Multichannel electroencephalogram (EEG) is an array signal that represents brain neural networks and can be applied to characterize information propagation patterns for different emotional states. To reveal these inherent spatial graph features and increase the stability of emotion recognition, we propose an effective emotion recognition model that performs multicategory emotion recognition with multiple emotion-related spatial network topology patterns (MESNPs) by learning discriminative graph topologies in EEG brain networks. To evaluate the performance of our proposed MESNP model, we conducted single-subject and multisubject four-class classification experiments on two public datasets, MAHNOB-HCI and DEAP. Compared with existing feature extraction methods, the MESNP model significantly enhances the multiclass emotional classification performance in the single-subject and multisubject conditions. To evaluate the online version of the proposed MESNP model, we designed an online emotion monitoring system. We recruited 14 participants to conduct the online emotion decoding experiments. The average online experimental accuracy of the 14 participants was 84.56%, indicating that our model can be applied in affective brain–computer interface (aBCI) systems. The offline and online experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MESNP model effectively captures discriminative graph topology patterns and significantly improves emotion classification performance. Peripheral injury during the early postnatal period alters the somatosensory system, leading to behavioural hyperalgesia upon re-injury in adulthood. Spinal microglia have been implicated as the cellular mediators of this phenomenon, but the mechanism is unclear. We hypothesised that neonatal injury (1) alters microglial phagocytosis of synapses in the dorsal horn leading to long-term structural changes in neurons, and/or (2) trains microglia, leading to a stronger microglial response after re-injury in adulthood. Using hindpaw surgical incision as a model we showed that microglial density and phagocytosis increased in the dorsal horn region innervated by the hindpaw. Dorsal horn microglia increased engulfment of synapses following injury, with a preference for those expressing the vesicular GABA transporter VGAT and primary afferent A-fibre terminals in neonates. This led to a long-term reduction of VGAT density in the dorsal horn and reduced microglial phagocytosis of VGLUT2 terminals. We also saw an increase in apoptosis following neonatal injury, which was not limited to the dorsal horn suggesting that larger circuit wide changes are happening.In adults, hindpaw incision increased microglial engulfment of predominantly VGAT synapses but did not alter the engulfment of A-fibres. This engulfment was not affected by prior neonatal injury, suggesting that microglial phagocytosis was not trained. These results highlight microglial phagocytosis in the dorsal horn as an important physiological response towards peripheral injury with potential long-term consequences and reveals differences in microglial responses between neonates and adults.

Under the environment of economic development and consumption upgrade, cross-border import e-commerce is developing faster and faster. With the reduction of product differentiation between platforms and the gradual saturation of business model dividends, maintaining customer loyalty has become the key to improve the competitiveness of platforms. This article mainly from the perspective of customer experience, explores the main aspects of experience that affect customer loyalty, and then finds the direction for improvement and puts forward corresponding suggestions for improvement. This paper takes customer experience as independent variable and customer loyalty as dependent variable, establishes models and hypotheses, collects data by designing a questionnaire, uses SPSS 22.0 to do correlation regression analysis on the collected data, validates hypotheses and models, and finally concludes that customer experience directly affects customer loyalty. The most significant positive impact on customer loyalty is service experience, website, product, Logistics and payment experience. It also puts forward suggestions to enhance customer loyalty, such as strengthening customer relationship management.

Ice aprons are defined as very small ice bodies covering steep rock slopes. They have only been the subject of increased scientific interest for a few years, despite the fact that they are a condition for mountaineering and obvious elements in the high-alpine landscapes. However, very little is known about their distribution, evolution and physical characteristics. In this paper, we review the existing knowledge on ice aprons, which have almost exclusively been investigated in the Mont-Blanc massif, Western Alps. We supplement this review with novel results from recent surveys of ice aprons. We used a wide array of methodologies, from remote sensing (multi-source imagery) to in situ (stakes and thermal monitoring) and laboratory (radiocarbon dating and texture analysis) glaciological investigations. In the Mont-Blanc massif, ice aprons occupy 4.2 km2 within the alpine permafrost zone. Temperature measured at the ice–rock interface is indeed largely negative. Thinness of ice aprons coupled with the cold context implies a quasi-stationary shear regime without basal Sliding. Only ice at the surface can possibly melt in warm periods. After a shrinking period from the end of the Little Ice Age to the mid-to-late-1960s, ice aprons experienced a short period of expansion, followed by an accelerated shrinkage since the beginning of the 21st century. This shrinkage now favours rockfall triggering and poses a serious threat to a glaciological heritage since ice aprons host several-thousand-year-old ice. Finally, we synthesize this information to assess the existing definition of ice aprons, and propose some future research directions.

Fines migration associated with the multiphase flow in the exploitation of hydrate-bearing sediments (HBS) usually induces local clogging and sand production around wells, and thus its behavior with multi-field coupling is of vital importance but still poorly discovered. This paper establishes a coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) model incorporating fines migration in HBS from micro- to macro-scale. Two typical hydrate pore habits, i.e., grain coating and pore filling, are simulated with the discrete element method (DEM) under different depressurization modes, water flow is simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and heat transfer and chemical reactions are also considered in coupled CFD-DEM simulations. Two distinct fines migration modes and their consequence on the mechanical and hydromechanical properties are revealed. For the grain-coating habit, the coarse particle size reduction induced by hydrate dissociation under an intense depressurization decreases the constriction size, increasing the local pore-clogging probability and reducing the growth rate of the hydraulic conductivity. Conversely, the fine particle size reduction in the pore-filling habit facilitates fines migration and thus sand production, with hydromechanical properties of HBS evolving oppositely compared to the clogging case.

Purpose Atherosclerosis tends to occur in the distinctive carotid sinus, leading to vascular stenosis and then causing death. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of sinus sizes, positions and hematocrit on blood flow dynamics and heat transfer by different numerical approaches. Design/methodology/approach The fluid flow and heat transfer in the carotid artery with three different sinus sizes, three different sinus locations and four different hematocrits are studied by both computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and fluid-structure interaction (FSI) methods. An ideal geometric model and temperature-dependent non-Newtonian viscosity are adopted, while the wall heat flux concerning convection, radiation and evaporation is used. Findings With increasing sinus size, the average velocity and temperature of the blood fluid decrease, and the area of time average wall shear stress (TAWSS)with small values decreases. As the distances between sinuses and bifurcation points increase, the average temperature and the maximum TAWSS decrease. Atherosclerosis is more likely to develop when the sinuses are enlarged, when the sinuses are far from bifurcation points, or when the hematocrit is relatively large or small. The probability of thrombosis forming and developing becomes larger when the sinus becomes larger and the hematocrit is small enough. The movement of the arterial wall obviously reduces the velocity of blood flow, blood temperature and WSS. This study also suggests that the elastic role of arterial walls cannot be ignored. Originality/value The hemodynamics of the internal carotid artery sinus in a carotid artery with a bifurcation structure have been investigated thoroughly, on which the impacts of many factors have been considered, including the non-Newtonian behavior of blood and empirical boundary conditions. The results when the FSI is considered and absent are compared.

Background: Myocardial insulin resistance is a hallmark of diabetic cardiac injury. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. Recent studies demonstrate that the diabetic heart is resistant to other cardioprotective interventions, including adiponectin and preconditioning. The “universal” resistance to multiple therapeutic interventions suggests impairment of the requisite molecule(s) involved in broad prosurvival signaling cascades. Cav (Caveolin) is a scaffolding protein coordinating transmembrane signaling transduction. However, the role of Cav3 in diabetic impairment of cardiac protective signaling and diabetic ischemic heart failure is unknown. Methods: Wild-type and gene-manipulated mice were fed a normal diet or high-fat diet for 2 to 12 weeks and subjected to myocardial ischemia and reperfusion. Insulin cardioprotection was determined. Results: Compared with the normal diet group, the cardioprotective effect of insulin was significantly blunted as early as 4 weeks of high-fat diet feeding (prediabetes), a time point where expression levels of insulin-signaling molecules remained unchanged. However, Cav3/insulin receptor-β complex formation was significantly reduced. Among multiple posttranslational modifications altering protein/protein interaction, Cav3 (not insulin receptor-β) tyrosine nitration is prominent in the prediabetic heart. Treatment of cardiomyocytes with 5-amino-3-(4-morpholinyl)-1,2,3-oxadiazolium chloride reduced the signalsome complex and blocked insulin transmembrane signaling. Mass spectrometry identified Tyr 73 as the Cav3 nitration site. Phenylalanine substitution of Tyr 73 (Cav3 Y73F ) abolished 5-amino-3-(4-morpholinyl)-1,2,3-oxadiazolium chloride–induced Cav3 nitration, restored Cav3/insulin receptor-β complex, and rescued insulin transmembrane signaling. It is most important that adeno-associated virus 9–mediated cardiomyocyte-specific Cav3 Y73F reexpression blocked high-fat diet–induced Cav3 nitration, preserved Cav3 signalsome integrity, restored transmembrane signaling, and rescued insulin-protective action against ischemic heart failure. Last, diabetic nitrative modification of Cav3 at Tyr 73 also reduced Cav3/AdipoR1 complex formation and blocked adiponectin cardioprotective signaling. Conclusions: Nitration of Cav3 at Tyr 73 and resultant signal complex dissociation results in cardiac insulin/adiponectin resistance in the prediabetic heart, contributing to ischemic heart failure progression. Early interventions preserving Cav3-centered signalsome integrity is an effective novel strategy against diabetic exacerbation of ischemic heart failure.

Adoptive cellular immunotherapy with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells has emerged as a novel modality for treating relapsed and/or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). With increasing approval of CAR T-cell products and advances in CAR T cell therapy, CAR T cells are expected to be used in a growing number of cases. However, CAR T-cell-associated toxicities can be severe or even fatal, thus compromising the survival benefit from this therapy. Standardizing and studying the clinical management of these toxicities are imperative. In contrast to other hematological malignancies, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma, anti-CD19 CAR T-cell-associated toxicities in B-NHL have several distinctive features, most notably local cytokine-release syndrome (CRS). However, previously published guidelines have provided few specific recommendations for the grading and management of toxicities associated with CAR T-cell treatment for B-NHL. Consequently, we developed this consensus for the prevention, recognition, and management of these toxicities, on the basis of published literature regarding the management of anti-CD19 CAR T-cell-associated toxicities and the clinical experience of multiple Chinese institutions. This consensus refines a grading system and classification of CRS in B-NHL and corresponding measures for CRS management, and delineates comprehensive principles and exploratory recommendations for managing anti-CD19 CAR T-cell-associated toxicities in addition to CRS.

International audience; This paper investigates a distributed fuzzy adaptive formation control for quadrotor multiple unmanned aerial vehicles under unmodeled dynamics and switching topologies. The unmanned aerial vehicles dynamics model is described by the Newton-Euler formula, and the actuator faults are considered in the system model in the form of multiplicative factors and additive factors. Due to the underactuated characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicles, two objective attitude commands are generated by designing a virtual control signal, which are transmitted to the attitude subsystem, and then the position controller is solved. By constructing a distributed communication mechanism between unmanned aerial vehicles, an adaptive formation control strategy is proposed, which can enable unmanned aerial vehicles to update their position and speed online according to their neighbor information, and then achieve the required formation. In addition, a fuzzy adaptive sliding mode controller is designed to ensure that the tracking errors of unmanned aerial vehicles converge to the neighborhood of the origin. Finally, the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Introduction. Along with blood glucose levels, diabetic retinopathy (DR) development also involves endogenous risk factors, such as trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), a product of intestinal flora metabolic disorder, which exacerbates diabetic microvascular complications. However, the effect of TMAO on retinal cells under high-glucose conditions remains unclear. Therefore, this study examined the effects of TMAO on high-glucose-induced retinal dysfunction in the context of NLRP3 inflammasome activation, which is involved in DR. Materials and Methods. TMAO was assessed in the serum and aqueous humor of patients using ELISA. Human retinal microvascular endothelial cells (HRMECs) were treated for 72 h as follows: NG (normal glucose, D-glucose 5.5 mM), NG + TMAO (5 μM), HG (high glucose, D-glucose 30 mM), and HG + TMAO (5 μM). The CCK8 assay was then used to assess cell proliferation; wound healing, cell migration, and tube formation assays were used to verify changes in cell phenotype. ZO-1 expression was determined using immunofluorescence and western blotting. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation was assessed using DCFH-DA. NLRP3 inflammasome complex activation was determined using a western blot. Results. The serum and aqueous humor from patients with PDR contained higher levels of TMAO compared to patients with nontype 2 diabetes (Control), non-DR (NDR), and non-PDR (NPDR). TMAO showed significant acceleration of high-glucose-induced cell proliferation, wound healing, cell migration, and tube formation. ZO-1 expression decreased remarkably with the combined action of TMAO and a high glucose compared to either treatment alone. TMAO also promoted high-glucose-activated NLRP3 inflammasome complex. Conclusion. The combination of TMAO and high-glucose results in increased levels of ROS and NLRP3 inflammasome complex activation in HRMECs, leading to exacerbated retinal dysfunction and barrier failure. Thus, TMAO can accelerate PDR occurrence and development, thus indicating the need for early fundus monitoring in diabetic patients with intestinal flora disorders.

Aiming at the teaching difficulties of signal and system course, adapting to the new situation of the information age and the engineering education of outcome-based education (OBE), adhering to the traditional classroom teaching and making full use of the network teaching platform and internet technology, a blended teaching mode of internet-engineering education (BTM-IEE) is proposed. In this mode, we adhered to the educational concept of OBE, formulated teaching objectives, optimized teaching content, and built matching teaching resources. In three teaching stages: before class, in class and after class, online-offline blended teaching was effectively organized and implemented by using internet technology, network teaching platform, independently developed a comprehensive experimental system, remote virtual experiment platform, QQ group, etc. In order to ensure a good cycle of teaching quality, a multi-dimensional evaluation system is constructed. A variety of application examples and questionnaire data showed that BTM-IEE can achieve a deep integration of in class-out of class and online-offline, improve students’ engineering application ability, autonomous learning ability, cooperation, communication ability, and cultivate innovative thinking. The horizontal and vertical comparison between the traditional and the improved teaching mode shows that the BTM-IEE can improve the teaching effect, the excellent rate is significantly increased, and the failure rate is significantly reduced. This mode provides a reference for the improvement of the teaching quality of professional courses and has important practical significance.

With the rising fervor of Belt and Road, it has drawn attention and research to the ancient Silk Road commodity trade exchanges, of which ancient glass products are valuable physical evidence of the early commodity trade exchanges. Now the chemical composition of ancient glass is analyzed and identified, which helps to find out the key and know-how of ancient glass products refining technology. In this paper, we establish a chi-square test and Spearman correlation analysis model to quantitatively analyze the relationship between weathering and type, decoration and color to establish a weathering interval estimation model, so as to predict the chemical composition content before weathering. Logistic dichotomous classification model, BP neural network model, BP neural network model optimized by genetic algorithm and random forest classification prediction model were established respectively to predict three high potassium glasses and five lead-barium glasses out of eight compounds.
