La historia de la arquitectura no debe entenderse solo como simple conocimiento de las prácticas artísticas y arquitectónicas (de lo construido, de la ciudad y del territorio), sino principalmente como primordial herramienta de reflexión crítica para comprender el medio ambiente en el que vivimos. En esta óptica, la historia desempeñó siempre un rol fundamental de sostén para la práctica de la arquitectura dado que se le asigna un papel cultural y operativo: con los avances del conocimiento se da un mayor estímulo a la inventiva y al diseño. Ser conscientes de ello conlleva a la realización de proyectos más congruentes con su lógica intrínseca, como así también con el contexto en el que deberá relacionarse. Este trabajo plantea algunas reflexiones sobre las relaciones existentes entre la historia, el patrimonio y el proyecto arquitectónico, y especialmente resalta el fuerte vínculo y los posibles puntos de contacto existentes entre estas áreas temáticas., The history of architecture should not be understood only as a simple knowledge of artistic and architectural practices (of the built, the city and the territory), but mainly as a primary tool for critical reflection to understand the environment in which we live. From this point of view, the history has always played a fundamental supporting role for the practice of architecture, given that it is assigned a cultural and operational role: with advances in knowledge, greater encouragement is given to inventiveness and design. Being aware of this leads to carrying out projects that are more consistent with their intrinsic logic, as well as with the context in which they must be related.
