Contamination of almonds and peppercorns during preharvest and postharvest has raised a safety concern. Contaminations may include spoilage or pathogenic microorganisms like Salmonella, Aspergillus species, and aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). A nonthermal waterless technology must be investigated and integrated into the processing of almonds and peppercorns to control the contamination. Gaseous chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a selective oxidant and powerful antimicrobial agent for decontaminating low moisture foods. There is a need to evaluate it on reducing a range of microorganisms and validate it from lab-scale to industrial-scale. Therefore, the goal of this research was to develop and validate batch gaseous (ClO2) fumigation to reduce the background and pathogenic microorganisms on whole black peppercorns and almonds, respectively, from lab-scale to industrial-scale. Batch gaseous ClO2 was designed to reduce the background microflora on peppercorns, validate E. faecium as a surrogate for Salmonella, and reduce A. flavus and AFB1 on almond kernels. The effect of gaseous ClO2 was also observed on the genetic defense mechanism of A. flavus. These results were used to develop the gaseous ClO2 fumigation technology on inhull almonds contaminated with A. flavus and background flora without affecting its quality (moisture content, lipid oxidation, and color). Finally, the engineering controls (moisture, gas concentration, flow, sample size, and application method) were assessed and optimized at pilot and industrial scales. Gaseous ClO2 demonstrated significant reductions of background microbial flora (90%) on peppercorns, Salmonella (99%) and E. faecium (97.5%) on almond kernels, A. flavus (99.6%) and AFB1 (84.4%) on kernels, and reductions of A. flavus (87.4%) and background flora (88.8%) on inhull almonds. The results highlighted the influence of external parameters on the ClO2 fumigation efficiency. Multiple pilot-scale treatments were designed using the lab-scale results. The results from pilot-scale treatments were translated into industrial pilot-scale stockpiled inhull almonds fumigation. After industrial pilot-scale treatments, the study recommends the usage of gaseous ClO2 as a postharvest fumigant to control pathogenic microorganisms on inhull almonds to enhance food safety. This information provides a foundation for the scale-up of gaseous ClO2 technology on low moisture foods adapted to commercial processing.

Human body fluids such as blood and saliva are the most common sources of biological trace material found at a crime scene. Over the last decade or so there has been a growing interest in saliva and its use as a tool in forensic odontology as an alternative to blood or urine. The added advantage of its noninvasive method of collection even by individuals with limited training, makes saliva a popular fluid for forensic analysis. Saliva is mainly looked for in cases of drug abuse, sexual assault, and in cases involving animal or human bites. This oral fluid has an immense role in linking of suspects or victims to a crime scene, as well as in establishing the identity of unknown individuals. This review details about the various application of saliva in the field of forensic odontology such as age, gender and blood group determination, drug, cigarette consumption detection to the storage of saliva samples for future references.

The genus Miniopterus is highly diverse in cryptic species. Based on integrated approaches of morphometrics, echolocation call analysis, and molecular phylogenetics, we present evidence of a hitherto undescribed species, Srini’s Bent-winged bat Miniopterus srinii sp. nov.. The new species, found in the Western Ghats of southern Karnataka, India, closely resembles the Small Bent-winged bat Miniopterus pusillus, found elsewhere in Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, India. Although it shows external similarity with Miniopterus pusillus sensu stricto from the Nicobar Islands, the new species is relatively larger and distinct in craniodental measurements and echolocation call parameters, despite slight overlaps. Importantly, Miniopterus srinii exhibits morphological convergence with Miniopterus pusillus as despite similarities in morphologies, there is a significant genetic distance of 10.84 ± 0.22%. The new cryptic species shares distribution with Miniopterus phillipsi and Miniopterus pusillus in the Western Ghats, further highlighting the need to study both the genus’ cryptic diversity, and the region’s conservation importance.

The field experiment was carried out during the Zaid season of 2022 at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj (U.P.) India. To study the response of sulphur and zinc on the growth and yield of Pearl millet. The treatments consist of sulphur @ 20, 30 and 40 kg/ha and zinc @ 5, 10 and15 kg/ha. There were 9 treatments each replicated thrice. The soil of the experimental plot was sandy loamy in texture, nearly neutral in soil reaction (pH 7.8), low in organic carbon (0.35%), available N (163.42 kg/ha), available P (21.96 kg/ha) and available K (256.48 kg/ha). Results revealed that the higher plant height (198.06 cm), plant dry weight (75.83 g/plant), crop growth rate (47.70 g/m2 /day), ear head length (25.2 cm), grains/ear head (2006.0), test weight (8.57 gm), higher grain yield (40.95 q/ha) and higher stover yield (40.95 q/ha) were significantly influenced with the application of sulphur 40 kg/ha + zinc 15 kg/ha. Higher gross returns (INR 92145.00/ha), higher net returns (INR 62365.00/ha) and a higher B: C ratio (2.09) were also recorded in treatment-9 (sulphur 40 kg/ha+zinc 15 kg/ha).

With the intent of reducing carbon footprints on the energy used for a Commercial unit in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India has considered going with a 300KW Solar PV Power Plant connected to Grid with a Grid Intertie Inverter to convert generated DC power from Solar to AC Power. Thus, the latest Photovoltaic Technology called Mono facial has been used with a 550Wp PV Module has been utilized to generate desired energy from the system. The goal of this project is to demonstrate the feasibility of solar power as a reliable source of clean energy, and to contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable energy system. The proposed plant is at a location in Resapuvanipalem, Dwarakanagar, Visakhapatnam District with 15 Deg Fixed tilt and detailed aspects of Engineering, procurement and construction were considered to generate a minimum 14000KWh per year and the same is captured within this paper.

Saving the crop that is being dried after harvesting is the main objective of the endeavor. The problem must be resolved because post-harvest loss makes for 10% of the crop’s overall loss. India produces about 150 million tons of food grains per year. However, 15 million tons of those grains are lost during the process of harvest. It’s more than 10%. Farmers need to dry their crops after harvesting them, but they are unaware of sudden rainstorms and animals eating their harvests while they dry. If the farmer’s home is far from the spot where the grains were spread out to dry, when he arrives, the entire harvest has already been ruined by rain or animals. One can protect themselves from sudden downpours and from animals devouring the grains by using a protective shield after detecting the rain and making a buzzer sound to approach the animals. Here, a PIR sensor is utilized to detect animal movement while a rain sensor is used to detect precipitation. The Raspberry Pi receives the sensing signals, analyzes them, and then send the mail to the farmer if rain is detected using PuTTY software, VNC viewer and SMTP libraries.

Bone graft is the gold standard materials used for repairing bony defects. There are various bone graft materials/biomaterials and methods available for bone augmentation. The present article explains in detail about bone grafts and the recent advancements in bone graft materials as well as bone augmentation in implant dentistry.The literature search was performed for relevant articles on bone grafts for dental implants in PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Science Direct published in English literature published between January 2005 and March 2023. Relevant studies on bone grafts for dental implants were also included and critically analyzed in this review. Various biomaterials can be used to augment bone for implant placement. Each graft procedure has its own advantages and disadvantages in each clinical application and should choose the graft material carefully to attain a high success rate and less morbidity.

Background: Acute poisoning is a common and life-threatening crisis, leading to serious complications and death of patients. Poisoning may be due to self-consumption, accidental exposure of chemical compounds, medications and poisonous animal bites/stings. Aim of current study was to investigate the pattern of drug utilization, poisoning agents and outcome in patients with acute poisoning treated at a tertiary care teaching hospital, Vadodara, Gujarat. Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study was done on patients of acute poisoning admitted in emergency department, SSG Hospital during August 2021-March 2022. Results: 400 patients were enrolled during the study, from which 262 (65.50%) were male and 138 (34.50%) were female. Mean age of patients was 30.30 ± 13.79 years. The commonest mode of poisoning observed was Suicidal (66.25%). The most common cause of poisoning was due to Pesticides (33.25%), followed by venomous animal exposures (30.75%). Death was recorded in 53 (13.25%) patients with highest number seen in suicidal poisoning (14.34%) compared to accidental poisonings (11.19%). Mainly, multivitamins (19.03%), Antimicrobials (16.65%), Proton Pump Inhibitors (15.85%) and Antiemetics (11.10%) were prescribed. Antidotes used were Atropine (4.81%), Pralidoxime (4.46%) and Anti-snake venom (2.80%). Median number of drugs per patient was 8; range: 2-25. Conclusions: Pattern and magnitude of poisoning are multidimensional and demand multi-sectoral approach for facing this problem. Due to high incidence of snakebites, hospital stockpiles should be regularly checked for availability of antivenom. There is a need for stringent pesticide regulation laws, counselling and training programs to reduce incidence of poisonings and deaths due to it.

Aim: To assess prevalence and morphometrics of lingual foramen and lingual canals using Cone Beam Computerised Tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective observational study, in which 144 CBCT scans were obtained from the archives of Department of Oral radiology, Vishnu dental college, Bhimavaram. Parameters such as number, location, length of the lingual canal, travel path of the lingual canals, distance from the lingual foramen to inferior border, in cases where extra foramen is present an additional criteria involving measurement of the distance between both the foramen was also evaluated. Statistical analysis was done using chi-square test and results were formulated. Results: Lingual foramen was a common observation in all of the examined CBCT scans and 21% of scans showed two lingual foramen. The average distance from the Inferior Lingual Foramen (ILF) to Inferior Border (IB) was 3.3 ± 1.0 mm. The mean length of the Superior Lingual Canal (SLC) was 4.2 ± 1.3mm and the mean length of the ILC (Inferior lingual canal) was 4.2 ± 1.2mm. The majority of the inferior lingual foramen (76%) were inclined and only 0.1% of foramen were vertical. Conclusion: Variations in the prevalence of the lingual foramen are observed due to variations in the ethnicity, geographic location. Detailed evaluation of these anatomic structures using CBCT help in prevention of the complications and will improve the treatment outcome.

In a country like India, where maternal mortality rate is still very high despite progress and development which has consistently been made in the health services, a big proportion is still deprived of it. Hypertension is the most common medical problem encountered during pregnancy. This study was undertaken to compare the efficacy of labetalol versus methyldopa in the treatment of pre-eclampsia and prevention of further complications. The present study had been carried out on antenatal booked 110 cases between 20 – 40 years of age who developed hypertension after 20 weeks period of gestation with or without oedema & proteinuria or both, attending antenatal OPD or Emergency at Govt General Hospital, Nizamabad, from 1st December 2017 to 31may 2018. : Incidence of PIH in the present study is 7.23% in the booked population. Side effects of drugs were reported more in methyldopa group as compared to labetalol. Adverse foetal outcomes, especially IUGR and pre term babies are more in methyldopa group as compared to labetalol group. Emergency lscs cases are 14 out of 55 in labetalol group,22 out of 55 in methyldopa group were noted. Most common indication for emergency LSCS in both the groups was uncontrolled hypertension, but cases are more in methyldopa group. in Labetalol group 7 out of 55 underwent EL LSCS, in methyldopa group 6 out of 55 underwent LSCS. Total no of caesarean sections in labetalol group are 21 out of 55(32.7%),whereas in methyldopa group28 out of 55 (50.9%), so operative interference is more in methyldopa group when compared to labetalol group.: It concludes that labetalol is suitable for use during pregnancy to reduce maternal and fetal side-effects, so it has efficient hypotensive action.

BACKGROUND: Cerebral palsy is defined as "a series of permanent impairments of the development of movement and posture, generating activity restrictions". This study mainly focusses on improving function of upper extremity by implementing treatment protocols Constraint Induced Movement Therapy and Bimanual Training. The main aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of constraint induced movement therapy and bimanual training to improve the function of upper extremity in children with Unilateral Cerebral Palsy. METHODS: Prospective Study Design. 64 subjects were randomly allocated into two groups. Each group containing 32 subjects. Group-I (n=32) Constraint Induced Movement Therapy and Group-II (n=32) Bimanual Training. Participants received 5 sessions per week for 4 weeks. The outcome measures of this intervention were measured by using Jebsen Taylor Hand Function Test. RESULTS: ANOVA was used to compare the mean significance difference between both groups and within the groups by taking Pre-Test, Intermediate Test and Post-Test scores. Statistical analysis of the data revealed that between the groups and within the group comparison, both groups showed improvement in all parameters. But Constraint Induced Movement Therapy showed significant improvement. CONCLUSION: From the finding of this study, it can be recommended that the Constraint Induced Movement Therapy may be opted for improving hand function in children with Unilateral Cerebral Palsy as an adjuvant treatment technique for Unilateral Cerebral Palsy children. A control strategy for power flow management of a grid-connected hybrid photovoltaic (PV)–wind-battery- based system with an efficient multi-input transformer-coupled bidirectional dc–dc converter is presented. The proposed system aims to satisfy the load demand, manage the power flow from different sources, inject the surplus power into the grid, and charge the battery from the grid as and when required. A transformer-coupled boost half-bridge converter is used to harness power from wind, while a bidirectional buck– boost converter is used to harness power from PV along with battery charging/discharging control. A single-phase full-bridge bidirectional converter is used for feeding ac loads and interaction with the grid. The proposed converter architecture has reduced number of power conversion stages with less component count and reduced losses compared with existing grid-connected hybrid systems. This improves the efficiency and the reliability of the system. Simulation results obtained using MATLAB/Simulink show the performance of the proposed control strategy for power flow management under various modes of operation. The effectiveness of the topology and the efficacy of the proposed control strategy are validated through detailed experimental studies to demonstrate the capability of the system operation in different modes.

Objectives: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a common, benign lesion of vascular origin. It may rapidly grow in response to an unknown stimulus that triggers endothelial proliferation. The treatment of PG using sclerosing agents is a novel approach to overcome drawbacks associated with other procedures. The crucial purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of detergent sclerosant, sodium tetradecyl sulphate (STS) in the management of PG. Materials and Methods: A total of 18 patients with PG, attending dermatology venereology and leprosy (DVL) outpatient department (OPD) were treated with sclerotherapy after obtaining written and informed consent. STS solution (3%, 30 mg/mL) was injected with insulin syringe slowly into the lesion until the lesion blanched up to maximum amount of 0.3 mL. Injection was repeated every week until resolution or up to maximum of 4 doses. Follow-up evaluation was performed monthly, up to 3 months. Results: In our study, complete resolution was seen in all the patients. No complication occurred after injection. All the patients were followed up for 3 months and none of the lesions recurred over this duration. Conclusion: Sclerotherapy is effective and safe in the treatment of PG without any recurrence. This approach may become a first-line therapy option for PG, especially in cases of recurrent PG associated with bleeding, and in lesions over surgically inaccessible areas.

In this article, the numerical study of the influence of a magnetic field at the laminar forced convection in a thermally developing region coming under the influence of local thermal non-equilibrium (LTNE) of parallel plate channels completely immersed in the porous material is investigated. Constant wall heat flux boundary conditions are applied to the walls of the channel. In the nonlinear flow model, the Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer equation governs the flow field in the porous region, which is assumed to be unidirectional. The system is defined by certain well-known parameters, these being Darcy number (Da), thermal conductivity ratio (κ), Forchheimer number (F), Hartmann number (M), and Biot number (Bi). Numerical solutions have been obtained by applying a successive accelerated replacement (SAR) scheme. Exact solutions for the dimensionless temperature and the fully developed Nusselt number in the absence of the Forchheimer number (F = 0), for the fully developed thermal field, are obtained for the linear flow model, the Darcy-Brinkman model. Plots are given for the dimensionless temperature profiles in the fluid and solid phases, wall temperature, as well as the local Nusselt number at the parallel plate channel, which has been displayed. The effect of the magnetic field and the thermal conductivity ratio has a significant effect on the local Nusselt number.

Driving behaviour is a critical issue in modern transportation systems due to the increasing concerns about the safety of drivers, passengers, and road users. Machine learning models are capable of learning driving patterns from sensor data and recognizing individuals by their driving behaviours. This paper presents a novel framework for aggressive driving detection and driver classification based on driving events identified from GPS data collected with smartphones and heart rate of the driver captured with a wearable device. The proposed system for road rage and aggressive driving detection (RAD) is realized with an integral framework with components for data acquisition, event detection, driver classification, and model interpretability. The system is implemented by generating a prediction model by training machine learning classifiers with a dataset collected in a cohort to classify drivers into good, unhealthy, road rage, and always bad. The proposed system is to improve road safety and to customize insurance premiums in the best interest of policy holders and insurance companies.

Fog computing is one of the emerging forms of cloud computing which aims to satisfy the ever-increasing computation demands of the mobile applications. Effective offloading of tasks leads to increased efficiency of the fog network, but at the same time it suffers from various uncertainty issues with respect to task demands, fog node capabilities, information asymmetry, missing information, low trust, transaction failures, and so on. Several machine learning techniques have been proposed for the task offloading in fog environments, but they lack efficiency. In this paper, a novel uncertainty proof Type-2-Soft-Set (T2SS) enabled apprenticeship learning based task offloading framework is proposed which formulates the optimal task offloading policies. The performance of the proposed T2SS based apprenticeship learning is compared and found to be better than Q-learning and State-Action-Reward-State-Action (SARSA) learning techniques with respect to performance parameters such as total execution time, throughput, learning rate, and response time.

OBJECTIVE Pain outcomes by race in trigeminal neuralgia (TN) are not well investigated. The authors aimed to compare microvascular decompression (MVD) outcomes in TN patients on the basis of self-identified race. METHODS The authors retrospectively reviewed all patients with TN who underwent MVD at their institution from 2007 to 2020. Each patient’s self-reported race was recorded, and Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) scores for pain and numbness were compared. Factors associated with pain recurrence were assessed using survival analyses and multivariate regressions. RESULTS Of 1011 patients, 925 reported their racial demographic characteristics, and patients who identified as Native American or American Indian and Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander were excluded due to small sample sizes. Of the resulting 921 patients, 697 (75.7%) patients identified as White, 108 (11.7%) as Black or African American, 39 (4.2%) as Asian, and 77 (8.4%) as other. Compared with White patients, Black TN patients were more likely to present with type 1 TN (p = 0.02). At final follow-up, the mean BNI pain score of Black patients was significantly higher (p < 0.001) compared with that of White patients, although pain scores did not differ preoperatively. The adjusted multivariate ordinal regression model showed that Black patients were associated with higher BNI pain scores at final follow-up (p = 0.01). Furthermore, compared with White patients, Black patients were at increased risk for postoperative pain recurrence (p = 0.04), which additionally occurred after a shorter median pain-free duration (p = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS TN patients who identify as Black or African American exhibit worse postoperative pain outcomes after MVD compared with White patients. Future studies investigating the factors driving these racial differences are warranted.

In response to the growing popularity of social web apps, much research has gone into analyzing and developing an AI-based responsive suggestion system. Machine learning and neural networks come in many forms that help online students choose the best texts for their studies. However, when training recommendation models to deal with massive amounts of data, traditional machine learning approaches require additional training models. As a result, they are deemed inappropriate for the personalized recommender generation of learning systems. In this paper, we examine LSTM-based strategies in order to make useful recommendations for future research.

A 66 years old female with diabetes and hypertension was evaluated for a lump in the left breast of six months duration, the lump was gradually increasing in size. On clinical examination it was found that the lump measured 4x4cm and was present in the left upper outer quadrant and was non tender. As a part of metastatic work up a PET CT was done which showed metabolically active lobulated soft tissue density mass lesion with multiple satellite nodules in left breast upper and outer quadrant measuring 3.2x2.1x4.4cms with max SUV 4.4, the lesion maintained fat planes with skin anteriorly and muscles posteriorly. Multiple non FDG avid to mildly FDG avid sub cm to cm size soft tissue density lesion in left breast around the main lesion was noted. Non FDG avid multiple sub cm left axillary lymph nodes were also present. Imageologically Stage II disease. Biopsy from the breast lesion was invasive carcinoma of nos type. Patient underwent left sided MRM. The final pathological staging was pT2N1a.Section from one lymph node showed partially effaced lymph node architecture with sheets of medium to large sized atypical lymphoid cells with fine chromatin prominent nucleolus and scant cytoplasm. IHC done showed the tumor cells to be positive for CD20, CD45, CD15, CD30(40%), MUM1, cmyc (30%) and negative for CK, CD3, EBV, ALK, BCL-2CD10, SOX11, Ki67-60%. The final diagnosis was Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, non-germinal center type.

Placental examination can yield valuable information that may be essential to enhance our understanding of disease pathogenesis and to identify underlying causes of adverse pregnancy outcomes. There is increasing evidence that COVID-19 infection leaves tell-tale signs of injuries in the placenta. To study histopathological features of placenta of covid 19 positive mothers. Prospective observational study. Out of fifteen placenta histopathological changes observed, intervillous fibrin deposition was most common finding that was present in 6 placenta (40%); calcifications, chorangiosis in 4 placenta(26.6%); deciduitis, thrombosis were present in 3 placentas(20%)respectively; increased fibrinoid material, decidual vasculopathy, chorioamnionitis were present in 1 placenta(6.6%)respectively. Out of fifteen infants, 13(86.6%) infants were term (>37weeks) and 2(13.3%) infants were preterm ( Placenta histopathological findings were suggestive of maternal vascular malperfusion like increased intervillous fibrin deposition, chorangiosis, deciduitis, calcifications, thrombosis and the findings were correlated with fetal outcome like preterm deliveries, small for gestational age, IUGR, respiratory distress requiring respiratory support.

Distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) is one of the most frequently occurring network attacks. Because of rapid growth in the communication and computer technology, the DDoS attacks became severe. So, it is essential to research the detection of a DDoS attack. There are different modes of DDoS attacks because of which a single method cannot provide good security. To overcome this, a DDoS attack detection technique is presented in this paper using machine learning algorithm. The proposed method has two phases, dimensionality reduction and model training for attack detection. The first phase identifies important components from the large proportion of the internet data. These extracted components are used as machine learning’s input features in the phase of model detection. Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm is used to train the features and learn the model. The experimental results shows that the proposed method detects DDoS attacks with good accuracy.

Context Regular genetic monitoring of rice diversity provides informed direction for plant breeders when selecting parents in breeding programs. Aims The investigation was conducted to assess the trends of decade-wise genetic diversity in popular Indian rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes. Methods We screened 62 genotypes including popular rice varieties released from the 1970s to 2010s in India along with landraces, using gene-specific markers and some of the key yield and yield-contributing traits. Key results Using gene-specific markers, genetic diversity has shown a downward trend from landraces to the 2010s. Qualitative analysis revealed that more alleles were present in landraces than released varieties. The disappearance of alleles was prominently observed in varieties released in the 1970s and even more so in the 2010s, which suggests that present-day cultivars are losing several valuable alleles of the key yield genes. Genetic diversity assessed using phenotypic data also exhibited a downward trend towards the 2010s. Molecular and phenotypic data on genetic diversity were used to group the rice genotypes, revealing that genotypes with common parents grouped together. Conclusions Genetic diversity has shown a downward trend from landraces to the 2010s, as assessed using both gene-specific markers and phenotypic data, although with slight deviations among various decades. Implications This study reinforces the fact that assessment of temporal trends in genetic diversity at regular intervals is warranted to meet future food demands while conserving on-farm crop diversity.

Objectives: Cardiovascular risk factors (e.g., diabetes and hypertension) are comorbidities associated with cognitive impairment. The present study was planned to study the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and cognitive impairment using General Practitioner assessment of Cognition (GPCOG) scale, which is easy to use scale in the primary care. Materials and Methods: A total of 350 older adults (mean age=66.71 ± 6.53 years; M:F = 220:130) among 3000 who reported to the primary care center in West India were screened. Cardiovascular risk factors were assessed based on written medical records. GPCOG was used for cognitive screening of those over the age of 60 with subjective memory complaints. Results: Frequency of cardiovascular (CV) risk factors in those with cognitive impairment was 46.2% (n = 162/350) and 29% (101/350) in those without cognitive impairment. A Chi-square test of proportion showed values to be statistically significantly different (Chi-square value = 22.04; P =< 0.001; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 10.0463–24.1076%). Odds ratio was found to be 1.6 (95% CI =2–2.1; P =< 0.05). Conclusion: A higher CV risk factors were observed among those with cognitive impairment compared to those cognitively normal older adults in the primary care.

Various attempts are being carried out for automating the applications of house. Automation itself has many limitations with respect to cost and accuracy. In this context, virtual assistant plays a key role. In this work, we are planning a smart virtual assistant to illustrate the implementation of various voice commands and perform various tasks or services to an individual. The functions of these tasks or services are based on user input and mainly depends on the ability to access information from an enormous online sources (such as weather report, time and playing music for us etc). Raspberry Pi is used as the key hardware for implementing this project and its essential primary input considered is user’s voice. Whenever the information is fetched through the voice commands, it will produce the appropriate output. In-addition to this, some extra modules have been used for implementing voice to text conversions and controlling home appliances. This type of application will be more helpful for the persons who are partially or completely blind, by giving them access to Wikipedia, Calculator, Email and Music. From the results, we could attain the features like knowing the time and date, switching on and off of the lights, making a call to a registered mobile number and start/stop of fan. Finally, it can act as a main source of information and entertainment for visually impaired persons.

Combining β-CD with sulfonic surfactants yielded a novel nanotubular architecture which enhanced the rheological properties in aqueous phases.

The present study reports the synthesis of isonicotinic acid hydrazide incorporated 7-(substituted benzylidine)-3-aryl-1-(pyridin-4-yl)-methanone)-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1H-indazoles from substituted chalcones. The chalcones were synthesized by reacting cyclohexanone with a substituted aromatic aldehydes via the Claisen-Schmidt method. The IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral studies were used to characterize the synthesized compounds. In silico analysis was used to anticipate the biological activities of the synthezised compounds. PASS computer program predicted all title compounds to be anti-inflammatory in nature. All the synthesized compounds were screened for MMP-9 inhibitory activity by the gelatin zymography method. Among all the synthesized compounds B1, B3, B4 and B9 exhibited significant activity whereas rest of the synthesized compounds B2, B5, B6, B7 and B8 exhibited mild to moderate anti-inflammatory activity.

We identified twenty-two new sacubitril derivatives (5a–v) as lead compounds for various biologically active targets.

Nowadays criminal activities are growing at an exponential rate. Crime prevention by effective identification of criminals is the main issue before the police and on the other hand, the availability of police officers is inadequate. There are various technological solutions for detecting criminals but they are not up to the mark. In this project, a face detection and recognition system for criminal identification is developed using the multi-task cascade neural network. This system will be able to detect faces and recognize faces of criminals automatically in real-time. This system would also just require a single image of the criminal to recognize him, also known as one-shot learning. The purpose is to identify the criminal face, retrieve the information stored in the database for the identified criminal and a notification is sent to the police personnel with all the details and the location at which he was under the surveillance of the camera.
