Digitalisering är ett hett ämne idag och framförallt i offentlig sektor. Sverige arbetar väldigthårt med att digitalisera och det avspeglar sig i kommunerna och dess arbete. Ett relativt vanligtfenomen idag är att kommuner inför surfplattor till dess förtroendevalda politiker. Surfplattanersätter den tidigare pappersprocessen gällande handlingar inför möten ochbeslutssammanträden. Kommunerna själva och media menar att detta ska effektivisera arbetet,vara ett bättre miljöalternativ och föra med sig papperslöshet. Dock är studier kring dettabegränsat. Det finns inga studier som påvisar vad som egentligen effektiviseras eller hursurfplattan bidrar till detta. Däremot finns det studier avseende surfplattan som substitut förpapper som visar att papperslöshet är en myt och omöjligt att uppnå. Andra studier visar ävenbrister med surfplattan vid exempelvis läsbarhet, att använda på möten och att en surfplattaegentligen inte effektiviserar någonting.Då det fanns väldigt begränsat med forskning kring det här fenomenet kände vi att vi ville grävadjupare i det och titta på hur övergången från papper till surfplatta verkligen upplevs avanvändarna. Vi ansåg att aspekter kring vad surfplattan bidrar med, hur den är som substitut förpapper, läsbarheten på den och vilka möjligheter som finns med surfplattan. Vi kände att dessaaspekter var obesvarade men också viktiga att beröra då detta blir allt mer förekommande blandSveriges kommuner. Vilket då blev vårt syfte med den här studien och realiserades genom enmixad studie på Mjölby kommun.Vi valde att göra en mixad, abduktiv och tolkande studie med både intervjuer och en enkät föratt få en så god bredd som möjligt. Detta utfördes i samarbete med Mjölby kommun som relativtnyligen genomfört en övergång som denna. Vi valde att fokusera på aspekter som berörts itidigare studier avseende surfplattan som arbetsverktyg och sådant som dök upp underintervjuerna.Den slutsats vi kunde dra var först och främst att surfplattan faktiskt är ett väldigt bra substitutför papper då den har flera karaktärsdrag som liknar pappret. Surfplattan fungerar även utmärktatt läsa och arbeta på, åtminstone enligt respondenterna på denna kommun. Surfplattan harresulterat i flexibilitet, mobilitet och en smidighet för politikerna, då pappret nu till stor del harförsvunnit. Surfplattan har även bringat nytta för den administrativt arbetande personalen påMjölby kommun då de nu kunnat minska förbrukningen på papper och kunnat effektivisera sittarbete i distributionen av handlingar. Dock drog vi slutsatsen att allt för lite av justeffektiviseringen når användarna, det är tydligt att det krävs verksamhets- ocharbetsprocessförändringar för att effektiviteten ska gynna både administrationen ochpolitikerna. Angående förbättringar och problem kring surfplattan kunde vi identifiera attmycket handlade om att översätta funktionaliteten från pappret. Det som var bra och smidigtmed pappret måste även existera i surfplattan för att användarna ska vara nöjda. Sen handlardet även om att ta tillvara på de möjligheter som finns när man gör en övergång från analogttill digitalt. Det räcker inte med att vara nöjd när digitalisering av ett tidigare analogt arbete ärutfört, fortsatt utveckling öppnar upp för många möjligheter. Nowadays digitalization is a hot topic, especially in the public sector. Sweden as a country isworking hard with digitalization, and is reflected in the municipalities and their work. Arelatively common phenomenon today is that the municipalities implements tablets for theirelected representatives (politicians). The tablet replaces the previous paper processes regardingdocument management at meetings and decision making for political matters. Themunicipalities themselves and the media means that this should streamline and make the workmore efficient, be a better environmental alternative and contribute to the paperless office.However, previous studies regarding this is limited. There are no previous studies thatdemonstrates what is being streamlined nor how the tablet contributes to this. However, thereare some studies of the tablet as a substitute for paper which shows that the paperless office isa myth and almost impossible to reach. Other studies also show flaws with the tablet, regardingreadability, as a tool at the meeting and that the tablet itself is not streamlining anything.Since previous studies regarding this phenomenon was limited, we felt that we wanted to digdeeper into this and study how the transition from paper to tablet is experienced by the users.We felt that aspects regarding what the tablet is really contributing with, how well of a substitutefor paper it is, readability and what possibilities there is with a tablet. We felt that these aspectswere unanswered but also important since the implementation of tablets is more and morecommon among municipalities in Sweden. Which became our purpose with this study and wasrealized through a mixed method study at the municipality of Mjölby.We chose to do a mixed, abductive and interpretative study with both interviews and aquestionnaire in order to reach as good width as possibly. The study was conducted at themunicipality of Mjölby since they recently did a transition, just as the one that we wanted tostudy. We chose to focus on aspects discussed in previous studies regarding the tablet as awork tool and the ones that appeared during the interviews.The first and foremost conclusion we could draw was that the tablet actually is a good substitutefor paper since it got multiple and similar characteristics as the paper. The tablet is also a goodartefact to read on and to use for everyday work, at least according to the interviewees at thismunicipality. The experienced effects of the tablet are flexibility, mobility and simplicity forthe politicians, since a lot of the paper is now gone. The tablet has also been beneficial for theadministration and the administrative personnel at Mjölby duo to less consumption of paper,more streamlined work process of distributing all the documents. However, we concluded thattoo little of the actual efficiency is reaching the users. It is clear that business and workflowprocesses requires change so efficiency will benefit both administration and the politicians.Regarding improvements and problems with the tablet we identified that a lot is concerned withthe ability to translate and transfer functionality from the paper to the tablet. What is good andsimple with the paper must also exist with the tablet, in order for the users to be pleased. Butalso, the importance to take advantage of the possibilities that arises with the transition from ananalog to a digital work environment. It is not enough to just be pleased with the digitalizationitself, continuous development opens up for many possibilities.

The purpose of the paper is to contribute to the scientific research field by explaining whether, and if so on what grounds, the Swedish targeted interest deduction limitation legislation can be tested in the European Court of Justice against the free movement of capital. In addition, the study examines whether there can be considered a mutual priority regarding the free movement of capital and the freedom of establishment. The study conducted in the paper is based on the Swedish law, the preparatory work and doctrine, which is combined with case law. Initially, the meaning of the targeted interest deduction limitation rules is presented as well as the theoretical scope of the legislation in relation to its scope in practice. The targeted interest deduction limitation rules are specific provisions addressing the deductibility of interest incurred by certain companies as a result of intra-group financing. The theoretical scope differs from the practical scope due to the vague conceptual definitions in both the legislative text and the preparatory works. Furthermore, it is analysed which determines when the free movement of capital and the freedom of establishment should be applied, based on the EU case law. The study indicates that the controlling interest must be given a significant weight when considering the purpose of the national legislation, but it is difficult to interpret exactly when such an interest occurs in practice. Lastly, it is studied whether it might be possible to review the targeted interest deduction limitation rules against the free movement of capital, and if so, on which grounds. The study shows that there are possibilities to review the targeted interest deduction limitation rules against the free movement of capital. There are incentives that indicate that such a review is possible if both Swedish and EU law practice is interpreted in a fairly narrow way. Syftet med uppsatsen är att bidra till det vetenskapliga forskningsfältet genom att redogöra för huruvida, och i så fall på vilka grunder, de svenska riktade ränteavdragsbegränsningsreglerna kan prövas gentemot den grundläggande EU-rättsliga fördragsfriheten beträffande fri rörlighet för kapitalrörelser. Därutöver undersöks om det kan anses föreligga en inbördes prioritet beträffande den fria rörligheten för kapital och etableringsfriheten. Den utredning som genomförs i uppsatsen tar avstamp i lagtext, förarbeten och doktrin, vilket kombineras med rättspraxis. Inledningsvis presenteras innebörden av de riktade ränteavdragsbegränsningsreglerna och hur lagreglernas teoretiska tillämpningsområde förhåller sig till dess tillämpningsområde i realiteten. De riktade ränteavdragsbegränsningsreglerna utgörs av särskilda bestämmelser vilka behandlar vissa företags avdragsmöjligheter beträffande räntor uppkomna till följd av, inom en intressegemenskap, intern finansiering. Det teoretiska tillämpningsområdet skiljer sig från tillämpningsområdet i realiteten till följd av vaga begreppsdefinitioner i såväl lagtext som i förarbeten. Vidare analyseras vad det är som avgör när fördragsfriheten den fria rörligheten för kapital respektive etableringsfriheten skall tillämpas, vilket tar avstamp i EU-rättslig praxis. Av utredningen framgår att det bestämmande inflytandet skall tillerkännas stor vikt vid beaktandet av de nationella lagreglernas ändamål, exakt när ett sådant inflytande föreligger är dock svårt att tyda i praxis. Avslutningsvis undersöks om det bör vara möjligt att göra en prövning av de riktade ränteavdragsbegränsningsreglerna gentemot den fria rörligheten för kapital, och i så fall på vilka grunder. Studien visar att det finns möjligheter att för att pröva de riktade ränteavdragsbegränsningsreglerna gentemot fördragsfriheten om fria kapitalrörelser. Det finns incitament som tyder på att en sådan prövning är möjlig under förutsättning att såväl svensk som EU-rättslig praxis tolkas på ett tämligen snävt sätt.

In the last few years, Swedish municipalities have striven to adopt automation to increase their internal efficiency by automating administrative processes. This E-Government initiative is taking place as part of the ongoing digitalization efforts by Swedish municipalities. To be able to automate processes, municipalities are introducing new types of software, such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This allows the need for human involvement to be reduced, by letting a software robot perform processes instead. In adopting automation, several different stakeholders are involved, ranging from the original suppliers of the software to the case workers performing processes that might be automated. The aim of this thesis is to explore and understand different stakeholder perspectives on automation. This is done by identifying sociotechnical imaginaries of automation amongst involved stakeholders by conducting a qualitative and interpretive analysis of the contents of the five papers that are part of this thesis. Sociotechnical imaginaries of automation are visions of the future that stakeholders imagine automation as able to bring. Three sociotechnical imaginaries of automation are identified: Automation is a new era of digitalization, Automation is a powerful tool, and Automation is just another software. These imaginaries are held and performed by six stake-holder groups: Suppliers, Developers, Policymakers, Strategists, Civil serv-ants, and IT Department. Underlying interests, closeness to real-life-practice, experience with automation and how stakeholders influence each other are discussed as possible reasons for there being different sociotechnical imaginaries. From this, it is concluded that different stakeholders have different ideas of what automation entails and thus what “the automated municipality” looks like. Contradictions between different sociotechnical imaginaries are potential obstacles of communication and co-operation as different stakeholders may plan and approach automation differently. This thesis contributes a novel way of how the adoption of automation in Swedish municipalities can be understood. The aim of this paper is to show that scientific thought experiments and works of science fiction are highly suitable tools for facilitating and increasing understanding of science. After comparing one of Einstein’s most famous thought experiments with the science fiction novel “The Forever War”, I shall argue that both proceed similarly in making some of the more outlandish consequences of special relativity theory intelligible. However, as I will also point out, understanding in thought experiments and understanding in science fiction differ in one important respect: While the former aim at what I shall call “physical understanding”, science fiction novels typically have “existential understanding” as their target. Copyright is seen everywhere in the society. It is structured to accommodate several perspectives, namely, a balance between protecting the individual copyright owners’ rights and encouraging the creativity on both an individual and societal level. The copyright owner cannot be granted a redundant protection at the expense of the other interests. For this reason, a copy of someone else’s copyright protected work can be done as long as the copying is for private use. Copying is for this reason something that the copyright owner must endure, but in some cases the right to copy for private use has to be constrained. A potential future problem will be at the point when a private person can 3D print in their own home. The rapid development regarding 3D printing makes the technology more developed and, in addition, an increased influence over the society. As for the fashion industry, the technology comes with advantages, but also some disadvantages. In some years, the 3D printer has been able to print jewelry, watches and shoes. Lately, the technology also can print fashion products with material such as leather and textiles. If the technology continues to develop like today there is a chance, or a risk, with private persons having access to 3D printers at a “printing house” or in their own home, similar to a traditional paper printer today. The possibilities with printing what ever a person want to print will be a threat against manufacturing companies and their retailers. The person can thus avoid purchasing the product on the market by producing his own by making a copy of someone else’s copyright protected work with a disclaimer that the copy is for private use. The technological development will materialize challenges that the legislator has to consider and respond to, especially on the copyright area. The day when a copy can be made as cheap and as fast as purchasing the product on the market, the principal rule regarding private copying must be limited. Otherwise, the manufacturing companies and their retailers will be threatened and there is a risk that they will be outcompeted. The conclusion can be drawn, that an extended private copying levy in combination with a protection through technical action and a requisite of a reasonable use in art. 5 Infosoc-directive and 12 § URL, can solve the problem with 3D-printers and copying for private use. Whether the problems with 3D printing and copyright will become a reality, or not, depends on the future development of the technology. Sammanfattning Upphovsrätter återfinns överallt i samhället. Dess syfte är att skydda upphovsmannens ensamrätt, liksom att balansera intressen som att främja kreativiteten och åsiktsbildningen, samhällsintresset och konsumentintresset. Kopiering av ett upphovsrättsligt skyddat verk får upphovsmannen utstå dagligen. Förutsatt att kopian är avsedd för privat brukande är kopieringen tillåten. Anledningen till detta undantag är att lagstiftaren anser att ensamrätten inte får vara för stark. Problematiken beträffande privat kopiering kommer att aktualiseras den dag när 3D-skrivartekniken är så pass utvecklad att privatpersoner har en ”minifabrik” i sitt hem. Den dagen när detta inträffar kommer privatpersoner inte att behöva gå till affären för att inhandla en specifik produkt, utan kan istället tillverka den hemma med hjälp av en CAD-fil och en 3D-skrivare, ett förfarande som kan komma att bli förfärande för företagen och samhället som helhet. Den teknologiska utvecklingen beträffande 3D-skrivare går snabbt framåt och med tiden får skrivaren ett större inflytande i samhället. I samband med utvecklingen har skrivarens kapacitet ökat samtidigt som priset sjunker. I dagsläget är emellertid en avancerad 3D-skrivare dyr vilket medför att det är ovanligt för privatpersoner att ha tillgång till en sådan i sitt hem. För modebranschen har 3D-skrivarens utveckling inneburit en hel del fördelar, men med tekniken kommer även nackdelar. 3D-skrivaren har under en längre tid kunnat framställa modeprodukter såsom smycken, klockor och skor. Utvecklingen har på senaste tiden gjort det möjligt att även framställa modeprodukter av exempelvis läder, textil och skinn. Förutsatt att tekniken fortsätter utvecklas i den snabba takt som sker i dagsläget finns det en chans eller en risk att gemene man kommer att ha tillgång till en 3D-skrivare via ett ”printing house” eller till och med att gemene man har tillgång till en egen 3D-skrivare i sitt hem, precis som de allra flesta har tillgång till en traditionell pappersskrivare idag. Möjligheten att kunna skriva ut den produkt som önskas kommer att hota tillverkningsföretag och dess återförsäljare. Utvecklingen kommer att aktualisera utmaningar som lagstiftaren måste beakta och bemöta, särskilt på det upphovsrättsliga området. En potentiell lösning på dessa utmaningar är ett utvidgat kassettersättningssystem för att på så sätt säkerställa att upphovsmannen får ersättning för sin skada, i kombination med ett skydd för tekniska åtgärder och ett nytt rekvisit om skälig användning i art. 5 Infosoc-direktivet och 12 § URL. Om problemen med 3D-skrivartekniken och upphovsrätten kommer att bli realiserade i framtiden beror på hur utvecklingen kommer att se ut, något som återstår att se.

The attractiveness of audit firms as employers appears to have decreased in recent yearsand the audit profession is currently experiencing high employee turnover. A shortage of personnelincreases the risk of long-term stress and illness. This paper therefore proposes audit firmemployees’ well-being as an important research topic and explores the antecedents of well-being ofSwedish audit firm employees in comparison with those of other business professionals. Based ona nationwide survey of members of the Swedish association of business professionals, with a focuson psychological well-being (measured through General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12)), thestudy shows that the psychological well-being of the professionals in this study generally alignswith the results from similar studies in a Swedish context. However, the findings indicate that auditindustry respondents have the lowest psychological well-being and that employer change, jobsatisfaction, and life satisfaction were the strongest antecedents of their psychological well-being. Till följd av den globala finanskrisen år 2008 ställdes det europeiska samarbetet på prov. I och med detta presenterade EU ett förslag till ett direktiv angående en finansiell transaktionsskatt för samtliga länder inom EU. Elva av EU:s 28 medlemsländer har valt att ställa sig bakom förslaget om en finansiell transaktionsskatt, vilket innebär att dessa länder avser införa en finansiell transaktionsskatt. Tidigare empiriska erfarenheter har dock visat att en finansiell transaktionsskatt är mindre effektiv än vad förespråkarna gör gällande, varken påverkan på skatteintäkter eller marknadens volatilitet har i dessa fall levt upp till de önskvärda effekterna. Denna uppsats syfte är att analysera vad som ligger till grund för ländernas ställningstagande och uppsatsens hypotes ger vid handen att det föreligger ett positivt samband mellan finanskrisens påverkan på respektive EU land, inhemsk opinion och ett positivt ställningstagande till en finansiell transaktionsskatt inom EU. För att testa hypotesen används en induktiv metod vilken är uppbyggd på vetenskapliga artiklar och ekonomisk litteratur. Vidare genomförs flera regressionsanalyser i syfte att påvisa de positiva samband som hypotesen antar föreligger. I de uppvisade resultaten framgår att det går att stödja uppsatsens hypotes. Uppsatsen kommer därför fram till att det föreligger ett positivt samband mellan finanskrisens påverkan på respektive EU-land, inhemsk opinion och ett positivt ställningstagande till en finansiell transaktionsskatt. In the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis the European Union was put to the test. As a result, the EU submitted a proposal for a directive regarding a financial transactions tax levied throughout every nation in the European Union. Eleven of the 28 EU member states decided to support the proposal for a financial transactions tax. The eleven member states adopted the stance to support the proposal in spite of the historical empirical evidence indicating a financial transactions tax to not be as effective as the advocators claim. This paper aims to analyse the basis of the EU member states adopted stance towards a financial transactions tax. The thesis statement suggest that there is a positive correlation between the impact of the financial crisis on each respective EU country, domestic public opinion and a positive stance towards a financial transactions tax in the EU. To test the thesis statement an inductive method, based on academic articles and economic literature, is applied. Furthermore a regression analysis is used to prove the appearance of the expected positive relationships in the thesis statement. The results of the paper indicate the thesis statement to be probable. Therefore, this paper concludes that there is a positive relationship between the impact of the financial crisis in the EU states, domestic opinion and a positive stance to a financial transactions tax.

During the 1960s immigrants were normally called -foreigners- (utlänning) in the Swedish press, and were usually described in a way that would nowadays be considered not only as politically incorrect but also as flagrantly racist and xenophobic. This way of representing immigrants in the Swedish media changed radically at the beginning of 1970s. The word -foreigner- was replaced by -immigrant- in most newspaper articles, and the media started to represent immigrants in a manner that resembles current politically correct media discourse. This paper discusses, first, the reasons for this discursive shift, in the context of the evolution of the Swedish integration and integration policy that was initiated at the end of the 1960s, and, second, the related development of international migration and ethnic relations (IMER) research in Sweden. Finally, the paper presents some reflections on the current state of relations between Swedish integration policy and Swedish IMER research. I HFD 2014 ref 76 ändrar Högsta Förvaltningsdomstolen tidigare instansers domslut och fastställer hur beräkningen av bruttolönen ska göras för utländska arbetstagare med nettolöneavtal, vilka tillämpar 11 kap. 22 § 3 st. Inkomstskattelagen (1999:1229), IL. Vid ett nettolöneavtal kommer arbetstagaren och arbetsgivaren vanligtvis överens om att arbetsgivaren ska stå för arbetstagarens skatt. Eftersom IL utgår från en bruttolönebeskattning krävs att en gross-up görs från nettolönen till en bruttolön, vilket samtliga instanser är eniga om. Enligt HFD ska skattelättnaden på 25 procent som arbetstagaren erhåller enligt 11 kap. 22-23 §§ IL räknas bort, innan bedömning görs om lönen överstiger gränsbeloppet lagen anger. Följden i och med HFD:s dom blir att bruttolönen före hänsyn tagen till skattelättnad måste uppgå till ca 120 000 kr, vilket utgör ett nytt gränsbelopp för arbetstagare med nettolöneavtal. Denna beräkning behöver inte göras när arbetstagaren har ett bruttolöneavtal, utan i dessa fall kan bruttolönen direkt jämföras med gränsbeloppet på 89 000 kr. Varför domstolen gör denna bedömning är oklart, resonemanget till varför den kommer till det domslut den gör är inte utvecklat. Enligt oss kan resonemang föras om domstolen tyckte att nettolöneavtalen utnyttjar lagstiftningen på ett felaktigt sätt, då det är arbetsgivaren som vid nettolöneavtal påverkas när skattelättnad medges, och att en hårdare bedömning ska göras vid dessa typer av avtal. Varför skulle arbetstagare med bruttolöneavtal annars få fortsätta tillämpa basbeloppsregeln utan hänsyn tagen till skattelättnad? Det finns fortfarande flera fördelaktiga metoder utländska arbetstagare med nettolöneavtal kan tillämpa när deras lön inte når upp till gränsbeloppet. Tax rollover är en metod som behandlas i uppsatsen, vilken gör det möjligt att skjuta på beskattningen ett år och arbetstagare kan därigenom göra en nuvärdesvinst och dessutom komma ner i en lägre skiktgräns i vissa fall. En annan fördelaktig metod som kommer beröras är Förskottsmetoden, vilken innebär att Lag (1991:586) om särskild inkomstskatt för utomlands bosatta, SINK, kombineras med expertskattelättnaden i IL och resultatet blir en faktisk beskattning på 15 procent. In HFD 2014 ref. 76 the Supreme Administrative Court (HFD) changes earlier bodies’ verdict and determines how the calculation of the gross salary should be done for foreign workers with net payment agreement, according to Chapter 11, section 22 part 3 IL. Generally at a net salary agreement the employee and the employer agree that the employer will bear the worker’s tax. Since IL is based on gross taxation it is required that a gross-up is mad from net salary to gross salary in which all parties agree. Thereafter, according to HFD, the deduction of tax credit obtained will be calculated in accordance to Chapter 11, sections 22-23 IL, before assessment is made if the salary exceeds the limit provided by law. The consequence of HFD’s ruling is that gross salary need to amount to about 120 000 SEK before tax benefits can be taken into account, which represents a new frontier amount for workers with net pay agreements. This calculation does not need to be made when the employee has a gross salary contract. In these cases the gross salary can be directly compared with the frontier value at 89 000. Why the court make this assessment is unclear and they do not further develop why they come to the judicial decision they make. Most likely, we consider the court found that the net salary agreements utilize the law in a wrong way, since it is the employer that is affected at a net salary agreement when tax benefits are allowed. Further, the Court may suggest that a stricter assessment should be made during these types of agreements. Why else would they let the gross salary agreements continue calculations without considering tax benefits? There are still several advantageous methods employees with net salary agreements that do not reach the limit can apply. One method used in this paper is ‘Tax rollover’ which makes it possible to postpone taxation for a year and can thus make a net present value gain and, in some cases, it can also lower the threshold for the taxation. Another advantageous method that will be discussed is the “Advances method” where SINK is combined with expert tax credit in IL and results in a tax rate of 15%.

Grey water reuse has attracted more and more attention among researchers and professionals in recent years. As most of the Chinese cities are undergoing the process of fast urbanization and economic development, many water-related problems have occurred and urban water resources management has become a strategic issue. The urge to reconsider the conventional ways of utilizing water and discharging the wastewater in cities is calling. As a relatively simple and flexible way, decentralized grey water reuse system can help to make the first step in achieving a sustainable urban water management. However, whether it is feasible in China is still a question. This paper aims at looking for the answer based on a survey and interviews with professionals in the fields from different Chinese cities. The result shows “reuse” as one of the solutions of solving water shortage and achieving sustainable water management is not as simple as one may think. In general, decentralized urban grey water / wastewater reuse is not easy to flourish in China in the near future though most of the respondents hold a positive attitude about reuse itself. To explain this difference between attitude and actual planning we need more historical, political and social-economic understanding with a touch of “Chinese characteristics”.

This paper addresses the socio-economic consequences of the rapid deregulation of the Swedish taxi sector in the early 1990s. The deregulated taxi sector is illustrative of the ethnic labour market segmentation brought about by the evolution of the Swedish model from the universal welfare state, relying on -decommodifying- social policies, towards flexible solutions and related recommodifying labour market policies. We analyse the income, education and ethnic background of those workers for whom the taxi sector was the largest source of income during the period 1990-2004. An important result of our analysis is that since deregulation it has been more usual for foreign-born citizens to become involved in the taxi business, mainly because discriminatory entry barriers have been removed. But our findings also indicate that they have not been integrated in the sector under the same conditions as Swedish-born workers. Although better educated, they derive smaller incomes from the taxi sector than their Swedish-born colleagues. They also receive a higher proportion of social insurance allowances, higher unemployment benefits, and less income from education allowances than the Swedish-born. Altogether, foreign-born workers in the sector have smaller disposable incomes than their Swedish-born counterparts. Compared with the general foreign-born population, however, they have on average fewer social insurance allowances, more unemployment benefits, and less income from education allowances. It seems that an ethnically segmented labour market nevertheless makes it more profitable for the foreign born to work in the taxi sector than in other sectors or to remain unemployed. Finally, our findings show how sectors with deteriorating working conditions on the one hand appear to offer attractive employment opportunities for foreign-born citizens, while on the other hand they have another (un)intended consequence: foreign workers are the most severely affected by the changing relations between the labour market and social policy. Följande översikt bygger på forskningsartiklar där kravaller studerats och analyserats som en kollektiv handling ur ett socialpsykologiskt perspektiv. Själva begreppet kravall lär komma från det tyska ordet krawall som betyder tumult, bråk. Dess ursprungliga betydelse anses oklar. En vanlig innebörd är oroligheter på gator och andra allmänna platser, ofta med sammanstötningar med polis och mindre upplopp som följd (Nationalencyklopedin). Vanligtvis avses en spontan aktion, som utan att vara planerad, snabbt utvecklas till en kollektiv handling (Reicher, 2001). Fenomenet har, under drygt det århundrade det diskuterats, förklarats på olika sätt inom skilda discipliner. Att det kom att problematiseras var förutom det teoriska intresset ett praktiskt behov av att tackla de spontana protestaktioner, som genomfördes av arbetarklassen vid förra sekelskiftet (Reicher, 2001). Frågan var bl a om alla deltagare skulle betraktas som skyldiga eller bara en kriminell kärna av anstiftare (ringleader) som uppviglat de andra. This paper is an overview of psychological theories on riots, from old perspectives to more recent ones. The old theories describe and explain riots in terms of a groupmind, that is, a view in which the participants loose their identity and become a crowd. Theories that are more recent focus on the change of identity instead of deindividuation – from a personal identity to a social identity, or from one social identity to another. The social identity adopted is a result of an intergroup process in which different groups, for example, the police and demonstrators, become each other’s social context.
