Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic performances of abbreviated protocol (AP) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), AP combined with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and full dynamic protocol (FDP) in the differentiation of breast cancers from benign breast diseases. Materials and Methods: The total study population consisted of 68 patients who underwent breast MRI (1.5 Tesla) between January 2016 and December 2021 for the evaluation of suspicious findings on mammography or ultrasonography. All lesions were evaluated by 2 radiologists using AP, AP+DWI, and FDP. The reader sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were analyzed using the “Chi-squared” test. The inter-observer agreement (IOA) between the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) category assessments of the two readers was evaluated by using the “Kappa statistics”. Results: Sixty-eight patients with 72 lesions (31 malignant and 41 benign) were analyzed. The sensitivity/specificity for AP and AP+DWI for reader 1 was 67.7/90.2% and 80.6/87.8%, respectively, and for reader 2 was 67.7/92.6% and 70.9/90.2%, respectively. The sensitivity/specificity for FDP for reader 1 was 83.7/85.3% and for reader 2 was 80.6/90.2%. The IOA in the BI-RADS category assessment was almost perfect in all models between two readers (the kappa value was 0.907, 0.825, and 0.858 in AP, AP+DWI, and FDP, respectively). Conclusion: FDP showed greater diagnostic efficiency in the characterization of tumor biology as compared to AP and AP +DWI. Combining AP with DWI improved the diagnostic performance of MRI for the determination of malignancy.

Gaining communication skills, one of the life skills included in the science curriculum, plays an essential role in reducing the conflicts that may occur in individuals’ communication. The fact that pre-service science teachers have professional knowledge about this skill is an indication that they can teach this skill to their students. Based on this idea, the current research aims to examine the effect of the life skills education guidebook on the development of pre-service science teachers’ professional knowledge of communication skills. The simple experimental method with a single group pretest-posttest design was employed in the research. The research sample consists of 83 pre-service science teachers studying at a state university in the 2019-2020 academic year. The communication skills professional recognition test was used as the data collection tool. The data obtained were evaluated within the framework of the determined keywords and subjected to descriptive analysis. The pretest-posttest scores of the pre-service science teachers were compared with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The test result shows that the life skills education guidebook positively affects the development of the third-grade pre-service science teacher’s professional knowledge about communication skills. The qualitative data obtained show that the professional knowledge of science teacher candidates regarding communication skills has increased from the level that needs to be developed to a weakly acceptable level. It has been revealed that the lack of prior professional knowledge of the pre-service teachers regarding communication skills makes it challenging to learn new professional knowledge., Fen bilimleri dersi öğretim programında yer alan yaşam becerilerinden biri olan iletişim becerisini kazanmak, bireylerin iletişime geçmede meydana gelebilecek çatışmaların azaltılmasında önemli rol oynamaktadır. Fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının bu beceriye yönelik mesleki bilgiye sahip olmaları ise öğrencilerine bu beceriyi öğretebileceklerinin göstergesidir. Bu fikirden yola çıkarak mevcut araştırma, yaşam becerileri eğitimi kılavuzunun fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının iletişim becerisine yönelik mesleki bilgilerinin gelişimi üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada tek gruplu ön test-son test tasarımlı basit deneysel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2019-2020 akademik yılında bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 83 fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak iletişim becerisini mesleki tanıma testinden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, belirlenen anahtar kelimeler çerçevesinde değerlendirilerek betimsel analize tabi tutulmuştur. Fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının ön test ve son test puanları Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testi ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Test sonucu yaşam becerileri eğitimi kılavuzunun üçüncü sınıf fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının iletişim becerisine yönelik mesleki bilgilerinin gelişimi üzerinde olumlu etkisi olduğunu göstermektedir. Elde edilen nitel veriler ise fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının iletişim becerisine yönelik mesleki bilgilerinin geliştirilmesi gereken düzeyden zayıf derecede kabul edilebilir düzeye çıktığını göstermektedir. Öğretmen adaylarının iletişim becerisine yönelik mesleki ön bilgilerinin yetersiz olmasının yeni mesleki bilgileri öğrenmeyi zorlaştırdığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

Giriş: Çalışmanın amacı, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bölümü’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin fiziksel aktivite düzeyleri ve sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışlarının belirlenmesi ve ilişkilendirilmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören toplam 220 (kadın:149, erkek:71 ) fizyoterapi öğrencisi gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Öğrencilerin fiziksel aktivite düzeylerini belirlemede “Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Değerlendirme Anketi” (inaktif, minimum aktif ve aktif olarak MET yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir) kısa formu kullanılırken, sağlıklı yaşam davranışlarının belirlenmesinde “Sağlıklı Yaşam Biçimi Davranışları Ölçeği II” kullanılmıştır. Sağlıklı Yaşam Biçimi Davranışları Ölçeği alt parametreleri; sağlık sorumluluğu (SS), fiziksel aktivite (FA), beslenme (B), manevi gelişim (MG), kişilerarası ilişkiler (Kİ), stres yönetimi (SY) olarak belirlenmiştir. In addition to its ecological effects, planting designs help to obtain a more whole and aesthetic landscape by softening the harsh appearance of the built environment, reducing the visually disturbing features, creating more pleasing and inviting spaces, and integrating the structures into the environment. Plants have become a material that is frequently encountered in many buildings, used to make the space attractive and increase productivity. Shopping centers, where people spend their free time and have social relations, are among the places where planting designs are frequently used, with circulation areas symbolizing streets and squares and spaces supporting recreational activities. In the study, the use of plant materials in the interiors of shopping centers is discussed through the example of the Forum Trabzon. The study consists of 3 stages. In the first stage, a literature background was created by researching the use of plant materials in interiors and shopping centers. The second stage includes the steps of obtaining the data related to the study area, revealing the plant use types in the study area and examining them in the context of functionality, naturalness (living/artificial), mobility (fixed/mobile), and design method (solitary/group). In the third stage, all the collected data was turned into a summary table and the results related to functionality, mobility, naturalness, and design method were revealed in line with the obtained data. Evaluation of the criteria determined in this study, in which planting design is handled through shopping malls, can be a reference for future studies in spaces that serve different purposes.

Bu çalışmada amaç: aile planlaması danışmanlıklarının verildiği, prekonsepsiyonel bakımın sağlandığı aile sağlığı merkezlerine (ASM) aile planlaması danışmanlığı için başvuran kadınların gebelik öncesi doğum korkusunu değerlendirmektir.Araştırmanın evrenini Sivas il merkezindeki bir ASM’de 15 Mart -14 Mayıs 2019 tarihleri arasında aile planlaması için başvuru yapan kadınlar oluşturmuştur. Kadınlara ASM’de yer alan aile planlaması odasında, araştırmacılar tarafından araştırmanın amacı açıklandıktan ve bilgilendirilmiş onamları alındıktan sonra çalışmaya katılmayı kabul edenlere soru formları uygulanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu Ölçeği (GÖDKÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden kadınların %51,1’i başka çocuk istemediğini ifade ederken, aile planlaması kullanma nedeni olarak ise %46,7’si tekrar gebelik düşünmediğinden aile planlaması kullandığını ifade etmiştir. Kadınların en çok bildiği ve kullandıkları aile planlaması yöntemleri arasında ilk üç sırayı %84,4 ile kondom, %83,3 ile doğum kontrol hapı ve %76,7 ile geri çekme yöntemleri olduğu bulunmuştur. Kadınların ölçekten almış oldukları puan ortalaması 35,31±10,086’dır. Madde toplam puanın yüksek olması yüksek düzeyde korkuyu göstermektedir. KGÖ-DKÖ’den elde edilen toplam puanların değişkenler ile olan karşılaştırmasına göre; eğitim durumu lise mezunu olanların (39,59±9,109) ölçekten almış oldukları puan ortalamasının diğer eğitim düzeylerinden yüksek olduğu ve aralarında istatistiksel anlamda anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir (p, The aim of this study was to evaluate the fear of childbirth before pregnancy in women who present to family health centers (FHC) for family planning counseling, where family planning counseling and prenatal care are provided.The population of the research consisted of women who applied for family planning between 15 March-14 May 2019 to a FHC in Sivas city center, and 90 women participated in the study. The researchers informed the women about the purpose of the study in the family planning room in the FHC, and questionnaires were applied to those whose consents were obtained and who agreed to participate in the study. As data collection tool, Personal Information Form and Pre-pregnancy Fear of Childbirth Scale (PPFOCBS) was used. 51.1% of women who agreed to participate in the research stated that they did not want another child, while 46.7% of them stated that they used family planning because they did not plan any pregnancy again. Among the family planning methods that women knew and used the most, condom with 84.4%, birth control pill with 83.3% and withdrawal method with 76.7% were found to be the first three methods. The mean PPFOCBS score of the women was 35.31±10.086. A high item total score indicates a high level of pre-pregnancy fear of childbirth. Geçmişten günümüze kadar insanlar yaşadıkları çevreyi oluşturma ve düzenleme eğiliminde olmuşlardır. İnsanlar düzenlediği bu mekanlara zamanla oluşan ihtiyaçlarına yönelik yeniden kurgulamış ve yeni anlamlar yüklemiştir. Böylece mekanları oluşturan her bir öğe kullanıcısının ihtiyaç ve isteklerine göre çeşitli fonksiyonlar üstlenerek farklı mekan organizasyonları ortaya çıkmıştır. Mekan ve birey arasındaki ilişki aidiyet ve kendileme gibi olguların etkisiyle mekanın örgütlenme biçimi ile görünür bir hale gelmekte ve somut bir kimliğe bürünmektedir. İnsanların günün büyük bir bölümünü çalışarak geçirdiği düşünüldüğünde bunun mekan örgütlenmesi ve birey ilişkisinin en iyi örneklerinden birine ofis mekanlarında rastlamak mümkündür. Bundan yola çıkarak çalışmada ofis mekanları ele alınmış ve ofis mekanlarında mekanın örgütlenmesinde bireyin yeri ve birey için etkin faktörlerin neler olduğu araştırılmıştır. Ofis mekanlarında çoğu zaman mekanın mobilya ve örgütlenmesinin başlangıçta aynı olduğu, kullanılmaya başlandıkça değiştirildiği gözlemlenmektedir. Bu noktadan yola çıkarak bireyin mekan örgütlenmesinde en etkin faktör olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışmada aynı büyüklükte ve aynı tip mobilyalara sahip ofislerde mekan örgütlenmesinde birey için etkin faktörler, öne çıkardığı noktalar ve bunun temelindeki nedenler araştırılmaktadır. Bunun için Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Mimarlık Fakültesi binasında bulunan akademik ofisler çalışma alanı olarak seçilmiştir. Yapılan anket ve yerinde tespit çalışmaları ile veriler elde edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak ofislerde mekan örgütlenmesi kişisel özellikler, tercihler, mekanının fiziksel konfor koşulları, estetik ve güvenlik gibi mekansal özellikler ve bireysel özelliklere bağlı olarak kurgulandığı ve bu noktada bireyin tavrı ve mekanla kurduğu ilişkinin etkili olduğu görülmektedir.

Анотація. За останні роки збільшується кількість осіб, залучених до відеоігор, і стрімкого розвитку набуває кіберспорт. Однак через масовий та хаотичний розвиток і поширення відеоігор у світі виникають проблеми чіткого розуміння та виокремлення основних структурних елементів їх функціонування та, як наслідок, і кіберспорту. Такий розвиток викликає нерозуміння та негативне ставлення до кіберспорту в суспільстві порівняно з класичним спортом. Тому важливим питанням є необхідність дослідження основних засад розвитку кіберспорту, виокремлення його структурних компонентів, механізмів функціонування та визначення його місця в сучасному суспільстві. Мета. Формування комплексного уявлення про кіберспорт як сучасний вид спорту для перспектив його розвитку. Методи. Аналіз, синтез, порівняння, узагальнення літературних, науково-теоретичних та інформаційних джерел; аналіз відеоматеріалів, методи математичної статистики. Результати. Виокремлено структуру кіберспорту, що розподіляється на масовий геймінг та власне кіберспорт. У ході дослідження сфери діяльності кіберспорту встановлено взаємозв’язок її основних елементів, що включають масовий геймінг, стримінг та виготовлення мультимедійного контенту, спонсорство і ліцензійну діяльність, виробництво відеоігор та їх підтримку, виготовлення електронної техніки. Розглянуто взаємозв’язок структурних елементів сфери кіберспорту, охарактеризовано тріаду «гравець–гра–пристрій», що безпосередньо впливає на можливості залучення осіб до кіберспорту, на ефективність їх виступів та можливості подальшого розвитку ігрової індустрії. Ці елементи постійно взаємодіють між собою та мають стійку залежність від соціально-економічного стану держави. Систематизовано медіа-контент, що є невід’ємною частиною кіберспорту, через особливості його функціонування у мережі Інтернет, а також охарактеризовано основні різновиди мультимедійного контенту та їх специфіку. Виділено соціальні елементи взаємодії між гравцями, переваги і недоліки, які вони мають, що безпосередньо впливає на ігрову аудиторію кіберспортивних дисциплін. Background Gelastic seizures are extremely rare, short-lasting, unprovoked, and uncontrollable laughing attacks. We conducted this retrospective evaluation to determine whether these symptoms, manifesting in different forms, such as cheerful laughter, laughing, smiling, and sobbing had any value in terms of etiology or localization. Methods A total of 31 patients who exhibited bouts of laughing or crying and who were under follow-up between 2000 and 2019 at tertiary epilepsy centers were included in the study. Laughing seizures were divided into three groups in terms of semiology (i.e., laughter with mirth, laughter without mirth, and smile). Dacrystic seizures were accompanied by some gelastic seizures and were divided into two groups in terms of semiology (i.e., weeping loudly [motor and voice-sobbing] and crying). Results Of the 27 patients with laughing seizures, 12 had seizures that manifested with smiling, 7 had seizures that manifested with laughing and mirth, and 8 had seizures that manifested with laughter without mirth. Dacrystic-gelastic seizures were observed in four patients, among whom 2 patients had crying and laughter without mirth and 2 patients had weeping loudly and laughter without mirth episodes. Conclusion Gelastic and dacrystic seizures often suggest hypothalamic hamartomas, in the literature. This rare ictal behavior can originate from different cortical locations and lesions of a different nature. However, we found that gelastic seizures with smiling were a more homogenous group with regard to location in the temporal lobe, which we aimed to show by evaluating the patients included in this study. Resumo Antecedentes Crises gelásticas são ataques de riso extremamente raros, de curta duração, não provocados e incontroláveis. Realizamos esta avaliação retrospectiva para determinar se esses sintomas, manifestando-se de diferentes formas, como riso alegre, riso, sorriso e soluço, tinham algum valor em termos de etiologia ou localização. Métodos Foram incluídos no estudo 31 pacientes que apresentavam crises de riso ou choro e que estavam em acompanhamento entre 2000 e 2019 em centros terciários de epilepsia. As crises de riso foram divididas em três grupos em termos de semiologia (ou seja, riso com alegria, riso sem alegria e sorriso). As crises dacrísticas foram acompanhadas por algumas crises gelásticas e foram divididas em dois grupos em termos de semiologia (ou seja, choro alto [motor e soluçar a voz] e choro). Resultados Dos 27 pacientes com crises de riso, 12 tiveram crises que se manifestaram com sorriso, 7 tiveram crises que se manifestaram com riso e alegria e 8 tiveram crises que se manifestaram com riso sem alegria. Crises dácristico-gelásticas foram observadas em quatro pacientes, sendo 2 pacientes com choro e riso sem alegria e 2 pacientes com choro alto e riso sem alegria. Conclusão Crises gelásticas e dacrísticas frequentemente sugerem hamartomas hipotalâmicos, na literatura. Este comportamento ictal raro pode ter origem em diferentes localizações corticais e lesões de natureza diversa. No entanto, verificamos que as crises gelásticas com sorriso foram um grupo mais homogêneo quanto à localização no lobo temporal, o que buscamos evidenciar avaliando os pacientes incluídos neste estudo.

Automatic medical image segmentation is a crucial procedure for computer-assisted surgery. Especially, three-dimensional reconstruction of medical images of the surgical targets can be accurate in fine anatomical structures with optimal image segmentation, thus leading to successful surgical results. However, the performance of the automatic segmentation algorithm highly depends on the consistent properties of medical images. To address this issue, we propose a model for standardizing computed tomography (CT) images. Hence, our CT image-to-image translation network enables diverse CT images (non-standard images) to be translated to images with identical features (standard images) for the more precise performance of U-Net segmentation. Specifically, we combine an image-to-image translation network with a generative adversarial network, consisting of a residual block-based generative network and the discriminative network. Also, we utilize the feature extracting layers of VGG-16 to extract the style of the standard image and the content of the non-standard image. Moreover, for precise diagnosis and surgery, the conservation of anatomical information of the non-standard image is also essential during the synthesis of medical images. Therefore, for performance evaluation, largely three evaluation methods are employed: (i) visualization of the geometrical matching between the non-standard (content) and synthesized images to verify the maintenance of the anatomical structures; (ii) measuring numerical results using image similarity evaluation metrics; and (iii) assessing the performance of U-Net segmentation with our synthesized images. Specifically, we investigate that our model network can transfer the texture from standard CT images to diverse CT images (non-standard) scanned by different scanners and scan protocols. Also, we verify that the synthesized images can retain the global pose and fine structures of the non-standard images. We also compare the predicted segmentation result of the non-standard image and the synthesized image generated from its non-standard image via our proposed network. In addition, the performance of our proposed model is compared with the windowing process, where the window parameter of the standard image is applied to the non-standard image to ensure that our model outperforms the windowing process.

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, kapya tipi kırmızı biberin verim, toplam çözünür madde ve kuru maddesi üzerine heterosis, heterobeltiosis ve dominans etkisini belirlemektir. Yöntem ve Bulgular: Çalışmada 11 kapya tipi kırmızı biber ebeveyni ve bu ebeveynlerin melezlerinden elde edilen 47 hibrit materyal olarak kullanılmıştır. Meyve verimi yönünden heterosis oranları -48.23 ile 80.68 arasında değişmiştir. En yüksek heterosis sırasıyla 209 YKB (%80.68), 239 YKB (%60.35), 225 YKB (%56.97) ve 195 YKB’de (%55.30) tespit edilmiştir. Toplam çözünür madde açısından heterosis oranları -33.70 ile 30.98 arasında değişmiştir. En yüksek heterosis oranı 218 YKB'de belirlenmiştir. Kuru madde bakımından en yüksek heterosis oranı ise 195 YKB'de %66,67 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda hibritlerde en yüksek heterosis oranları veren ebeveynler genel olarak 39-H-2, 43-H-6 ve 45-H-5 olarak belirlenmiştir. Genel Yorum: Bu çalışmada heterosis oranları her üç özellik açısından da yüksek oranda pozitif yönde tespit edilmiştir. Heterosis kullanımı biberlerde verim ve diğer ekonomik özelliklerin artırılmasında pratik bir yöntem olarak gösterilebilir. Çalışmanın Önemi ve Etkisi: Elde edilen bu sonuçlar istenen özellikler bakımından öne çıkan çeşitlerin belirlenmesinde kullanılabilecektir.

In this paper, we define three different rotation-minimizing frames by rotating the moving frame around its coordinate axis vectors. Darboux vectors associated with these frames are obtained as special cases of the Darboux vector associated with the moving frame. Using these Darboux vectors and the moving frame we define six different developable surfaces. For each of these surfaces we give two invariants of curves on these surfaces to characterize their singularities. Moreover, we show that the base curves of these surfaces are contour generators with respect to an orthogonal projection or a central projection if and only if one of the invariants given for each surface is constantly equal to zero. Examples are provided to illustrate our theorems and results.

Bu çalışmada, telekomünikasyon sektörüne ilişkin yatırımlar, dış ticaret hacmi ve tüketim verileri dikkate alınarak telekomünikasyon sektörünün ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki önemi incelenmiştir. “Telekomünikasyon yatırımları” olarak telekomünikasyon ağı ve servislerini sağlayan kuruluşların maddi ve maddi olmayan varlıkların edinimi veya mevcutların yenilenmesi için yapmış oldukları yatırımlar, “telekomünikasyon dış ticaretine konu emtia ve hizmetler” için Dünya Ticaret Örgütü’nün sınıflandırması, “telekomünikasyon tüketimi” olarak ise mobil hat abonelik sayısı, sabit hat abonelik sayısı ve internet kullanıcı sayısı verileri dikkate alınmıştır. Telekomünikasyon ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisinin belirlenmesi için farklı bölgelerde ve farklı gelir düzeyindeki 44 ülke için 2000 – 2015 dönemine ait yıllık verileri ile dinamik panel veri modeli kullanılmıştır. Sistem GMM tahmin sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, ekonomik büyüme ile telekomünikasyon sektörüne yapılan yatırımlar, telekomünikasyon sektörüne ait dış ticaret hacmi ve telekomünikasyon tüketimi arasında literatür ile uyumlu olarak pozitif ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişkinin mevcut olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca sonuçlar, ülkelerin ekonomik büyümesinin, telekomünikasyon ürünlerinin dış ticaret işlemleri tarafından doğrudan teşvik edildiğini de ortaya koymaktadır.

This article examines the rise of the Köprülü grand viziers and their relationship with Sultan Mehmed IV (r. 1648–1687) within the context of broader developments in early modern Europe. It challenges the prevailing view that Mehmed IV was a weak Sultan, arguing that at a time of profound crisis the Sultan succeeded in creating a new political system, which simultaneously restored the authority of the Sultan whilst bolstering that of the Grand Vizier. It explores the various ways in which this system was established, from relocation of the dynastic seat to changes in recruitment networks. The reconfiguration of political power under Mehmed IV and the Köprülü viziers is approached through the lens of royal-favorite relationships in seventeenth-century Europe. Although there was no European equivalent of a number of elements in the Ottoman system, such as a harem-based court or the Grand Vizierate, we can nevertheless apply key concepts and debates gleaned from early modern Western and Central Europe – such as the politics of access and intimacy, the place of favorites, and the delegation of royal power – to enrich our understanding of the early modern Ottoman experience.

Metal matrix syntactic foams (MMSFs) are advance hybrid materials which reflect synergetic combination of particle reinforced composites and close cell metal foams. Recently, MMSFs have become considerably popular for several industrial areas because of their low density, high compression strength, good ductility and perfect energy absorption ability. In this paper, Al 7075/bubble alumina syntactic foams were fabricated by recyclable pressure infiltration casting method. Macroscopic and microscopic investigations showed that almost flawless infiltration was obtained between 2 – 4 mm hollow bubble alumina spheres and total porosity values of fabricated foams varied between % 43.2 and % 45.6. As for mechanical analyses, all foam samples were subjected to quasi-static compression test (1 mm/min deformation rate) and their crucial properties such as compression strength, plateau strength, densification strain and energy absorption capacity were determined. Besides, aging heat treatment (T6) was applied to certain samples in order to explore probable effects of heat treatment on the mechanical responses. The outcomes indicated that there was a positive relationship between the aging treatment and compressive features. Under the compressive loading, even though T6 treated foams showed a tendency to brittle fracture, their as-cast variants exhibited ductile behavior.

Urban parks are of the most important components of green infrastructure in cities. Number and size of green areas decrease especially due to increase in population and urbanization. Urban parks rank first among green areas that increase and improve the quality of life in cities. Urban parks are places where people can commune with nature and spend their free time for leisure. Accessibility of urban parks, their recreational facilities and space identity are very effective on satisfaction of users. This study is about EYOF Park in Trabzon city. Visual perception analysis carried out using landscape quality criteria. User satisfaction was analyzed with statistical analyses. As a result of analysis, the highest correlations were found between “color” and “texture” (r = 0.790). The most important reasons of park visit was found to be for “relaxing” purposes, moreover “lack of car park” was stated as the most important problem for the park.

İnflamatuvar bağırsak hastalıkları (İBH), son on yılda prevalansı artan, patogenezi henüz kesinleşmemiş, kronik inflamatuvar hastalıklardır. Özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerde Batı tarzı beslenmenin artışıyla ilişkili olarak prevalansın arttığı düşünülmektedir. Batı tarzı beslenme, yüksek miktarda protein, doymuş yağ, şeker, ultra işlenmiş besinler ve gıda katkı maddelerini içerirken; düşük miktarda sebze, meyve ve posa tüketimini içermektedir. Gıda katkı maddelerinden, emülgatörler ve kıvam artırıcıların intestinal mukozal bariyer fonksiyonunu bozarak, bağırsak mikrobiyotasının fonksiyonel karakteristiğini değiştirerek ve mukozal inflamasyona neden olarak sağlık üzerine etkileri olabileceği belirtilmiştir. İnflamatuvar bağırsak hastalıklarında emülgatörlerin diyetten çıkarılmasının, hastalığın seyrini olumlu etkileyebileceği bildirilmiştir. Bu derleme yazıda, gıda emülgatörlerinin intestinal sağlık üzerine etkilerinin mekanizması ve inflamatuvar bağırsak hastalıkları üzerindeki rolü incelenmiştir.

In this paper, we introduce a new vector space, the three-dimensional geometric real vector space [Formula: see text], and a new number system, multiplicative quaternions [Formula: see text]. We give some basic algebraic properties of these concepts. We define spatial rotation in [Formula: see text] by using multiplicative quaternions. Finally, we give an example to illustrate our results.

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) has been widely recognized as a strategic tool and lean manufacturing practice for improving manufacturing performance and sustainability, and therefore it has been successfully implemented in many organizations. The evaluation of TPM efficiency can assist companies in improving their operations across a variety of dimensions. This paper aims to propose a comprehensive and systematic framework for the evaluation of TPM performance. The proposed total productive maintenance performance measurement system (TPM PMS) is divided into four phases (e.g., design, evaluate, implement, and review): i) the design of new performance measures, ii) the evaluation of the new performance measures, iii) the implementation of the new performance measures to evaluate TPM performance, and iv) the reviewing of the TPM PMS. In the design phase, different types of performance measures impacting TPM are defined and analyzed by decision-makers. In the evaluation phase, novel performance measures are evaluated using the Fuzzy COmplex Proportional Assessment (FCOPRAS) method. In the implementation phase, a modified fuzzy data envelopment analysis (FDEA) is used to determine efficient and inefficient TPM performance with novel performance measures. In the review phase, TPM performance is periodically monitored, and the proposed TPM PMS is reviewed for successful implementation of TPM. A real-world case study from an international manufacturing company operating in the automotive industry is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed TPM PMS. The main findings from the real-world case study showed that the proposed TPM PMS allows measuring TPM performance with different indicators especially soft ones, e.g., human-related, and supports decision makers by comparing the TPM performances of production lines and so prioritizing the most important preventive/predictive decisions and actions according to production lines, especially the ineffective ones in TPM program implementation. Therefore, this system can be considered a powerful monitoring tool and reliable evidence to make the implementation process of TPM more efficient in the real-world production environment.

Aim: We aimed to evaluate the awareness of pneumococcal vaccination (PCV13, PPSV23) in general cardiology outpatient clinics and impact of physicians’ recommendations on vaccination rates. Methods: This was a multicenter, observational, prospective cohort study. Patients over the age of 18 from 40 hospitals in different regions of Turkey who applied to the cardiology outpatient clinic between September 2022 and August 2021 participated. The vaccination rates were calculated within three months of follow-up from the admitting of the patient to cardiology clinics. Results: The 403 (18.2%) patients with previous pneumococcal vaccination were excluded from the study. The mean age of study population (n = 1808) was 61.9 ± 12.1 years and 55.4% were male. The 58.7% had coronary artery disease, hypertension (74.1%) was the most common risk factor, and 32.7% of the patients had never been vaccinated although they had information about vaccination before. The main differences between vaccinated and unvaccinated patients were related to education level and ejection fraction. The physicians’ recommendations were positively correlated with vaccination intention and behavior in our participants. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed a significant correlation between vaccination and female sex [OR = 1.55 (95% CI = 1.25–1.92), p < 0.001], higher education level [OR = 1.49 (95% CI = 1.15–1.92), p = 0.002] patients’ knowledge [OR = 1.93 (95% CI = 1.56–2.40), p < 0.001], and their physician’s recommendation [OR = 5.12 (95% CI = 1.92–13.68), p = 0.001]. Conclusion: To increase adult immunization rates, especially among those with or at risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), it is essential to understand each of these factors. Even if during COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased awareness about vaccination, the vaccine acceptance level is not enough, still. Further studies and interventions are needed to improve public vaccination rates.

The stock market indices of the countries are indicators that provide information about the countries' economies and financial stability. The aim of the study is to determine the similarities and differences in the stock market index return behaviors for Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Türkiye, which constitute the MIST country group. For this purpose, the spectral density kernel estimator "Quantile Periodogram" was used. The reason why this estimator is preferred is that it allows the investigation of serial dependence at different quantiles-frequencies and it is robust to outliers frequently encountered in return series, heavy-tailed distribution and changes in the distribution at high moments. The asymmetry of the serial dependence in different quantiles-frequencies and time-irreversibility which gives information about whether the financial series behavior is predictable or not, were analyzed with the quantile periodogram. According to the findings, Türkiye is the most preferred country by financial investors among MIST countries, while Mexico is the least preferred. Secondly, it is seen that the long-term behavior predictability of the returns has increased. This means that returns are more stable in the long run. When the findings are evaluated collectively, it is concluded that MIST countries are attractive for long-term financial investment.

This study proposes a novel framework for learning the underlying physics of phenomena with moving boundaries. The proposed approach combines Ensemble SINDy and Peridynamic Differential Operator (PDDO) and imposes an inductive bias assuming the moving boundary physics evolve in its own corotational coordinate system. The robustness of the approach is demonstrated by considering various levels of noise in the measured data using the 2D Fisher-Stefan model. The confidence intervals of recovered coefficients are listed, and the uncertainties of the moving boundary positions are depicted by obtaining the solutions with the recovered coefficients. Although the main focus of this study is the Fisher-Stefan model, the proposed approach is applicable to any type of moving boundary problem with a smooth moving boundary front without a mushy region. Aim: Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is the most common periodic fever syndrome among autoinflammatory syndromes.The most severe complication of this disease is the developmentof amyloidosis. Our aim was to evaluate the hemodynamic changes in renal and intrarenal vascular structures by renal duplexDoppler ultrasonography (RDDUS) in pediatric FMF patients with proteinuria who were using colchicine. Material and Method: 43 children with FMF who were followed up regularly and using colchicine and 20 healthy children were included in the study. The patient characteristics and protein, creatinine and protein/creatinine ratios in the spot urine were analyzed of the patient and control groups. RDDUS examination was performed in both groups, and resistivity index (RI) and pulsatility index (PI) values obtained from the upper pole, middle section, lower pole and main renal arteries of both kidneys were recorded. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the RDDUS analysis measurements obtained from the patient group and the protein/creatinine ratio in spot urine, which is an indirect indicator of proteinuria (p>0.05). RI values obtained from the upper pole of the right kidney were found to be significantly higher in control group compared to patinet group in RDDUS analysis (p=0.002).There was no significant difference in the other RDDUS parameters between the two groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: Although RDDUS is an easily applicable test in FMF with renal vascular involvement, RDDUS findings may be indistinct in patients using colchicine, which prevents amyloidosis that may cause renal damage.

Intermittent fasting is a cyclical way of eating that is formed by the succession of eating and fasting period. It includes a long period of fasting, such as 16-48 hours, in which individuals receive little or no energy, and a normal eating period. The most commonly applied methods are alternate day fasting (ADF), time-restricted feeding (TRF) the 5:2 diet and Ramadan fasting. It has been reported that these diet models can be an alternative to continuous energy restriction in the medical nutrition treatment of obesity and are effective in weight loss. Intermittent fasting can have positive effects on reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and improving symptoms by causing reductions in blood lipids, oxidative stress and inflammation. In addition, it is observed that intermittent fasting has effects on the prevention of diabetes by causing reductions in insulin resistance and fasting blood glucose levels. In addition to its positive effects, risks such as energy, vitamin, mineral and protein deficiencies may occur. The most important risk is that patients receiving insulin therapy may experience hypoglycemia during fasting periods. It has been reported to be unsafe for use in pregnant and lactating women, eating disorders, underweight individuals, adolescents, and older adults. Intermittent fasting should be applied under the control of a doctor and dietitian, taking into account individual differences and medical treatment. In this review, studies investigating the effects of intermittent fasting on weight loss and cardiometabolic health are summarized.

Work accidents are serious issues that disrupt harmonious environment in workplace. They cause not only death, injury or disability of employees, but also serious financial loss for businesses and countries. Work accidents are highly preventable incidents, when necessary, precautions are taken. Like the whole world, in Turkey also there are risky sectors where work accidents are intensified. The identification of risky sectors in Turkey, is the first step of being able to fight against work accidents in this sector. Therefore, in this study the riskiest sectors in Turkey were investigated basing on the official accident data from the last ten years. Thus, first of all, the sectoral distribution of work accidents, death and permanent incapacity cases that occurred in Turkey in 2010-2019 was examined. Sectors were evaluated in terms of six different parameters: the number of work accidents, the number of deaths because of work accidents, the number of permanent incapacities because of work accidents, general accident incidence rate, fatal accident incidence rate, and permanent incapacity accident incidence rate. The top ten sectors with intensity have been determined for each parameter. Then, all these data were combined and the ten most risky sectors in Turkey in terms of work accidents were defined. In the last 10 years, the sector of "41-Building Construction" has been found to be the riskiest sector in Turkey, where the most work accidents have occurred, the most employees die and the most employees are permanently disabled. On the other hand, the "05- Mining of Coal and Lignite" sector, in which the general accident incidence rate, fatal accident incidence rate, and permanent incapacity accident incidence rate values are the highest, was the second most risky sector.

Publications on vaccine hesitancy and the novel coronavirus disease 2019 in the scientific literature are increasing every day. An examination of their content will help to eliminate the existing negativity related to vaccine hesitancy through scientific methods. Hence, a systematic approach to the prevention of vaccine hesitancy worldwide can be developed. This article aims to survey how vaccine hesitancy is addressed in the PubMed articles about "vaccine hesitancy" over the novel coronavirus disease, for which the MeSH criteria have been published; to understand their recommendations for the prevention of vaccine hesitancy; to evaluate any related research described as "cross-sectional," "case-control," and "cohort" according to Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology criteria; and to contribute to the current literature on the subject.This study is planned to use a systematic review format and STROBE checklist was used to evaluate the articles accessed from PubMed database. Microsoft Excel was used as the data calculation tool.Sixty-five (81.3%) of the 80 articles investigated in the scope of this study mention "vaccine." While 64 articles (80%) discuss the determination of vaccine hesitancy, 57 (71.3%) articles address its prevention. The keyword "COVID-19" is used in 61 articles (79.2%). The second most frequently used keyword is "vaccine hesitancy" (n = 37, 48.1%), followed by "vaccine" (n = 25, 32.5%). Twenty-nine (48%) of the reviewed articles originate from the WHO American Continents. The second most represented region of research is the European Region (n = 21, 35%), followed by the South East Asian Region (n = 5, 8%).This study illustrates the recent situation for the coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine and reveals the presence of a vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy is a risk factor that could prevent herd immunity. The systematic review of scientific articles should continue with improvements in order to tackle the problem as exemplified by the present study. Other checklists as well as STROBE checklist are recommended to be used in similar studies to have more objective conclusions.

Bulunduğumuz çağda hızla gelişen teknolojik veriler, yapı malzemesi alanını da etkilemektedir. Zamanla yüksek teknoloji ürünü malzemeler ortaya çıkmakta ve tasarımcıya büyük olanaklar sağlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, günümüzde tarihi yapıların restorasyon süreçlerinde, farklı nedenlerle kullanıcıya geniş imkanlar tanıyan farklı çağdaş yapı malzemeleri kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada ele alınan çağdaş cam malzeme; tarihi yapı restorasyonlarında, geleneksel malzemeler ile sıklıkla kullanılan şeffaf ve kırılgan bir yapı malzemesidir. Cam malzeme, özgün malzemelerin önüne geçmeyen, şeffaf özelliği sayesinde yapının özgün durumuna uyum sağlayabilen ve kullanım biçimine göre geri dönüştürülebilen bir malzeme olup, tarihi yapıların korunmasında restoratif bir materyal olarak kullanılma potansiyeli açısından önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmada tarihi yapıların restorasyonunda kullanılan camın mimari uyumluluğunu belirlemek ve cam malzeme kullanımının sağladığı avantaj ve dezavantajları ortaya koymak amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde Trabzon ili sınırları içerisinde bulunan Kızlar Manastırı ele alınmıştır. Üç aşamadan oluşan çalışmanın ilk aşamasında literatür araştırması yoluyla konuya ilişkin kuramsal alt yapı oluşturulmuş; ikinci aşamada çalışma alanına ilişkin veriler elde edilerek saha çalışmaları ve arşiv belgeleri ile yapıların mevcut durum özellikleri incelenmiş; üçüncü aşamada ise Kızlar Manastırı’nda restorasyon ve yeniden işlevlendirme sürecinde cam kullanım alanları analiz edilerek plan, kesit, görünüş ve 3 boyutlu görseller üzerine işlenmiştir. Yapılan araştırma, önemli tarihi değerleri içerisinde barındıran Kızlar Manastırı için bir arşiv kaydı ve restore edilen kültürel mirasın etki değerlendirmesi alanına bir katkı olarak düşünülebilir. Çalışmanın bulgularında, Kızlar Manastırı için yapının geçmişi ile geleceği arasında bağlantı kurmak amacıyla iyi analiz edilerek yapılan müdahalelerin büyük oranda yapının özgün değerine katkıda bulunduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, tarihi yapıların özgün mekan akışının korunması ve bozulmamasına özen gösterilerek yapılan müdahalelerin, yapının barındırdığı değerlerin korunmasına ve sürdürülebilir olmasında katkıda bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir., Developing technological data in our era also affects the field of building materials and the emerging high-tech materials provide great opportunities to the designer. In this context, different contemporary building materials have started to be used in the restoration processes of historical buildings. Contemporary glass material discussed in this study is a transparent and fragile building material that is often used with traditional materials in historical building restorations. Glass is a material that does not prevent original materials, can adapt to the original condition of the buildings thanks to its transparent feature, and can be recycled according to its use and it has an important place in terms of its potential to be used as a restorative material in the preservation of historical buildings. In this study, it is aimed to determine the architectural compatibility of the glass used in the restoration of historical buildings and to reveal the advantages and disadvantages of the use of glass. In this scope was discussed the Kizlar Monastery, located within the borders of Trabzon province in the Eastern Black Sea region. The study consists of three stages. In the first stage, a theoretical framework on the subject was formed through literature research. In the second stage, the data related to the study area were obtained and the current situation features of the buildings were examined with the field studies and archive documents. In the third stage, glass usage areas were analyzed in the restoration and re-using process in the Kizlar Monastery and processed on plan, sections, elevation and 3D models. The research can be considered as an archival document for the Kizlar Monastery, which has important historical values, and as a contribution to the field of impact assessment of the cultural heritage. In the findings of the study, it was seen that the interventions made for the Kizlar Monastery to connect the past and the future of the building greatly contributed to the original value of the building. As a result, it has been determined that the interventions made by taking care to preserve and maintain the original space flow of historical buildings contribute to the preservation and sustainability of the values contained in the structure.

Kentler toplumların siyasi, sosyal ve toplumsal birikimlerinin en önemli göstergeleri olan toplumsal vazgeçilmezlerdir. Her kentin sahip olduğu coğrafi konum, iklim, doğal bitki örtüsü, binalar, yapılar gibi kentsel değerlerin bütünü kentin kimliğini oluşturmaktadır. Kent kimliğinin önemli yansıtıcılarından biri de kentin simgesi haline gelmiş kentsel mekanlardır. Çeşitli gereksinimlere cevap veren kentsel mekanlar sahip oldukları değerler ve içlerinde var olan donatılarla kent mimarisi açıdan önemli birer unsur konumundadırlar. Kentliler zihinlerinde yer edinen bu kentsel mekanları tarif ederken bazen yaşadığı bir anıdan, gördüğü bir binadan bazen ise kullandığı veya dikkatini çeken bir kent donatısından yardım almaktadır. Birbirinden farklı bu kavramların birleşimi ile oluşan bilişsel haritalar bireyin çevresini tarif etmesinde, konum, uzaklık ve yer bilgilerinin belirlenmesinde önemli yere sahiptir. Bireyin kültürel özellikleri, yaşam biçimi ve deneyimleri doğrultusunda zihninde şekillenen bilişsel harita; hatırlama/anımsama, saklama, bilgi edinme, çözme, biriktirme vb. gibi zihinsel süreçlerin kodlanmasını sağlayan önemli bir yöntemdir. Bu çalışmada Trabzon Meydan Parkı’nda bulunan kent donatıları tespit edilerek kullanıcılara uygulanan anketle birlikte kent donatılarının kent kimliğine katkısı ve bilişsel haritanın kent donatıları üzerinden tespiti yapılmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda yapılan anket ve yerinde tespit çalışmaları ile elde edilen veriler yorumlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak bireylerin Trabzon tarihinde önemli bir yeri olan Meydan Parkı’nın kent donatılarının özellikle de Atatürk Heykeli’nin ve parka dair belleklerinde yer edinen anılarının bilişsel haritanın belirlenmesinde önemli olduğu ortaya konulmuştur

Bulundukları dönemin izlerini taşıyan geleneksel konutlar, var oldukları toplumun kültürel özlerini yansıtan sivil mimari örnekleridir. Fakat toplumun sosyo-kültürel ve sosyo-ekonomik değerlerinin değişime uğraması, kültürel kimlik ve yaşam koşullarını da değiştirmiş; bireylerin konutlardan beklentilerini farklılaştırmış ve mevcut konutlar yeni gereksinimleri karşılayamaz duruma gelmiştir. Bu yapıların pasif bir koruma anlayışı ile yok olması yerine, yeniden işlev verilerek sürdürülebilirliği sağlanabilmektedir. Yeni işlevin uygunluğunun belirlenmesinde ise yapının çevre ve mekânla olan ilişkisi önemli bir rol üstlenmektedir. Çalışma kapsamında yeniden işlevlendirme; eski mekân-yeni işlevin uygunluğuna bağlı olarak Mehmet Efendi Konağı özelinde “mekânsal açıdan işlevsel uygunluk” ve “çevresel açıdan işlevsel uygunluk” olarak iki başlıkta değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirmeler sonucunda yapı, mekânsal ve çevresel açıdan belirlenen kriterler doğrultusunda eski mekân ve yeni işlev ilişkisi bakımdan uygun bulunmuştur.

Face-to-face education gave way to online emergency education due to the new Coronavirus pandemic. Regarding this change, this study aims to determine how academics perceive emergency distance education systems and the factors that affect their perceptions. Technology Acceptance Model was used for the theory of planned behaviour in this study. The population consisted of academics. Convenience and snowball sampling methods were used to reach the 444 academics that work in 43 different universities. The data were collected with online questionnaire forms through Google Forms. The collected data were tested through reliability, validity and confirmatory factor analyses and the research model was reviewed through the structural equation model. As a result, seven out of the nine suggested hypotheses were accepted. The research concluded that the subjective norm variables based on the theory of planned behaviour such as interpersonal effects and external effects did not have an impact on behavioural intention; perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use had a significantly positive effect on satisfaction towards the use of distant education; satisfaction and perceived behavioural control had a significantly positive effect on behaviour and that behavioural intention had a significantly positive effect on behaviour towards the use of distant education.
