8. The influence of seed structures on dormancy in seeds of Urochloa hybrid cultivar ‘Mulato Ⅱ’

This study determined the effects of seed structures on seed dormancy and tested methods to break dormancy in seeds of Urochloa hybrid cultivar ‘Mulato II’. Seeds stored for 10 months in indoor ambient conditions were studied to determine effects of seed structures on seed germination and their water permeability. Results showed that seed structures presented a barrier to water permeability. Removal of lemmas, puncturing the seed coat, seed structure removal and sulfuric acid immersion all reduced seed dormancy. Water and alcohol extracts from different parts of seeds inhibited seed germination of Brassica pekinensis seeds. There were 3 mechanisms responsible for seed dormancy; first, the mechanical barrier of seed structures, which excluded water and reduced gas exchange as well as restricting growth of the embryo; second, an endogenous germination inhibitor mainly found in lemmas; and third, water permeability of the seed coat (including pericarp and testa). The mechanical removal of lemmas and immersion in concentrated sulfuric acid reduced seed dormancy, although mechanical removal of the lemma alone was effective, convenient and safer.

9. Exploring genre variation and simplification in interpreted language from comparable and intermodal perspectives

This article explores genre variation and simplification in interpreted language from both comparable (interpreted vs. non-interpreted/non-mediated) and intermodal (interpreted vs. translated) perspectives. It draws on a newly built unidirectional comparable and intermodal corpus named the LegCo+, which features legislative proceedings in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (including originals and their translations and interpretations from Cantonese to English), as well as original plenary speeches delivered by native English speakers in the UK Parliament. It investigates the variation patterns of four simplification features in three dimensions, namely, standardized type-token ratio (STTR) and list heads for lexical diversity, lexical density for informativeness, and average sentence length for lexical sophistication. It aims to uncover the effects of mediation and genre, as well as their interaction effects on linguistic variation. The results indicate that texts of different mediation statuses and genre categories vary with respect to simplification patterns. From a comparable perspective, interpretations rely on a narrower range of vocabulary than non-interpretations, but they are also more informative, and such informativeness is dependent on genre categories. Intermodally speaking, interpretations exhibit consistent patterns of simplification, indicating a strong modality (or mode of mediation) effect.

10. A Novel Rolling Bearing Fault Diagnosis Method Based on MFO-Optimized VMD and DE-OSELM

Rolling bearings are critical in maintaining smooth operation of rotating machinery and considerably influence its reliability. The signals collected from rolling bearings in field conditions are often subjected to noise, creating a challenge to extract weaker fault features. This paper proposes a rolling bearing fault diagnosis method that addresses the above-mentioned problem through the moth-flame optimization algorithm optimized variational mode decomposition (MFO-optimized VMD) and an ensemble differential evolution online sequential extreme learning machine (DE-OSELM). By using the dynamic adaptive weight factor and genetic algorithm cross operator, the optimization accuracy and global optimization ability of the moth-flame optimization (MFO) are improved, and the two basic parameters of VMD decomposition level and quadratic penalty factor are adaptive selected. Since the vibration characteristics of the signal cannot be fully interpreted by a single index, The effective weighted correlation sparsity index (EWCS) is utilized to extract the relevant intrinsic mode functions (IMF) of VMD decomposition and extract their energies as features. In order to improve the classification accuracy, The energy feature set is subsequently inputted into DE-OSELM for training and classification purposes, and the proposed method is assessed via a sample set with four different health states of actual rolling bearings. Our proposed method results are compared with other diagnosis methods, proving its feasibility to diagnose rolling bearing faults with higher classification accuracy.

Contemporary art is gradually diversifying, and the aesthetics of artists have changed and progressed together with the times. Some brush painters, while inheriting the essence of tradition, continue to summarize and search for a painting language in line with the atmosphere of the times, gradually shifting their perspective to a separate, tiny “corner” of life, recording the painter’s own subtle emotional fluctuations through such “tiny” scenes. The approach models services through a context-aware service model and establishes flexible driving relationships between IoT data and services through context and scenario concepts. Moreover, it reduces the amount of business data to be processed by the system through contextual events. The process of the approach for service development is described, and relevant context-aware service development tools are introduced. Finally, the feasibility of the approach proposed in this article is illustrated by a service development example. An event-triggered sensor node clustering algorithm based on beamforming data transmission technology is proposed, which can improve network energy efficiency and clustering success rate. Meanwhile, a clustering algorithm based on the energy consumption rate of sensor nodes is designed to optimize the task allocation and scheduling of mobile node access, reduce the node charging delay, and enable the sensor nodes in the network to get energy replenishment in a timely and reasonable manner according to their own energy consumption rate demand.

Current evidence has associated caspase activation with the regulation of basic cellular functions without causing apoptosis. Malfunction of non-apoptotic caspase activities may contribute to specific neurological disorders, metabolic diseases, autoimmune conditions and cancers. However, our understanding of non-apoptotic caspase functions remains limited. Here, we show that non-apoptotic caspase activation prevents the intracellular accumulation of the Patched receptor in autophagosomes and the subsequent Patched-dependent induction of autophagy in Drosophila follicular stem cells. These events ultimately sustain Hedgehog signalling and the physiological properties of ovarian somatic stem cells and their progeny under moderate thermal stress. Importantly, our key findings are partially conserved in ovarian somatic cells of human origin. These observations attribute to caspases a pro-survival role under certain cellular conditions.

16. Value of Intravoxel Incoherent Motion (IVIM) Imaging for Differentiation between Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma and Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Efficient noninvasive imaging techniques in the differentiation of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are very important because of their different management and prognosis. Our purpose was to evaluate the difference of parameters extracted from intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) between the two groups and their performance for the differentiation, as well as the significance of perfusion information. IVIM studies (9 b-values) in 41 patients with either ICC or HCC were reviewed retrospectively by two observers. Diffusion coefficient (D), pseudodiffusion coefficient (D ∗ ), perfusion fraction (f), ADC, and the mean percentage of parenchymal enhancement (MPPE) at 30 s after contrast-enhancement were calculated and compared between ICC and HCC. The relationship between D ∗ , f values, and MPPE was evaluated by Spearman’s correlation test. The diagnostic efficacy of all parameters was analyzed by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Interobserver and intraobserver agreements were analyzed. The parameters (D and ADC) of ICC were distinctly higher than those of HCC; whereas the parameters (f and MPPE of arterial phase) were distinctly lower (all false discovery rate [FDR]-corrected P ∗ value of ICC was slightly higher than that of HCC (71.44 vs 69.41) with FDR-corrected P > 0.05. Moreover, the value of parameter D was significantly lower than that of ADC (FDR-corrected P ∗ , f values) and MPPE. Interobserver and intraobserver agreements were excellent or perfect in measurements of all parameters. Parameters derived from IVIM were valuable for distinguishing ICC and HCC. Moreover, the D value showed better diagnostic efficiency for the differential diagnosis than monoexponential fitting-derived ADC value. Meanwhile, the significant correlation between perfusion-related parameters and MPPE demonstrates that specific IVIM metrics may serve as a noninvasive indicator for the vascular perfusion information of ICC and HCC.

17. [Identification of crucial areas of water supply service in Shiyang River Basin based on service flow]

- Abstract
The identification of crucial areas of ecosystem service is of great significance for accurate implementation of sustainable development measures and the improvement of regional ecosystem service. Taking Shiyang River Basin as a research unit, we analyzed the spatio-temporal variations of the provision and consumption of water supply services in 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020. The water supply service flow model was used to quantitatively simulate water supply service flow. The ZONATION model was selected to identify the crucial areas in the Shiyang River Basin in 2020. The results showed that the provision of water supply services in the Shiyang River Basin showed a spatial pattern being high in the south and low in the north from 2005 to 2020, which declined gradually with time. The consumption showed a spatial pattern dominated by cultivated land and industrial land and temporal change with a downward trend in fluctuation. Each year, about 10.8% of water demand gap could be made up by replenishing upstream water resource. In 2020, the crucial areas of water supply service in Shiyang River Basin were 14455 km生态系统服务功能关键区识别对于区域生态系统服务功能提升和可持续发展精准高效施策有重要意义。以石羊河流域为研究单元,在探究2005、2010、2015和2020年水供给服务的供给与使用时空特征的基础上,利用水供给服务流模型模拟得到水供给服务空间流动情况,利用ZONATION模型识别出2020年石羊河流域水供给服务关键区域。结果表明: 2005—2020年,石羊河流域水供给服务的供给表现出南高北低的空间格局与逐步衰退的总体趋势,水资源使用呈现出耕地和工业用地为主导的空间格局和波动下降的变化趋势,流域每年有约10.8%的区域在得到上游水资源补给后需水缺口得以回补。2020年,石羊河流域水供给服务关键区域总面积为14455 km

And the culture of having children is still the main trend in China. But condom prevalence remains low. And the number of AIDS patients and PLHA is still on the rise. It is essential to implement the comprehensive education in China. The LGBT group also needs to form families. It is hoped that the comprehensive sexuality education will increase social tolerance.

19. High-speed rail effects on station area-level business commercial agglomeration: Evidence from 110 stations in China

As a critical transportation infrastructure, high-speed rail (HSR) greatly enhances accessibility and shortens the spatial-temporal distance among cities. It is well documented that HSR significantly impacts regions and cities’ economic development and spatial structure. The proportion and frequency of business passenger trips are increasing yearly, and the demand for “station as the final destination” is becoming more and more prominent. Given the pivotal role of the design and construction of HSR station areas in achieving “station as the final destination,” the study of their development characteristics and patterns has important implications for urban planning. Previous studies have focused extensively on the macro impact of the HSR operation on regional economies, urban industries, and tourism development, whereas only a few were conducted at the station level. Furthermore, the business-commercial agglomeration effects of the HSR operation on the development and construction of station areas have neither been studied nor accurately measured. To fill this gap, we first constructed a panel data set consisting of the point of interest (POI) data, China City Statistical Yearbook data, and the HSR station operation data from 2012 to 2017. Next, we developed difference-in-differences (DID) models to decipher the impact of the HSR operation on the station-level business and commercial agglomeration. The results show that the HSR operation has increased the business-commercial agglomeration index (BCAI), the commercial agglomeration index (BAI), and the business agglomeration index (CAI) by 28.3%, 29%, and 21.3%, respectively. In other words, the HSR operation has significant business-commercial agglomeration effects in the station area, and the agglomeration effect size of business is more extensive than that of commerce. Interestingly, the BCAI grew slowly in the first 3 years after the HSR operation but started to rise much faster from the fourth year, which HSR’s catalytic effects can explain. The results also reveal that the business-commercial agglomeration effects have a clear spatial threshold as the BCAI tends to decrease from 1500 m to 3000 m away from HSR stations. The plausibility of the results has been confirmed by the parallel trend, placebo, and robustness tests.

20. Effects of different sulfur compounds on the distribution characteristics of subcellular lead content in Arabis alpina L .var. parviflora Franch under lead stress

Sulfur plays a vital role in the phytoremediation of lead-contaminated soil. Effects of different sulfur forms (S0, Na2S, Na2SO4) on Pb absorption in hyperaccumulator Arabis alpina L. var. parviflora Franch were studied by soil culture pot experiment. The subcellular sulfur and lead enrichment characteristics in A. alpina were studied by adding sulfur in different forms and concentrations (0, 75, and 150 mg/kg) to Pb-contaminated soil. The results showed that the root and shoot biomass increased by 1.94 times under Na2S and Na2SO4 treatment, and the root-shoot ratio of A. alpine increased 1.62 times under three forms of sulfur treatments, compared with the control. Sulfur content in cell walls and soluble fractions of root and shoot of A. alpine significantly increased 3.35 ~ 5.75 times and decreased 5.85 and 9.28 times in the organelles under Na2SO4 treatment. Meanwhile, Pb content in the root and shoot cell walls of A. alpine significantly increased by 3.54 and 2.75 times, respectively. Pb content in the shoot soluble fraction significantly increased by 3.46 times, and the root organelle and soluble fraction significantly decreased by 2.72 and 2.46 times, respectively, while it significantly reduced by 3.78 times in the shoot organelle. Different forms and concentrations of sulfur had no regularity in the effect of Pb and sulfur content in the subcellular components of A. alpina, but the bioconcentration and translocation factors of A. alpina increased compared with the control. Under different concentrations of Na2SO4, there was a significant positive correlation between the contents of sulfur and Pb in the subcellular components of the root of A. alpina (P A. alpina by strengthening the cell wall fixation and compartmentalization of vacuoles.

22. Morphine and dexamethasone-incorporated cocktail regimen for postoperative pain in patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty: a randomized controlled trial

- Abstract
Background This study was conducted to evaluate the pain-reducing efficacy and safety of morphine and dexamethasone-incorporated cocktail regimen in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methods This study enrolled 213 patients and randomly assigned them to one of three groups. Group I patients were injected with morphine, dexamethasone, bupivacaine, flurbiprofen axetil, and normal saline. Patients in group II were injected with dexamethasone, bupivacaine, flurbiprofen axetil, and normal saline. Patients in control group were administered bupivacaine, flurbiprofen axetil, and normal saline. To compare the pain-controlling efficiency, the visual analog scale (VAS) score, active and passive range of movement (ROM), rescue analgesia use, and 1-min walking distances were recorded and evaluated. Indicators of inflammation include serum C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) levels, and white blood cells count (WBC) were tested and compared. The following side effects were monitored: headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, wound leakage and wound infection. Results Group I patients had the lowest VAS and the highest active and passive ROM. In Group I, the VAS reduced from day one to four, but the ROM increased. Group II patients had a smaller reduction in VAS and a smaller increase in ROM, compared with the patients in control group. Patients in group I required the least rescue analgesia use in the first 48 hours postoperative and demonstrated the best walking abilities on postoperative day 2 and day 4. Indicators of inflammation were similar in all enrolled individuals. Following side effects were not recorded: headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Wound leakage was observed in four patients in group I (two patients) and group II (two patients). No wound infection symptoms were detected. Conclusions Morphine and dexamethasone-incorporated cocktail regimen efficiently reduced postoperative pain in patients undergoing primary TKA. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common and lethal cancers worldwide. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and validate a novel prognostic model for HCC patients.To establish an innovative and valuable prediction model of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) for HCC.Transcriptome and clinical data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were analyzed globally using bioinformatic approaches. We used Cox and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analyses to screen for prognostic lncRNAs, while receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and Kaplan-Meier curve analyses were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the models. Clinical data from our center were used as a validation set.In the training set, a prediction model was established based on the expression of AP000844.2, LINC00942, SRGAP3-AS2, and AC010280.2 Hepatocellular carcinoma patients were divided into 2 groups (high-risk group and low-risk group) according to their risk score, and differences in survival were compared between the groups. The clinical data from our center served as a validation set to re-evaluate the effectiveness of the predictive model. The model had an excellent performance. The area under the curve (AUC) of 3-year survival was 0.771, while for 5-year survival it was 0.741, and the concordance index (C-index) was 0.756 (standard error (SE) = 0.023, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) = 0.620-0.891).The 4-lncRNA combination model is critically important in evaluating the prognosis of HCC. It is an effective independent prognostic factor, although prospective, multi-center studies are needed to validate our findings.

Three-dimensional (3D) adsorption materials have attracted ever-increasing interest as a cost-effective tool to remove antibiotics from water. However, how to effectively enhance the adsorption capacity of the adsorbents is still a great challenge. In this study, a novel method for fabricating 3D porous carbon nanofiber/graphene oxide composite aerogels (PCNF/GOAs) with an adjustable pore structure was developed for antibiotic removal from water using electrospinning-liquid assisted collection technology. By adding poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as a pore-forming agent, the volume of pores corresponding to the tetracycline (TC) size (0.8–2 nm) increased twelve-fold, and the adsorption capacity increased nine-fold. To evaluate the feasibility of PCNF/GOAs as a potential adsorbent for antibiotic removal, batch and fixed-bed experiments were conducted. The results showed that PCNF/GOAs effectively removed TC from water over a wide pH range (4–10), and the maximum adsorption capacity was more than 900 mg g−1 at pH 7. The experimental data for the adsorption of TC onto PCNF/GOAs better fitted the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Temkin models. Due to its self-supporting characteristic, 3D PCNF/GOAs generated lower inlet pressure compared to traditional particle adsorbents in fixed-bed column adsorption. π–π electro-donor–acceptor (EDA) interaction, pore filling and hydrogen bonding are the main possible mechanisms for the adsorption of TC on PCNF/GOAs.

The combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy (chemoradiotherapy) is a promising strategy, extensively studied and applied clinically. Meanwhile, radiosensitizers play an important role in improving clinical radiotherapy therapeutic efficacy. There are still some disadvantages in practical applications, because radiosensitizers and drugs are difficult to deliver spatio-temporally to tumor sites and work simultaneously with low efficiency for DNA damage and repair inhibition, leading to an inferior synergistic effect. Herein, a suitable radiosensitizer of nano-enabled coordination platform (NP@PVP) with bismuth nitrate and cisplatin prodrug is developed by a simple synthetic route to improve the effectiveness of chemo-radiation synergistic therapy. When NP@PVP is internalized by a tumor cell, the bismuth in NP@PVP can sensitize radiation therapy (RT) by increasing the amount of reactive oxygen species generation to enhance DNA damage after X-ray radiation; meanwhile, the cisplatin in NP@PVP can inhibit DNA damage repair with spatio-temporal synchronization. NP@PVP is demonstrated to exhibit higher sensitization enhancement ratio (SER) of 2.29 and excellent tumor ablation capability upon irradiation in vivo in comparison with cisplatin (SER of 1.78). Our strategy demonstrates that the RT sensitization effect of bismuth and cisplatin based NP@PVP has great anticancer potential in chemo-radiation synergistic therapy, which is promising for clinical application.

The T700/HT280 composites were subjected to vacuum thermal cycling (-140-180℃,10-3 Pa). The mass loss rate, dynamic mechanical properties and low-speed impact of composites were tested before and after vacuum thermal cycling respectively. The visual observation, ultrasonic C-scan and finite element (FE) analysis were used to analyze, characterize and simulate the low-speed impact damage. The results show that the mass loss rates of T700/HT280 composites and matrix resin are increased rapidly and then level off with the increase of the number of vacuum thermal cycles, which is due to the gassing effect. After the vacuum thermal cycle treatment, T700/HT280 composites show some degree of post-cure, thermal aging and partial interface debonding. The main damage mode at low impact energy is that the matrix resin is compressed. However, matrix cracking and delamination are deemed as the damage mode at high impact energy. The FE simulation results are consistent with the experimental results. As the impact energy increases, the absorption energy of the composites is increased. Under the condition of 30-40 J impact energy, the absorption energy can effectively characterize the environmental damage effects of vacuum thermal cycle on composites.

The study explored the Sb toxicity by investigating the impacts of 10% and 20% effective concentrations (EC10 and EC20, respectively) of Sb on the inhibition of barley root elongation in 21 Chinese soils with a wide range of physicochemical properties after aging for 3 months. The results demonstrated that various soil properties profoundly influenced the Sb toxicity which was ranged from 201–2506 mg Sb kg−1 to 323–2973 mg Sb kg−1 under EC10 and EC20, respectively. Soil sand fraction was a significant soil factor responsible for elevating Sb bioavailability. The bioavailable Sb concentration accounted for 2.08%–11.94% of total Sb content in all 21 soil samples and the decreased Sb bioavailability in this study was attributed to soil properties including soil clay fraction, amorphous and crystalloid iron, and oxides of manganese and aluminum. The findings would contribute in developing Sb toxicity threshold for establishing standard for Sb regulation in crop production.

The enhancement of chopped fiber as a reinforcing agent on the welding interface of composite materials was explored. Glass fiber reinforced polyetherimide (GF/PEI) laminate was joined using the pulse resistance welding technology, using a stainless steel (SS) mesh as the heating element. A single lap shear test was performed on the weldments of aramid fiber (AF), glass fiber (GF), and carbon fiber (CF) as reinforcing agents to evaluate the strength of the welded joint. The results show that the fiber achieves the welding interface strengthening by cooperating with the SS mesh heating element to contribute to the mechanical properties of the welded joint. Fracture analysis shows that under the reinforcement of fiber, the main failure mode in the initial stage of welding is fiber and matrix debonding. When the strength of the weldment achieves the best, the failure mode is changed into the simultaneous tearing of SS mesh heating element and fiber tear.

39. Visibility of Chinese ad hoc medical interpreters through text ownership: A case study

Professional interpreters’ visibility in the European context has been widely discussed in the field of community interpreting, but the visibility of untrained ad hoc interpreters in non-European contexts such as China has received little academic attention. By adopting the concept of “text ownership” proposed by Angelelli (2004a), this study examines Chinese ad hoc interpreters’ manifestations of visibility in an authentic medical setting. Based on field observations, audio recordings and interviews, the study reports on four types of visibility demonstrated by ad hoc interpreters: (a) replacing the interlocutor; (b) expressing affect towards a patient; (c) exploring answers; and (d) brokering comprehension. Other forms of visibility are also identified, such as omissions of doctors’ or patients’ remarks and small talk between doctor and interpreter. Interpreters’ deeply held views on social factors as well as the institutional and social norms they have been exposed to are believed to influence their manipulation of medical discourses. This study concludes that in a context where professional medical interpreting services are unavailable, ad hoc interpreters may act as linguistic facilitators by taking on various roles that go beyond mere interpreting. However, their excessive visibility may give rise to potential clinical risks, especially when direct doctor–patient communication is compromised. Attention is drawn to the importance of proper training as well as to the need for the professionalization of medical interpreting in China.

Xanthohumol, a natural isoflavone from Humulus lupulus L., possesses biological activities. However, the biological fate of xanthohumol in vivo remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the absorption and metabolism of xanthohumol in rats through UPLC-MS/MS. The plasma, urine and fecal samples were collected after oral administration of xanthohumol (25, 50, 100 mg/kg) in SD rats. The contents of xanthohumol and its metabolites were determined by UPLC-MS/MS. A total of 6 metabolites of xanthohumol were identified in rats, including methylated, glucuronidated, acid-catalyzed cyclization and oxidation, indicating xanthohumol underwent phase I and II metabolism. This study evaluates the diagnostic performance of Doppler ultrasound in diagnosing fetal anemia. Data were taken from relevant study reports published in peer-reviewed journals identified after a literature search in electronic databases. Random effects meta-analyses were performed by pooling the effect sizes of diagnostic indices (sensitivity, specificity, positive/negative predictive values, and false-positive rate) or correlation coefficients reported by individual studies. As a result, 31 studies (1848 pregnancies; gestation age, 28.25 weeks [95% confidence interval {CI}, 26.87-29.63]) were included in the meta-analysis. Anemia was found in 63.7% (95% CI, 49.7-77.7) fetuses, and severe anemia was found in 36.7% (95% CI, 26.9-46.4) fetuses. Sensitivity and specificity of Doppler ultrasound for detecting fetal anemia in alloimmunized fetuses at middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity cutoff of 1.5 multiple of median for gestation age were 83.42% (95% CI, 71.75-95.09) and 80.30% (95% CI, 73.58-87.02), respectively. Positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and false-positive rate were 76.35% (95% CI, 65.98-86.72), 80.0% (95% CI, 76.63-83.37), and 10.4% (95% CI, 5.9-14.9), respectively. Correlation coefficient between hematological anemia and Doppler ultrasound-measured blood flow velocity was -0.706 (95% CI, -0.765 to -0.635; P < 0.00001). In conclusion, Doppler ultrasound-measured middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity at 1.5 multiple of median provides good diagnostic strength for the detection of alloimmunized fetal anemia. A strong correlation between Doppler velocimetric measures and hematological anemia is also observed.

The material behavior of glass fiber reinforced aluminum laminates (GLARE) under low-speed impact of a falling hammer was studied, and a finite element model of ABAQUS for simulation and experimental verification was built. According to the characteristics of fiber metal matrix materials, the continuous damage mechanics (CDM) model was adopted, and the impact energy values of the falling hammer were set as 6.22 J, 12.38 J and 14.46 J respectively. The corresponding boundary conditions and loads of the model in ABAQUS were confirmed to obtain the velocity-time curve and energy loss curve of the falling direction of the falling hammer. The cohesive layer between metal layer and composite layer was taken into consideration, and the ‘Cohesive Layer’ in ABAQUS was adopted to bond metal layer and composite material layer. The tensile and compressive damage states of fibers and matrix in simulation were observed and compared with the experimental results. The results show that the finite element simulation can accurately simulate the crack and bulge effect on the back of GLARE laminates after the impact, as well as the damage situation of the matrix and fiber, so as to well predict the internal damage of the composite material.

The combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy (chemoradiotherapy) is a promising strategy, extensively studied and applied clinically. Meanwhile, radiosensitizers play an important role in improving clinical radiotherapy therapeutic efficacy. There are still some disadvantages in practical applications, because radiosensitizers and drugs are difficult to deliver spatio-temporally to tumor sites and work simultaneously with low efficiency for DNA damage and repair inhibition, leading to an inferior synergistic effect. Herein, a suitable radiosensitizer of nano-enabled coordination platform (NP@PVP) with bismuth nitrate and cisplatin prodrug is developed by a simple synthetic route to improve the effectiveness of chemo-radiation synergistic therapy. When NP@PVP is internalized by a tumor cell, the bismuth in NP@PVP can sensitize radiation therapy (RT) by increasing the amount of reactive oxygen species generation to enhance DNA damage after X-ray radiation; meanwhile, the cisplatin in NP@PVP can inhibit DNA damage repair with spatio-temporal synchronization. NP@PVP is demonstrated to exhibit higher sensitization enhancement ratio (SER) of 2.29 and excellent tumor ablation capability upon irradiation in vivo in comparison with cisplatin (SER of 1.78). Our strategy demonstrates that the RT sensitization effect of bismuth and cisplatin based NP@PVP has great anticancer potential in chemo-radiation synergistic therapy, which is promising for clinical application.

Double Skin Facades (DSFs) have the advantages of heat preservation, heat insulation, noise reduction and energy saving. Therefore, DSFs are gradually developing into a new direction of environmental protection and energy saving of the curtain wall. This article mainly introduces the technical characteristics of DSFs from two aspects: the geometric structures of the hot aisles and the ventilation modes. And this article systematically reviews more than twenty articles which have dealt with the energy performances: thermal performances and ventilation performances. The paper finishes with some conclusions: The unique structure of DSFs makes DSFs outstanding in terms of energy saving, ventilation. However, DSFs also have some shortcomings: the initial investment and maintenance costs are relatively high, the fire protection design is relatively difficult, and the industry lacks industry standards. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the overall energy-saving effect in advance, continue to in-depth optimization research on the engineering application value of DSFs, and ultimately bring good social and economic benefits.
