The taxi industry plays a significant role in urban transportation systems in commercial and flexible terms. This study aimed to investigate drivers’ overall pressures and constraints, such as; physical, psychological, and social pressures. The goal of this study was to provide practical recommendations for the betterment of this industry, such as approved authentic work timings, workload reduction, maximum 8 hours driving, and fixed stops to detect, distinguish and treat physical and mental health related to the job specification, training, and development courses to cope with mental, physical, and occupational stress to promote positive changes. The study consisted of 8 male taxi drivers recruited using a purposive sampling technique. A qualitative research design was used. A series of questions was administered to taxi drivers after taking consent from the participants. Thematic analysis was used to analyze data after data collection. This article provides an inclusive evaluation of work conditions and factors that impact upon overall well-being of taxi drivers. The result indicates that social pressures, physical health, psychological health, financial pressures and Unhealthy work conditions impact upon overall well-being of the taxi-drivers.

While Ramadan in Western societies has been studied extensively in relation to health issues, no research to date has explored its representation through social scientific lenses. This article uses the Greater Western Sydney region in New South Wales, Australia, as a case study. This agglomeration of suburbs from the outer western suburbs of Sydney to the Blue Mountains has the highest proportion of Muslims in the country. To understand the representation of Islam in this region, this paper first analyses the articles in its major and local newspapers to then contrast them to the way the Ramadan festival is represented by mosques on their websites. This research discovers that Ramadan in Sydney newspapers tends to be reported in a secular fashion with a stronger focus on its public and economic activities. The focus of a large proportion of these articles on the way it attracts business demonstrates that it is a well-accepted event in Australia. In contrast, the pictures provided in Muslim sites in Sydney are more religious than the newspaper depiction and show a contrast with regard to ethnicity and gender. While the newspaper pictures are from the public sphere and tend to be multicultural across various Muslim ethnicities and do not show gender segregation, the online pictures from Muslim organisation show a strong gender segregation and represent the local ethic community they serve. While the representations in the public sphere are neo-liberal post-secularism and multiculturalism, those from these organisations are curating religiously important rather than business orientated moments in their community.

Carpal tunnel is the narrow space which is present between smaller bones of hand and an important ligament of hand which is called transverse carpal ligament. Compression of median nerve occurs commonly at wrist which results in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Objective: To compare effectiveness of median nerve mobilization with and without transverse carpal ligament stretching in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods: In this study, 34 patients were randomly assigned into one of two groups, each with 17 individuals. For two weeks, group B received a combination therapy strategy of Neurodynamics and transverse carpal ligament stretching, while group A only received neurodynamics. After two weeks, there was an improvement in functioning and pain. The DASH questioner and VAS were filled at baseline. The current RCT was conducted at the Akhtar Saeed Trust Hospital in Lahore. SPSS was used to conduct the analysis. Results: In the present study of 34 patients independent sample t test was applied as the mean difference was less in group B, which used a combination treatment method of transverse carpal ligament stretching and neurodynamics, compared to group A, which used only neurodynamics. The p value is less than 0.05, indicating that the results were significant. In comparison to group A, results of group B in which combined treatment approach was applied found to be more substantial and superior. Conclusions: Group B, which included both neurodynamics and transverse carpal ligament stretching, was shown to be more effective than group A, which solely used neurodynamics.

This research aims to find out the level of hope, self-efficacy, and quality of life of mothers with special needs children. There has been very little research on mothers’ health of special needs children and there was a significant gap that needed to be addressed. A correlational research design was used with purposive sampling of 30 mothers (N=30) from Amin-Maktab Institute Outreach Program, Lahore, Pakistan, who were involved in this study. A series of questionnaires as the quality of life, hope scale, and self-efficacy scale was administered to mothers after taking consent. Correlation and independent-sample t-tests were used to analyze data. Results revealed that standards/physical health (domain 1) has a strong relationship with hope/pathways (domain 2) with a 0.56 level of significance. Standards (domain 1) and pleasures/social (domain 3) have a strong relationship with 0.42 but there is a difference in the mean between mothers of boys and mothers of girls. The environment affects the physical, psychological, and social health of mothers with special needs children. While mothers with a higher level of hope have a higher quality of life and high self-efficacy leads to high physical health among mothers. Research conclusion specifies that mothers of intellectually disabled boys have had a higher level of hope and pleasure (social relationship) than mothers of girls

PurposeSupply chain (SC) managers influence firms in incorporating green behavior throughout the value chain in functions such as purchasing, production, distribution and transportation. In this study, we aim to understand the antecedents of pro-environmental behavior (PEB) in SC managers.Design/methodology/approachWe develop a research model hypothesizing a direct role of SC managers' private green behaviors, subjective norms, personal and organizational barriers as factors influencing the manager's pro-environmental intentions. We also analyze the impact of these intentions on actual behavior. We surveyed managers working in the SC of manufacturing firms in a developing country and tested the research model using structural equation modeling.FindingsOur results indicate that SC managers' personal barriers significantly influence intentions to act pro-environmentally and these intentions then predict their actual behavior. However, SC managers' private green behaviors do not spill over to their workplace. Furthermore, the study shows that organizational-level barriers and subjective norms may reverse green intentions.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the research literature by identifying the role of organizational, personal and social factors in modifying the SC managers' intentions. It provides useful insights into how these factors affect the behavior of SC managers. Thus, we extend prior work in the area of PEB to the SC environment.

The quality of life in employees is an issue that must be examined as it is a crucial point for organization or industry growth. This study aims to investigate the correlation between professional quality of life with physical and psychological health in textile sector employees. Study was conducted on (N=150, male and female employees) employees from 19 textile companies in Lahore city, Pakistan. A correlational research design was used, and sample was selected by using stratified sampling technique. A series of questionnaire (Professional Quality of life and (SF-12) Short Form-12 Health survey) was administered to employees after taking consent from the them. The results indicate that quality of life has relationship with physical and psychological health. Specifically, compassion satisfaction aspect has positive significant relationship with physical and mental health component while inverse relationship with burnout and compassion fatigue. When compassion satisfaction increases, the physical and psychological health of the workers improved and vice versa. Similarly, when burnout and compassion fatigue increase, it affected the physical and psychological health of the workers. It is recommended to the organization to make plans and policies to boost up employees mental and physical health. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas hidup professional dengan kesehatan fisik dan psikologis pada karyawan sektor tekstil. Studi dilakukan pada (N=150, karyawan pria dan wanita) karyawan dari 19 perusahaan tekstil di kota Lahore, Pakistan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah korelasional, dan sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik stratified sampling. Serangkaian kuesioner (Professional Quality of life dan (SF-12) Short Form-12 Health survey) diberikan kepada karyawan setelah mendapat persetujuan dari mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas hidup memiliki hubungan dengan kesehatan fisik dan psikologis. Secara khusus, aspek compassion satisfaction memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan komponen kesehatan fisik dan mental, sedangkan hubungan terbalik dengan burnout dan compassion fatigue. Ketika compassion satisfacion meningkat, kesehatan fisik dan psikologis pekerja meningkat dan sebaliknya. Demikian pula ketika burnout dan compasison fatigue meningkat, hal itu mempengaruhi kesehatan fisik dan psikologis para pekerja. Disarankan kepada organisasi untuk membuat rencana dan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental dan fisik karyawan.

Natural dyeing has been the focus of many previous researches as a substitute for synthetic dyeing, which is a known hazardous process. However, the limitations in the color range and poor fastness properties are the main obstacles in the further development of natural dyeing processes. This work corresponds to the inclusion of ultrasonic energy to enhance the color yield and color fastness properties of fabrics dyed with natural dyes. Cotton fabrics were dyed with acacia dye using conventional infrared exhaust and ultrasonic assisted procedures. Moreover, the effects of different processing factors like temperature, time, and liquor ratio were also investigated, in order to optimize the process. The ultrasonic assisted dyeing shows promising results in terms of both shade depth and washing fastness.

Introduction: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) happens in cases throughout 1st day of operation. Numerous medicines were practiced for deterrence in healing of Postoperative nausea and vomiting. In our current research, authors practiced gabapentin to assess their prophylactic outcome in dipping harshness in occurrence of Postoperative nausea and vomiting in cases experiencing analytical laparoscopic gynecological operation. Methodology: Our current research was conducted in Services Hospital Lahore from July 2018 to January 2019. The current, dual blind randomized measured research remained completed in OT compound for the time phase of six months. One hundred and fifty respondents experiencing analytical gynecological laparoscopic operation remained designated. 2 sets remained designed in 75 respondents remained employed in every set by means of technique of randomization. Set C (controller set) remained assumed control medicine verbally 2 hrz beforehand operation also set G (gabapentin set) established 610 mg of gabapentin vocally 2 hrz beforehand process. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health challenge and antimicrobial use (AMU) in the livestock sector has been considered as one of the contributing factors towards the development of AMR in bacteria. This study summarizes the results of a point prevalence survey conducted to monitor farm-level AMU in commercial broiler chicken farms in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) provinces of Pakistan. A cross-sectional study was conducted to quantify AMU and to check seasonal variations of AMU in 12 commercial broiler chicken farms (six from each province) during the summer and winter seasons of the year 2020–2021. AMU was recorded using three AMU metrics: kg, mg per population correction unit (mg/PCU), and mg/kg of final flock weight. A total of 22 antimicrobial drugs (348.59 kg) were used for therapeutic or prophylactic purposes in surveyed broiler chicken farms. The total combined AMU for all the broiler chicken farms was 462.57&nbsp, mg/PCU. The use of most of the antimicrobials increased during winter flocks compared to summer. The top three antimicrobial drugs used during the summer were neomycin (111.39 mg/PCU), doxycycline (91.91 mg/PCU), and tilmicosin (77.22 mg/PCU), whereas doxycycline (196.81 mg/PCU), neomycin (136.74 mg/PCU), and amoxicillin (115.04 mg/PCU) during the winter. Overall, 60% of the antibiotics used in broiler chicken were critically important antimicrobial classes (CIA) for human medicine as characterized by the World Health Organization. Our findings showed high AMU in broiler chicken production and a call for urgent actions to regulate CIA use in food animals in Pakistan. This baseline survey is critical for the design and implementation of a subsequent national level AMU surveys that can include additional farming types, animals’ species, and geographical locations over a longer period of time.

A range of molecular modelling techniques has been applied to predict optimized geometrical conformations and energies of the ring-closed oxazine form and ring-opened merocyanine forms of three azospirooxazines. A comparison of the relative stabilities of the possible isomers of the merocyanines was carried out by applying molecular mechanics (augmented MM2), while the prediction of the potential for photochromic behaviour was made by comparison of the heats of formation calculated by AM1. Synthetic routes were explored and as a result two azospirooxazines were isolated, one of which showed interesting and unusual photochromic behaviour. The instability of this compound towards purification by chromatography was investigated. The decomposition product was isolated and characterized with the aid of single crystal x-ray crystallography. The correlation between predicted and observed photochromic behaviour is discussed.
