Despite becoming increasingly represented in academic departments, women scholars face a critical lack of support as they navigate demands pertaining to pregnancy, motherhood, and child caregiving. In addition, cultural norms surrounding how faculty and academic leaders discuss and talk about tenure, promotion, and career success have created pressure for women who wish to grow their family and care for their children, leading to questions about whether it is possible for these women to have a family and an academic career. This paper is a call to action for academia to build structures that support professors who are women as they navigate the complexities of pregnancy, the postpartum period, and the caregiving demands of their children. We specifically call on those of us in I-O psychology, management, and related departments to lead the way. In making this call, we first present the realistic, moral, and financial cases for why this issue needs to be at the forefront of discussions surrounding success in the academy. We then discuss how, in the U.S. and elsewhere, an absence of policies supporting women places two groups of academics—department heads (as the leaders of departments who have discretion outside of formal policies to make work better for women) and other faculty members (as potential allies both in the department and within our professional organizations)—in a critical position to enact support and change. We conclude with our boldest call—to make a cultural shift that shatters the assumption that having a family is not compatible with academic success. Combined, we seek to launch a discussion that leads directly to necessary and overdue changes in how women scholars are supported in academia.

As organizational research continues to globalize, scholars increasingly must translate established scales into languages other than those in which the scales were originally developed. In organizational psychology research, back-translation is the dominant procedure for translating scales. Back-translation has notable strengths in maintaining the psychometric properties of an established scale in a translated version. However, cross-cultural methodologists have argued that in its most basic form, back-translation often does not result in translations with acceptable levels of equivalence between original and translated research materials. Fortunately, there are complementary procedures to back-translation that can evaluate and strengthen the extent to which scale translations have achieved equivalence between original and translated versions of scales. But how often organizational researchers use and report these procedures in tandem with back-translation is unclear. Background The aim of this study was to review, systematically, evidence concerning the link between the ACTN3 R577X polymorphism and the rates and severity of non-contact injuries and exercise-induced muscle damage in athletes and individuals enrolled in exercise training programs. Methods A computerized literature search was performed in the electronic databases PubMed, Web of Science, and SPORTDiscus, from inception until November 2020. All included studies compared the epidemiological characteristics of non-contact injury between the different genotypes of the ACTN3 R577X polymorphism. Results Our search identified 492 records. After the screening of titles, abstracts, and full texts, 13 studies examining the association between the ACTN3 genotypes and the rate and severity of non-contact injury were included in the analysis. These studies were performed in 6 different countries (Spain, Japan, Brazil, China, Republic of Korea, and Italy) and involved a total participant pool of 1093 participants. Of the studies, 2 studies involved only women, 5 studies involved only men, and 6 studies involved both men and women. All the studies included were classified as high-quality studies (≥6 points in the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale score). Overall, evidence suggests there is an association between the ACTN3 R577X genotype and non-contact injury in 12 investigations. Six studies observed a significant association between ACTN3 R577X polymorphism and exercise induced muscle damage: two with non-contact ankle injury, three with non-contact muscle injury, and one with overall non-contact injury. Conclusion The present findings support the premise that possessing the ACTN3 XX genotype may predispose athletes to a higher probability of some non-contact injuries, such as muscle injury, ankle sprains, and higher levels of exercise-induced muscle damage.

PURPOSE: Dual antiplatelet therapy is standard for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stents. Traditionally, patients swallow the loading dose of a P2Y12 inhibitor before or during PCI. Time to achieve adequate platelet inhibition after swallowing the loading dose varies significantly. Chewed tablets may allow more rapid inhibition of platelet aggregation. However, data for this strategy in patients with stable ischemic heart disease or non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) are less robust. METHODS: In this single-center prospective trial, 112 P2Y12-naïve patients with stable ischemic heart disease or NSTE-ACS on aspirin therapy and who received ticagrelor after coronary angiography but before PCI were randomized to chewing (n=55) or swallowing (n=57) the ticagrelor loading dose (180 mg). Baseline variables were compared using 2-sample t-test and chi-squared/Fisher’s exact tests as appropriate, with alpha set at 0.05. P2Y12 reaction units (PRU) were compared at baseline, 1 hour, and 4 hours using Wilcoxon rank-sum test. Patients then received standard ticagrelor dosing. RESULTS: After exclusions, P2Y12 PRU in the chewed and swallowed groups at baseline, 1 hour, and 4 hours after ticagrelor loading dose were 243 vs 256 (P=0.75), 143 vs 210 (P=0.09), and 28 vs 25 (P=0.89), respectively. No differences were found in major adverse cardiac events (MACE) or major bleeding at 30 days and 1 year. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with stable ischemic heart disease or NSTE-ACS, chewing rather than swallowing ticagrelor may lead to slightly faster inhibition of platelet aggregation at 1 hour with no increase in MACE or major bleeding.

We present Arm's efforts in verifying the specification and prototype reference implementation of the Realm Management Monitor (RMM), an essential firmware component of Arm Confidential Computing Architecture (Arm CCA), the recently-announced Confidential Computing technologies incorporated in the Armv9-A architecture. Arm CCA introduced the Realm Management Extension (RME), an architectural extension for Armv9-A, and a technology that will eventually be deployed in hundreds of millions of devices. Given the security-critical nature of the RMM, and its taxing threat model, we use a combination of interactive theorem proving, model checking, and concurrency-aware testing to validate and verify security and safety properties of both the specification and a prototype implementation of the RMM. Crucially, our verification efforts were, and are still being, developed and refined contemporaneously with active development of both specification and implementation, and have been adopted by Arm's product teams. We describe our major achievements, realized through the application of formal techniques, as well as challenges that remain for future work. We believe that the work reported in this paper is the most thorough application of formal techniques to the design and implementation of any current commercially-viable Confidential Computing implementation, setting a new high-water mark for work in this area.

To compare magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-detected structural abnormalities in patients with symptomatic midfoot osteoarthritis (OA), patients with persistent midfoot pain, and asymptomatic controls, and to explore the association between MRI features, pain, and foot-related disability.One hundred seven adults consisting of 50 patients with symptomatic and radiographically confirmed midfoot OA, 22 adults with persistent midfoot pain but absence of radiographic OA, and 35 asymptomatic adults underwent 3T MRI of the midfoot and clinical assessment. MRIs were read for the presence and severity of abnormalities (bone marrow lesions [BMLs], subchondral cysts, osteophytes, joint space narrowing [JSN], effusion-synovitis, tenosynovitis, and enthesopathy) using the Foot Osteoarthritis MRI Score. Pain and foot-related disability were assessed with the Manchester Foot Pain and Disability Index.The severity sum score of BMLs in the midfoot was greater in patients with midfoot pain and no signs of OA on radiography compared to controls (P = 0.007), with a pattern of involvement in the cuneiform-metatarsal joints similar to that in patients with midfoot OA. In univariable models, BMLs (ρ = 0.307), JSN (ρ = 0.423), and subchondral cysts (ρ = 0.302) were positively associated with pain (P 0.01). In multivariable models, MRI abnormalities were not associated with pain and disability when adjusted for covariates.In individuals with persistent midfoot pain but no signs of OA on radiography, MRI findings suggested an underrecognized prevalence of OA, particularly in the second and third cuneiform-metatarsal joints, where BML patterns were consistent with previously recognized sites of elevated mechanical loading. Joint abnormalities were not strongly associated with pain or foot-related disability.

A parallax shift is a displacement in the apparent navigated position of a feature that arises because of its perspective from the viewing platform and is also a function of the feature height. For Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) imagery, this shift is especially apparent away from the satellite subpoint. Users should understand the degree of this shift when combining GOES Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) imagery with other data, such as radar and lightning. However, it can be challenging, especially at spatial resolutions around the cloud/storm scale. This article explores parallax displacement for both uniform and computed cloud-top heights. Parallax shift will be shown using two case studies. The first case is from 7 September 2021, in which northern Illinois hailstorms are examined using ground-based Level II NEXRAD radar data, GOES-16 ABI imagery, and Geostationary Lightning Mapper data. The second case, on 9 April 2021, examines an eruption of the La Soufrière volcano on St. Vincent from the differing perspectives of GOES16 and -17. The discussion of these cases will show how parallax is an apparent displacement that will vary depending on what satellites are used for observation, where the phenomenon is with respect to the satellite, and the height of the phenomenon being analyzed. Newer satellite instruments with finer spatial resolutions and improved georeferencing will maximize data usability at more extreme angles and require users to account for the accompanying enhanced parallax shift. Even at lesser angles, parallax displacement is an important consideration for many meteorological and other applications.

Background: Multiple clinical and radiologic risk factors for recurrent instability after arthroscopic Bankart repair have been described. Humeral bone loss has gained more recent attention, particularly with respect to “off-track” lesions and increased rates of recurrent instability and revision surgery. Purpose: To evaluate clinical and radiologic predictors of failure after arthroscopic Bankart repair in adolescents. Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence, 4. Methods: A single-institution retrospective study was performed in patients Results: A total of 59 patients (46 male, 13 female) with a median age of 16 years (range, 12-18 years) were included. Ten patients (17%) had revision surgery and 8 patients (14%) had subjective instability without revision surgery. No clinical or radiologic factors were significantly different between the failure cohort and the nonfailure cohort. Four patients (7%) measured off-track, and 2 of these patients experienced failure. A total of 38 patients (64%) were identified to have an HS defect. Subgroup analysis of these patients identified a greater HS interval (HSI) in patients who underwent revision surgery as compared with those patients who did not have revision surgery. Among patients with GT ratio ≥15 mm, there was a 50% rate of revision surgery. The Pediatric/Adolescent Shoulder Survey (PASS) and Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE) scores at the final follow-up were not significantly different among patients with or without revision surgery. However, those with subjective instability who had not undergone revision surgery had significantly lower PASS and SANE scores as compared with the remainder of the cohort. Conclusion: Of the adolescents in this cohort, 31% either had revision surgery (17%) or reported subjective feelings of instability (14%) after arthroscopic Bankart repair. Off-track instability was identified in 7% of the cohort but was not predictive of failure. Among the subgroup of patients with an HS defect, those who underwent revision surgery had a significantly larger HSI.

Assessment of the impact of interprofessional learning (IPL) on professional dynamics among healthcare professionals is very important for quality patient care management. The research design was a prospective cross-sectional descriptive study. It was conducted in various healthcare departments at Federal Medical Centres and Federal Teaching Hospitals in South-East of Nigeria having a sample size of 386 healthcare professionals. Validated questionnaire “Interprofessional Learning Dynamic Scale (IPLDS)” was used for this study. It contained 63 items with 2-sections: A and B. ‘A’ for socio-demographic data and ‘B’ for professionals’ relationship, knowledge, readiness, perception and attitude towards IPL. Data was collected through simple random sampling and analysed descriptively using Spearman rank correlation. Previous IPL experience showed significant positive relationship with radiographers’ ability to accommodate, collaborate, form teamwork, resolve conflict and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals. This study reveals that previous interprofessional learning experience promotes positive group dynamics between radiographers and other healthcare professionals, promotes better understanding of one’s own and others’ roles. Level of education had negative significance with knowledge (rs = -0.192; p = 0.000), readiness, perception and attitude towards IPL (rs = -0.299; p = 0.000). Level of education were of great influence on radiographers’ relationship with other healthcare professionals. This study affirm that IPL experience proves to have more positive chances to strengthen team dynamics and prevent the transfer of disciplines negative stereotypes into the workforce.

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is an established therapy for the treatment of aortic valve disease in appropriately selected patients. Previous studies using the self-expanding Portico transcatheter heart valve (THV), (Abbott Structural Heart, St Paul, MN, USA) have demonstrated the technical feasibility of this system albeit in the hands of relatively inexperienced Portico users. The objective of this study was to assess the real-world safety and efficacy of the Portico THV (with and without the FlexNav delivery system, Abbott Structural Heart) at the 30-day timepoint in an Australian cohort.This study was a retrospective real-world cohort analysis of 269 consecutive patients with severe aortic valve disease who underwent TAVI at multiple centres within Australia between February 2015 and April 2021. Of the 269 patients, 51.7% were female, mean Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) score was 5.2 (±6.8) and 98.5% had successful implantations. Thirty (30)-day post-implantation all-cause mortality was observed in one (0.4%) patient, major vascular complications in two (0.7%) patients, more-than-mild paravalvular leak in six (2.2%) patients and requirement for new permanent pacemaker implantation in 27 (10.2%) patients. Haemodynamic parameters at 30 days included mean effective orifice area (EOA) of 2.3 (±0.9) cmThis analysis of the Portico THV in a real-world setting suggested that the system is associated with satisfactory safety and efficacy parameters. Previously published datasets may not have found similar findings owing to lower operator experience with the Portico THV system.

The wellbeing of paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) staff members influences their engagement with work and the quality of care they provide to patients. Baseline burnout measures in research provide inconclusive evidence of the determinants of burnout and how to target interventions to promote staff wellbeing.The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of burnout using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) burnout-engagement workplace profiles in a sample of Australian PICU staff and investigate associations between demographic characteristics, meaningful work, satisfaction with life, and psychological distress on burnout.A cross-sectional survey was administered to a multidisciplinary sample of PICU staff (target n = 464) from three tertiary paediatric hospitals in Australia. The survey tool was comprised of the MBI, Work and Meaning Inventory, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, and demographic questions. Hierarchical multiple regressions examined the relationships between burnout and these variables of interest.A sample of 258 participants (56%) completed the survey. For most respondents, burnout was scored as a low to moderate risk, with over half the participants scoring low risk for emotional exhaustion (EE) (56%) and depersonalisation (DP) (54%). Personal accomplishment (PA) was more evenly distributed (range of burnout risk: low, 32%; moderate, 32%; high, 36%). MBI scores were classified using the burnout-engaged workplace profile system, identifying low levels of burnout (8% burnout, 3% disengaged, 21% overextended, 29% ineffective, and 39% engaged). Psychological distress significantly increased burnout risk across all three dimensions EE (β = 0.253, p 0.001), DP (β = 0.145, p 0.05), and PA (β = -0.13, p 0.05), and being aged between 41 and 55 years was protective of depersonalisation (β = -0.214, p 0.05).Utilising MBI workplace profiles, this study has built upon the demand for a more comprehensive assessment of burnout. Research that helps improve our understanding of contributory factors to burnout and wellbeing will inform the development of effective interventions that promote wellbeing of staff.

Background and Hypothesis Converging lines of evidence suggest that dysfunction of cortical GABAergic inhibitory interneurons is a core feature of psychosis. This dysfunction is thought to underlie neuroimaging abnormalities commonly found in patients with psychosis, particularly in the hippocampus. These include increases in resting cerebral blood flow (CBF) and glutamatergic metabolite levels, and decreases in ligand binding to GABAA α5 receptors and to the synaptic density marker synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A (SV2A). However, direct links between inhibitory interneuron dysfunction and these neuroimaging readouts are yet to be established. Conditional deletion of a schizophrenia susceptibility gene, the tyrosine kinase receptor Erbb4, from cortical and hippocampal inhibitory interneurons leads to synaptic defects, and behavioral and cognitive phenotypes relevant to psychosis in mice. Study Design Here, we investigated how this inhibitory interneuron disruption affects hippocampal in vivo neuroimaging readouts. Adult Erbb4 conditional mutant mice (Lhx6-Cre;Erbb4F/F, n = 12) and their wild-type littermates (Erbb4F/F, n = 12) were scanned in a 9.4T magnetic resonance scanner to quantify CBF and glutamatergic metabolite levels (glutamine, glutamate, GABA). Subsequently, we assessed GABAA receptors and SV2A density using quantitative autoradiography. Results Erbb4 mutant mice showed significantly elevated ventral hippccampus CBF and glutamine levels, and decreased SV2A density across hippocampus sub-regions compared to wild-type littermates. No significant GABAA receptor density differences were identified. Conclusions These findings demonstrate that specific disruption of cortical inhibitory interneurons in mice recapitulate some of the key neuroimaging findings in patients with psychosis, and link inhibitory interneuron deficits to non-invasive measures of brain function and neurochemistry that can be used across species.

Although previously classified in the genus Pseudanthias Bleeker, 1871, the holotype of Anthias xanthomaculatus Fourmanoir & Rivaton, 1979 from New Caledonia was recently shown to be a juvenile specimen of the genus Odontanthias Bleeker, 1873, and possibly conspecific with Odontanthias grahami Randall & Heemstra, 2006 from eastern Australia. Meaningful comparison with the latter species was problematic as it was known only from four adult specimens. Recent collection of a size series of six specimens from the Lord Howe Rise confirms that the two nominal species are conspecific. Odontanthias grahami is therefore placed in the synonymy of A. xanthomaculatus.

Moderate haemophilia has traditionally been associated with less complications than severe haemophilia. Changes in treatment recommendations have highlighted the burden of moderate haemophilia with a subset of patients with a severe bleeding phenotype. The ankle joint is disproportionally affected by ankle haemarthropathy however the impact has not been evaluated in moderate haemophilia, nor the effect on health related quality of life (HRQoL) or foot and ankle outcomes.To establish the impact of ankle haemarthropathy in patients with moderate haemophilia.A multicentre questionnaire study recruited patients from 11 haemophilia centres in England, Scotland and Wales. The HAEMO-QoL-A and Manchester-Oxford foot and ankle questionnaire (MOXFQ) with total and domain scores measured impact. Measures of pain and ankle haemophilia joint health (HJHS) scores were also collected.Twenty-nine participants were recruited. HAEMO-QoL A mean (SD) total scores of 10.8 (5.2) of 100 (best health) and foot and ankle specific MOXFQ total scores of 45.5 (24.7) above zero (best outcome) indicate poor HRQoL and foot and ankle outcomes. Average ankle pain over past 6 months of (0-10) 5.5 (SD2.5) was reported and median (IQR) ankle HJHS of 3.0 (1;12.5) to 4.5 (0;9.5) for the left and right ankles.HRQoL and foot and ankle specific outcomes are poor in patients with moderate haemophilia and ankle haemarthropathy, driven by chronic levels of ankle joint pain. Despite moderate haemophilia being considered less affected by haemarthrosis and haemarthropathy, patients with a bleeding or haemarthropathy phenotype are clinically similar to patients with severe haemophilia A.

Satellite conjunctions involving "near misses" of space objects are becoming increasingly likely. One approach to risk analysis for them involves the computation of the collision probability, but this has been regarded as having some counter-intuitive properties and its interpretation has been debated. This paper formulates an approach to satellite conjunction based on a simple statistical model and discusses inference on the miss distance between the two objects, both when the relative velocity can be taken as known and when its uncertainty must be taken into account. It is pointed out that the usual collision probability estimate can be badly biased, but that highly accurate inference on the miss distance is possible. The ideas are illustrated with case studies and Monte Carlo results that show its excellent performance., 36 pages, 7 figures

Learning the structure of a Bayesian Network (BN) with score-based solutions involves exploring the search space of possible graphs and moving towards the graph that maximises a given objective function. Some algorithms offer exact solutions that guarantee to return the graph with the highest objective score, while others offer approximate solutions in exchange for reduced computational complexity. This paper describes an approximate BN structure learning algorithm, which we call Model Averaging Hill-Climbing (MAHC), that combines two novel strategies with hill-climbing search. The algorithm starts by pruning the search space of graphs, where the pruning strategy can be viewed as an aggressive version of the pruning strategies that are typically applied to combinatorial optimisation structure learning problems. It then performs model averaging in the hill-climbing search process and moves to the neighbouring graph that maximises the objective function, on average, for that neighbouring graph and over all its valid neighbouring graphs. Comparisons with other algorithms spanning different classes of learning suggest that the combination of aggressive pruning with model averaging is both effective and efficient, particularly in the presence of data noise.

Dementia rates within Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations are estimated to be three to five times higher than non-Indigenous populations. Geographical and cultural barriers demand creative ways of delivering culturally appropriate effective dementia care. Focus groups and interviews with people ( N = 73) from three Aboriginal Medical Services and communities explored attitudes toward, and experiences of dementia care and services. A thematic analysis highlighted the juxtaposition between biomedical and culturally appropriate models of dementia care. Services at the cultural interface can be adapted to facilitate appropriate dementia care at a local level allowing people to stay on Country, supported by people within one’s own Community.

Conventional gasoline engines suffer from low performance and NOx emissions. Controlled auto-ignition (CAI), sometimes referred to as homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI), is a promising concept to solve such problems. CAI has the potential to improve spark ignition (SI) engine fuel economy while at the same time solving the trade-off of NOx-soot emissions found in compression ignition (CI) engines. The CAI engine can reach a fuel economy comparable to that of a conventional diesel engine with ultra-low NOx and negligible soot emissions. However, controlling auto-ignition remains the biggest difficulty that hinders the implementation of CAI as a commercial engine. Research towards a cleaner and more efficient engine is driven by the progressively stringent emission regulation imposed worldwide. Therefore, the CAI was developed to meet the emissions target while maintaining engine performance. CAI works on the principle of lean mixture and auto-ignition. To obtain CAI combustion, the temperatures in the cylinder must be sufficient to initiate auto-ignition. Without the use of a spark plug or injector, the CAI suffers from a direct control mechanism to start the combustion. The most practical approach to controlling the initiation of auto-ignition in CAI is diluting the intake charge by either trapping the residual gas or recirculating the exhaust gas. Both approaches enable the engine to achieve CAI combustion without requiring significant modifications to control the onset of CAI combustion phase.

In Australia, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the exponential growth in the delivery of telehealth services. Medicare data indicates that the majority of telehealth consultations have used the telephone, despite the known benefits of using video. The aim of this study was to understand the perceived quality and effectiveness of in-person, telephone and videoconsultations for cancer care. Data was collected via online surveys with consumers ( n = 1162) and health professionals ( n = 59), followed by semi-structured interviews with telehealth experienced health professionals ( n = 22) and consumers ( n = 18). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and significance was tested using the chi-square test. A framework analysis and thematic analysis were used for qualitative data. Results indicate telehealth is suitable for use across the cancer care pathway. However, consumers and health professionals perceived videoconsultations facilitated visual communication and improved patients’ quality of care. The telephone was appropriate for short transactional consultations such as repeat prescriptions. Consumers were rarely given the choice of consultation modality. The choice of modality depended on a range of factors such as the type of consultation and stage of cancer care. Hybrid models of care utilising in-person, video and telephone should be developed and requires further guidance to promote the adoption of telehealth in cancer care.

Stress has a detrimental impact on memory, the hippocampus, and psychological health. Psychopathology research on stress has centered mainly on psychiatric diagnoses rather than symptom dimensions, and less attention has been given to the neurobiological factors through which stress might be translated into psychopathology. The present work investigates the transdiagnostic relationship of cumulative stress with episodic memory and the hippocampus (both structure and function) and explores the extent to which stress mediates the relationship between personality psychopathology and hippocampal size and activation. Cumulative lifetime stress was assessed in a sample of females recruited to vary in stress exposure and severity of personality psychopathology. Fifty-six participants completed subjective and objective tests of episodic memory, a T2-weighted high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the medial-temporal lobe, and functional MRI (fMRI) scanning during a learning and recognition memory task. Higher cumulative stress was significantly related to memory complaints (but not episodic memory performance), lower bilateral hippocampal volume, and greater encoding-related hippocampal activation during the presentation of novel stimuli. Furthermore, cumulative stress significantly mediated the relationship between personality psychopathology and both hippocampal volume and activation, whereas alternative mediation models were not supported. The findings suggest that structural and functional activation differences in the hippocampus observed in case-control studies of psychiatric diagnoses may share cumulative stress as a common factor, which may mediate broadly reported relationships between psychopathology and hippocampal structure and function.

Although several different contouring instructional programs are available to radiation oncologists and trainees, very little is known about which methods and resources benefit learners most, and whether some learners may need alternate forms of instruction. This study aimed to determine the factors that were predictors of learners' success in anatomy, radiology, and contouring education.Participants in the online and face-to-face Anatomy and Radiology Contouring (ARC) Bootcamp completed pre- and postintervention evaluations that assessed anatomy/radiology knowledge, contouring skills, self-confidence, and spatial ability. Baseline factors were assessed as predictors of outcomes across multiple educational domains.One hundred and eighty (face-to-face: n = 40; online: n = 140) participants enrolled in the ARC Bootcamp, and 57 (face-to-face: n = 30; online: n = 27) participants completed both evaluations. Of the participants enrolled, 37% were female, and most were radiation oncology residents (62%). In the anatomy/radiology knowledge testing, all quartiles (based on baseline performance) improved numerically; however, the largest improvements occurred in learners with the lowest baseline scores (P.001). At the end of the Bootcamp, learners with lower-performing scores did not reach the level of learners with the highest baseline scores (Bonferroni-corrected P.001). Regarding the contouring assessment, improvements were only evident for the participants with lower-performing baseline scores (P.05). Spatial anatomy skills, as measured by the spatial anatomy task, were correlated to contouring ability. Overall, the greatest improvements were seen for learners in postgraduate year 1 to 3, those with no previous rotation experience in a given discipline, and those who attended from other programs (ie, medical physics residents and medical students).The ARC Bootcamp improved all levels of performers' anatomy and radiology knowledge but only lower-performers' contouring ability. The course alone does not help lower-performing learners reach the abilities of higher-performers. The ARC Bootcamp tends to be most beneficial for participants with less radiation oncology experience. Curriculum modifications can be made to help support ARC Bootcamp participants with lower performing scores.

This study investigated whether relationship satisfaction mediates the association between attachment styles and mate-retention strategies. Four-hundred and twenty individuals in a heterosexual committed relationship participated in this study (79.7% women; Mage = 23.22; SDage = 8.07). Participants completed questionnaires assessing attachment styles, relationship satisfaction, and mate-retention strategies. The results replicated previous findings by showing that insecure attachment is positively associated with benefit-provisioning and cost-inflicting mate-retention strategies and extended previous research by showing that relationship satisfaction mediates these associations. The present findings confirm evolutionary predictions on romantic relationships that relationship satisfaction may serve as a monitor determining how individuals act to preserve their relationships.
