Objective: To evaluate the long-term outcomes of covered stent placement in patients with gastroduodenal artery (GDA) stump hemorrhage after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and to identify risk factors of stent failure. Methods and materials: Covered stent was placed in total of 21 patients for GDA stump hemorrhage after PD from September 2012 to March 2021. Technical and clinical success, complications, and stent patency were retrospectively evaluated. Nine relevant variables were analyzed to determine risk factors for stent failure. Results: In 20 of 21 patients (95.2%), the GDA stump was completely excluded with covered stent placement. Immediate hemostasis was achieved in the 20 patients and rebleeding from jejunal artery occurred in one patient which was successfully embolized one day after the stent placement. There was no procedure-related complication or early mortality (Conclusions: Covered stent placement is an effective and safe management of postoperative GDA stump hemorrhage. Stent failure occurred frequently (50%) but did not cause liver ischemia. Stent failure was associated with recurrence of primary malignancy. Advances in knowledge 1. Recently, as the need for constant safety management increases due to collapse accidents caused by external displacement of buildings, it is necessary to manufacture a construction ground gradient meter and serial open information technology (IT) sensor that can be monitored wirelessly based on epoxy resins, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes, and communication cables. In particular, waterproof performance is required for ground monitoring of underground spaces with water, and for this purpose, research was also conducted to double mold the inside of the incline system. Construction IT convergence's building slope measurement device technology can respond to safety accidents by checking the amount of change in building displacement through a real-time online monitoring system. In addition, it is an industry with various application markets by converging IT technology into the existing construction industry and can be used as a pre-quake detection monitoring system for structural collapse accidents caused by external displacement. Therefore, it is intended to secure a sustainable facility safety management system through research in the field of real-time measurement technology on various facilities and surrounding ground behavior.

Background: A total of 8,303 individuals (4.3%) with adverse reactions (n=191,860) after vaccination developed serious conditions or died. Such health developments could cause people not vaccinated yet or waiting for a booster shot to become fearful of the vaccination. Methods: The 3-month (July–September 2021) clinical data of 41 patients from the family medicine department of a single medical center were analyzed retrospectively to determine risk factors and to investigate the clinical course to identify the cause of symptoms in detail.Results: A significant number of older adults aged over 50 years reported experiencing general weakness (P=0.026) but fewer incidences of fever than patients aged 50 years or younger (P=0.011). Eighteen of the 41 patients were requested to visit more than twice or consult a specialist. In 14 patients, the symptoms were explained by other medical causes.Conclusion: The primary physician has a pivotal role in thoroughly evaluating patients who complain of adverseeffects after vaccination, considering the broad multitude of symptoms and medical conditions presented. To thoroughlyevaluate and appropriately advise patients with adverse reactions to their chosen vaccine, taking detailedmedical history and nutritional counseling are required to identify possible underlying causes, resolve symptoms,and educate them on self-care and regarding vaccines.

Advances in information and communications technology (ICT) are improving daily convenience and productivity, but new malware threats continue to surge. This paper proposes a malware detection system using various machine learning algorithms and portable executable (PE) Header file static analysis method for malware code, which has recently changed in various forms. Methods/Statistical analysis: This paper proposes a malware detection method that quickly and accurately detects new malware using static file analysis and stacking methods. Furthermore, using information from PE headers extracted through static analysis can detect malware without executing real malware. The features of the pe_packer used in the proposed research method were most efficient in experiments because the extracted data were processed in various ways and applied to machine learning models. So, we chose pe_packer information as the shape data to be used for the stacking model. Detection models are implemented based on additive techniques rather than single models to detect with high accuracy. Findings: The proposed detection system can quickly and accurately classify malware or ordinary files. Moreover, experiments showed that the proposed method has a 95.2% malware detection rate and outperforms existing single model-based detection systems. Improvements/Applications: The proposed research method applies to detecting large new strains of malware.

Gummy stem blight (GSB), a common and serious disease in cucurbits worldwide, is caused by three genetically distinct species: Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum (syn. Didymella bryoniae), S. citrulli, and S. caricae. In Korea, however, the three species of Stagonosporopsis have been barely characterized. In this study, 21 Stagonosporopsis isolates were recovered from watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) and muskmelon (Cucumis melo) leaves and stem showing blight symptoms collected from 43 fields in Korea. Sequence analysis performed with an internal transcribed spacer region was not competent to differentiate the Stagonosporopsis isolates. On the contrary, analysis of β-tubulin (TUB) genes and three microsatellite markers, Db01, Db05, and Db06, successfully differentiated Stagonosporopsis isolates. Further sequence analysis identified two Stagonosporopsis species, S. citrulli and S. caricae, and one previously unknown species of Stagonosporopsis. Representative isolates from three species caused dark water-soaked lesions on the detached watermelon and muskmelon leaves with no significant differences in the aggressiveness. Our results indicate that the S. citrulli, S. caricae, and unknown Stagonosporopsis sp. are all causal agents of GSB for both watermelon and muskmelon. This is the first report of a new species and the population structure of Stagonosporopsis species causing GSB in Korea.

Membranous obstruction of the inferior vena cava (MOVC) is a rare subset of Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) with a subacute onset that is often complicated by cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Here we report a case of recurrent HCC in a patient with cirrhosis and BCS that was treated with several episodes of transarterial chemoembolization followed by surgical tumorectomy, whereas the MOVC was successfully treated with balloon angioplasty followed by endovascular stenting. The patient was followed up for 9.9 years without anticoagulation and experienced no stent thrombosis. After the tumorectomy, the patient was HCC-free for 4.4 years of follow-up.

[Abridged] It is expected that the ongoing and future space-borne planet survey missions including TESS, PLATO, and Earth 2.0 will detect thousands of small to medium-sized planets via the transit technique, including over a hundred habitable terrestrial rocky planets. To conduct a detailed study of these terrestrial planets, particularly the cool ones with wide orbits, the exoplanet community has proposed various follow-up missions. The currently proposed ESA mission ARIEL is capable of characterization of planets down to warm super-Earths mainly using transmission spectroscopy. The NASA 6m UV/Opt/NIR mission proposed in the Astro2020 Decadal Survey may further tackle down to habitable rocky planets, and is expected to launch around 2045. In the meanwhile, China is funding a concept study of a 6-m class space telescope named Tianlin (A UV/Opt/NIR Large Aperture Space Telescope) that aims to start its operation within the next 10-15 years and last for 5+ years. Tianlin will be primarily aimed to the discovery and characterization of rocky planets in the habitable zones (HZ) around nearby stars and to search for potential biosignatures mainly using the direct imaging method. Transmission and emission spectroscopy at moderate to high resolution will be carried out as well on a population of exoplanets to strengthen the understanding of the formation and evolution of exoplanets. It will also carry out in-depth studies of the cosmic web and early galaxies, and constrain the nature of the dark matter and dark energy. We describe briefly the primary scientific motivations and main technical considerations based on our preliminary simulation results. We find that a monolithic off-axis space telescope with a primary mirror diameter larger than 6m equipped with a high contrast chronograph can identify water in the atmosphere of a habitable-zone Earth-like planet around a Sun-like star., Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in RAA and is available online

We propose an electro-hydrodynamics model to describe the dynamic evolution of a slender drop containing a dilute ionic surfactant on a naturally wettable surface, with a varying external electric field. This unified model reproduces fundamental microfluidic operations controlled by electrical signals, including dewetting, rewetting, and droplet shifting. In this paper, lubrication theory analysis and numerical simulations illustrate how to electrically control the wettability of surface via the charged surfactant. Our numerical results show that electric field promotes dewetting by attracting ionic surfactants onto the transition thin-film region and promotes rewetting by attracting them away from the region., 16 pages, 13 figures

Integrated photonic platforms have proliferated in recent years, each demonstrating its own unique strengths and shortcomings. However, given the processing incompatibilities of different platforms, a formidable challenge in the field of integrated photonics still remains for combining the strength of different optical materials in one hybrid integrated platform. Silicon carbide is a material of great interest because of its high refractive index, strong second and third-order non-linearities and broad transparecy window in the visible and near infrared. However, integrating SiC has been difficult, and current approaches rely on transfer bonding techniques, that are time consuming, expensive and lacking precision in layer thickness. Here, we demonstrate high index Amorphous Silicon Carbide (a-SiC) films deposited at 150$^{\circ}$C and verify the high performance of the platform by fabricating standard photonic waveguides and ring resonators. The intrinsic quality factors of single-mode ring resonators were in the range of $Q_{int} = (4.7-5.7)\times10^5$ corresponding to optical losses between 0.78-1.06 dB/cm. We then demonstrate the potential of this platform for future heterogeneous integration with ultralow loss thin SiN and LiNbO$_3$ platforms.

Background and Objectives: Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) is now widely recognized as the primary surgical option for hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) smaller than 3 cm located in the left lateral segment of the liver. Nevertheless, there is a scarcity of studies comparing laparoscopic liver resection with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in these cases. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively compared the short- and long-term outcomes of Child–Pugh class A patients who underwent LLR (n = 36) or RFA (n = 40) for a newly diagnosed single small (≤3 cm) HCC located in the left lateral segment of the liver. Results: Overall survival (OS) was not significantly different between the LLR and RFA groups (94.4% vs. 80.0%, p = 0.075). However, disease-free survival (DFS) was better in the LLR group than in the RFA group (p < 0.001), with 1-, 3-, and 5-year DFS rates of 100%, 84.5%, and 74.4%, respectively, in the LLR group vs. 86.9%, 40.2%, and 33.4%, respectively, in the RFA group. The hospital stay was significantly shorter in the RFA group than in the LLR (2.4 vs. 4.9 days, p < 0.001). The overall complication rate was higher in the RFA group than in the LLR group (15% vs. 5.6%). In patients with an α-fetoprotein level of ≥20 ng/mL, the 5-year OS (93.8% vs. 50.0%, p = 0.031) and DFS (68.8% vs. 20.0%, p = 0.002) rates were greater in the LLR group. Conclusions: LLR showed superior OS and DFS compared to RFA in patients with a single small HCC situated in the left lateral segment of the liver. LLR can be considered for patients with an α-fetoprotein level of ≥20 ng/mL.

Recently, a novel hyaluronic acid (HA) filler containing the epidermal growth factor (EGF) was developed. The objective of this study was to evaluate the rheological properties, preclinical efficacy and biocompatibility of the EGF-containing HA filler (HA-EGF filler) using a photoaged mouse model. The rheological properties of the new HA-EGF filler were assessed. Twenty-four female hairless mice (SKH1) underwent photoaging induction with 8 weeks of ultraviolet-B irradiation. The mice were randomly divided into four groups and intradermally injected 100 μl of phosphate-buffered saline, HA-EGF filler, HA filler or polynucleotide (PN) into the dorsal region. We examined the effect of fillers on photoaged skin by dermoscopic examination. Furthermore, histological evaluation with immunohistochemical staining was performed to determine the biocompatibility and collagen formation at the 10th week. A real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis and western blot test assessed the expression of collagen I/III, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and transforming growth factor. The viscosity and elasticity of the HA-EGF filler were lower than those of the HA filler. Histological evaluation revealed no significant differences in the collagen synthesis between the HA-EGF, HA and PN filler groups. No inflammation was observed during the experimental period. The HA-EGF filler induced type I/III collagen production and downregulated the expression of MMP-1, 3 and 9. Our results suggest that the novel HA-EGF filler may be an additional therapeutic option for photoaged skin, which works by inducing collagen synthesis. Based on these preclinical results, further well-controlled clinical studies are required.

Defect engineering is promising to tailor the physical properties of two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors for function-oriented electronics and optoelectronics. Compared with the extensively studied 2D binary materials, the origin of defects and their influence on physical properties of 2D ternary semiconductors have not been clarified. In this work, we thoroughly studied the effect of defects on the electronic structure and optical properties of few-layer hexagonal Znln2S4 via versatile spectroscopic tools in combination with theoretical calculations. It has been demonstrated that the Zn-In anti-structural defects induce the formation of a series of donor and acceptor levels inside the bandgap, leading to rich recombination paths for defect emission and extrinsic absorption. Impressively, the emission of donor-acceptor pair (DAP) in Znln2S4 can be significantly tailored by electrostatic gating due to efficient tunability of Fermi level (Ef). Furthermore, the layer-dependent dipole orientation of defect emission in Znln2S4 was directly revealed by back focal plane (BFP) imagining, where it presents obviously in-plane dipole orientation within a dozen layers thickness of Znln2S4. These unique features of defects in Znln2S4 including extrinsic absorption, rich recombination paths, gate tunability and in-plane dipole orientation will definitely benefit to the advanced orientation-functional optoelectronic applications.

This paper studies the sustainability of plastrons on superhydrophobic (SHPo) surfaces made of longitudinal micro-trenches covered by nano-grass with the main interest on hydrodynamic friction drag reduction in high-speed flows of open water, which represent the operating conditions of common watercraft. After revising the shear-driven drainage model to address the air diffusion for SHPo surfaces, the existing theories are combined to reveal the trends of how the immersion depth, air saturation level and shear stress affect the maximum attainable plastron length. Deviations from the theories by the dynamic effect at the two ends of the trench, the interfacial contaminations and turbulent fluctuation are also discussed. A combinatorial series of well-defined SHPo trench surfaces (4 cm × 7 cm in size with varying trench widths, depths, lengths and roughnesses) is microfabricated and attached underneath a 4 m long motorboat on seawater in turbulent flows up to 7.2 m s−1 (shear rate ∼83 000 s−1 and friction Reynolds number ∼5500). Because the plastron can provide a substantial slip only while its air–water interfaces are pinned (or only slightly depinned) at the trench top, two underwater cameras are employed to differentiate the pinned (and slightly depinned) interfaces from the depinned (and no) interfaces. In addition to achieving pinned plastrons on 6 cm long trenches aligned to high-speed flows in open water, the experimental results corroborate the theoretical estimations, supporting the design of SHPo surfaces for field applications.

Cancer is a major disease and the leading cause of death worldwide, with colorectal cancer (CRC) being the third-most common cancer in Korea. The survival rate associated with CRC reduces as the disease stage increases. Therefore, its early detection and treatment can greatly increase patient survival rates. In this study, we identified the tetraspanin 5 (TSPAN5) gene as an important biomarker for predicting the prognosis of patients with CRC. A TMA slide was used for statistical analysis. pN and clinical stage were found to be significant factors according to chi-square analysis, whereas pT, pN, metastasis, clinical stage, and TSPAN5 expression were significant according to Cox regression analysis. In order to prove the usefulness of TSPAN5, which is overexpressed in patients with metastatic CRC, as a biomarker, proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenicity were examined using cell lines inhibited using small interfering RNA. The evaluations confirmed that TSPAN5 suppression, in turn, suppressed proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenesis, which are characteristic of cancer cells. Therefore, the evaluation of TSPAN5 expression may help observe the prognosis of CRC and determine an appropriate treatment method for patients with CRC.

Feed quality influences insect cannibalistic behavior and gut microbial communities. The relationship between larval cannibalism and larval-midgut bacteria was determined in this study. Spodoptera exigua larvae fed with different artificial diets exhibited different cannibalism ratios. The RW-fed larvae had delayed cannibalistic behavior and reduced cannibalism ratio compared with those of the CS, CSK, SW, or CSW-fed larvae. The gut bacterial load of the CSK-fed larvae was the lowest among the five tested larval group. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of the bacteria in the midgut of S. exigua larvae fed with five diets indicated that Enterobacteriales was the prominent bacterial family in the RW-fed larvae. Fifteen culturable bacterial isolates were obtained from the midgut of the RW-fed larvae; of these, ten were belonging to Enterobacteriales. After administered to CS or CSK-fed S. exigua larvae, two bacteria isolates (SePC-12 and − 37) delayed cannibalistic behavior in both tested larval groups. Furthermore, CSK-fed larvae had lowest Juvenile hormone (JH) concentration, and they were more aggressive in intraspecific predation. But the loading of SePC-12 increased the JH hormone in the CSK-fed larvae and inhibited their cannibalism. The bacteria in the larval midgut involved in the JH levels stabilization, thereby regulating host larval cannibalistic behavior.

A cathode with an open-ended coaxial structure is experimentally investigated using an axial virtual cathode oscillator (vircator). To enhance the microwave power output, an open-ended coaxial cathode is installed in the axial vircator. The proposed cathode is designed based on the reciprocating frequency of the vircator. The operation features of an axial vircator with a solid cathode, an annular cathode, and an open-ended coaxial cathode are comparatively analyzed through simulations and experiments. Three cathodes are machined using graphite. A stainless steel mesh with a transparency of 70% is used as an anode. The anode-to-cathode gap is fixed to 6 mm. The vircator is driven using a 10-stage PFN-Marx generator with a characteristic impedance of 31 Ω. The PFN-Marx generator applies -150 kV voltage pulses with a 170–200 ns pulse width into the vircator. The microwave power from the solid and annular cathodes is 11.22 MW and 11.27 MW, respectively. The proposed cathode generates a microwave with a power of 12.65 MW while enhancing the microwave power by 13% compared with the solid and annular cathodes. The proposed cathode shows a frequency shift to 3.4 GHz, which is a much lower frequency than that of the solid cathode at 6.34 GHz.

The etiologies for adults presenting with hemiballism are usually acquired lesions in the contralateral side of subthalamic nucleus. We present a 71-year-old woman with progressive onset of left hemiballism, orolingual dyskinesia and cognitive decline for 3 years. A rare genetic etiology was the final diagnosis for this index patient. In this movement disorder round, we describe our approach to this clinical presentation, and discuss the phenomenon and radiological features of this rare genetic disorder.

Objective : Intracranial atypical meningiomas have a poor prognosis and high rates of recurrence. Moreover, up to one-third of the recurrences undergo high-grade transformation into malignant meningiomas. We aimed to investigate the clinical factors that can predict the propensity of malignant transformation from atypical to anaplastic meningiomas.Methods : Between 2001 and 2018, all patients with atypical meningioma, in whom the tumors had undergone malignant transformation to anaplastic meningioma, were included. The patients’ medical records documenting the diagnosis of atypical meningioma prior to malignant transformation were reviewed to identify the predictors of transformation. The control group comprised 56 patients with atypical meningiomas who were first diagnosed between January 2017 and December 2018 and had no malignant transformation.Results : Nine patients in whom the atypical meningiomas underwent malignant transformation were included. The median time interval from diagnosis of atypical meningioma to malignant transformation was 19 months (range, 7–78). The study group showed a significant difference in heterogeneous enhancement (77.8% vs. 33.9%), bone invasion (55.6% vs. 12.5%), mitotic index (MI; 14.8±4.9 vs. 3.5±3.9), and Ki-67 index (20.7±13.9 vs. 9.5±7.1) compared with the control group. In multivariate analysis, increased MI (odds ratio, 1.436; 95% confidence interval, 1.127–1.900; p=0.004) was the only significant factor for predicting malignant transformation.Conclusion : An increased MI within atypical meningiomas might be used as a predictor of malignant transformation. Tumors at high risk for malignant transformation might require more attentive surveillance and management than other atypical meningiomas.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is often performed sequentially on both sides during a single hospital stay. Patients who experience postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after the first operation are concerned about PONV recurrence after the second operation. However, there are few studies regarding the incidence of PONV in staged bilateral TKA with a ≥ 1-week interval. This study aimed to identify the differences in (1) PONV incidence, (2) use of rescue antiemetics, and (3) the amount of opioid consumption between the first and second operations for staged bilateral TKA with a 1-week interval. Based on our anecdotal experience, the hypothesis of this study was that during staged bilateral TKA at a 1-week interval, the PONV incidence and rescue antiemetic requirement after the second operation will be lower than those after the first operation, regardless of opioid consumption.Fifty-eight consecutive patients who underwent staged bilateral TKA with a 1-week interval were retrospectively reviewed. All second-stage operations were performed with the same anaesthesia protocol and perioperative patient management protocol as the first-stage operation. PONV incidence was the primary outcome. The requirement for rescue antiemetic drugs and the amount of opioid consumption were secondary outcome variables. The outcome variables were recorded during three postoperative days (Days 0-2) for each stage and were compared between the first and second operations.The incidence rates of nausea and vomiting on Day 0 (p = 0.001 and p = 0.004, respectively) and nausea on Day 1 (p = 0.008) were significantly lower after the second operation. Rescue antiemetic use on Day 0 was significantly lower after the second operation (p = 0.001). The total opioid consumption 72 h after surgery was significantly higher after the second operation (61.76 vs. 34.28 mg, p 0.001).During staged bilateral TKA with a 1-week interval, PONV incidence was lower after the second operation, even with increased opioid consumption.III.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) function as potential diagnostic biomarkers in various cancers. This study aimed to evaluate the roles of miR-205-5p in lung cancer progression and diagnosis.MiR-205-5p was detected by quantitative real-time PCR. The effect of miR-205-5p on cell proliferation and metastasis was estimated by MTT and flow cytometry. The expression of TP53INP1 and related genes was analyzed by immunoblotting. The diagnostic value of miR-205-5p was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, sensitivity, and specificity.The miR-205-5p was increased in lung cancer tissues. MiR-205-5p mimics were promoted but its inhibitor suppressed cell proliferation and metastasis compared with control treatment in vitro and in vivo. By regulating the 3' untranslated region, miR-205-5p could negatively regulate TP53INP1 expression, which further inhibited the expression of RB1 and P21, but increased that of cyclinD1. Moreover, the serum miR-205-5p levels of patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those of normal controls, and they were correlated with patients' gender, drinking status, and clinical stage. The area under the ROC curve of serum miR-205-5p in the diagnosis of non-small-cell lung cancer was 0.8250, respectively. The finding supported its possession of high diagnostic efficiency for lung cancer.MiR-205-5p promoted lung cancer cell proliferation and metastasis by negatively regulating the novel target TP53INP1, which further affected the expression of P21, RB1, and cyclin D1. Serum miR-205-5p is a novel and valuable biomarker for lung cancer diagnosis.

This work provides a naphthaldehyde-based Schiff base with reversible multiple stimuli-responsive behaviour of AIEE mechanochromic luminescence, which functions as a sensitive chemosensor for Cu2+ ions.

Ascoviruses are insect-specific viruses that are thought to utilize the cellular apoptotic processes of host larvae to produce numerous virion-containing vesicles. In this study, we monitored the in vivo infection processes of Heliothis virescens ascovirus 3h (HvAV-3h) to illustrate the regulated cell death (RCD) of host cells. Transmission electron microscopic observations did not reveal any morphological markers of apoptosis in the fat bodies or hemocytes of HvAV-3h-infected Helicoverpa armigera or Spodoptera exigua larvae. However, several hemocytes showed the morphological criteria for necrosis and/or pyroptosis. Further in vitro biochemical tests were performed to confirm the RCD type of host cells after infection with HvAV-3h. Different morphological characteristics were found between the early (prior to 24 hours post-infection, [hpi]) and later (48 to 120 hpi) stages in both HvAV-3h infected larval fat bodies and hemocytes. In the early stages, the virions could only be found in several adipohemocytes, and the fat bodies were cleaving their contained lipid inclusions into small lipid dots. In the later stage, both fat bodies and hemocytes were filled with numerous virions. According to the morphological characteristics of HvAV-3h infected larval fat bodies or hemocytes, the pathogenic characteristics and infection patterns of HvAV-3h in the host larvae were described, and the systematic pathogenic mode of ascovirus infection was refined in this study. This study details the complete infection process of ascoviruses, which provides insights into the relationship between a pathogenesis of an insect virus and the RCD of different host tissues at different stages of infection. IMPORTANCE Viruses and other pathogens can interrupt host cellular apoptosis to gain benefits, such as sufficient resources and a stable environment that enables them to complete their replication and assembly. It is unusual for viruses to code proteins with homology to caspases, which are commonly recognized as apoptosis regulators. Ascoviruses are insect viruses with special cytopathology, and they have been hypothesized to induce apoptosis in their host larvae via coding a caspase-like protein. This enables them to utilize the process of cellular apoptosis to facilitate vesicle formation and replication. However, our previous studies revealed different trends. The fat bodies and hemocytes of Heliothis virescens ascovirus 3h (HvAV-3h)-infected larvae did not show any morphological markers of apoptosis but did display necrosis and/or pyroptosis morphological characteristics. The pathogenic characteristics and infection patterns of HvAV-3h in the host larvae were described, which can help us understand the relationship between the pathogenesis of an insect virus and host RCD.
