Over the recent years there is an intense development of hybrid intelligent systems, which allow to use advantages of traditional means and methods of artificial intelligence and which at the same time compensate for some deficiencies and are able to solve tasks, that cannot be solved by separate artificial intelligence methods. The article is about main peculiarities and areas of application of functional hybrid intelligent systems, also a new approach in the development of similar systems on the basis of neurophysiology and multi-agent systems is proposed. There is an example of successful application of proposed methods in modeling of important range of complex application systems, i.e. multicomponent, poorly formalized systems, which function in various types of uncertainty.
