Pharmacological blockade of mineralocorticoid receptors (MRs) is a potential therapeutic approach to reduce cardiovascular complications since MRs play a crucial role in cardiovascular regulation. Recent studies suggest that MR antagonists affect several extrarenal tissues, including vessel function. We investigated the effect of a novel nonsteroidal selective MR blocker, esaxerenone, on diabetes-induced vascular dysfunction.Diabetes was induced by a single dose of streptozotocin in 8-week-old male C57BL/6 mice. Esaxerenone (3 mg/kg/day) or a vehicle was administered by gavage to diabetic mice for 3 weeks. Metabolic parameters, plasma aldosterone levels, and parameters related to renal function were measured. Endothelium-dependent or -independent vascular responses of the aortic segments were analyzed with acetylcholine or sodium nitroprusside, respectively. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were used for the in vitro study.Induction of diabetes elevated plasma aldosterone level (P＜0.05) and impaired endothelium-dependent vascular relaxation (P＜0.05). The administration of esaxerenone ameliorated the endothelial dysfunction (P＜0.01) without the alteration of metabolic parameters, blood pressure, and renal function. Esaxerenone improved the eNOSEsaxerenone attenuates the development of diabetes-induced endothelial dysfunction in mice. These results suggest that esaxerenone has potential vascular protective effects in individuals with diabetes.

Thomas Aquinas uses the term “mode” (modus) in various contexts, and some remarkable usages are found in his discussions on virtues. Aquinas places virtues other than the four cardinal virtues in the “potential parts” of the cardinal virtues, for instance, placing generosity (liberalitas) as a potential part of justice. Although the potential parts of a cardinal virtue are not species of the cardinal virtue, they have close connections with it. In order to explain these connections, Aquinas says that the potential parts of a cardinal virtue agree with the cardinal virtue in mode. He also claims that the mode of a virtue is, as it were, a sort of a form of the virtue, whence the virtue derives its praise and its name (ST II-II, q. 157, a. 3). In this claim, we find metaphysical, ethical, and semantic aspects of modes. In this article, we first examine Aquinas’s usages of “modes of virtues” in order to see these aspects of modes. We conclude that “mode” means “a limit which is not to be exceeded” and “a way.” Next, we move on to the metaphysical aspect. Aquinas has elaborate discussions on “modes,” interpreting Augustine’s triad of “mode-species-order,” the three elements which Augustine claims to be in every good created being. We will analyse three major texts in which Aquinas treats the triad as three essential components of every good creature: ST I, q. 5, a. 5, De veritate, q. 21, a. 6, and ST II-I, q. 85, a. 4. By analyzing and connecting Aquinas’s different statements about modes, we clarify what modes are and how they are related to being (esse) and forms in Aquinas’s metaphysical system. Finally, we consider the semantic aspect, building on the preceding analyses. Since “mode” is a word that can connote perfection as well as limitation, it is possible to state that God is a mode. Since the mode is a higher principle than the form, which determines the genus and species, the mode can be a foundation of analogical predication, in which the same word is applied to things of different genera and beyond (i.e., God).

Purpose The impact of progesterone receptor (PR) status on the prognosis of breast cancer after isolated locoregional recurrence (ILRR) remains unclear. This study evaluated the impact of clinicopathologic factors, including PR status of ILRR, on distant metastasis (DM) after ILRR. Methods We retrospectively identified 306 patients with ILRR diagnosed at the National Cancer Center Hospital between 1993 and 2021 from the database. Cox proportional hazards analysis was performed to examine factors associated with DM after ILRR. We developed a risk prediction model based on the number of detected risk factors and estimated survival curves using the Kaplan–Meier method. Results During a median follow-up time of 4.7 years after ILRR diagnosis, 86 patients developed DM, and 50 died. Multivariate analysis revealed that seven risk factors were associated with poor distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS): estrogen receptor-positive/PR-negative/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative ILRR, short disease-free interval, recurrence site other than ipsilateral breast, no-resection of ILRR tumor, chemotherapy for the primary tumor, nodal stage in the primary tumor, and no endocrine therapy for ILRR. The predictive model classified patients into 4 groups based on the number of risk factors: low-, intermediate-, high-, and the highest-risk groups with 0 to 1, 2, 3 to 4, and 5 to 7 factors, respectively. This revealed significant variation in DMFS among the groups. A higher number of the risk factors was associated with poorer DMFS. Conclusion Our prediction model, which considered the ILRR receptor status, may contribute to the development of a treatment strategy for ILRR.

Although the categorization of ultrasound using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) has become widespread worldwide, the problem of inter-observer variability remains. To maintain uniformity in diagnostic accuracy, we have developed a novel artificial intelligence (AI) system in which AI can distinguish whether a static image obtained using a breast ultrasound represents BI-RADS3 or lower, or BI-RADS4a or higher, to determine the medical management that should be performed on a patient whose breast ultrasound shows abnormalities. To establish and validate the AI system, a training dataset consisting of 4,028 images containing 5,014 lesions and a test dataset consisting of 3,166 images containing 3,656 lesions were collected and annotated. We selected a setting that maximized the area under the curve (AUC) and minimized the difference in sensitivity and specificity by adjusting the internal parameters of the AI system, achieving an AUC, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.95, 90.0%, and 88.5%, respectively. Furthermore, based on 30 images extracted from the test data, the diagnostic accuracy of 20 clinicians and the AI system was compared, and the AI system was found to be significantly superior to the clinicians (McNemar test, p < 0.001). Then, we conducted a trial to introduce the system for use in clinical practice. Physicians reviewed the images and determined whether they were BI-RADS3 or lower, or BI-RADS4a or higher. Next, the classification was performed again for the same images concerning the AI diagnosis. At this time, the initial judgment was allowed to be overturned. We checked whether there was any difference in the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity before and after reviewing to the AI diagnosis. Reviews by 24 physicians were evaluated: 4 Japanese Breast Cancer Society breast specialists, 5 non-specialists and physicians with experience treating more than 40 cases of breast cancer, and 15 non-specialists and physicians with no experience treating more than 40 cases of breast cancer. The average rate of accuracy before confirming the AI diagnosis increased to 73.1% after confirming the AI diagnosis (p=0.00548), compared to 69.3% on average before the AI diagnosis. Compared to practice experience, the accuracy increased from an average of 77.1% to 79.6% for the 9 physicians who were breast specialists or who had treated 40 or more cases of breast cancer. For the 15 physicians with less than 40 breast cancer cases, the average rate of accuracy increased from 64.7% to 69.2%. Furthermore, sensitivity increased significantly to an average of 99.7% after reviewing of the AI diagnosis from an average of 88.8% prior to reviewing the AI-diagnosis.(p< 0.01). Specificity increased from an average of 62.4% to 63.8% (p=0.433) after reviewing AI diagnosis. We showed that our AI system, when applied to clinical practice and used by physicians, contributes to the improvement of diagnostic accuracy. Our results indicated that our AI diagnostic system was sufficiently accurate to be used in the clinical practice. The classical quantum theory of Bohr does not take the theory of relativity into account. The energy levels of a hydrogen atom, derived by Bohr, are known to be approximations. In this paper, the kinetic energy and momentum of an electron in a hydrogen atom are reated relativistically. This paper predicts the existence of an n=0 energy level present in a hydrogen atom. However, the state where n=0 is not an energy level of the electron comprising the hydrogen atom. It is thought that an electron in the n=0 state forms a pair with a positron, and constitutes the vacuum inside the hydrogen atom.

As the second part of my study on “modes” (modi) in Thomas Aquinas, this article investigates ethical aspects of “modes” in various texts of his. First, we examine the texts in which Aquinas treats the “mode of a virtue” (modus virtutis) and consider what it is. The term often connotes the mean of the virtue. In order to understand the varieties of the mode or the mean of the virtue, we explain how moral, intellectual, and theological virtues are in the middle. Unlike ethical and intellectual virtues, theological virtues are not essentially in the middle, and the term “mode of a virtue” designates more broadly the way in which a genuine virtue is exercised. We also consider how this “mode of a virtue” is related to the “mode of reason” (modus rationis) and the “mode of nature” (modus naturae) in the case of moral virtues. Thus, Aquinas uses the term to explicate the nature of virtues. He also employs it in order to classify various virtues into potential parts of the cardinal virtues and to explain how we praise virtues and name them. Second, we scrutinise Aquinas’s interpretation of “modes of courage” (modi fortitudinis), false virtues that appear to be the virtue of courage but are not truly. Through the analysis, we come to understand the difference between the “mode of a virtue” per se and the “mode of a virtue” per accidens. Third, we look at different types of “mode of an action” (modus actionis/agendi) and reach the depth of the equivocity of “mode” in Aquinas’s writings. Aquinas uses the term “mode of an action” in different senses. The term sometimes signifies an action itself: for instance, the mode of the action proper to God is to give being (esse). In many cases, however, the term signifies an attribute of an action. In some cases, it designates “a way, ” i.e., “a circumstance” (circumstantia) of an action distinguished from the other circumstances of an action: for instance, “rapidly” and “slowly” are modes of the action “walking.” In some cases, it signifies a consequence of all the circumstances of an action: (being done in) a good or bad manner is a mode of an action of this type. In other cases, it signifies a consequence of the action: for instance, “delightfully” or “sadly” is a mode of an action consequent upon the action. Throughout our investigation, we observe “modes” in ethical aspects have much in common with those in ontological aspects. The term “mode” means “a limit” and more broadly “a way” in ethical contexts as well. The “mode of a virtue” consists in the determination or commensuration of material and efficient principles of a virtuous action. In fact, we discover more commensurations or proportions in the mode of a virtue than in the mode of a natural kind, and this could explain why we find virtuous actions more beautiful than natural kinds.

Objetivo: Identificar as experiências e discriminações vividas pela população LGBTQIA+ em envelhecimento durante a prestação dos serviços de saúde. Método: Estudo exploratório de abordagem qualitativa, por meio da aplicação de um questionário com informações sociodemográficas e questões sobre experiências anteriores dentro de instituições de saúde e percepção do cuidado recebido. Resultados: Participaram nove pessoas, predominantemente, identificadas como homens cisgêneros; e, apenas um estava com idade entre 65 e 70 anos. Em sua maioria buscam o serviço de saúde duas vezes ao ano motivado principalmente por problemas particulares, do sistema respiratório, hipertensão arterial ou dores persistentes. Indicaram não haver desencorajamento para a procura de serviços e a maioria não relatou experiências de discriminação. Conclusão: A baixa frequência de discriminação pode indicar a dificuldade de caracterizar a exposição e/ou vivências por esta população. Sendo assim, deve-se buscar entender o que essa população considera discriminação por parte dos serviços de saúde a pessoas LGBTQIA + durante o processo de envelhecimento. Structural proteomics techniques are useful for identifying the binding sites of proteins. The surface of a target protein with and without a bound binding partner is artificially labeled using a hydroxy radical, deuterium, or a low-molecular-weight chemical, and the difference in the label strength with and without the bound partner is determined. Label strength maps are then prepared on the Protein Data Bank (PDB) structure to identify the binding surface. However, the surface-accessible sites determined using such structural proteomics methods are frequently inconsistent with those calculated based on PDB structures, speculating that the measurement determines chemical accessibility rather than solvent accessibility. We develop a general framework to compute photometric variations induced by the oblique rotation of a star with an axisymmetric inhomogeneous surface. We apply the framework to compute lightcurves of white dwarfs adopting two simple models of their surface inhomogeneity. Depending on the surface model and the location of the observer, the resulting lightcurve exhibits a departure from a purely sinusoidal curve that are observed for a fraction of white dwarfs. As a specific example, we fit our model to the observed phase-folded lightcurve of a fast-spinning white dwarf ZTF J190132.9+145808.7 (with the rotation period of 419s). We find that the size and obliquity angle of the spot responsible for the photometric variation are $\dts \approx 60^\circ$ and $\thetaS \approx 60^\circ$ or $90^\circ$, respectively, implying an interesting constraint on the surface distribution of the magnetic field on white dwarfs., 25 pages, 9 figures, accepted for publication in PASJ

BackgroundRecently, the survival rate of patients with cancer has improved annually due to advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment technologies. Meanwhile, late-onset complications associated with cancer treatment significantly affect survival and quality of life. However, different from pediatric cancer survivors, there is no unified view on the follow-up of late complications in elderly cancer survivors. We reported a case of congestive heart failure as a late-onset complication of doxorubicin (DXR) in an elderly cancer survivor.Case reportThe patient is an 80-year-old woman with hypertension and chronic renal failure. She received six cycles of chemotherapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma that started in January 201X-2. The total dose of DXR was 300 mg/m2, and a transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) performed in October 201X-2, showed good left ventricular wall motion (LVWM). In April 201X, she suddenly developed dyspnea. Upon arrival at the hospital, a physical examination revealed orthopnea, tachycardia, and leg edema. A chest radiograph showed cardiac enlargement and pleural effusion. A TTE showed diffusely reduced LVWM and a left ventricular ejection fraction in the 20% range. After close examination, the patient was diagnosed with congestive heart failure due to late-onset DXR-induced cardiomyopathy.ConclusionLate-onset DXR-induced cardiotoxicity is considered high-risk from 250 mg/m2 or higher. Elderly cancer survivors are at higher risk of cardiotoxicity than non-elderly cancer survivors and may require closer follow-up.

A 61-year-old man tested positive for occult urinary and fecal occult blood and was diagnosed with invasive prostate cancer extensively infiltrating the rectum. After scrutiny, he was diagnosed with cT4N1M0 prostate cancer, and androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) was initiated with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist. A prostatic rectal resection was performed 6 months after ADT began. The bladder and urethra were anastomosed, the anus was preserved intact, and the sigmoid colon was anastomosed to the anus. A temporary ileostomy was constructed to allow eating and to prevent fistula formation. The ileostomy was closed 5 months post-operation as the patient wanted to live without a stoma. Although the patient died of other disease factors, he remained untreated for 1 year and 7 months post-operation, and his symptoms and disease control were well supported. We report that we were able to perform stoma-free surgical treatment for prostate cancer extensively infiltrating rectum.

Small-colony variants (SCVs) of bacteria are subpopulations with a small colony size, low growth rate, and atypical colony morphology. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively elucidate the characteristics and underlying mechanism of the development of a glutamine-dependent SCV of E. coli, GU-92The GU-92The colony of the GU-92To the best of our knowledge, this is the first clinical isolation of a glutamine-dependent E. coli SCV from a patient blood culture. Our data showed that glnA was important for the growth of E. coli in Mueller-Hinton II medium, which also required the presence of glutamine when performing antimicrobial susceptibility testing for glutamine-dependent SCV strains.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by type 2 immune responses. Interleukin-25 (IL-25) is produced predominantly by epithelial cells. It can activate Th2 cells to produce type 2 cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13, contributing to host defense against nematodes. However, excessive/inappropriate production of IL-25 is considered to be involved in development of type 2 cytokine-associated allergic disorders such as asthma. On the other hand, the contribution of IL-25 to the pathogenesis of AD remains poorly understood. In the present study, we found that expression of Il25 mRNA was significantly increased in the skin of mice during oxazolone-induced chronic contact hypersensitivity (CHS), which is a mouse model of human AD. The Thermal and Near-Infrared Sensor for Carbon Observation Fourier-Transform Spectrometer-2 (TANSO-FTS-2) onboard the Japanese Greenhouse Gases Observing SATellite-2 (GOSAT-2) observes a wide spectral region of the atmosphere, from the ShortWave-InfraRed (SWIR) to the longwave Thermal InfraRed radiation (TIR) with 0.2 cm−1 spectral sampling, and the corresponding spectral resolution (full width at half maximum, FWHM) of TIR region is less than 0.27 cm−1. TANSO-FTS-2 has operated nominally since February 2019, and the atmospheric radiance spectra it has acquired have been released to the public. This paper describes an updated model for spectral radiance calibration and its validation. The model applies to the version v210210 TIR products of TANSO-FTS-2 and integrates polarization sensitivity correction for the internal optics and the pointing mirror thermal emission. These correction parameters are characterized by an optimization that depends on the difference between the spectral radiance of TANSO-FTS-2 and coincident nadir observation data from the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) on METOP-B. To validate the updated spectral radiance product against other satellite products, temporally and spatially coincident observation points were considered for the simultaneous nadir overpass (SNO) from February 2019 to March 2021 from the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) on Aqua, IASI on METOP-B, and TANSO-FTS on GOSAT. The agreement of brightness temperatures between TANSO-FTS-2 and AIRS and IASI was better than 0.3 K (1σ) from 180 to 330 K for the 680 cm−1 CO2 spectral range. The brightness temperatures between TANSO-FTS-2 and TANSO-FTS of version v230231, which implemented a new polarization reflectivity of the pointing mirror and was released in June 2021, generally agree from 220 to 320 K. However, there is a discrepancy at lower brightness temperatures, pronounced for CO2 spectral ranges at high latitudes. To characterize the spectral radiance bias for along-track and cross-track angles, a 2-orthogonal simultaneous off-nadir overpass (2O-SONO) is now done for TANSO-FTS-2 and IASI, TANSO-FTS-2 and AIRS, and TANSO-FTS-2 and TANSO-FTS. The 2O-SONO comparison results indicate that the TIR product for TANSO-FTS-2 has a bias that exceeds 0.5 K in the CO2 spectral range for scenes with forward and backward viewing angles greater than 20∘. These multi-satellite sensor and multi-angle comparison results suggest that the calibration of spectral radiance for TANSO-FTS-2 TIR, version v210210, is superior to that of the previous version in its consistency of multi-satellite sensor data. In addition, the paper identifies the remaining challenging issues in current TIR products.

Although surgery is a basic therapy for cancer, it causes inflammation and immunosuppression, often resulting in recurrence and metastasis. Previous studies have suggested that anesthetic management influences the prognosis of cancer surgery patients. Administration of local anesthetics, such as lidocaine, for pain control reportedly improves their clinical outcomes; however, the precise underlying mechanism has not been fully elucidated. The growth of human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293T and cervical cancer HeLa cells was inhibited by lidocaine treatment and these cell lines showed different sensitivities for lidocaine. Ki-67 is a significant prognostic marker of cancer because it is expressed in the nucleus of actively proliferating cells. In lidocaine-treated HeLa cells, Ki-67 was detected not only in the nucleus but also in the cytoplasm. In addition, lidocaine-induced cytoplasmic Ki-67 partly colocalized with the increased ER chaperone, glucose-regulated protein 78, which is crucial for protein folding and maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Furthermore, lidocaine decreased Ki-67 levels and increased the population of HeLa cells in the G0/G1 phase. These results indicate that lidocaine plays a significant role in growth suppression by regulating the expression and distribution of Ki-67.

The number of total pancreatectomy cases have increased worldwide, expanding the need for new insulin products and high-titer pancrelipases. However, the current data that is focused on hypoglycemic events after a total pancreatectomy from large nationwide series are still lacking. This study is aimed to assess the risk factors associated with hypoglycemic events after a total pancreatectomy.Data were prospectively collected from 216 consecutive patients who underwent total pancreatectomies between August 2015 and December 2017 from 68 Japanese centers. Of the 216 patients, 166 with a follow-up period of 1 year were analyzed. The risk factors for hypoglycemic events at 6 and 12 months (postoperative months 6 and 12) were investigated based on the results of a nationwide multicenter prospective study.Of the 166 patients, 57 (34%) and 70 (42%) experienced moderate or severe hypoglycemic events or hypoglycemia unawareness on a monthly basis at postoperative months 6 and 12, respectively. Multivariate analysis revealed that body weight loss after surgery ≥0.3 kg and total cholesterol level ≤136 mg/dL at postoperative month 6, and glycated hemoglobin level ≤8.9% and rapid-acting insulin use at postoperative month 12 were independent risk factors for hypoglycemic events after a total pancreatectomy. There were different independent risk factors depending on the postoperative period.Patients with body weight loss after surgery, low total cholesterol level, strict glycemic control, and using rapid-acting insulin should be aware of the occurrence of hypoglycemic events after their total pancreatectomy. In order to prevent hypoglycemic events after a total pancreatectomy, we need to consider optimal nutritional and glycemic control according to the postoperative period.

Background/Aim: Pulmonary arterial intimal sarcoma (PAIS) is a rare malignant soft tissue tumor that is difficult to differentiate from pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE). Therefore, pre-operative diagnosis is often difficult. However, recent advances in fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) have enabled the use of standardized uptake values (SUVs) for the differential diagnosis of PAIS from PTE, and the frequency of diagnosis of PAIS has increased. Here, we report a case of PAIS that was difficult to differentiate from PTE despite using FDG-PET. Case Report: A 40-year-old woman presented with gradually worsening exertional dyspnea. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed lesions with poor enhancement in the right lateral basal pulmonary artery. FDG-PET/CT did not reveal any tumor or thrombosis in other areas. Cytological evaluation using a right ventricular catheter did not lead to a definitive diagnosis. Because the patient did not respond to anticoagulation, we performed pulmonary artery endarterectomy. Pathological examination of the pulmonary artery tumor revealed a mucinous tumor with an edematous stroma and spindle-shaped tumor-cell proliferation, which confirmed the diagnosis of PAIS. However, FDG/PET demonstrated a low SUV of 3.4. Conclusion: Some PAISs with low cellular densities and high mucous tissue proportions have SUVs similar to those in PTE. In patients with low FDG uptake, if PAIS is suspected based on other objective findings, additional exploration using highly invasive tests or surgical procedures specific to PAIS is warranted.

Multi-level magnetic recording is a new concept for increasing the data storage capacity of hard disk drives. However, its implementation has been limited by a lack of suitable media capable of storing information at multiple levels. Herein, we overcome this problem by developing dual FePt-C nanogranular films separated by a Ru-C breaking layer with a cubic crystal structure. The FePt grains in the bottom and top layers of the developed media exhibited different effective magnetocrystalline anisotropies and Curie temperatures. The former is realized by different degrees of ordering in the L10-FePt grains, whereas the latter was attributed to the diffusion of Ru, thereby enabling separate magnetic recordings at each layer under different magnetic fields and temperatures. Furthermore, the magnetic measurements and heat-assisted magnetic recording simulations showed that these media enabled 3-level recording and could potentially be extended to 4-level recording, as the up-down and down-up states exhibited non-zero magnetization.

Nearly a hundred of binary black holes (BBHs) have been discovered with gravitational-wave signals emitted at their merging events. Thus, it is quite natural to expect that significantly more abundant BBHs with wider separations remain undetected in the universe, or even in our Galaxy. We consider a possibility that star-BH binary candidates may indeed host an inner BBH, instead of a single BH. We present a detailed feasibility study of constraining the binarity of the currently available two targets, Gaia BH1 and Gaia BH2. Specifically, we examine three types of radial velocity (RV) modulations of a tertiary star in star-BBH triple systems; short-term RV modulations induced by the inner BBH, long-term RV modulations induced by the nodal precession, and long-term RV modulations induced by the von Zeipel-Kozai-Lidov oscillations. Direct three-body simulations combined with approximate analytic models reveal that Gaia BH1 system may exhibit observable signatures of the hidden inner BBH if it exists at all. Objective: To analyze the transitions experienced by mothers and children/adolescents with sickle cell disease after the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A qualitative study involving 19 mothers of children and adolescents with sickle cell disease. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews via WhatsApp, followed by Thematic Analysis and Descending Hierarchical Classification with the help of Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Texteset de Questionnaires and interpreted in the light of Afaf Meleis' Transition Theory. Results: Support from family members for displacement; mothers' adherence to the routine of daily stimuli and physical exercises favored healthy transitions; lack of remote health care; low socioeconomic resources; interruption of the physiotherapy service; and maternal overload favor unhealthy transitions. Final considerations: Efforts/movements by mothers ensure the healthy transition of children/adolescents with sickle disease during the pandemic, while supporting their unhealthy transition. Resultados: Apoyo de familiares por desplazamiento; la adherencia de las madres a la rutina de estímulos diarios y ejercicios físicos favoreció las transiciones saludables; falta de atención médica remota; bajos recursos socioeconómicos; interrupción del servicio de fisioterapia; y la sobrecarga materna favorecen las transiciones poco saludables. Consideraciones finales: Los esfuerzos/movimientos de las madres aseguran la transición saludable de los niños/adolescentes con enfermidades de células falciformes durante la pandemia, al mismo tiempo que apoyan su transición no saludable. Resultados: Apoio dos familiares para deslocamento; adesão das mães à rotina de estímulos diários e exercícios físicos favoreceram as transições saudáveis; inexistência de atendimento de saúde remoto; baixos recursos socioeconômicos; interrupção do serviço de fisioterapia; e sobrecarga materna favorecem as transições insalubres. Considerações finais: Esforços/movimentos das mães asseguraram a transição saudável de crianças/adolescentes com doença falciforme durante a pandemia, ao mesmo tempo que corroborou para a transição insalubre das mesmas.

We have discovered a new phenomenon that inductance oscillates as a function of the angle between an in-plane magnetic field and an electric current direction in permalloy films, which we have named “the anisotropic magneto-inductance (AML) effect.” We have investigated the dependences of the AML effect on the size and voltage. The length, frequency, and amplitude dependences suggest that the AML effect should be evaluated in terms of “inductivity.” Inductors based on this AML effect have the potential to be variable, on-chip, and one billion times smaller than the small commercial inductor.

Resumo Introdução: As famílias de crianças com Síndrome Congênita do Zika (SCZ) convivem com dificuldades para suprir suas necessidades de saúde, portanto acionam o poder judiciário para gozar do seu direito à saúde. Objetivo: Apreender as principais motivações das impetrações judiciais requeridas por mães de crianças com SCZ e seus desfechos. Metodologia: Estudo exploratório documental com abordagem qualitativa, realizado no sítio eletrônico JusBrasil e coleta procedida em março de 2020. Foram incluídas 15 impetrações judiciais publicadas entre janeiro de 2016 e junho de 2019. A análise lexical através do software IRaMuTeQ e a análise de conteúdo temática foram realizadas. Resultados: O acesso às tecnologias assistivas é a principal motivação para impetrações judiciais, com vistas a assegurar melhora no desenvolvimento da criança e consequente independência da criança. As decisões judiciais beneficiaram as crianças com SCZ, fundamentadas no direito à saúde, direito à vida e proteção, e o direito de ir e vir. Conclusão: Para mitigar os impactos da judicialização da saúde as autoridades sanitárias e judiciárias podem investir em melhor vigilância e monitoramento dos fatores de risco e morbidades; rigor nos protocolos sanitários que envolvem migração de pessoas em zonas fronteiriças; ofertas de condições ambientais e de moradia dignas; realização de cuidados preventivos com destaque para a eficiência da imunização; além da organização e funcionamento de uma rede de atenção à saúde eficaz com abordagem interdisciplinar. Objetivo: Conocer las principales motivaciones de las demandas presentadas por madres de niños y niñas con SZC y sus desenlaces. Metodología: Estudio documental exploratorio con enfoque cualitativo, realizado en el sitio web de JusBrasil y recogido en marzo de 2020. Se incluyeron 15 juicios publicados entre enero de 2016 y junio de 2019 en JusBrasil. Se realizó el análisis léxico a través del software IRaMuTeQ y el análisis de contenido temático. Resultados: El acceso a las tecnologías asistenciales es la principal motivación de las demandas, con el fin de asegurar la mejora en el desarrollo de la persona menor y su consecuente independencia. Las decisiones judiciales beneficiaron a niñas y niños con SZC, basadas en los derechos a la salud, a la vida y protección y a ir y venir. Conclusiones: Para mitigar los impactos de la judicialización en salud, las autoridades sanitarias y judiciales pueden invertir en una mejor vigilancia y seguimiento de los factores de riesgo y morbilidades, rigor en los protocolos sanitarios que implican la migración de personas en zonas fronterizas, ofrecer condiciones ambientales y habitacionales dignas, realizar cuidados preventivos, con énfasis en la eficiencia de la inmunización, además de la organización y operación de una red de atención de salud efectiva con enfoque interdisciplinario. Abstract Introduction: Families of children with Congenital Zika Syndrome (CSZ) live with difficulties to meet their health needs; therefore, they resort to the law system in order claim their right to health. Objective: To apprehend the main motivations and outcomes of the lawsuits filed by mothers of children with CSZ. Methodology: Exploratory documentary study with a qualitative approach carried out on the JusBrasil website and collected in March 2020. The study included 15 lawsuits published between January 2016 and June 2019 in JusBrasil. A lexical analysis through the IRaMuTeQ software and a thematic content analysis were performed. Results: The access to assistive technologies is the main motivation for the lawsuits; these are issued with the objective to ensure improvement in the child's development and further independence of the child. Court decisions benefited children with CSZ based on the right to health, the right to life and protection, and the right to come and go. Conclusion: To mitigate the impacts of health judicialization, health and judicial authorities can invest in better surveillance and monitoring of the risk factors and morbidities, strictness in the health protocols that involve migration of people in border areas, offering of decent environmental and housing conditions, execution of preventive care with emphasis on the efficiency of immunization, as well as the organization and execution of an effective health care network with an interdisciplinary approach.
