Abstract

Single-cell technologies have transformed our understanding of human tissues. Yet, studies typically capture only a limited number of donors and disagree on cell type definitions. Integrating many single-cell datasets can address these limitations of individual studies and capture the variability present in the population. Here we present the integrated Human Lung Cell Atlas (HLCA), combining 49 datasets of the human respiratory system into a single atlas spanning over 2.4 million cells from 486 individuals. The HLCA presents a consensus cell type re-annotation with matching marker genes, including annotations of rare and previously undescribed cell types. Leveraging the number and diversity of individuals in the HLCA, we identify gene modules that are associated with demographic covariates such as age, sex and body mass index, as well as gene modules changing expression along the proximal-to-distal axis of the bronchial tree. Mapping new data to the HLCA enables rapid data annotation and interpretation. Using the HLCA as a reference for the study of disease, we identify shared cell states across multiple lung diseases, including SPP1+ profibrotic monocyte-derived macrophages in COVID-19, pulmonary fibrosis and lung carcinoma. Overall, the HLCA serves as an example for the development and use of large-scale, cross-dataset organ atlases within the Human Cell Atlas.

Abstract

International audience; The fine characterization of the substrate is a baseline to thoroughly investigate the relations between organisms and their biotopes. Cutting edge spatial technologies now provide access to accurate information on biotopes and biocenoses both in terrestrial and in marine environments. Photogrammetry is one of them and has recently been applied in submarine environments especially in shallow clear water. In this study, we investigated the potential of photogrammetry to characterise benthic habitats in turbid environments. Although more challenging, turbid environments are more frequent in temperate marine coastal areas. We selected two rocky sites in the bay of Saint-Malo (Brittany, France), differentiated by their level of turbidity, one being a marine site exposed to natural tides (Buharats), while the other (Bizeux) is subjected to both natural tides and artificial currents created by the functioning of a hydroelectric dam. The different substrates observed were classified into eight classes at a centimetre resolution using photogrammetry-based spatial and multispectral predictors. The spatial benthic terrain predictors were derived from a digital surface model (DSM) at various spatial scales, and the multispectral predictors were retrieved from the red-green-blue (RGB, natural colours) orthomosaic imagery. An overall classification was computed for Buharats and Bizeux, with accuracies of 84.76% and 79.54% respectively, revealing a good quality of the substrate classification. The combination of RGB, DSM, and several spatial benthic terrain variables, with a pixel resolution of 5 and 10 mm, and a kernel size of 30, 60 and 90 pixels leads to the best benthic substrate classification (highest overall accuracy). At the class scale, producer's (PA) and user's (UA) accuracy showed that big boulders and field material were correctly distinguished. Small boulders and cobbles, having similar sizes, showed the lowest classification performances. This classification methodology provides new perspectives for mesoscale (100 m2 to 1 km2) semi-automatic mapping of the fine resolution (1 cm) relationship between benthic organisms and their substrate.

Abstract

À partir d’un corpus d’une cinquantaine de séances de thérapies brèves sous hypnose (CHU de Limoges), est proposée une modélisation des séances, qui tente de rendre compte de la dynamique hypnothérapeutique. Cette modélisation est le fruit de la collaboration entre un soignant, praticien et enseignant en hypnose, et un sémioticien. L’enjeu est à la fois de comprendre précisément cette dynamique où l’hypnose est au service du soin, et de proposer à partir de l’analyse des discours produits pendant les séances un modèle utilisable par les praticiens. La théorie des quatre SAS (Scènes actantielles des Séances) qui en résulte, et constitue le cœur de ce modèle, s’inspire de la notion d’efficacité symbolique, et en propose une reformulation à visée pratique. Elle ouvre un espace de discussion entre praticiens de la santé et chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales, nécessaire pour appréhender l’émergence actuelle des thérapies complémentaires, où les composantes symboliques et communicationnelles jouent un rôle essentiel.

International audience; Among the consequences of global changes, an increase of coastal risks is widely expected. Indeed, the sea-level rise conjugated with spring tides and hazardous storms, can lead to extreme sea-levels, in worldwide coastal areas subject to unprecedented demographic exposure, thus risks. In this context, many methods, using conventional engineering or soft management, are used or experimented to reduce the coastal risk of marine flooding, thus protecting the human stakes. Coastal wetlands and especially salt marsh areas, can play a major role into the risk mitigation by acting as a natural buffer zone. Indeed, the various plant communities, which composed the salt marshes, have the potential to alleviate hazards by reducing the significant wave height and reducing the wave energy. Therefore, the quantification of this attenuation capability, through pressure gauges, is an essential element for the understanding of coastal territories and their dynamics. The mapping of the wave attenuation induced by the several plant communities is an efficient tool for coastal managers to take account of this natural buffer zone into urban spatial planning. However, the very high spatial resolution (VHR) quantification and mapping of this wave attenuation remains confined to numerical modellers unfortunately correlated with a poor level of stakeholders' outreach. We propose here a simple but robust solution to quantify and map the VHR wave attenuation service offered by a coastal salt marsh using an easy-to-implement combination of in situ pressure measurements and in silico optical imagery. The methodology, applied to a salt marsh in the western part of Mont-Saint-Michel bay (France), consists in several steps: 1) wave height and energy data acquisition using 10 pressure sensors distributed along two different cross-shore transect (approximatively 15 million data for each tide cycle) at a 2 Hz frequency; 2) identification and mapping of species composition of the salt marsh, using in situ and UAV imageries through three optical bands (blue, green, red); 3) quantification of attenuation values along the two cross-shore transects using ad hoc signal processing; 4) spatially-explicit modelling of the discretely-measured attenuation values to the entire salt marsh by means of the continuously-acquired UAV optical imagery deprived of, and provided with, the digital elevation model derived from the photogrammetry of the UAV imagery, so as to integrate the attenuation of the structural complexity.

Abstract

Between 2014 and 2016, the Russian economy suffered from a currency crisis caused by the collapse of oil prices and the country's engagement in the conflict with Ukraine. Although the crisis was overcome in the second half of 2016 thanks to prudent fiscal and monetary policies and higher oil prices, economic recovery remains weak and Russia's medium-term growth prospects look rather disappointing. The weak growth prospects are caused by several factors including: (i) adverse demographic trends - a declining working-age population and ageing of the population; (ii) a poor business and investment climate; (iii) difficulty in diversifying away from the dominant role of the hydrocarbon sector; (iv) Western sanctions on Russia in response to the annexation of Crimea and Russian support for separatists in the eastern Ukraine Donbas region, and Russian countersanctions. To increase potential growth, Russia needs comprehensive economic and institutional reforms that, in turn, will be conditioned by political reforms and by improved economic and political relationships with the United States, the European Union and Russia's neighbours.

This comparative study has enabled each system configuration to be scored according to its mean wave attenuation over three tides, but also in respect to its time variability in attenuation. Such added values about natural coastal barriers hold great promise to be integrated into expected spatially-explicitly modelling of the wave attenuation service by ecogeosystems.

Abstract

If coral reefs continue to degrade, waves on coastlines may substantially increase, leading to greater coastal erosion., Coral reefs are diverse ecosystems that support millions of people worldwide by providing coastal protection from waves. Climate change and human impacts are leading to degraded coral reefs and to rising sea levels, posing concerns for the protection of tropical coastal regions in the near future. We use a wave dissipation model calibrated with empirical wave data to calculate the future increase of back-reef wave height. We show that, in the near future, the structural complexity of coral reefs is more important than sea-level rise in determining the coastal protection provided by coral reefs from average waves. We also show that a significant increase in average wave heights could occur at present sea level if there is sustained degradation of benthic structural complexity. Our results highlight that maintaining the structural complexity of coral reefs is key to ensure coastal protection on tropical coastlines in the future.

Abstract

Images of coastal territories were constructed by underlining their wilderness. These images nurture representations and build a visual doxa where nuances and emotions waned as stereotypes waxed. Is it possible to take a fresh look at these coastal landscapes? To think off-the-frame? We will delve into coastal stereotype representations by comparing a selection of photographs taken along Ireland coastal shores, as an illustration of a " de-framing " , and an installation " in situ-made " within the Bay of Beaussais (Brittany), as an invitation to look at the landscape back-and-forth, introducing ambiguity in its reading. The non-utilitarian territory of art builds an aesthetical landscape that deconstructs the primary lines. " The art production of the space " structures, to a certain extent, an imagination fostering the look at the spirit of place. These artworks embody objects-to-think-of which spur the observer to query the meanings of what it is looking at., Les images des territoires du littoral se sont construites en mettant en avant leur caractère sauvage. Ces images nourrissent les représentations et construisent une doxa visuelle où nuances et émotions s'effacent au profit des stéréotypes. Est-il possible de regarder différemment ces paysages littoraux, de penser hors du cadre ? Nous mettrons en parallèle les représentations stéréotypées avec, d'une part, un ensemble de photographies réalisées en Irlande qui opère un « décadrage » et, d'autre part, une installation réalisée in situ dans la Baie de Beaussais (Bretagne) qui permet de faire pivoter l'oeil dans le paysage et d'introduire l'ambigüité de sa lecture. Le territoire non utilitaire de l'art bâtit un paysage esthétique qui déstructure les lignes primaires. « La mise en art de l'espace » structure en quelque sorte un imaginaire qui nous donne à voir l'esprit du lieu. Ces objets artistiques sont des objets à penser qui incitent l'observateur à se poser des questions sur les significations de ce qu'il voit.

Abstract

International audience; Global ocean warming combined with a long-lasting El Niño Southern Oscillation event (2015–-2016) are provoking the third ever global coral bleaching event. Hotspots of marine biodiversity, coral reefs require special attention from stakeholders and scientists tasked with Earth’s health. Earth observation has recently benefited from the launch of the multispectral Sentinel-2 (S2) sensor delivering high spatial resolution (10 m) optical information worldwide every 10 days. Within the Sen2Coral project of ESA, and as a precursor of open-source specific data processors’ development, this study strives to evaluate in real conditions the S2 capabilities for coral reef bathymetry and habitat mapping as well as bleaching detection given the ongoing event. A dedicated campaign held in Fatu Huku (Marquesas Archipelago, French Polynesia) in February 2016 enabled geolocated water depths and benthic frames to be extensively collected. After geometric and radiometric standardization, two sets of S2 blue, green, red and near-infrared bands were processed for comparison (11 February and 11 April 2016). The bathymetry mapping up to 20 m was satisfactorily generated for both dates (R2=0.64, r=0.79, RMSE=0.12 and R2=0.74, r=0.86, RMSE=0.09, respectively). The benthic composition (deep water, sand, reef pavement and live reef) was also reasonably classified (OA=78.8%, κ=0.71 and OA=73.5%, κ=0.65). Bathymetric maps and difference maps of benthic composition and depth-invariant reflectance were used to evaluate changes in water surface, water column and benthic habitats of this oceanic lagoon. By focusing on areas deprived of water-related constraints,benthic shifts from live reef to reef pavement were locally pointed out suggesting a potential bleaching detection at this 10-m scale when fit in the radiometric error budget. Those findings hold great promise to use S2 for coral reef bathymetry and habitat mapping but also are an incentive to confirm bleaching detection over larger areas provided with denser ground-truth data, unequivocally correlating the bleaching event over S2 data.

Abstract

International audience; Investigating coastal feature changes is a crucial task focusing onthe identificationof potential factors that trigger the degradation of the coastal ecosystem. However, in-situ field investigations can be costly, time-consuming and almost impossible for multi-decadal assessment. In this study, the evolution of coastal features (including shoreline patterns and coastal habitats) in KienGiang province, the north-westernmost part of the Mekong Delta, was investigated using multi-temporal Landsat data and high resolution Google Earth Images (GEIs). The aims of this study are threefold: (i) to delineate and detect the inter-decadal shoreline evolution based on Landsat data; (ii) to detect the coastal land cover changes using Landsat data and GEIs; (iii) to evaluate the anthropogenic pressures on the coastal ecosystem, particularly the mangrove ecosystem. The results of this study revealed that from 1989 to 2014, the shoreline pattern of the study area has greatly changed due to the erosion and accretion phenomenathat were driven by intensive human activities along the coastline. The rate of the coastal erosion hascontinuously increased until the present day with adominant erosion zone shifted from north to south. On the other hand, the coastal land cover has significantly and constantly changed. The bare surface has remarkably decreased while the other land covers such as the urban area, vegetation cover and inland water surface have successively increased. This reflects the increasing trend of human activities in this coastal region. Moreover, the contrast variation pattern of the paddy area and inland water surface shows that the socioeconomic situation in the study site haschanged from rice oriented to aquaculture oriented, which took place in early 2000s. The extent of the mangrove forest has continuously declined from 1995 until now. The conversion ofthe adjacent coastal land cover was found to have potential negative impacts on the degradation of the mangrove area. Moreover, concentrated economic activities such as the intensive shrimp breeding and rice cultivation, industrial development and increasing number of human inhabitants also have resulted in severe damage to the mangrove ecosystem.

Abstract

Mapping the spatial allocation of fishing effort while including key stakeholders in the decision making process is essential for effective fisheries management but is difficult to implement in complex small-scale fisheries that are diffuse, informal and multifaceted. Here we present a standardized but flexible approach that combines participatory mapping approaches (fishers’ spatial preference for fishing grounds, or fishing suitability) with socioeconomic approaches (spatial extrapolation of social surrogates, or fishing capacity) to generate a comprehensive map of predicted fishing effort. Using a real world case study, in Moorea, French Polynesia, we showed that high predicted fishing effort is not simply located in front of, or close to, main fishing villages with high dependence on marine resources; it also occurs where resource dependency is moderate and generally in near-shore areas and reef passages. The integrated approach we developed can contribute to addressing the recurrent lack of fishing effort spatial data through key stakeholders' (i.e., resource users) participation. It can be tailored to a wide range of social, ecological and data availability contexts, and should help improve place-based management of natural resources.

Abstract

Shallow coral reefs threatened by climate change must be spatio-temporally analyzed in terms of their protection of coastal human populations. This study combines Japanese spatio-temporal gradients of population/asset and coral buffering exposure to stress-inducing and stress-mitigating factors so that the socio-economic and ecological (SEE) resilience tied to coral reefscapes can be regionally mapped (1200 km) at a fine resolution (1 arcsec) over a decade (11 years). Fuzzy logic was employed to associated environmental factors based on the related population/asset/coral buffering responses, as found in the literature. Once the factors were weighted according to their resilience contributions, temporally static patterns were evident: (1) a negative correlation occurs between coral buffering resilience and latitude, (2) the least resilient islands are low-lying, deprived of wide reef barriers, and located on the eastern and southern boundaries of the Nansei archipelago, (3) the southwestern-most, middle and northeastern-most islands have the same SEE resilience, and (4) Sekisei Lagoon islands have a very high coral buffering resilience. To overcome uncertainty, future studies should focus on the socio-ecological adaptive capacity, fine-scale ecological processes (such as coral and fish functional groups) and the prediction of the flood risks in the coming decades.

Abstract

The coastal fringe encompasses a range of ecosystems whose ecological services reach US $ 17,447 trillion, which is half of the total natural capital of the Earth's ecosystems. Population growth coupled with the upheavals caused by global warming are inexorably generating strong pressures on coastal ecological processes. The landscape ecology, resulting from the combinatio of ecology and spatial planning, is likely to provide the scientific foundation necessary for the sustainable management of these coastal ecosystems. This discipline aims to understand the interactions between the patterns of spatial structures, the ecological processes and the scales involved. Coastal issues need to benefit from spatiotemporal high-resolution monitoring over regional extents. Airborne remote sensing techniques can effectively meet these requirements. It is in this context that this doctoral research evolves. Its objectives are to determine the characteristics of the littoscape ecology, to evaluate the potentialities of ecological applications of a new technique of airborne surveys, LiDAR, and to forge links between the discipline and the technology in order to assist in the sustainable management of coastal, i.e., intertidal and subtidal, ecosystems. Based on five publications, the decisive advances in the coalescence of the littoscape ecology and ubiquitous LiDAR were investigated, based on campaigns conducted in the Gaspesia Peninsula (Quebec, Canada), according to their ecological base: subtidal, intertidal, and the fusion of both. Thus, the multivariate processing of the parameters resulting from LiDAR waveforms and ecological variables, derived from the oceanographic surveys, made possible to classify four benthic habitats with a performance of 82.1% over an area of 0.5 km². Geostatistical tools, i.e., spatial statistics and texture filters, were tested on another area with an area equivalent to 7.9 km². Integrated with the previous methodology, the Getis-Ord index, the respective averages of the occurrence and co-occurrence matrices led to improve the classification of the four benthic habitats, again, from 89.9% to 95.2%, i.e., 5.3%. Following the characterization of the spatial patterns of subtidal habitats, the influence of the spatial resolution, i.e., the scale, on 21 metrics of the landscape, describing the previous habitats, belonging to 6 distinct families (area, patch, ridge, shape, contagion and connectivity), was evaluated. Ten metrics displayed a predictive behavior according to the evolution of the resolution, but the metric of shape, PARA_MN, equal to the ratio perimeter / area, demonstrated a very strong predictability (R² = 0.994, p, La frange littorale englobe un éventail d'écosystèmes dont les services écologiques atteignent 17.447 billions de dollars U.S., ce qui constitue la moitié de la somme totale des capitaux naturels des écosystèmes de la Terre. L'accroissement démographique couplé aux bouleversements provoqués par le réchauffement climatique, génèrent inexorablement de fortes pressions sur les processus écologiques côtiers. L'écologie du paysage, née de la rencontre de l'écologie et de l'aménagement du territoire, est susceptible d'apporter les fondements scientifiques nécessaires à la gestion durable de ces écosystèmes littoraux. Cette discipline vise à comprendre les interactions entre l'organisation des structures spatiales, les processus écologiques et les échelles mises en jeu. Les problématiques littorales doivent bénéficier d'un suivi à haute résolution spatiotemporelle, et ce, sur des étendues régionales. Les techniques de relevés par télédétection aérienne peuvent répondre efficacement à ces exigences. C'est dans ce contexte que s'inscrit cette recherche doctorale. Ses objectifs sont de déterminer les caractéristiques de l'écologie du paysage littoral, d'évaluer les potentialités d'applications écologiques d'unenouvelle technique de relevés aériens, le LiDAR, et de tisser des liens entre la discipline et la technologie afin d'aider à la gestion durable des écosystèmes littoraux, i.e., intertidaux et infralittoraux.Basées sur cinq publications, les avancées déterminantes de la coalescence de l'écologie du paysage littoral et du LiDAR ubiquiste ont été investiguées, à partir de campagnes réalisées en Gaspésie (Québec, Canada), en fonction de leur assise écologique: infralittoral, intertidal, et la réunion des deux.Ainsi, le traitement multivarié des paramètres issus des formes d'onde LiDAR et des variables écologiques, dérivées des campagnes océanographiques, a permis de classifier quatre habitats benthiques avec une performance de 82.1 % sur une aire de 0.5 km2 . Les outils de géostatistiques, i. e., statistiques spatiales et filtres de texture, ont été testés sur une autre zone dont l'aire équivalait à 7.9 km2. Intégrés à la méthodologie précédente, l'indice de Getis-Ord, les moyennes respectives des matrices d'occurrence et de cooccurrence ont conduit à améliorer la classification des quatre habitats benthiques, à nouveau, de 89.9 % à 95.2 %, i.e., 5.3%. Suite à la caractérisation de l'organisation spatiale des habitats infralittoraux, l'influence de la résolution spatiale, i.e., l'échelle, sur 21 métriques du paysage, décrivant les habitats précédents, appartenant à 6 familles distinctes (aire, parcelle, arête, forme, contagion et connectivité), fut évaluée. The Double Chooz experiment aims to measure the θ₁₃ mixing angle through the disappearance—induced by the oscillation phenomenon—of anti-neutrinos produced by the Chooz nuclear reactors. In order to reduce systematic uncertainties, the experiment relies on the relative comparison of detected signals in two identical liquid scintillator detectors. The near one, giving the normalization of the emitted flux, is currently being built and will be delivered in spring 2014. The far detector, sensitive to θ₁₃, is located at about one kilometer and is taking data since 2011. In this first phase of the experiment, the far detector data are compared to a prediction of the emitted neutrino flux to estimate θ₁₃. In this thesis, the Double Chooz experiment and its analysis are presented, especially the background studies and the rejection of parasitic signals due to light emitted by photo-multipliers. Neutron fluxes between the different detector volumes impact the definition of the fiducial volume of neutrino interactions and the efficiency of detection. Detailed studies of these effects are presented. As part of the Double Chooz experiment, studies were performed to improve the prediction of neutrino flux emitted by reactors. This work revealed a deficit of observed neutrino rates in the short baseline experiments of last decades. This deficit could be explained by an oscillation to a sterile state. The Stereo project aims to observe a typical signature of oscillations: the distortion of neutrino spectra both in energy and baseline. This thesis presents the detector concept and simulations as well as sensitivity studies. Background sources and the foreseen shielding are also discussed.; L’expérience Double Chooz a pour but la mesure précise de l’angle de mélange θ₁₃. Abstract

The RENO experiment recently reported the disappearance of reactor electron antineutrinos consistent with neutrino oscillations, with a significance of 4.9 standard deviations. The published ratio of observed to expected number of antineutrinos in the far detector is R=0.920 +-0.009(stat.) +-0.014(syst.) and corresponds to sin^2 2theta13 = 0.113 +-0.013(stat.) +-0.019(syst), using a rate-only analysis. In this letter we reanalyze the data and we find a ratio R=0.903 +-0.01(stat.), leading to sin^2 2theta13 = 0.135. Moreover we show that the sin^2 2theta13 measurement still depend of the prompt high energy bound beyond 4 MeV, contrarily to the expectation based on neutrino oscillation.

Abstract

International audience; This article presents early results of the FUDOTERAM project using bathymetric LiDAR data acquired with the SHOALS-3000, the latest bathymetric LiDAR system from Optech. The survey area is in the coastal zone along the northern shore of Chaleurs Bay, in the western Gulf of St. Lawrence, Canada. The project aimed to apply the SHOALS- 3000 to geological mapping, sedimentary process monitoring and marine habitat mapping. This paper focuses on the sedimentological part of the study and presents the early raw data obtained to produce a bottom type classification based on some simple parameters, roughness, slope angle and direction. Two methods are evaluated for analysis of the SHOALS-3000 waveforms, the Moment Method and the Gaussian Mixture Model, and the latter is used as an approach to model the bottom type signal.

Abstract

Coral reefs are diverse ecosystems that support millions of people worldwide by providing coastal protection from waves. Climate change and human impacts are leading to degraded coral reefs and to rising sea levels, posing concerns for the protection of tropical coastal regions in the near future. We use a wave dissipation model calibrated with empirical wave data to calculate the future increase of back-reef wave height. We show that, in the near future, the structural complexity of coral reefs is more important than sea-level rise in determining the coastal protection provided by coral reefs from average waves. We also show that a significant increase in average wave heights could occur at present sea level if there is sustained degradation of benthic structural complexity. Our results highlight that maintaining the structural complexity of coral reefs is key to ensure coastal protection on tropical coastlines in the future.

Abstract

Publisher Summary Bonaventure and Paspebiac are two nearshore sites located in the Baie des Chaleurs (48°N, 65°W), southern Gulf of St. Lawrence, QC, Canada. The surveyed areas comprise two intertidal and subtidal zones approximately 10 m and 16 km long and 2 km wide. The two areas are comprised mainly of Quaternary fluvio-glacial sediments deposited during the Holocene transgression. Outcrops of Siluro-Devonian, coarse-grained, red conglomerate, sandstone, and mudstone occur locally. This locality is mesotidal (2–4 m tidal range) and experiences tidal currents of up to 0.25 m/s. In both areas, fluvial sediments are dispersed by alongshore currents driven by east-southeast swells and deposited as sand spits. The interaction between hydrodynamics and sediment supply results in specific geomorphic features: ridges, passages, and seachannels. A seascape analysis conducted at broad and fine scales (100 m and 10 m horizontal resolution, respectively) classified the area into ridges, passages, and seachannels. Drop-down camera stations were carried out at 814 locations to characterize these geomorphic features in terms of biological cover and sediment composition. The distribution of fine sediment showed opposite trends at the two sites, decreasing in Bonaventure in the order: broad ridges, passages, and seachannels, while increasing in Paspebiac. While broad ridges and passages constituted niches for Laminaria spp. (kelp) in both areas, broad seachannels were populated by Laminaria spp. in Bonaventure and covered by dead shells in Paspebiac. Biodiversity indices were higher in broad ridges and passages than in broad seachannels. Sediment type, slope, and aspect did not emerge as useful surrogates to explain the occurrence of different biota. However, water depth is a good surrogate.

Abstract

International audience; We propose here the first 2D modelling of the wave attenuation induced by salt marsh vegetation using in situ pressure measurements combined with very high resolution (VHR) multispectral satellite image (WorldView-3, WV-3). The methodology will describe the wave signal monitoring and processing, satellite imagery processing, and multiple regression modelling, developed to map the attenuation over an entire salt marsh.
