In this thesis, we study the Reeb and Hamiltonian dynamics on singular symplectic and contact manifolds. Those structures are motivated by singularities coming from classical mechanics and fluid dynamics. We start by studying generalized contact structures where the non-integrability condition fails on a hypersurface, the critical hypersurface. Those structures, called $b$-contact structures, arise from hypersurfaces in $b$-symplectic manifolds that have been previously studied extensively in the past. Formerly, this odd-dimensional counterpart to $b$-symplectic geometry has been neglected in the existing vast literature. Examples are given and local normal forms are proved. The local geometry of those manifolds is examined using the language of Jacobi manifolds, which provides an adequate set-up and leads to understanding the geometric structure on the critical hypersurface. We further consider other types of singularities in contact geometry, as for instance higher order singularities, called $b^m$-contact forms, or singularities of folded type. Obstructions to the existence of those structures are studied and the topology of $b^m$-contact manifolds is related to the existence of convex contact hypersurfaces and further relations to smooth contact structures are described using the desingularization technique. We continue examining the dynamical properties of the Reeb vector field associated to a given $b^m$-contact form. The relation of those structures to celestial mechanics underlines the relevance for existence results of periodic orbits of the Hamiltonian vector field in the $b^m$-symplectic setting and Reeb vector fields for $b^m$-contact manifolds. In this light, we prove that in dimension $3$, there are always infinitely many periodic Reeb orbits on the critical surface, but describe examples without periodic orbits away from it in any dimension. We prove that there are traps for this vector field and discuss possible extensions to prove the existence of plugs. We will see that in the case of overtwisted disks away from the critical hypersurface and some additional conditions, Weinstein conjecture holds: more precisely there exists either a periodic Reeb orbit away from the critical hypersurface or a $1$-parametric family in the neighbourhood of it. The mentioned results shed new light towards a singular version for this conjecture. The obtained results are applied to the particular case of the restricted planar circular three body problem, where we prove that after the McGehee change, there are infinitely many non-trivial periodic orbits at the manifold at infinity for positive energy values. En esta tesis, estudiamos la dinámica de Reeb y Hamiltoniana en variedades simplécticas y de contacto con singularidades. El estudio de estas variedades está motivado por singularidades que tienen su origen en la mecánica clásica y la dinámica de fluidos. Empezamos estudiando una generalización de las estructuras de contacto, en la cual la condición de no integrabilidad falla en una hipersuperficie, llamada la hipersuperficie crítica. Estas estructuras geométricas, llamadas estructuras de $b$-contacto, surgen de hipersuperficies en variedades $b$-simplécticas, estudiadas en el pasado. Hasta el momento, este equivalente de dimensión impar de la geometría $b$-simpléctica ha sido desatendido en la literatura existente. Después de los primeros ejemplos, probamos la existencia de formas locales. Estudiamos la geometría local de estas variedades usando el lenguaje de variedades de Jacobi, que resultan ser técnicas adecuadas para entender la estructura geométrica en la hipersuperficie crítica. Consideramos también singularidades de orden superior, formas de $b^m$-contacto, y singularidades de tipo folded. Continuamos con el estudio de las obstrucciones a la existencia de estas estructuras y relacionamos la topología de variedades de $b^m$-contacto con la existencia de hipersuperficies convexas. Describimos relaciones entre formas de $b^m$-contacto y formas de contacto diferenciables usando técnicas de desingularización. Examinamos las propiedades del campo de Reeb asociado a una forma de $b^m$-contacto dada. La relación de estas estructuras con la mecánica celeste pone en relieve la importancia del estudio de órbitas periódicas de este campo vectorial. Comprobamos que, en dimensión $3$, el campo de Reeb en la hipersuperficie crítica admite infinitas órbitas periódicas. Sin embargo, describimos ejemplos sin órbitas periódicas fuera de la hipersuperficie crítica en cualquier dimensión. Comprobamos la existencia de traps y discutimos la posible existencia de plugs. En el caso de un disco \emph{overtwisted} fuera de la hipersuperficie se satisface la conjetura de Weinstein: en concreto, o bien existe una órbita periódica de Reeb fuera de la hipersuperficie de contacto o bien existe una familia de órbitas periódicas en un entorno de la hipersuperficie. Estos resultados sugieren una versión singular de dicha conjetura. Aplicamos los resultados obtenidos al caso del problema de los tres cuerpos restringido circular: comprobamos que después del cambio de coordenadas de McGehee, existen infinitas órbitas periódicas en la variedad en el infinito para valores positivos de la energía.

Aquesta tesi s’emmarca en les àrees de la combinatòria, la teoria de categories i la topologia algebràica. Concretament, s’estudia la combinatòria del pletisme desde la perspectiva de les biàlgebres d’incidència i la combinatòria objectiva. L’àlgebra objectiva es realitza al nivell de grupoides de Segal, mitjançant l’ús de tècniques homotòpiques i mètodes simplicials. La primera contribució consisteix en exhibir la substitució pletística com a un producte de convolució dual a la cardinalitat homotòpica de la biàlgebra de incidència d’un grupoide simplicial, TS, de la mateixa manera que la susbtitució pletística s’obté a partir del nervi gros NS de la categoria S de conjunts finits i aplicacions exhaustives. El gupoide simplicial TS s’obté de la categoría S a partir de la construcción T, una nova construcció categòrica reminiscent de les construccions Q de Quillen i W de Waldhausen. El grupoide simplicial NS es equivalent a la construcció bar de la òperada simètrica Sym. S’observa que també TS es equivalent a la construcció bar d’una certa òperada, i que la manera que aquesta òperada s’obté a partir de Sym es pot generalitzar a qualsevol òperada (suficientement bona). Això condueix a la segona contribució: una construcció que estableix un pont entre la substitució ordinària y les substitucions pletístiques. Aquesta construcció permet tractar simultàniament diverses nocions de pletisme, així com produir-ne de noves. Per a totes aquestes nocions es presenta un model combinatori en forma de grupoide de Segal monoidal. The present thesis lies on the intersection between combinatorics, category theory and algebraic topology. We study the combinatorics of plethysm from the perspective of incidence bialgebras and objective combinatorics. The objective algebra is carried out at the level of Segal groupoids, by using homotopy slices and homotopy pullbacks of groupoids and simplicial methods. The first main contribution is to exhibit plethystic substitution as a convolution tensor product obtained from an explicit simplicial groupoid, TS, by the standard general constructions of incidence coalgebras and homotopy cardinality, in analogy with how ordinary substitution is obtained from the fat nerve NS of the category of finite sets and surjections S. The simplicial groupoid TS arises from S as its T-construction, a new categorical construction which is reminiscent of Quillen’s Q and Waldhausen’s S-constructions. The simplicial groupoid NS is equivalent to the two-sided bar construction of the operad Sym. We observe that TS too is equivalent to the two-sided bar construction of a certain operad, and that the way to obtain this operad from Sym can be generalized to any (nice enough) operad. This leads to the second main contribution: a functorial construction on generalized operads which formalizes the passage from ordinary substitutions to plethystic substitutions. This construction allows for treating simultaneously a variety of notions of plethysm, and in fact leads to new notions of plethysm. This thesis explores classification and perturbation problems for group actions on a class of Poisson manifolds called $b^m$-Poisson manifolds. $b^m$-Poisson manifolds are manifolds which are symplectic away from a hypersurface along which they satisfy some transversality properties. They often model problems on symplectic manifolds with boundary such as the study of their deformation quantization and celestial mechanics. One of the interesting properties of $b^m$-Poisson manifolds is that their study can be achieved considering the language of $b^m$-forms. That is to say, we can work with forms which are symplectic away from the critical set and admit a smooth extension as a \emph{form over a Lie algebroid} generalizing De Rham forms as form over the standard Lie algebroid of the tangent bundle of the manifold. To consider $b^m$-forms the standard tangent bundle is replaced by the $b^m$-tangent bundle. This thesis starts with the equivariant classification of $b^m$-Poisson structures investigating, in particular, the analogue of Moser's classification theorem for symplectic surfaces and their equivariant analogues. The classification invariants in the case of surfaces are encoded in a cohomology called $b^m$-cohomology which has been deeply studied by \cite{Scott16}. Mazzeo-Melrose type formula for $b^m$-cohomology decomposes it in two pieces which can be read off the De Rham cohomology of both the ambient manifold $M$ and the critical hypersurface. As an outcome of this identification, the Poisson classification of these manifolds is given by the De Rham cohomology of the manifold and the hypersurface. This classification is extended to the equivariant setting if we assume that the singular forms are preserved by the group action of a compact Lie group. These techniques can be extended to the classification of $b^m$-Nambu structures which are also considered in this thesis. Group actions re-appear in the last chapters as integrable systems on these manifolds turn out to have associated Hamiltonian actions of tori in a neighbourhood of a Liouville torus. We use this Hamiltonian group action to prove existence of action-angle coordinates in a neighborhood of a Liouville torus. The action-angle coordinate theorem that we prove gives a semilocal normal form in the neighbourhood of a Liouville torus for the $b^m$-symplectic structure which depends on the modular weight of the connected component of the critical set in which the Liouville torus is lying and the modular weights of the associated toric action. This action-angle theorem allows us to identify a neighborhood of the Liouville torus with the $b^m$-cotangent lift of the action of a torus acting by translations on itself. We end up this thesis proving a KAM theorem for $b^m$-Poisson manifolds which clearly refines and improves the one obtained for $b$-Poisson manifolds in \cite{KMS16}. As an outcome of this result together with the extension of the desingularization techniques of Guillemin-Miranda-Weitsman to the realm of integrable systems, we obtain a KAM theorem for folded symplectic manifolds where KAM theory has never been considered before. In the way, we also obtain a brand new KAM theorem for symplectic manifolds where the perturbation keeps track of a distinguished hypersurface. In celestial mechanics this distinguished hypersurface can be the line at infinity or the collision set. Esta tesis doctoral explora problemas de clasificación y perturbación para acciones de grupo en una clase particular de variedades de Poisson llamadas variedades de $b^m$-Poisson. Las variedades de $b^m$-Poisson son variedades que son simplécticas fuera de una hipersuperficie en la cual satisfacen ciertas propiedades de transversalidad. A menudo modelan problemas en variedades simplécticas con borde tales como el estudio de la \textcolor{black}{cuantización por deformación} o problemas de mecánica celeste. Una de las propiedades interesantes de las variedades $b^m$-Poisson es que se pueden estudiar usando el lenguage de $b^m$-formas. La clasificación de invariantes en el caso de superfícies estan codificados en una cohomologia llamada $b^m$-cohomologia que ha sido estudiada en profundiad por \cite{Scott16}. Una fórmula del tipo de Mazzeo-Melrose para la $b^m$-cohomologia descompone en dos partes que pueden interpretarse como las cohomologias de De Rham tanto de la variedad ambiente $M$ como de la hypersuperficie crítica. Como consecuencia de esta identificación, la clasificación de Poisson de estas variedades viene dada por la cohomologia de De Rham de la variedad y de la hipersuperficie. Esta clasificación se extiende al contexto equivariante si asumimos que las formas singulares son preservadas por la acción de un grupo de Lie compacto. Estas técnicas pueden ser extendidas a la clasificación de structuras de $b^m$-Nambu que se consideran también en esta tesis. Las acciones de grupo reaparecen en los últimos capitulos ya que los sistemas integrables en estas variedades resulta que tienen asociadas acciones Hamiltonianas de toros en un entorno de un toro de Liouville. Usamos estas acciones Hamiltonianas de grupos para demostrar la existencia de coordenadas accion-ángulo en un entorno de un toro de Liouville. El teorema de acción-ángulo que demostramos da un teorema de formas normales semilocales en un entorno del toro de Liouville para la forma $b^m$-simpléctica que depende tanto del peso modular de la componente conexa de la hipersuperfície donde se encuentra el toro de Liouville como los pesos asociados a la acción tórica. Este teorema de accion-ángulo nos permite identificar un entorno del toro de Liouville como el $b^m$-cotangent lift de la acción de un toro actuano por translaciones sobre sí mismo. Acabamos la tesis demostrando un teorema KAM para variedades de $b^m$-Poisson que claramente refina y mejora el teorema obtenido para variedades de $b$-Poisson en \cite{KMS16}. Como consecuencia de este resultado junto con la extension de las técnicas de desingularización de Guillemin-Miranda-Weitsman en el ambiente de los sistemas integrables, obtenemos un teorema KAM para variedad folded-simplécticas donde la teoria KAM nunca ha sido considerada con anterioridad. En el camino, también obtenemos un nuevo teorema KAM para variedades simplécticas dónde la perturbación permite seguir con detalle una hipersuperície concreta. En mecánica celeste esta hipersuperfície puede ser interpretada cómo la línea al infinito o el conjunto de colisión.

En esta tesis abordamos tres aspectos importantes de los espacios de funciones difusas que son continuas respecto a la métrica supremo cuando están dotados de las topologías más habituales en este contexto. Estudiamos su completitud, metrizabilidad y compacidad. Este último concepto está claramente relacionado con el teorema de Ascoli cuyo resultado generalizamos a un marco más amplio. Por otra parte, estudiamos los problemas de aproximación en los espacios de funciones difusas continuas, no solo utilizando redes neuronales, sino probando resultados más generales, tipo Stone-Weierstrass. Cabe destacar que estos resultados se prueban para funciones difusas que son continuas tanto respecto a la métrica supremo como respecto a la topología de la convergencia de nivel. In this thesis we deal with three important aspects of the spaces of diffuse functions that are continuous with respect to the supreme metric when they are endowed with the most common topologies in this context. We study its completeness, metrizability and compactness. This last concept is clearly related to the Ascoli theorem whose result we generalize to a wider framework. On the other hand, we studied the problems of approximation in the spaces of continuous diffuse functions, not only using neural networks, but testing more general results, such as Stone-Weierstrass. It should be noted that these results are tested for fuzzy functions that are continuous both with respect to the supreme metric and with respect to the topology of the level convergence. En esta tesis se presentan los resultados obtenidos sobre las propiedades maximales en la clase de espacios topológicos (y en la clase de espacios de Tychonoff) de las propiedades topológicas que se encuentran entre las clases de compacidad numerable y compacidad tenue, tales como la propiedad Densamente Numerablemente Compacta (DNC) y la propiedad Selectivamente Tenuemente Compacta. Además, se muestran resultados sobre los espacios Secuencialmente Tenuemente Compactos que son más generales que los espacios secuencialmente compactos y cuyas propiedades topológicas resultan de importancia en la clase de los espacios tenuemente compactos. Este trabajo se encuentra dividido en tres capítulos, al final de cada uno se presentan algunos resultados obtenidos sobre nuestras propiedades topológicas de interés en la clase de grupos topológicos y paratopológicos. This thesis presents results obtained on the maximal properties in the class of topological spaces (and in the class of spaces of Tychonoff) of the topological properties which are between the classes of the countably compact spaces and feebly compact spaces, such as densely countably compact and selectively feebly compact properties. In addition, some results are shown about sequentially compact spaces, which are more general than sequentially compact spaces and whose topological properties are important in the class of feebly compact spaces. This thesis is integrated by three chapters, at the end of each chapters we present some facts obtained about our topological properties of interest in the class of topological and paratopological groups. L'objectiu principal d'aquesta tesis és l'estudi de la conjectura de Perron. Aquesta conjectura afirma que certa funcio sobre el grup de Torelli mod p amb valors en Z/p és un invariant d'esferes d'homologia modul p. Per tal d'abordar l'estudi d'aquesta conjectura, en aquesta tesis primer estudiem les esferes d'homologia modul p, les esferes d'homologia racional, i donem un criteri per determinar quan una esfera d'homologia racional té un split de Heegaard amb aplicació d'enganxament un element del grup de Torelli mod p, el cual ve donat pel nucli de la representació Symplectica modul p del mapping class group. A continuació estenem els resultats de l'article ''Trivial cocycles and invariants of homology 3-spheres'' obtenint una construcció d'invariants amb valors a un grup abelià sense restriccions, a partir d'una família adecuada de 2-cocycles sobre el grup de Torelli. En particular, expliquem la influencia de l'invariant de Rohlin en la perdua de la unicitat en tal construcció. Posteriorment, utilitzant les mateixes eines, obtenim una construcció d'invariants esferes d'homologia racional que tenen un split de Heegaard amb aplicació d'enganxament un element del grup de Torelli mod p, a partir d'una família adecuada de 2-cocycles sobre el grup de Torelli modul p. A més, al llarg d'aquesta construcció obtenim un invariant d'esfers d'homologia modul p el qual no apareix en la literatura. Finalment, demostrem que la conjectura de Perrron és falsa donant una obstrucció que be donada pel fet que la primera classe caracteristica dels fibrats de superfícies reduida modul p no és nula. The main objective of this thesis is the study Perron's conjecture. This conjecture affirms that some function on the group of Torelli mod p, with values in Z/p, is an invariant of mod p homology spheres. In order to study this conjecture, in this thesis we first study the mod p homology spheres, the rational homology spheres and we give a criterion to determine whenever a rational homology sphere has a Heegaard splitting with gluing map an element of the Torelli group mod p, which is the group given by the kernel of the Symplectic representation modulo p of the mapping class group. Next, we extend the results of the article ''Trivial cocycles and invariants of homology 3-spheres'' obtaining a construction of invariants with values to an abelian group without restrictions, from a suitable family of 2-cocycles on the Torelli group. In particular, we explain the influence of the invariant of Rohlin in the lost of uniqueness in such construction. Later, using the same tools, we obtain a construction of invariants of rational homology spheres that have a Heegaard splitting with gluing map an element of the mod p Torelli group, from a suitable family of 2-coccycles on the mod p Torelli group. In addition, throughout this construction we obtain an invariant of mod p homology spheres which does not appear in the literature. Finally, we prove that Perrron's conjecture is false providing an obstruction that is given by the fact that the first characteristic class of surface bundles reduced modulo p does not vanish.

This thesis studies the relation between the existence of a particular sort of subsets of metric valued continuous functions on a topological space X and the properties of the topological space itself. The dissertation relies on how the existence of subsets of continuous functions that possess one of these two antagonist properties, almost equicontinuity and being a B-family, affects the topological space. The former property appears in the setting of dynamical systems, and the latter is a property stronger that the concept of non-equicontinuity and it is motivated by a result of Bourgain. The thesis deals with the study of the existence and the properties of interpolation sets in different settings: (i) spaces of continuous functions, (ii) topological groups and (iii) the dual of a topological group., En esta tesis se estudia la relación que hay entre la existencia de ciertos tipos de subconjuntos de funciones valuadas en un espacio métrico y definidas en un espacio topológico X y las propiedades que posee el espacio topológico X en si. La disertación se apoya en cómo la existencia de subconjuntos de funciones continuas que poseen una de estas dos propiedades antagonistas, casi equicontinuidad y ser una B-familia, afecta al espacio topológico. La primera propiedad aparece en el contexto de los sistemas dinámicos, mientras que la segunda propiedad es un concepto más fuerte que la no equicontinuidad y viene motivada por un resultado de Bourgain. A lo largo de la tesis se lidia con el estudio de la existencia y propiedades de los conjuntos de interpolación en diferentes contextos: (i) espacios de funciones continuas, (ii) grupos topológicos y (iii) el dual de un grupo topológico.

El marco teórico donde se desarrolla la genésis de estos métodos son los grupos y álgebras de Lie. Estas estructuras algebraicas, ampliamente estudiadas, dan el entorno propicio para la construcción de nuevos algoritmos simplécticos. A lo largo de este trabajo, se presentan diversos métodos integración geométrica, algunos ya clásicos, como los basados en la expansión de Magnus, y otros nuevos como el método de Splitting de paso fijo y h-adaptativo, o el método de Voslamber. También se construye un nuevo procedimiento recursivo eficiente, para obtener en forma sistemática y de cantidad arbitraria, los términos necesarios para la fórmula de Zassenhaus, así como la variante continua de este, conocida como fórmula de Wilcox. Para cada método presentado se analizan sus principales características, mostrando sus resultados a situaciones de interés, ya sea en la ciencia aplicada o bien como instancias que los pongan a prueba o permitan hacer comparaciones, en especial sobre su precisión y uso de recursos como tiempo de CPU y memoria de computación requeridos, en versiones implementadas en software como, Mathematica o Matlab.

[spa] Esta tesis doctoral es el resultado de nuestra investigación sobre la teoría de la dualidad y completaciones de conjuntos parcialmente ordenados. Un primer objetivo general de este trabajo es proponer diferentes tipos de dualidades topológicas para algunas clases de conjuntos parcialmente ordenados y un segundo objetivo es tratar de utilizar estas dualidades para obtener diferentes completaciones con buenas propiedades. Para este fin, nos proponemos seguir la línea de las dualidades clásicas para retículos distributivos acotados debidas a Stone y a Priestley. Por lo tanto, necesitaremos considerar una noción de distributividad sobre conjuntos parcialmente ordenados. También proponemos una dualidad topológica para la clase de todos los conjuntos parcialmente ordenados y usamos esta dualidad para estudiar algunas propiedades de los conjuntos parcialmente ordenados como su extensión canónica, funciones que preservan orden y las extensiones de funciones n-arias que preservan orden en cada coordenada. Por otra parte, para alcanzar estos objetivos vamos a estudiar los conjuntos parcialmente ordenados desde un punto de vista algebraico., [eng] This PhD thesis is the result of our research on duality theory and completions for partially ordered sets. A first main aim of this dissertation is to propose different kind of topological dualities for some classes of partially ordered sets and a second aim is to try to use these dualities to obtain completions with nice properties. To this end, we intend to follow the line of the classical dualities for bounded distributive lattices due to Stone and Priestley. Thus, we will need to consider a notion of distributivity on partially ordered sets. Also we propose a topological duality for the class of all partially ordered sets and we use this duality to study some properties of partially ordered sets like its canonical extension, order-preserving maps and the extensions of n-ary maps that are order-preserving in each coordinate. Moreover, to attain these aims we will study the partially ordered sets from an algebraic point of view.

Розглянуто застосування методів структурного аналізу систем для дослідження функціонування системи безпеки гідротехнічних споруд (ГТС). За допомогою Q-аналізу представлено основні принципи побудови моделі зв’язаності системи забезпечення безпеки ГТС на прикладі двох множин: множини загроз та множини заходів щодо запобігання руйнування ГТС. Досліджено зв’язаність елементів цієї системи. Розраховано числові значення ексцентриситетів, p-дір та проаналізовано ступені складності комплексу елементів системи безпеки. Якщо взяти до уваги системний характер безпеки, то можна зробити висновок, що елементи двох множин системи безпеки ГТС – множини загроз та множини заходів щодо запобігання руйнування ГТС – взаємопов’язані та складають основу системи забезпечення їх безпеки. In this work applications of structural analysis methods for hydraulic structures (HS) system security were reviewed. The basic principles of security connectivity model creation were presented with help of the Q-analysis on the examples of two sets: the set of threats and the set of security actions. The connectedness of elements of this system was investigated, numerical values of eccentricities and p-holes were calculated, and the degree of complexity of security system elements was analyzed. If a system property of security is taken into account, it can be concluded that the set of threats and the set of security actions are connected and create the basis for the security system. Рассмотрено применение методов структурного анализа систем для исследования функционирования системы безопасности гидротехнических сооружений (ГТС). С помощью Q-анализа представлены основные принципы построения модели связанности системы обеспечения безопасности ГТС на примере двух множеств: множества угроз и множества мер по предупреждению разрушения ГТС. Исследована связанность элементов данной системы. Рассчитаны числовые значения эксцентриситетов, p-дыр и проанализированы степени сложности комплекса элементов системы безопасности. Принимая во внимание системный характер безопасности, сделан вывод, что элементы двух множеств системы безопасности ГТС – множества угроз и множества мер по предупреждению разрушения ГТС – взаимосвязаны и составляют основу системы обеспечения их безопасности.

海域をまたぐ中小規模の橋梁では, 橋脚に波が打上がり橋面へ飛沫が降り注ぐという間題が生じることがある.本研究は, 橋脚への波の打上げ特性を明らかにし, その軽減対策を検討したものである.円柱に対する波の打上げ実験から波の打上げが橋脚設置地点の通過波高にほぼ比例して増加することを明らかにした.橋脚前方に潜堤を設置して通過波高を減少させ』ることによってある程度打上げ高を低減できることを示した.また, 数値計算によって現地に設置する潜堤の効果を検討した., This paper examines the characteristics of wave runup on a circular pier of bridge constructed in a shallow water, and investigates the countermeasure for the reduction of wave runup by utilizing a submerged breakwater.The experimental results showed that the wave runup of regular and random waves increase in proportion to the incident wave height at the pier. Therefore, the wave runup height can be reduced by damping incident waves.From this point of view, the effect of submerged breakwater on reduction of wave heights and wave runups are investigated by hydraulic experiments and numerical simulations.

El objetivo de esta tesis es estudiar propiedades de las superficies de curvatura media constante (CMC) en espacios homogéneos 3-dimensionales con grupo de isometrías de dimensión 4. Para ello, se introduce y estudia un tipo más general de 3-variedades: las submersiones de Killing, que no son más que variedades que admiten una submersión riemanniana sobre una superficie de forma que las fibras de la submersión son curvas integrales de un campo de Killing unitario. Se obtienen resultados de clasificación global de submersiones de Killing sobre superficies modelo de curvatura constante, así como una descripción completa de su grupo de isometrías en términos de las isometrías de la superficie base. En una segunda parte, se estudian superficies de CMC positiva en productos riemannianos de una superficie por la rect real, y que se particularizan a variedades homogéneas producto. Concretamente, se dan estimaciones de la curvatura geodésica de la frontera de bigrafos de CMC en términos de la altura que dichos bigrafos desarrollan en el ambiente. Además, mediante construcciones de Plateau conjugadas, se dan nuevos ejemplos de bigrafos de CMC con altura acotada e invariantes por un grupo grande de isometrías del ambiente. Finalmente, en esta parte se estudian multigrafos completos de CMC en espacios homogéneos con grupo de isometrías de dimensión 4 en términos de las constantes de estructura del espacio y de la curvatura media, probando que bien no existen, bien son grafos y, en particular, embebidos. En una última parte, se estudia la estabilidad de superficies de CMC en espacios homogéneos con grupo de isometrías de dimensión 4 y se obtienen resultados cuando se supone de forma adicional que la estructura conforme subyacente a la superficie es de tipo parabólico. Concretamente, se prueba no existen superficies estables de CMC que sean parabólicas, completas y orientables en este tipo de espacios para cierto rango de la curvatura media, mientras que, para el resto de curvaturas medias, éstas han de ser grafos o bien cilindros verticales., Tesis Univ. Sea S la categoría de los conjuntos simpliciales , C una categoría pequeña y SC la categoría de los C-diagramas en S. Se estudian fibraciones en SC sobre un C-diagrama constante; estas fibraciones se pueden ver como un conjunto de fibraciones en S sobre el mismo espacio base cuyas aplicaciones entre los espacios totales estan determinadas por C (de tal forma que el diagrama de fibraciones resultante es conmutativo). Usando la estructura de categoría de modelos cofibrantemente generada sobre SC podemos generalizar algunos conceptos clásicos , como por ejemplo el de fibración minimal, producto cartesiano torcido o grupo estructural de un fibrado. Cuando C es una categoría con un número finito de objetos y en la que todo endomorfismo es isomorfismo, es decir una EI-categoría, se prueba el siguiente resultado de clasificación: TEOREMA: Sea F un C-diagrama sobre una EI-categoría con un número finito de objetos. Si B es un espacio conexo, el conjunto de clases de equivalencia fibra a fibra de fibraciones con base B y fibra F esta en correspondencia biyectiva con el conjunto de clases de homotopía de aplicaciones entre el espacio base B y el espacio clasificador del monoide homotópico de autoequivalencias homotópicas del diagrama F. Como sabemos dada una fibración en S siempre es posible obtener una localización fibra a fibra de esta, aunque el mismo resultado no es cierto en general para el caso de funtores de colocalización y más especificamente en el caso de celularizaciones. Aplicando este teorema es posible determinar la existencia y unicidad de celularizaciones fibra a fibra, lo cual se estudia en términos de teoría de obstrucción. Adicionalmente es posible concluir otros resultados clásicos, como por ejemplo el relacionado con localizaciones fibra a fibra.

Para tal, utilizamos a construção da matriz de Markov, introduzida por José Sousa Ramos, no início da década de 1980, no caso de uma partição do intervalo com um número infinito numerável de elementos, mas também, na prova do resultado mais importante, exploramos o formalismo da matriz Ө da dinâmica, formalismo introduzido também por José Sousa Ramos., In the present dissertation we study the zeta function for quadratic maps of the interval with aperiodic kneading invariant, using the Markov topological chain theory. We use the scheme, introduced by José Sousa Ramos, in the beginning of the 1980s, that allow us to get the Markov transition matrix of the dynamics in the case of a countable partition of the interval, but also, for the proof of our main theorem, of a matrix Ө formalism, also due to Sousa Ramos.

A boundedness structure (bornology) on a topological space is an ideal of subsets containing all singletons, that is, closed under taking subsets and unions of finitely many elements. In this paper we deal with the structure of the whole family of bounded subsets rather than the specific properties of them by means of certain functions that we define on a metrizable topological group. Our motivation is twofold: on the one hand, we obtain useful information about the structural features of certain remarkable classes of bounded systems, cofinality, local properties, etc. For example, we estimate the cofinality of these boundedness notions. In the second part of the paper, we apply duality methods in order to obtain estimations of the size of a local base for an important class of groups. This translation, which has been widely exhibited in the Pontryagin-van Kampen duality theory of locally compact abelian groups, is often very relevant and has been extended by many authors to more general classes of topological groups. In this work we follow basically the pattern and terminology given by Vilenkin in 1998.

The mechanism of vortex-induced oscillation of bluff section is closely related with the instability of separated shear around its body. The shear layer can be easily stimulated by self-movement of the body or external disturbance such as flow perturbation, applied sound with a specified frequency fluctuation and so on.In this study, the investigation of vortex-induced oscillation for 2-D rectangular section was performed by the way of shear layer instability stimulation by applying sound. Furthermore, geometrical shape effect on the response characteristics of the vortex-induced oscillation of edge girder bridge section was also investigated on the basis of applied sound technique.Additionally, the effect of turbulence on vortex-induced oscillation was fundamentally investigated by use of applied sound technique from the turbulent frequency effect point of view.

La presente tesis aborda problemas de optimización y obtención de desigualdades óptimas dentro de la Geometría Convexa. En concreto, se recogen las propiedades conocidas del anillo mínimo asociado a un cuerpo convexo plano y se estudian algunas propiedades nuevas que ayudan a conocer mejor la relación entre ambos. Se estudian con detalle las desigualdades geométricas existentes entre el anillo mínimo de un cuerpo convexo y las magnitudes geométricas clásicas, a saber, área, perímetro, circunradio, inradio, anchura mínima y diámetro, obteniendo en cada caso los conjuntos extremales. Se estudian con detalle propiedades que relacionan el anillo mínimo de un cuerpo convexo con su circunradio por un lado, y su inradio por otros. Se consideran fijos anillo mínimo y circunradio y se presentan las desigualdades óptimas que realcionan estas magnitudes con las restantes, describiendo los conjuntos extremales. Finalmente se realiza algo similar pero considerando fijos, esta vez, el anillo mínimo y el inradio., This thesis aims to deal with the optimization problems and how to obtain the optimal inequalities within the Convex Geometry. It aims to treat with the already known properties of the minimal annulus associated to a plane convex body; we are also to study some new properties that help us know the relationship between both of them. The geometrical inequalities existing between the minimal annulus of a convex body and the classical geometrical measures are studied in detail. These measures are the area, the perimeter, the circumradius, the inradius, the minimal width and the diameter, and we will obtain in each case the extremal sets. We will study in detail those properties relating the minimal annulus of a convex body with its circumradius first and its inradius later. We will consider as fixed the minimal annulus and the cicumradius, and the optimal inequalities that relate those measures with the remaining one will be represented by describing the extremal sets. Finally, we will do something similar but considering as fixed the minimal annulus and the inradius.

This work represents attempt to work out the basics for fast and non-destructive sheet metal inspection equipment, able to be integrated in automated operating procedure. The evaluation strategy and results of the wall thickness evaluation algorithm are presented. The algorithm allows to evaluate a local wall thickness distributed over the digitized surface. Представленная работа разработана в рамках создания научно-методических основ для создания автоматизированного и быстрого средства для многоточечного неразрушающего контроля толщины деталей из формированных листов металла. Описан ход обработки данных, разработанный алгоритм и приведены результаты его работы.

La principal aportación de este trabajo ha sido encontrar un funtor de localización que pasa de modo natural de modelos del espacio clasificador clásico de un grupo discreto G a modelos del espacio clasificador para G-fibrados propios. Más concretamente, hemos obtenido lo siguiente:Teorema. Si G es un grupo discreto cuya dimensión geométrica propia es finita y P es el funtor de anulación con respecto al wedge de todos los espacios clasificadores de grupos cíclicos de orden primo, se tiene que PBG posee el tipo de homotopía del espacio clasificador para G-fibrados propios B_G. La prueba tiene esencialmente dos ingredientes: un modelo particular para E_G como construcción de Grothendieck de un funtor sobre una categoría cuyo nervio es un modelo del espacio de órbitas B_G, y la solución de Miller a la conjetura de Sullivan.El teorema que acabamos de citar ha sido utilizado de tres maneras diferentes en la tesis: primero, lo hemos usado directamente para obtener información sobre la estructura homotópica de B_G; segundo, lo hemos aplicado para traducir propiedades homotópicas de BG y obtener modelos concretos de B_G vía funtores de localización; y tercero, modelos geométricos bien conocidos de B_G nos han permitido calcular la BZ/p-anulación de los espacios clasificadores de algunas familias de grupos discretos.Nuestro interés en localizaciones de BG para G finito fue originalmente como paso intermedio en la demostración del teorema que acabamos de citar. More concretely, we have obtained the following:Theorem. If G is a discrete group whose proper geometrical dimension is finite and P is the nullification with regard to the wedge of the classifying spaces of all primes, then PBG has the homotopy type of the classifying space for proper G-bundles B_G.The proof has essentially two ingredients: a particular model for E_G as the Grothendieck construction of a functor over a category whose nerve is a model for the orbit space B_G, and the Miller solution to the Sullivan conjecture.We have used the main theorem in three ways: first, we have used it directly to find information about the homotopy structure of B_G; second, we have applied it to translate homotopical properties of BG to obtain concrete models of B_G via localization functors; and last, well-known geometrical models of B_G have allowed us the computation of the BZ/p-nullification of the classifying spaces of some families of discrete groups.Our interest on localizations of BG for G finite was originally as an intermediate step in the proof of the theorem we have just quoted. However, these questions soon acquired independent interest, so we made a detailed study, including the cellularization, that is in some dual of the nullification. The main result in this context have been the following:Proposition. If p is a prime, G is a finite group and T is the minimal normal subgroup of G that contains all the p-torsion, the BZ/p-nullification PBG is characterized by a fibration Y PBG B(G/T), where Y stands for the product of q-completions of BT for all the primes different of p.The proof is carried out using homotopy techniques, just like arithmetic squares, homological decompositions or preservation of fibrations under localization functors. The main result about BZ/p-cellularization is a classification of BZ/p-cellular classifying spaces of finite groups:Proposition. If p is a prime and G is a finite group, the classifying space of G is BZ/p-cellular if and only if G is a p-group generated by order p elements.We study the BZ/p-cellularization of BG by comparing this construction with the Z/p-cellularization of groups studied in the last nineties by several authors, and our research on this topic can be considered as an extension of work already done on Moore spaces M(Z/p,1) to the infinite-dimensional case.

La tesi versa sobre sistemes dinàmics discrets 1-dimensionals, des d'un punt de vista combinatori i topològic. Estem interessats en les òrbites periòdiques i l'entropia topològica de les aplicacions contínues definides en arbres i grafs.El problema central és la caracterització del conjunt de períodes de totes les òrbites periòdiques d'una aplicació contínua d'un arbre en ell mateix. El teorema de Sharkovskii (1964) fou el primer resultat remarcable en aquest sentit. Aquest bonic teorema estableix que el conjunt de períodes d'una aplicació de l'interval és un segment inicial d'un ordre lineal (ordre de Sharkovskii). Recíprocament, donat qualsevol segment inicial d'aquest ordre, existeix una aplicació de l'interval que el té com a conjunt de períodes. Durant les darreres dècades hi ha hagut diversos intents de trobar resultats similars al de Sharkovskii per a altres espais 1-dimensionals. Recentment, el cas d'arbres ha estat tractat especialment. El Teorema de Baldwin (1991) resol el problema en el cas de les n-estrelles i ha estat un dels avenços més significatius en aquesta direcció. Aquest resultat estableix que el conjunt de períodes per a una aplicació de la n-estrella és unió finita de segments inicials de n ordres parcials (ordres de Baldwin), i recíprocament.El nostre objectiu principal és descriure l'estructura del conjunt de períodes de qualsevol aplicació contínua d'un arbre T en termes de les propietats combinatòries i topològiques de T: quantitat i disposició d'extrems, vèrtexs i arestes. En el capítol 1 discutim detalladament la manera més natural d'atacar el problema, i proposem una estratègia consistent en tres etapes consecutives. L'eina principal d'aquesta estratègia són els models minimals de patrons. Aquestes nocions es van desenvolupar i utilitzar durant les darreres dècades en el context de l'interval. En canvi, no es disposava de definicions operatives equivalents per a arbres, fins que al 1997 Alseda, Guaschi, Los, Manyosas i Mumbru proposaren de definir el patró d'un conjunt finit invariant P essencialment com una classe d'homotopia d'aplicacions relativa a P, i provaren (constructivament) que sempre existeix un model P-canònic amb propietats de minimalitat dinàmica. L'objectiu del capítol 2 és implementar completament el programa proposat, duent a terme les etapes 2 i 3. El resultat principal d'aquest capítol diu que, donada una aplicació g definida en un arbre T, existeix un conjunt S de successions finites d'enters positius tal que el conjunt de períodes de g és (excepte un conjunt finit explícitament acotat) una unió finita de segments inicials d'ordres de Baldwin donats en termes del conjunt S, que depèn de les propietats combinatòries de l'arbre T. També provem el recíproc. En el capítol 3 duem a terme experiments informàtics sobre la minimalitat dinàmica dels models canònics. En un esperit de programació modular, hem dissenyat moltes funcions autocontingudes que poden ser usades per implementar una gran varietat d'aplicacions d'ús divers. Entre altres, tenim funcions que calculen el model canònic d'un patró donat per l'usuari, calculen la matriu de Markov associada a un model monòton a trossos i extreuen tots els llaços simples d'una matriu de transició de Markov. Finalment, en el capítol 4 generalitzem alguns resultats de Block i Coven, Misiurewicz i Nitecki i Takahashi, en els quals l'entropia topològica d'una aplicació de l'interval s'aproxima per les entropies de les seves òrbites periòdiques. Hem provat relacions anàlogues en el context de les aplicacions de grafs., This memoir deals with one-dimensional discrete dynamical systems, from both a topological and a combinatorial point of view. We are interested in the periodic orbits and topological entropy of continuous self-maps defined on trees and graphs.The central problem is the characterisation of the set of periods of all periodic orbits exhibited by any continuous map from a tree into itself. The Sharkovskii's Theorem (1964) was the first remarkable result in this setting. This theorem states that the set of periods of any interval map is an initial segment of a linear ordering (the so-called Sharkovskii ordering). Conversely, given any initial segment of the Sharkovskii ordering, there exists an interval map whose set of periods coincides with it.During the last decades there have been several attempts to find results similar to that of Sharkovskii for other one-dimensional spaces. Recently, the case of maps defined on general trees has been specially treated. Baldwin's Theorem (1991), which solves the problem in the case of n-stars for any n, has been one of the most significant advances in this direction. This result states that the set of periods of any n-star map is a finite union of initial segments of n-many partial orderings (the Baldwin orderings). The converse is also true.Our main purpose is to describe the generic structure of the set of periods of any continuous self-map defined on a tree T in terms of the combinatorial and topological properties of T: amount and arrangement of endpoints, vertices and edges. In Chapter 1 we make a detailed discussion about which is the more natural approach to this problem, and we propose a strategy consisting on three consecutive stages and using minimal models of patterns as the main tool. These notions were developed in the context of interval maps and widely used in a number of papers during the last two decades. However, equivalent operative definitions for tree maps were not available until 1997, when Alseda, Guaschi, Los, Manosas and Mumbru proposed to define the pattern of a finite invariant set P essentially as a homotopy class of maps relative to the points of P, and proved (constructively) that there always exists a P-canonical model displaying dynamic minimality properties.The goal of Chapter 2 is to implement in full the above programme by completing stages 2 and 3. The main result of Chapter 2 tells us that for each tree map g defined on a tree T there exists a finite set S of sequences of positive integers such that the set of periods of g is (up to an explicitly bounded finite set) a finite union of initial segments of Baldwin orderings, given in terms of the set S, which depends on the combinatorial properties of the tree T. We also prove the converse result.In Chapter 3 we report some computer experiments on the minimality of the dynamics of canonical models. In a spirit of modular programming, we have designed lots of self-contained functions which can be used to implement a wide variety of several-purpose software. Among other, we have functions that: compute the canonical model of a pattern provided by the user, calculate the Markov transition matrix associated to a piecewise monotone tree map and extract all the simple loops of a given length from a Markov transition matrix.Finally, in Chapter 4 we generalize some results of Block & Coven, Misiurewicz & Nitecki and Takahashi, where the topological entropy of an interval map was approximated by the entropies of its periodic orbits. We prove analogous relations in the setting of graph maps.

[spa] En esta tesis se estudia el problema de clasificación de estructuras simplécticas definidas en un entorno de una órbita singular compacta de un sistema completamente integrable sobre una variedad simpléctica para las cuales la foliación determinada por la aplicación momento es genéricamente Lagrangiana. Dicha foliación está determinada por las órbitas de la distribución generada por los gradientes simplécticos de las componentes de la aplicación momento "F". En dicho estudio suponemos que la aplicación momento es una aplicación propia y que la singularidad es no-degenerada en el sentido de Morse-Bolt. Los invariantes diferenciables para dicha foliación vienen determinados por el rango de la órbita, el tipo de Williamson y un grupo "twisting" actuando sobre las componentes hiperbólicas. Dichos invariantes determinan un modelo lineal diferenciable para la foliación. Bajo estas hipótesis demostramos que dadas dos estructuras simplécticas "omega_1"y "omega_2" para las cuales la foliación es genéricamente Lagrangiana son equivalentes en el sentido siguiente: existe un difeomorfismo definido en un entorno de la órbita singular compacta preservando la foliación y enviando "omega_1" a "omega_2". En el caso en que exista una acción simpléctica de un grupo de Lie compacto "G" que conserva la aplicación momento "F", probamos que existe un difeomorfismo cumpliendo las condiciones anteriores y que además dicho difeomorfismo puede construirse de forma "G"-equivariante. En esta tesis también damos una aplicación de este resultado de clasificación en geometría de contacto.

Para grupos topológicos abelianos maximalmente casi periódicos (en el sentido de von Neumann) es sencillo describir su compactación de Bohr, bG. En este caso puede identificarse bG con el conjunto de homomorfismos del dual de G en el toro de dimensión 1. La topología que G hereda como subgrupo de bG es la topología de Bohr de G. Resulta que la topología de Bohr es una topología totalmente acotada generada por el grupo de caracteres continuos de G. Con ese punto de partida y, utilizando el concepto de grupos en dualidad introducido por Varopoulos, se estudian diversas propiedades topológicas para la topología débil de una dualidad. Se obtiene con ello una caracterización de la débil realcompacidad en términos similares a los obtenidos por otros autores para espacios de Banach, espacios vectoriales topológicos localmente convexos y grupos abelianos localmente compactos. Además se obtienen caracterizaciones para la realcompacidad hereditaria y la pseudocompacidad. Diversos autores han considerado también el problema de la preservación de la compacidad, así como de otras propiedades topológicas, al pasar a la topología de Bohr. En esta tesis se introduce una nueva clase de grupos, los g-grupos, que aglutina a muchas otras clases de grupos topológicos: los grupos abelianos localmente compactos, los grupos aditivos de espacios vectoriales topológicos y los grupos nucleares, entre otros. Para esta nueva clase se obtiene una caracterización de la preservación de la compacidad que engloba y unifica las aproximaciones obtenidas separadamente para cada una de las clases mencionadas anteriormente. El estudio anterior se particulariza para los grupos metrizables, consiguiendo nuevas caracterizaciones estrechamente relacionadas con el trabajo de van Douwen para grupos discretos. En particular, se obtiene una caracterización para los grupos aditivos de espacios de Banach y se muestra, con un ejemplo de Bourgain, que ésta díficilmente puede ser refinada.

Esta tesis aborda la sincronización de una o varias réplicas de una señal conocida recibidas en un entorno con propagación multicamino e interferencias direccionales. Uno de los hilos conductores de este trabajo es la aplicación sistemática del principio de máxima verosimilitud (ML) junto con un modelo de señal en el cual las armas espaciales no tienen estructura, y en cual el ruido es Gaussiano y presenta una matriz de correlación desconocida. Esta última suposición es fundamental a la hora de obtener estimadores capaces de atenuar las señales interferentes que presentan algún tipo de estructura, y esto se consigue sin necesidad de recurrir a la estimación de ciertos parámetros de dichas señales. Por otra parte, la suposición de que las armas espaciales carecen de estructura tiene ventajas desde un punto de vista práctico, al mismo tiempo que simplifica la estimación del resto de parámetros ya que las estimaciones de estas firmas se pueden calcular de forma cerrada. Esto constituye un primer paso hacia la eliminación de las búsquedas en múltiples dimensiones, que es otro de los objetivos perseguidos en este trabajo.En la primera parte de la tesis se deduce la solución de máxima verosimilitud para el problema general de estimación de retardos cuando el ruido tiene correlación espacial desconocida. Se demuestra que el criterio resultante para los retardos es consistente y asintóticamente eficiente, pero también es altamente no-lineal debido a la presencia del determinante de una matriz y no permite, por tanto, el uso de procedimientos sencillos de optimización. Asimismo, se demuestra y se argumenta intuitivamente que el criterio _ optimo ML se puede aproximar por una función de coste más sencilla que es asintóticamente equivalente. A diferencia de otros problemas de estimación, en el caso tratado aquí, el primer término del desarrollo de Taylor del estimador ML no conserva la eficiencia asintótica. La característica esencial de la nueva función de coste es que depende linealmente de la matriz de proyección sobre el subespacio de las señales y, por lo tanto, admite ser minimizada mediante el algoritmo IQML, que es eficiente desde el punto de vista computacional. Además, la existencia de métodos de inicialización sencillos y robustos a las interferencias, los cuales se basan en el uso de una matriz de pesos igual a la identidad y posiblemente también en el algoritmo ESPRIT, hace que el esquema de estimación propuesto pueda ser viable para un diseño práctico. La nueva función de coste se puede aplicar de la misma manera a la estimación del retardo en un canal FIR. En este caso, el algoritmo IQML se puede modificar de forma que, en cada iteración, la estimación del retardo se obtiene a partir de las raíces de un polinomio cuyo orden es igual a la longitud del canal.El objetivo perseguido por los estimadores presentados en la segunda parte de la tesis es aprovechar una particularidad de los sistemas GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), que consiste en que la dirección de llegada de la señal directa puede ser conocida a priori. Basándose en esta información adicional y suponiendo que el array está calibrado, se propone un modelo simplificado, aunque al mismo tiempo aproximado, para la señal recibida. En este modelo todas las señales excepto la señal directa se engloban en un término con correlación espacial desconocida. Se analizan los estimadores ML del retardo y de la fase de portadora de la señal directa. El sesgo producido por las componentes multicamino al utilizar estos estimadores se reduce de forma muy importante con respecto al sesgo que sufren otros métodos. De hecho, el error cuadrático medio de los estimadores propuestos es en muchas ocasiones muy próximo o incluso inferior al mínimo error que se puede alcanzar con modelos más detallados del canal multicamino. Asimismo, se presentan dos algoritmos de estimación del retardo basados en el cálculo de las raíces de un polinomio. Se demuestra también que las estimaciones ML se pueden obtener a partir de la señal de salida de un conformador de haz híbrido. Debido a que el propio conformador depende de las estimaciones del retardo y de la amplitud de la señal directa, el uso de un algoritmo iterativo surge de forma natural. La formulación mediante el conformador híbrido proporciona una interpretación alternativa interesante de la estimación ML, y podrá ser apropiada para una realización práctica. Finalmente, se demuestra analíticamente y numéricamente que el estimador propuesto para el retardo es robusto frente a errores en el valor nominal del vector de enfoque de la señal directa, y se presenta una manera de extender el margen tolerable de errores de apuntamiento.En la última parte de la tesis se trata la sincronización de un usuario deseado que transmite una secuencia de entrenamiento conocida en un sistema de comunicaciones DS-CDMA.El modelo de señal utilizado agrupa el ruido, y la interferencia externa y de acceso múltiple en un término de ruido equivalente que presenta una matriz de correlación espacio-temporal desconocida. Partiendo de este modelo, se deduce un estimador del retardo que es una aproximación para un numero grande de muestras del estimador ML exacto y que es apropiado para canales con desvanecimientos lentos y noselectivos en frecuencia. El estimador propuesto es una técnica de un solo usuario y es resistente al efecto near-far. Su importancia radica en el hecho de que aprovecha la estructura de las señales en el dominio temporal y espacial, lo que contrasta con otros métodos existentes que, a pesar de utilizar un array de antenas, sólo utilizan la estructura de las señales en uno de los dos dominios. En un sistema de comunicaciones móviles, el usuario deseado está interferido por un número generalmente elevado de señales de otros usuarios y por posibles interferencias externas. En concordancia con este hecho, los resultados numéricos han mostrado que el uso conjunto de todos los grados de libertad espacio-temporales es indispensable para la correcta adquisición y seguimiento del retardo en sistemas con una carga elevada de usuarios y/o en presencia de interferencias externas., The thesis deals with the synchronization of one or several replicas of a known signal received in a scenario with multipath propagation and directional interference. A connecting theme along this work is the systematic application of the maximum likelihood (ML) principle together with a signal model in which the spatial signatures are unstructured and the noise term is Gaussian with an unknown correlation matrix. This last assumption is key in obtaining estimators that are capable of mitigating the disturbing signals that exhibit certain structure. On the other hand, the assumption of unstructured spatial signatures is interesting from a practical standpoint and facilitates the estimation. The elimination of the multidimensional searches required by many estimators is one of the main objectives of the thesis.In the first part of the thesis, the maximum likelihood solution to the general time delay estimation problem for the case of noise with unknown spatial correlation is derived. The resulting criterion for the delays is shown to be consistent and asymptotically efficient; but it is highly non-linear, and does not lead to simple optimization procedures. It is shown that the optimal ML criterion can be approximated by an asymptotically equivalent cost function. The cost function depends linearly on the projection matrix onto the subspace spanned by the signals, and hence it can be minimized using the IQML algorithm. The existence of simple initialization schemes based on identity weightings or ESPRIT makes the approach viable for practical implementation. The proposed cost function can be applied to the estimation of the delay in a FIR channel. In this case, each iteration of IQML comes down to rooting a polynomial.The goal of the estimators presented in the second part of the thesis is to take advantage of one particularity of the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) systems, such as GPS and GLONASS, consisting in that the direction-of-arrival of the line-of-sight signal may be known a priori. A simplified and approximate model for the received signal is proposed. The ML estimators of the time delay and carrier phase of the direct signal largely reduce the bias produced by multipath components. Their RMSE is in many situations very close to or even better than the best possible performance attainable with more detailed models of the multipath channel. It is also shown that the ML estimates can be obtained from the output signal of a hybrid beamformer. In the last part of the thesis, the synchronization of a desired user transmitting a known training sequence in a DS-CDMA communication system is addressed. Multiple-access interference, external interference and noise are assumed to have unknown space-time correlation. A large-sample ML code-timing estimator that operates in frequency-nonselective, slowly fading channels is derived. It is a single-user and near-far resistant method. It is shown that the use of all spatial and temporal degrees of freedom is indispensable for the correct acquisition and tracking of the synchronization parameters in heavily loaded systems and/or in the presence of external interference.

In this paper, the aerodynamic admittance or the dynamic lift function of long spannedbridges with plate like structural section are discussed, and the deflectional response of afew sectional models due to random vertical gust is analized by numerical calculationmethod evaluating Duhamel's integral and by analog simulation method.Experimental results of dynamic lift function in wind tunnel test are simulated approxi-mately by the modified quasi-steady theory or the Sears function.By using with these dynamic lift functions, the calculating results of numerical analysisand analog analysis for the deflectional response due to vertical gust show the goodagreement with the experimental results.

In this study, the effects of turbulence on galloping were investigted from the frequencyeffect of turbulence point of view. Two 2-D rectangular cylinders with slenderness ratios 1 (B/D=1, B: chord length, D: height of section) and 2 (B/D=2) were used and the steady lift forceand an aerodynamic response were measured in grid-turbulent flow and a pulsating sinusoidalflow. As a result, it is sujested that the higher frequency fluctuating components of turbulenceintensifies the entrainment effect of separated shear layer around the body, and the comparativelylow frequency fluctuating components of turbulence which is correspponeding to "shear layer in-stability enhancement frequency region" which would generate a vortices on a body side surfacewhich sometimes interact with Karman vortices, have few significant effect on steady lift forceand galloping response.

In this study, human-response against bridge vibration was investigated in the frequencyrange 0.2 Hz-1.0 Hz and in the amplitude range 1.0 cm-10.0 cm in order to evaluate serviceabilitylevel for pedestrian to the bridge vibration. Approximately 100 persons were tested on OhshimaBridge and vertically oscillating stage.Furthermore, the evaluation procedure of the extreme distribution of wind speed in considera-tion of Typhoon effect in various wind directions was developed and failure probability of severallong span suspension bridges due to strong wind were calculated. Finally the conceptional prob-abilistic approach of bridge design method against strong wind was shown in standing on a fai-lure probability.

This study aims to clarify the aerodynamic effects of the "corner cut" for the sake of themitigation of aerodynamic instability of the tower like structure. Two-dimensional rectangularcylinders with various cutting of their corners were tested in a wind tunnel, and their re-sponse, stationary pressure and stationary aerostatic force were measured in smooth flow. Be-sides flow visualization in water flume was carried out in order to visualize the effect of "cor-ner cut" to the flow pattern.Finally, the optimum size of corner cut was discussed by use of the elastic full scalemodel of tower of a long spanned cable-stayed bridge.

In order to anticipate various aspects of local scouring phenomena around abridge pier, a dynamic and flexible model will be necessary which reflects theessence of the phenomena. Such a model was constructed considering tractive forcedue to horseshoe vortex, geometrical similarity of scour hole and mass balance ofsediments in the scour hole. The model explained the feature of scouring processwhich has been observed in flume experiments under oscillatory flow conditions, such as scouring and deposition of scour hole associated with the change of flowdirection. The model was considered useful for rough estimation of maximum scourdepth at least.

The effect of vehicle loading on the seismic load of highway bridges isdiscussed. Urban expressways that are subjected to frequent traffic congestions areof primary concern. For this purpose, it is assumed that a bridge is loaded withheavy trucks at the moment of earthquake occurrence. The subject is dealt with asa dynamic interaction problem between bridge structures and vehicles. Bridge-vehicle systems are analyzed in terms of complex eigen-value problem and responsetime-history analysis. The vibration modes pertinent to the effect of vehicle loadingare identified. The result of earthquake response analysis is examined extensivelyby comparing the responses of bridge-vehicle systems and those of bridge-alone forvarious conditions of input earthquake motions and truck weight. From theseresults, the effect of vehicle loading on the seismic loads is made clear. On thisbasis, some coments are made on bridge desigh.

Hydraulic characteristics around various types of flow obstructions is a problem of continuinginterest. Many investigators have published results on the various aspects of this problem inthe past, particularly on the local scour around bridge piers.The present study is concerned with local scour around single cylindrical pier or plural cylin-drical piers arranged in various types under the condition of clear water scour. In the case ofsingle cylindrical pier, the variation of scour depth with time is investigated experimentally toobtain a formula. On the other hand, in the case of plural cylindrical piers, the effect of arrange-ment of piers on the scour characteristics is investigated mainly.

This study is concerned with the bluff body aerodynamics, I.e. the vortex-induced oscillationand galloping.Aerodynamic effects of separated vortices generated by body movement to torsional vortex-induced oscillation has been investigated by changing rotational axis of two dimensional rect-angular cylinder. Furthermore, the Karman vortex effect to these self-movement vortex-in-duced oscillation has been experimentally clarified by arrangement of splitter plate in a wakeof cylinder.The galloping investigation for simplified box girder section and the fundamental considera-tion of its aerodynamically stabilizing mechanism have been done by pressure measurement, static force measurement and flow visualization.

This paper concerns with an experimental investigation of the hydraulic characteristics ofthe flow behind two circular cylinders arranged latetrally. The study deals with the flow fieldnear cylinders. The vortex shedding properties are analyzed on the basis of the data obtainedby the propeller flowmeter, and the characteristics of vortex shedding process in ralation to thespacing between two cylinders are investigated from various viewpoint. The instantaneousstreamline pattern is also described by the use of flow visualization technique.

In this study the aerodynamic improvement for the coupled flutter oscillation of the bridgeroad deck box section of super long-spanned suspension bridge was experimentally investigated.The mitigation of the aerodynamic instability by installing "air gap" on the deck was target-ed here, besides the effects of the geometry shape of the edge fairing of the box girder werebliefly discussed. The unsteady pressure distribution on the box girder in a state of coupledflutter oscillation was measured, then it was clarified the pressure difference between upperand lower flange near the leading edge was significantly mitigated by the installment of "airgap", consequently this could sufficiently and aerodynamically stabilize the box girder.

Se estudia sistemáticamente la geometría y la topología de variedades de Kahler indefinidas. Se da un primer capítulo de ejemplos de estos espacios.
