Der Beitrag gibt eine Übersicht und Einführung zur wissenschaftlichen Datenanalyse mit Python. Im Fokus stehen Datenvisualisierung, sowie deskriptive und inferenzstatistische Verfahren anhand verschiedender Python-Module. Zusätzlich stehen begleitende Lernmaterialien (Jupyter Notebooks) zur selbständigen Vertiefung zur Verfügung. Es werden keine Vorkenntnisse von Programmierung oder Statistik benötigt, besonders Anfänger*innen sind willkommen. Hinweis: Zur Verfügung gestellt werden hier die Präsentation des Vortrags sowie begleitende Jupyter Notebooks, die gerne zur eigenständigen Vertiefung genutzt werden können. Die dreitägige HeFDI Data Week ermöglicht es Forschenden, Lehrenden und allen weiteren Interessierten, Themen und Angebote des Forschungsdatenmanagements kennenzulernen und zu erproben. Darüber hinaus werden den Teilnehmenden Daten- und Coding-Kompetenzen vermittelt sowie Dienste und Angebote verschiedener hessischer Infrastruktur-Einrichtungen und Zentren vorgestellt., Die HeFDI Data Week ist ein Angebot der Landesinitiative HeFDI - Hessische Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen, welche vom Hessischen Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst (HMWK) finanziert wird.

Die gegenwärtige Situation Promovierender ist auch Gegenstand des Beitrags. Die Autor*innen zeigen auf Basis der Promovierendenstatistik des Statistischen Bundesamtes von 2019 und 2021 strukturelle Probleme und Herausforderungen von Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern in Qualifizierungsphasen auf und gehen dabei auch auf Kontext, Betreuung und Finanzierung der Promotion ein. Unter anderem stellen sie als charakteristisch für aktuelle Promotionsbedingungen im Fach Erziehungswissenschaft heraus, dass wenige strukturierte Programme existieren und die Betreuung selten auf mehreren Schultern verteilt werde. (DIPF/Orig.) 40 years after Kuckartz and Lenzen (1986) documented a catastrophic situation for scientists in the qualification phases, there are current data from the National Academics Panel Study (Nacaps) on PhDs in Germany in the field of educational science. The results show that despite a slight increase in the number of PhDs, there has been no improvement. PhD times are longer than average, qualification mainly takes place in temporary (part-time) positions, and educational science has the lowest number of PhDs in structured programs. In addition, it occupies the top position in a comparison of subjects for dropout thoughts and discontinuations of doctoral projects. Thus, there is a need for action on the part of the discipline in several respects. (DIPF/Orig.)

Diese Arbeit behandelt die statistische Auswertung von den möglichen Tumormarkern CA 19-9 in Blutproben, LYVE1, TFF1, REG1A, REG1B und Kreatinin in Urinproben für Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebs. Unterschieden wurde zwischen den Diagnosegruppen Kontrolle (Negativ Kontrolle), gutartige hepatobiliäre Erkrankung und Pankreaskarzinom. Zusätzlich wurden innerhalb dieser Gruppen getestet, ob es eine mögliche Signifikanz zwischen dem Geschlecht und Altersgruppen der Proben gibt. Die Ergebnisse nach der Auswertung lassen aussagen, dass die Tumormarker, LYVE1, TFF1, REG1A und REG1B im Vergleich zur Kontrolle erhöht sind und sich diese statistisch als Marker eignen würden. Bei den Pankreaskarzinom Proben konnte man unterschiedliche Werte von LYVE1, Kreatinine und CA-19-9 zwischen den jüngeren Teilnehmer und den älteren Teilnehmer in dieser Studie statistisch bestimmen. Das Geschlecht könnte eine relevante Rolle bei Pankreaskarzinom spielen, worauf aber in dieser Studie nicht näher eingegangen wurde. This paper deals with the statistical evaluation of the possible tumor markers CA 19-9 in blood samples, LYVE1, TFF1, REG1A, REG1B and creatinine in urine samples for pancreatic cancer.Distinctions were made between the diagnostic groups of control (negative control), benign hepatobiliary disease, and pancreatic cancer. In addition, within these groups were tested whether there is a possible significance between the sex and age groups of the samples. The results after evaluation suggest that the cancer markers, LYVE1, TFF1, REG1A and REG1B are elevated compared to control and these would be statistically suitable as markers. In the pancreatic cancer samples, different levels of LYVE1, creatinine and CA-19-9 could be statistically determined between the younger participants and the older participants in this study. Gender might play a relevant role in pancreatic cancer, which was not addressed in this study.

Background Efficient breeding programs are difficult to implement in honeybees due to their biological specificities (polyandry and haplo-diploidy) and complexity of the traits of interest, with performances being measured at the colony scale and resulting from the joint effects of tens of thousands of workers (called direct effects) and of the queen (called maternal effects). We implemented a Monte Carlo simulation program of a breeding plan designed specifically for Apis mellifera’s populations to assess the impact of polyandry versus monoandry on colony performance, inbreeding level and genetic gain depending on the individual selection strategy considered, i.e. complete mass selection or within-family (maternal lines) selection. We simulated several scenarios with different parameter setups by varying initial genetic variances and correlations between direct and maternal effects, the selection strategy and the polyandry level. Selection was performed on colony phenotypes. Results All scenarios showed strong increases in direct breeding values of queens after 20 years of selection. Monoandry led to significantly higher direct than maternal genetic gains, especially when a negative correlation between direct and maternal effects was simulated. However, the relative increase in these genetic gains depended also on their initial genetic variability and on the selection strategy. When polyandry was simulated, the results were very similar with either 8 or 16 drones mated to each queen. Across scenarios, polyandrous mating resulted in equivalent or higher gains in performance than monoandrous mating, but with considerably lower inbreeding rates. Mass selection conferred a ~ 20% increase in performance compared to within-family selection, but was also accompanied by a strong increase in inbreeding levels (25 to 50% higher). Conclusions Our study is the first to compare the long-term effects of polyandrous versus monoandrous mating in honeybee breeding. The latter is an emergent strategy to improve specific traits, such as resistance to varroa, which can be difficult or expensive to phenotype. However, if used during several generations in a closed population, monoandrous mating increases the inbreeding level of queens much more than polyandrous mating, which is a strong limitation of this strategy.

Digital learning and teaching have become significantly more relevant for training, specialist training and advanced training because of the requirements during the Corona pandemic. This also applies to higher education. As a digital healthcare service provider, Thieme supports information and communication processes in medicine and related health and natural sciences for the benefit of young medical professionals, among others. In this article, we introduce via medici. Thiemes digital learning and teaching portal offers students and lecturers professionally tailored and practical content for all phases within medical studies: starting with the introduction to medical content in the pre-clinical and clinical phase, followed by practice-oriented knowledge and completed with hands-on preparation for the major state examinations using the original IMPP questions. Students can display the content in via medici in accordance with their university’s curriculum, among other things, and thus study in a focused manner throughout the term. Lecturers have the possibility to compile medical content from via medici for their students to prepare for or to follow up on courses and to combine it with their own teaching materials and other external content. via medici is thus more and more becoming an individual learning and teaching environment for universities. Thieme is increasingly focusing on the (further) development of digital products, offerings and solutions. In addition, traditional teaching media will continue to play an important role in the Thieme Group’s portfolio., Digitales Lernen und Lehren hat mit den Anforderungen während der Corona-Pandemie noch einmal deutlich an Relevanz für die Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung gewonnen – auch im Hochschulbereich. Als digitaler Gesundheitsdienstleister unterstützt Thieme Informations- und Kommunikationsprozesse in Medizin und angrenzenden Gesundheits- und Naturwissenschaften. Davon profitiert unter anderem auch der medizinische Nachwuchs. Studierende können die Inhalte in via medici unter anderem nach dem Curriculum ihrer Universität anzeigen lassen und so gezielt semesterbegleitend lernen. Dozierende haben die Möglichkeit, medizinische Fachinhalte für ihre Studierenden zur Vor- oder Nachbereitung von Lehrveranstaltungen in via medici zusammenzustellen und sie mit eigenen Lehrmaterialien und anderen externen Inhalten zu kombinieren. via medici wird damit zur individuellen Lern- und Lehrumgebung für Universitäten. Thieme konzentriert sich zunehmend auf die (Weiter)-Entwicklung digitaler Produkte, Angebote und Lösungen. Daneben werden die klassischen Lehrmedien weiterhin einen hohen Stellenwert im Portfolio der Thieme Gruppe behalten.

Background Residual feed intake (RFI) is one measure of feed efficiency, which is usually obtained by multiple regression of feed intake (FI) on measures of production, body weight gain and tissue composition. If phenotypic regression is used, the resulting RFI is generally not genetically independent of production traits, whereas if RFI is computed using genetic regression coefficients, RFI and production traits are independent at the genetic level. The corresponding regression coefficients can be easily derived from the result of a multiple trait model that includes FI and production traits. However, this approach is difficult to apply in the case of multiple repeated measurements of FI and production traits. To overcome this difficulty, we used a structured antedependence approach to account for the longitudinality of the data with a phenotypic regression model or with different genetic and environmental regression coefficients [multi- structured antedependence model (SAD) regression model]. Results After demonstrating the properties of RFI obtained by the multi-SAD regression model, we applied the two models to FI and production traits that were recorded for 2435 French Large White pigs over a 10-week period. Heritability estimates were moderate with both models. With the multi-SAD regression model, heritability estimates were quite stable over time, ranging from 0.14 ± 0.04 to 0.16 ± 0.05, while heritability estimates showed a U-shaped profile with the phenotypic regression model (ranging from 0.19 ± 0.06 to 0.28 ± 0.06). Estimates of genetic correlations between RFI at different time points followed the same pattern for the two models but higher estimates were obtained with the phenotypic regression model. Estimates of breeding values that can be used for selection were obtained by eigen-decomposition of the genetic covariance matrix. Correlations between these estimated breeding values obtained with the two models ranged from 0.66 to 0.83. Conclusions The multi-SAD model is preferred for the genetic analysis of longitudinal RFI because, compared to the phenotypic regression model, it provides RFI that are genetically independent of production traits at all time points. Furthermore, it can be applied even when production records are missing at certain time points.

However, there are several methodologies to compute these matrices and there is still an unresolved debate on which one provides the best estimate of inbreeding. In this study, we investigated measures of inbreeding obtained from five genomic matrices, including the Nejati-Javaremi allelic relationship matrix (FNEJ), the Li and Horvitz matrix based on excess of homozygosity (FL&H), and the VanRaden (methods 1, FVR1, and 2, FVR2) and Yang (FYAN) genomic relationship matrices. The structural quality of laboratory diagnostic services on a national level is of great relevance for medical care as a whole. In order to be able to identify longitudinal trends, the aim of the present study was to obtain basic statistical data on laboratory diagnostic care in the inpatient and outpatient sectors in Germany from publicly available sources and to evaluate them in a synopsis. Data material from the German Medical Association, the Federal Statistical Office, the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Barmer Ersatzkasse proved to be particularly valuable. Important findings included the fact that specialists in laboratory medicine or microbiology make up about 0.5% of the entire German medical profession. This is in striking contrast to data from the Barmer Ersatzkassen, according to which in 2019 there were an average of 863 consultations of laboratory physicians per year for every 1,000 insured persons. Laboratory services account for around 2.7% of healthcare costs in Germany. The results show that fundamental aspects of laboratory medical care research can already be addressed on the basis of publicly available data., Die Strukturqualität der Versorgung mit labordiagnostischen Leistungen auf nationaler Ebene ist von großer Relevanz für die medizinische Versorgung insgesamt. Um longitudinale Tendenzen erkennen zu können, war es Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung, statistische Basisdaten zur labordiagnostischen Versorgung im stationären und ambulanten Sektor in Deutschland anhand öffentlich zugänglicher Quellen zu erheben und in der Zusammenschau auszuwerten. Als besonders wertvoll erwies sich Datenmaterial der Bundesärztekammer, des Statistischen Bundesamtes, der Kassenärztlichen Bundesvereinigung und der Barmer Ersatzkasse. Wichtige Befunde waren unter anderem, dass der Anteil von Fachärzten für Laboratoriumsmedizin bzw. Mikrobiologie etwa 0,5% der gesamten deutschen Ärzteschaft ausmachen. Dies steht in erstaunlichem Kontrast zu Daten der Barmer Ersatzkassen, wonach 2019 auf 1.000 Versicherte durchschnittlich 863 Konsultationen von Laborärzten pro Jahr kamen. Der Anteil der Laborleistungen an den Gesundheitskosten in Deutschland liegt bei etwa 2,7%. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass bereits auf Basis öffentlich zugänglicher Daten grundlegende Aspekte der labormedizinischen Versorgungsforschung adressiert werden können.

BackgroundOver the past decade, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy has been used to predict novel milk protein phenotypes. Genomic data might help predict these phenotypes when integrated with milk FTIR spectra. The objective of this study was to investigate prediction accuracy for milk protein phenotypes when heterogeneous on-farm, genomic, and pedigree data were integrated with the spectra. To this end, we used the records of 966 Italian Brown Swiss cows with milk FTIR spectra, on-farm information, medium-density genetic markers, and pedigree data. True and total whey protein, and five casein, and two whey protein traits were analyzed. Multiple kernel learning constructed from spectral and genomic (pedigree) relationship matrices and multilayer BayesB assigning separate priors for FTIR and markers were benchmarked against a baseline partial least squares (PLS) regression. Seven combinations of covariates were considered, and their predictive abilities were evaluated by repeated random sub-sampling and herd cross-validations (CV).ResultsAddition of the on-farm effects such as herd, days in milk, and parity to spectral data improved predictions as compared to those obtained using the spectra alone. Integrating genomics and/or the top three markers with a large effect further enhanced the predictions. Pedigree data also improved prediction, but to a lesser extent than genomic data. Multiple kernel learning and multilayer BayesB increased predictive performance, whereas PLS did not. Overall, multilayer BayesB provided better predictions than multiple kernel learning, and lower prediction performance was observed in herd CV compared to repeated random sub-sampling CV.ConclusionsIntegration of genomic information with milk FTIR spectral can enhance milk protein trait predictions by 25% and 7% on average for repeated random sub-sampling and herd CV, respectively. Multiple kernel learning and multilayer BayesB outperformed PLS when used to integrate heterogeneous data for phenotypic predictions.

A necessary condition to improve this trait through selective breeding is the existence of genetic variability for the environmental variance of body weight. Although several studies have reported such variability in other aquaculture species, to our knowledge, no estimates are available for shrimp. Our aim in this study was to estimate the genetic variance for weight uniformity in a farmed population of shrimp to determine the potential of including this trait in the selection program. The aim of this study was to determine the factor structure of Chen and Starost’s self-descriptive scale of intercultural sensitivity. The applied scale was based on the self-assessments of 24attitudes with a five-point Likert scale. A group examination was performed on 621 students in the final grades of primary school. Factor analysis isolated five factors that include students’ intercultural sensitivity: interaction enjoyment, interaction confidence, interaction attentiveness, respect of cultural differences, and interaction engagement. The scale is solidly represented by the main components that explain the variance with 49.18% of the examined phenomenon. The reliability coefficient of the scale on our sample is acceptable and amounts to α=0.820. The fall of imperial authority and the decline of the Byzantine state at the end of the 12th century has its cause not only in foreign policy but also, to a large extent, in the family policy of the Komnenoi emperors. The “clan” system introduced during Alexios I’ reign and continued by his successors, connected the aristocratic elites with the imperial family by blood ties. In the 12th century, the composition of this group, linked by a complicated marriage network, underwent a significant transformation, which could be one of the most important factors of the later crisis. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First: distinguishing two groups of aristocrats within the Komnenos “clan” i.e. “core” Komnenos family and affine families. Second: determining their approximate numer during the 12th century. Relatively large amount of data about aristocratic elites of that period allows for statistical approach. Written sources and sigillography of the 12th century Byzantium is rich in information about high ranking persons. In addition, the Komnenos era has been thoroughly described in prosopographical works. This allows for counting the number of aristocrats and thus obtaining reliable results. Such an approach is not free from estimation and probability. However, the amount of information is sufficient enough to show the overall trends visible in the composition of the elites associated with the Komnenoi. The result of this study is a table that shows the tendency of the weakening of the Komnenos family in face of a constantly growing group of affine aristocratic families. This sheds a new light on the progressive collapse of the imperial authority after the death of Manuel I Komnenos, the key role of destructive actions of Andronikos I, and the weakness of the Angelos dynasty.

Background Most genomic predictions use a unique population that is split into a training and a validation set. However, genomic prediction using genetically heterogeneous training sets could provide more flexibility when constructing the training sets in small populations. The aim of our study was to investigate the potential of genomic prediction of feed efficiency related traits using training sets that combine animals from two different, but genetically-related lines. We compared realized prediction accuracy and prediction bias for different training set compositions for five production traits. Results Genomic breeding values (GEBV) were predicted using the single-step genomic best linear unbiased prediction method in six scenarios applied iteratively to two genetically-related lines (i.e. 12 scenarios). The objective for all scenarios was to predict GEBV of pigs in the last three generations (~ 400 pigs, G7 to G9) of a given line. For each line, a control scenario was set up with a training set that included only animals from that line (target line). For all traits, adding more animals from the other line to the training set did not increase prediction accuracy compared to the control scenario. A small decrease in prediction accuracies was found for average daily gain, backfat thickness, and daily feed intake as the number of animals from the target line decreased in the training set. Including more animals from the other line did not decrease prediction accuracy for feed conversion ratio and residual feed intake, which were both highly affected by selection within lines. However, prediction biases were systematic for these cases and might be reduced with bivariate analyses. Conclusions Our results show that genomic prediction using a training set that includes animals from genetically-related lines can be as accurate as genomic prediction using a training set from the target population. With combined reference sets, accuracy increased for traits that were highly affected by selection. Our results provide insights into the design of reference populations, especially to initiate genomic selection in small-sized lines, for which the number of historical samples is small and that are developed simultaneously. This applies especially to poultry and pig breeding and to other crossbreeding schemes.

Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Europ��isierung der Statistik im Rahmen der Europ��ischen Gemeinschaft f��r Kohle und Stahl (EGKS), der Europ��ischen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft (EWG) sowie der Europ��ischen Gemeinschaften (EG) seit den 1950ern bis in die 1970er-Jahre hinein. Die Genese und Entwicklung statistischer Verfahrensweisen im supranationalen Rahmen l��sst sich jedoch nicht ohne den vorgelagerten und sie begleitenden Prozess des internationalen statistischen Vergleichs verstehen. Denn seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg setzten auch die internationalen Organisationen verst��rkt auf regionale statistische Vergleiche, wobei Europa hier eine zentrale Rolle einnahm. Von den in diesen Institutionen gemachten Erfahrungen profitierten die Europ��ischen Gemeinschaften einerseits, versuchten sich jedoch auch stets von ihnen abzugrenzen. Mit Blick auf die International Labour Organization (ILO), der Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) sowie der Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) analysiert die Arbeit folglich, inwiefern die EG-Institutionen tats��chlich einen statistischen ���Sonderweg��� gingen oder ihre Arbeit nicht doch vielmehr in eine Linie mit den internationalen statistischen Vergleichen zu sehen ist. Ausgangspunkt aller internationalen und europ��ischen statistischen Harmonisierungsvorhaben waren unterdessen die nationalen statistischen ��mter (NS��). Wie die EG-Institutionen mit ihnen in langwierige Aushandlungsprozesse gingen, wird vor allem mit Blick auf Deutschland als Fallbeispiel analysiert. Mit dieser Herangehensweise verfolgt die Arbeit gleichzeitig das Anliegen, die Statistiken auf ihre Funktion als Sinnproduzenten zu befragen und macht diesen Ansatz somit f��r die Geschichte der europ��ischen Integration fruchtbar. Die Darstellungen gehen damit ��ber eine reine Institutionengeschichte deutlich hinaus. Methodisch verfolgt die Arbeit einen akteurszentrierten Institutionalismus, der kulturgeschichtlich und diskursanalytisch erg��nzt wird., This paper examines the europeanization of statistics within the framework of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the European Economic Community (EEC), and the European Communities (EC) from the 1950s to the 1970s. However, the genesis and development of statistical practices in the supranational framework cannot be understood without the preceding and accompanying process of international statistical comparison. After all, since World War II, international organizations have also increasingly relied on regional statistical comparisons, with Europe playing a central role here. On the one hand, the European Communities profited from the experience gained in these institutions, but on the other hand, they always tried to distinguish themselves from them. With a view to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) and the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), the thesis analyzes to what extent the EC institutions actually took a statistical "special path" or whether their work should rather be seen in line with international statistical comparisons. Meanwhile, the starting point for all international and European statistical harmonization projects was the national statistical institutes (NSIs). How the EC institutions entered into protracted negotiation processes with them is analyzed with Germany in particular as a case study. With this approach, the work pursues the concern of questioning statistics with regard to their function as producers of meaning and thus makes this approach fruitful for the history of European integration. Thus, the analysis clearly goes beyond a mere institutional history. Methodologically, the work follows an actor-centered institutionalism, which is complemented by cultural history and discourse analysis.

In dieser Arbeit werden Stornierungen von Hotelbuchungen mithilfe verschiedener Methoden maschinellen Lernens vorhergesagt. Buchungsstornierungen stellen f��r die Hotelindustrie ein Problem dar, da sie die Planbarkeit von Einnahmen und Kosten stark erschweren. Unter Verwendung von logistischen Regressionen, Random Forests und k��nstlichen neuronalen Netzen werden Modelle erstellt, die diese Stornierungen vorhersagen sollen. Diese verschiedenen Modelle werden anschlie��end miteinander verglichen, um die effektivste Methode zu finden. Vorhersagemodelle k��nnten bestehende Probleme, die durch Stornierungen entstehen, l��sen, in dem Ma��nahmen wie ��berbuchungen effektiver eingesetzt werden k��nnten. Bei der Analyse wird ein Datensatz, der von zwei portugiesischen Hotels stammt, mit fast 120.000 realen Beobachtungen und 31 Variablen zu Hilfe genommen., The aim of this thesis is to predict hotel booking cancellations with different machine learning methods. Hotel booking cancellations are a problem for hotels, because they diminish revenue and make it harder to plan future income. Using logistic regressions, Random Forests and artificial neural networks different prediction models are computed. The models are being compared to eachother to find the most effective method. These models could solve existing problems caused by cancellation, because measures such as overbooking could be used more efficiently. The analysis is based on a real dataset from two portuguese hotels and has almost 120,000 observations and 31 variables.

Historische Bildungsforschung hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu einem Forschungs- und Arbeitsgebiet entwickelt, das in seinen Themen, Methoden und theoretischen Bezügen vielseitig aufgestellt und interdisziplinär anschlussfähig ist. Auch Methoden, Arbeitstechniken und Tools der Digital Humanities, die viele Bereiche der Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften heute beeinflussen, finden dort bereits in vielfältiger Weise Anwendung. Dies zeigt der vorliegende Band anhand konkreter Beispiele aus aktuellen Forschungsprojekten und Arbeitsgruppen mit Bezug zur historischen Bildungsforschung. Zum Schulerfolg von Gefl��chteten liegen bisher kaum quantitative Ergebnisse vor. Vorgestellt wird ein sekund��ranalytischer Ansatz, den Schulerfolg von Gefl��chteten basierend auf Daten des Ausl��nderzentralregisters und der Schulstatistik n��herungsweise zu untersuchen. Eine exemplarische Analyse f��r das Bundesland Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) zeigt auf, dass Gefl��chtete im Vergleich zu Nichtgefl��chteten einen erheblich geringeren Schulerfolg aufweisen. Berlin : Rat für Migration e.V. 2022, 15 S. - (RfM-Debatte; 2022), Kommentiert wird die aktuelle Debatte hinsichtlich der Messung von Migration – wonach etwa vorgeschlagen wird, nicht mehr den ‚Migrationshintergrund‘, sondern ausschließlich ‚Eingewanderte‘ zu erfassen, insbesondere jedoch solle der ‚Migrationshintergrund‘ durch die Erhebung von subjektiver Selbstwahrnehmung und selbstwahrgenommener Fremdzuschreibung ersetzt werden. Der Beitrag diskutiert u.a. die zentrale Frage, ob die Messung des ‚Migrationshintergrundes‘ obsolet wird und welche Konsequenzen mit dessen Nicht-Erhebung u.a. für verschiedene Statistiken und Studien verbunden wären. In diesem Zusammenhang wird knapp auf die Funktion des Konstrukts ‚Migrationshintergrund‘ eingegangen und es werden Vorschläge hinsichtlich der Operationalisierung und zu möglichen Alternativbegriffen gemacht. Mobilfunkdaten gelten als vielversprechende Datenquelle, ihre Qualität im Hinblick auf den Einsatz in der amtlichen Statistik ist jedoch bisher nicht systematisch untersucht worden. Dieser Artikel bietet einen Überblick über die bislang durchgeführten Projekte mit Mobilfunkdaten im Statistischen Bundesamt und beschreibt anhand des Entstehungs- und Aufbereitungsprozesses der Daten deren wichtigste Qualitätsaspekte. Auf Basis der bisherigen Erfahrungen ist festzustellen, dass die Datenquelle bestens für kleinräumige Sonderauswertungen und Auswertungen am aktuellen Rand geeignet ist, die mit vorhandenen amtlichen Daten nicht realisiert werden können. Eine Statistikproduktion unter Berücksichtigung amtlicher Qualitätskriterien ist derzeit jedoch nicht möglich. Ein wichtiger Grund hierfür ist der bislang fehlende rechtliche Zugang zu Daten aller Anbieter von Mobilfunkdaten am deutschen Markt. Mobile network data are considered a promising new data source, but its quality for use in official statistics has hitherto not been systematically studied. This article provides an overview of the projects using mobile network data which have so far been carried out at the Federal Statistical Office and, based on the generation and processing of the data, describes the major quality aspects. On the basis of this experience, the following conclusion is reached: the data source is well suited for special evaluations of small-area data and for evaluations of very recent data that cannot be made using the existing official data. However, the production of statistics in line with the official quality criteria is currently not possible. A key reason is the lack of legislation permitting access to data of all providers of mobile network data in the German market.

In this study, based on unpublished archival sources found in the National Archives of the Republic of Moldova, the Russian State Historical Archives (St. Petersburg), the Russian State Military Historical Archives (Moscow) and the State Historical Archives of the Chernivtsi region (Ukraine), the author analyzes the demographic changes that took place in the Khotyn County in the second half of the 18th century - the first half of the 19th century, making some generalizations about his own monograph on the Khotyn County, which was published in 2018. Using statistical data collected and systematized by local regional authorities and submitted to the central authorities, the author examines the number, distribution and composition of the population and describes the changes that occurred during this period in Khotyn County. The statistics fixed the number of families at the time of the census or the time of data collection and contained concrete data on the total number of males and females for such social categories as peasants, clergy, mazili, ruptaşi, Gypsies, and Jews and about the economic situation of the village at the time of census. These data were of great interest to the tsarist government, especially when the Russian Empire was involved in armed conflicts in the Balkans, and Bessarabia, as a border and transit territory, was to provide the Russian army with everything necessary.

Chancengleichheit zwischen Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern ist der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) ein wichtiges Anliegen. J��hrlich berichtet die DFG daher ��ber die Anzahl und den Anteil von Wissenschaftlerinnen an der Antragstellung bei der DFG, ihren Antragserfolg sowie ihrer Repr��sentanz in den Gremien der DFG. Zus��tzliche Daten aus DFG-Erhebungen und vom Statistischen Bundesamt erlauben eine Betrachtung der Frauenanteile auf verschiedenen Karrierestufen und den Vergleich zur Repr��sentanz im Wissenschaftssystem insgesamt. This paper examines the shifts in Alexander Mitscherlich's epistemological position in the 1940s, 50s and 60s via his plea for psychosomatic medicine. These shifts illustrate the post-war controversy among psychiatrists, physicians, and psychotherapists about what constitutes valid and practically relevant knowledge. The subjectivity of patients is key to Mitscherlich's concept of disease. This informs his continuous criticism of the use of statistical methods to validate individual diagnoses and hypotheses. This paper shows that Mitscherlich's criticism of a science-based medical methodology is highly adaptable, even though, in spite of many theoretical changes and adaptations, the main thrust of his approach remains consistent.Anhand von Alexander Mitscherlichs Plädoyers für eine Psychosomatische Medizin werden dessen epistemologische Neupositionierungen in den 1940er, 1950er und 1960er Jahren untersucht. Sie eröffnen den Blick auf die Auseinandersetzung von Psychiatern, Internisten und Psychotherapeuten um valides und handlungsrelevantes Wissen in der Nachkriegszeit. Zentral war für Mitscherlich ein Krankheitsverständnis, das der Subjektivität der Patienten einen festen Platz zuwies. Damit verbunden war eine kontinuierliche Kritik an statistischen Verfahren zur Validierung von Einzelbefunden und Hypothesen. Gezeigt wird, wie anpassungsfähig Mitscherlich mit seiner Kritik an einer naturwissenschaftlich orientierten Methodik in der Medizin war, wenngleich er die ursprüngliche Stoßrichtung trotz aller Wandlungen aufrechterhielt.

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye ve İngiltere’de öğrenim görmekte olan ilköğretim öğrencilerinin değerlere ilişkin algılarını belirlemek ve karşılaştırmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırmanın örneklemini Samsun (419) ve Lancashire’de (365) bulunan sekizer ilköğretim okulu öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Öğrencilere araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yedi senaryodan oluşan anket formu uygulanmış ve her bir senaryoya ilişkin yapmayı tercih edecekleri üç durumdan birini seçmeleri sağlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, betimsel analiz yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Anket formu verilerine göre, Türkiye’deki ilköğretim öğrencileri için değer algılamalarının yeterli düzeyde olduğu, İngiltere’de öğrenim görmekte olan ilköğretim öğrencilerinin değer algılamalarının yeterli düzeyde olmadığı görülmektedir. Cinsiyet ve yaşanılan ülke değişkenlerine göre tüm senaryolar açısından anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir.

Background Since the 1950s, the Norwegian–Swedish Coldblooded trotter (NSCT) has been intensively selected for harness racing performance. As a result, the racing performance of the NSCT has improved remarkably; however, this improved racing performance has also been accompanied by a gradual increase in inbreeding level. Inbreeding in NSCT has historically been monitored by using traditional methods that are based on pedigree analysis, but with recent advancements in genomics, the NSCT industry has shown interest in adopting molecular approaches for the selection and maintenance of this breed. Consequently, the aims of the current study were to estimate genomic-based inbreeding coefficients, i.e. the proportion of runs of homozygosity (ROH), for a sample of NSCT individuals using high-density genotyping array data, and subsequently to compare the resulting rate of genomic-based F (FROH) to that of pedigree-based F (FPED) coefficients within the breed. Background Growth curves have been widely used in genetic analyses to gain insights into the growth characteristics of both animals and plants. However, several questions remain unanswered, including how the initial phenotypes affect growth and what is the duration of any such impact. For beef cattle production in Japan, calves are procured from farms that specialize in reproduction and then moved to other farms where they are fattened to achieve their market/purchase value. However, the causal effect of growth, while calves are on the reproductive farms, on their growth during fattening remains unclear. To investigate this, we developed a model that combines a structural equation with a growth curve model. The causal effect was modeled with B-splines, which allows inference of the effect as a curve. We fitted the proposed structural growth curve model to repeated measures of body weight from a Japanese beef cattle population (n = 3831) to estimate the curve of the causal effect of the calves’ initial weight on their trajectory of growth when they are on fattening farms. Results Maternal and reproduction farm effects explained 26% of the phenotypic variance of initial weight at fattening farms. The structural growth curve model was fitted to remove the effects of these factors in growth curve analysis at fattening farms. The estimated curve of causal effects remained at approximately 0.8 for 200 d after the calves entered the fattening farms, which means that 64% of the phenotypic variance was explained by the initial weight. Then, the effect decreased linearly and disappeared approximately 620 d after entering the fattening farms, which corresponded to an average age of 871.5 d. Conclusions The proposed model is expected to provide more accurate estimates of genetic values for growth patterns because the confounding causal factors such as maternal and reproduction farm effects are removed. Moreover, examination of the inferred curve of the causal effect enabled us to estimate the effect of a calf’s initial weight at arbitrary times during growth, which could provide suitable information for decision-making when shifting the time of slaughter, building models for genetic evaluation, and selecting calves for market. The author emphasizes that when investigating a particular issue, the historian / researcher uses various historical sources, and lists of the population and statistical documents are important sources for studying the history of Bessarabia.

Teil 1 des Erfahrungsberichts zur Analyse von Segregationstrends in Thüringer Klein- und Mittelstädten berichtet von den Hürden bei der Akquise kleinräumiger statistischer Daten, die Aufschluss über sozioökonomische, ethnische oder demographische Trends geben könnten. Die Städtestatistik ist in der Verwaltung meist mit so geringen Ressourcen ausgestattet, dass die Chancen, einen Zugang zu nutzbaren Daten zu erhalten, sinken, je kleiner die Städte sind. Auch die Sparzwänge schrumpfender Städte tragen dazu bei. Part 1 of the report analysing segregation trends in small and medium-sized towns in Thuringia discusses barriers to the acquisition of small-scale statistical data that could provide information about socio-economic, ethnic or demographic trends. The limited resources provided for urban statistics within local administrations mean that the chances of obtaining access to useable data decline with the size of the town. The austerity measures necessary in shrinking towns also contribute to this problem.

Seit dem Jahr 2005 gibt es das Geoportal CentropeMAP mit dem Folus auf Daten auf regionaler und Gemeindeebene, um grenzüberschreitende Aufgabenstellungen in der Planung zu erleichternDazu werden Datensätze aus den aneinander grenzenden und in der Centrope-Region vereinten Landesteilen in einer gemeinsamen Oberfläche darstellt und grenzüberschreitend betrachtet. Das Geoportal verfügt über eine umfangreiche Erweiterung zur Darstellung statistischer Daten: Mit dem interaktiven grenzüberschreitenden Statistikinformationssystem CentropeSTATISTICS könenn Bevölkerungs-, Wirtschafts- und Landnutzungsdaten innerhalb der Centrope-Region, d. h. grenzüberschreitend zwischen vier Staaten, verglichen, analysiert und graphisch dargestellt werden. Der Schwerpunkt von CentropeSTATISTICS liegt auf Daten der Gemeindeebene; dadurch unterscheidet sich CentropeSTATISTICS deutlich von fast allen anderen grenzüberschreitenden Statistikportalen, die oftmals nur grob nach NUTS-3- oder NUTS-2-Regionen gegliederte Zahlen anbieten und so kaum Mehrwert gegenüber den gesamteuropäisch frei verfügbaren Eurostat-Tabellen bieten. Mit der Möglichkeit, Daten auf Gemeindeebene anzuzeigen und im Geoportal zu visualisieren, ist auch eine kleinräumige Betrachtung sinnvoll möglich. Der Funktionsumfang von CentropeSTATISTICS ist in den letzten Jahren stetig gewachsen. Für die Kleinstadtforschung bedarf es geeigneter Daten und Methoden. Dieser Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die Datenlage und das Methodenspektrum in der Kleinstadtforschung. Im ersten Teil wird zunächst auf die Schwierigkeit eingegangen, klare Definitionen für Kleinstädte zu finden. Gängige Abgrenzungen von Kleinstädten anhand von Größenklassen werden reflektiert. Im zweiten Teil werden die Methoden, die überwiegend in der Kleinstadtforschung eingesetzt werden, aufgezeigt und erörtert. Daran anschließend werden im dritten Teil vorhandene Quellen für kleinräumige Daten und die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen dieser kleinräumigen Datengrundlagen für die Raumanalyse dargelegt, z. B. für ein kontinuierliches Monitoring von Raumentwicklungsprozessen und für die Ausgestaltung von Planungsprozessen. Research on small towns requires appropriate data and methods. This article provides an overview of the data situation and range of methods in small town research. The first section discusses the difficulty of finding clear definitions of small towns. Popular approaches to delimiting small towns using size categories are considered. In the second part the methods that are primarily used in small town research are presented and set in context. Then in the third section available sources for small-scale data and the possibilities and limitations of such small-scale data for spatial analyses are discussed, e. g. for the continuous monitoring of spatial development processes and the configuration of planning processes.

Die vorliegende Dissertation beschäftigt sich mit der Analyse der Lebenszyklen konvektiver Zellen im Zusammenhang mit den vorherrschenden Umgebungsbedingungen in Deutschland. Darüber hinaus werden verschiedene statistische Vorhersagemodelle zur Abschätzung der Lebensdauer und der Größe konvektiver Zellen entwickelt und untersucht. Das Ziel dabei ist es herauszufinden, welche Methode für eine Verbesserung von Verfahren zur Echtzeit-Vorhersage (Nowcasting) am besten geeignet ist. Die Grundlage für diese Untersuchungen bilden Daten des radarbasierten Zellverfolgungsalgorithmus KONRAD, anhand derer zusammenhängende Lebenszyklen von isolierter Konvektion (Einzel- und Superzellen) für die Sommerhalbjahre 2011-2016 erstellt werden. Zusätzlich wird eine Vielzahl konvektionsrelevanter Umgebungsvariablen unter Verwendung von hochaufgelösten Assimilationsanalysen des numerischen Wettervorhersagemodells COSMO-EU berechnet und mit den Lebenszyklen zusammengeführt. Auf Basis dieses kombinierten Datensatzes werden statistische Zusammenhänge zwischen verschiedenen Zellattributen und Umgebungsvariablen untersucht. Wie die Analysen zeigen, sind insbesondere Maße der vertikalen Windscherung aufgrund ihres Einflusses auf die Organisationsform der Konvektion geeignet, zwischen Zellen mit kurzer und langer Lebensdauer zu unterscheiden. Eine erhöhte thermische Instabilität der Atmosphäre geht mit einem schnelleren anfänglichen Wachstum der Zellen einher, welches wiederum eine größere horizontale Zellausdehnung (Zellfläche) während des Lebenszyklus und damit indirekt eine längere Lebensdauer begünstigt. Drei unterschiedliche multivariate Methoden (logistische Regression, Random Forest, nicht-linearer Polynomansatz) werden als Modelle für die Abschätzung der Lebensdauer und der maximalen Zellfläche der konvektiven Zellen mit Hilfe eines Ensembleansatzes untersucht. Die Vorhersagegüte der Modelle wird evaluiert und die Bedeutung der anfänglichen Zellentwicklung und der Umgebungsvariablen analysiert. Dabei werden Potentiale und Grenzen der Methoden aufgezeigt, die verdeutlichen, dass die Wahl eines geeigneten Verfahrens von der genauen Fragestellung bzw. Anforderung des Nowcastings abhängt. Die Untersuchungen legen dar, dass sich die maximale Zellfläche der konvektiven Zellen insgesamt besser abschätzen lässt als ihre Lebensdauer. Umgebungsvariablen, die den dynamischen und thermodynamischen Zustand der Atmosphäre charakterisieren, sind insbesondere zu Beginn der Zellentwicklung für die Abschätzung der zukünftig zu erwartenden Entwicklung der Zellen bedeutsam, während mit zunehmendem Zellalter die vergangene Zellhistorie immer wichtiger wird.

Mit dieser Publikation werden Aufgaben und Entwicklungsprozesse in den Blick genommen, die Kommunen beim Aufbau und bei der Verstetigung des Bildungsmonitorings bearbeiten. (Autoren)

Der Beitrag adressiert die Klassifikation von Migration durch statistische Erhebungen zu Migration, zum Migrationshintergrund und zu Sprache. Ausgegangen wird zunächst von bisherigen Befunden dazu, dass es nicht den einen ‚Migrationshintergrund‘ gibt, sondern höchst unterschiedliche statistische Ansätze, Migration zu messen und eine Unterscheidbarkeit zwischen Personen mit und ohne Migrationshintergrund herzustellen. Die unterschiedenen Schüler*innen können erst dadurch unterschiedlich beschult und beforscht werden. Der Beitrag verfolgt verschiedene Ziele. Zunächst werden unterschiedliche Operationalisierungen des Migrationshintergrundes dargestellt, die in verschiedenen Erhebungen und Statistiken verwendet werden. Dann wird veranschaulicht, dass sich vereinzelt auch innerhalb derselben Erhebung unterschiedliche Operationalisierungen finden. Die Ursachen hierfür sowie die hiermit einhergehenden Probleme werden thematisiert. Anschließend wird aufgezeigt, dass verschiedene Bezeichnungen für den ‚Migrationshintergrund‘ verwendet werden. Terminologische Unterschiede sind nicht nur zwischen unterschiedlichen Studien zu beobachten, sondern im Zeitverlauf z.T. sogar für dieselbe Studie mit derselben Operationalisierung. Weiter werden die verschiedenen Konzepte der Erfassung von Sprache in ausgewählten Erhebungen kontrastierend vorgestellt, die z.T. in die Bestimmung des ‚Migrationshintergrunds‘ einfließen. Veranschaulicht werden kann auch, dass selbst in wissenschaftlichen Publikationen falsche – z.B. nicht trennscharfe – migrationsbezogene Begrifflichkeiten verwendet werden oder inhaltlich unzutreffende Zuordnungen und damit sozial wirksame Unterscheidungen erfolgen. Die genannten Aspekte werden anhand von einschlägigen Datensätzen untersucht, die in der Bildungsforschung häufig Verwendung finden, wie die internationale Schulleistungsstudie PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment), das Nationale Bildungspanel NEPS, die amtliche repräsentative Bevölkerungsstatistik (Mikrozensus) sowie die amtlichen Schulstatistiken der Bundesländer. Practices of comparing and grading states by numbers have a long history. Taking off in the early modern period, these practices were triggered by fiscal–military rivalry between major and minor powers within Europe and beyond. While military and demographic strength continued to be important yardsticks, additional criteria came to the fore in the 19th century: economic performance, social provisions for inhabitants, and cultural achievements. In a first step, the article enumerates the preconditions for today’s elaborated state ranking practices: seriality and standardization of data-collection, the existence of internationally recognized centers of calculation, relevant publics creating a demand for state comparisons, and a progressive view of history that induces state actors to imagine themselves as being “ahead” or “lagging behind.” The empirical parts of the article are devoted to the gradual unfolding of state-comparing practices within Western and Central Europe from the late 17th century to the early 20th century. Exemplary studies deal with authors and institutions that measured state powers in quantitative terms (English political arithmeticians, German tabular statisticians, national statistical bureaus, international statistical congresses). Attention is also paid to qualitative comparisons in 18th-century German Statistik and visual displays at 19th-century world fairs. The article also takes account of early 19th-century critics who, on behalf of each nation’s singularity, protested against the reduction of states (or empires) to just a handful of numerically countable categories. The story of 18th- and 19th-century state comparisons is therefore not one of a linear development towards ever more quantification, but that of a contested practice that includes progressive better–worse comparisons as well as comparisons insisting on essentialized differences., Praktiken des Vergleichens und Bewertens von Staaten mittels Zahlen haben eine lange Geschichte. Seit der Frühen Neuzeit erlebten sie einen Aufschwung infolge fiskal-militärischer Rivalität zwischen größeren und kleineren Mächten innerhalb wie außerhalb Europas. Im Laufe des langen 19. Jahrhunderts kamen zusätzliche Kriterien ins Spiel: Neben militärischer und demografischer Stärke wurden nun ökonomische Leistungsfähigkeit, soziale Vorsorge für die Einwohner sowie kulturelle Errungenschaften wichtiger. In einem ersten Schritt benennt der Beitrag wesentliche Voraussetzungen für die heute etablierten Praktiken des Rankings von Staaten: Serialität und Standardisierung der Datenerhebung, Existenz international anerkannter centres of calculation, relevante Öffentlichkeiten als Nachfrager für Staatenvergleiche, eine Vision von Geschichte als Fortschritt, welche staatliche Akteure nötigte, sich im Verhältnis zu anderen als „vorauseilend“ oder „zurückgeblieben“ einzuordnen. Die empirischen Teile des Beitrags widmen sich der Entfaltung staatenvergleichender Praktiken in West- und Mitteleuropa vom späten 17. bis ins frühe 20. Jahrhundert. In exemplarischen Studien werden Autoren und Institutionen behandelt, die Staaten quantifizierend zu vergleichen suchten (englische politische Arithmetiker, deutsche Tabellenstatistiker, nationale statistische Bureaus, internationale statistische Kongresse). Ebenfalls berücksichtigt werden qualitative Staatenvergleiche in der deskriptiven deutschen „Statistik“ des 18. Jahrhunderts oder durch visuelle Präsentationen auf den Weltausstellungen des 19. Jahrhunderts. Schließlich kommen im Beitrag auch Kritiker zu Wort, die im Namen der Singularität von Nationen, Staaten oder Imperien gegen deren Reduktion auf wenige zählbare Größen protestierten. Die Geschichte der Staatenvergleiche im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert lief also keineswegs geradlinig auf immer mehr Quantifizierung hinaus. Vielmehr war sie die Geschichte einer umstrittenen Praxis, in der „progressive“ besser-schlechter-Vergleiche stets mit solchen Vergleichen rivalisierten, die auf essenzialisierte Andersartigkeit abhoben.

Daten bilden während der Corona-Pandemie die Basis für weitreichende politische Entscheidungen im Bund, in den Ländern und in den Kommunen und beeinflussen damit massiv den Alltag und die Gesundheit von Millionen Menschen. Jedoch fehlen viele Daten zum Infektionsgeschehen und vorhandene Daten aus anderen Bereichen werden nicht ergänzend für vertiefte Analysen genutzt. Beschrieben werden die aktuell vorhandenen Schuldaten sowie die darüber hinausgehenden Datenerfordernisse für das geplante Bund-Länder-Programm zur Schließung von coronabedingten Lern- bzw. Kompetenzlücken der Schüler*innen und dessen Evaluation. Ergänzend werden Ansätze zur Identifikation von kleinräumigen Infektionsclustern und zu berufsgruppen- und branchenspezifischen Auswertungen vorgeschlagen. Den Vorschlägen gemein ist die Nutzung von kleinräumigen Daten sowie die Inanspruchnahme eines vertrauenswürdigen Dritten, um datenschutzkonform (Individual-)Daten aus unterschiedlichen Quellen miteinander verknüpfen und für vertiefte Auswertungen als Grundlage für evidenzbasierte politische Entscheidungen zur Verfügung stellen zu können. (DIPF/Orig.), This paper discusses the fact that in Germany, many of the extensive political decisions pertaining to the Corona Pandemic lack adequate evidence as a basis. Yet these decisions exert a massive influence on the daily life and health of millions of people. Data on the development of infections are, however, often incomplete, and chances to connect them to existing data from other areas are being missed. The article thus describes currently existing school data and the data requirements beyond them with regard to upcoming political decisions on the closing of students’ competency gaps and its evaluation. Furthermore, approaches to identifying small-range infection clusters and possibilities for job-specific and sectoral analyses are proposed. The different suggestions share the ideas of using small-range data and utilizing a trusted third party to connect data from different sources and, in accordance with data privacy laws, make them available for deepened analyses, thus providing a basis for evidence-based political decisions. In diesem Beitrag wird dargelegt, wie die unterschiedlich starke Bildungsteilhabe von Schüler*innen mit zugeschriebenem sonderpädagogischen Förderbedarf (SPF) auf der Ebene des formalen Zugangs zu den allgemeinbildenden Schulen durch sozialräumliche und -strukturelle Bedingungen zu erklären ist. In der exemplarischen Analyse einer Bildungsregion findet sich ein deutlicher Zusammenhang zwischen den sozialstrukturellen Merkmalen der Schulstandorte und der Höhe der Inklusionsquoten. Den theoretischen Rahmen der Analyse bildet der Ansatz des Neo-Institutionalismus, der Schulen als lose gekoppelte Systeme betrachtet. (DIPF/Orig), In this paper, we show how the different levels of educational participation of students with special educational needs (SEN) at the level of formal access to general education schools can be explained by socio-spatial and sociostructural conditions. In the exemplary analysis of an educational region, a clear correlation is found between the sociostructural characteristics of school locations and the level of inclusion rates. Diese SISS-Schrift erläutert die statistische Analyse von Mehrgruppen-Modellen sowie deren Schätzung und Interpretation als Strukturgleichungsmodelle mit latenten Variablen. Alle Analysen werden exemplarisch unter Verwendung eines empirischen Datensatzes durchgeführt. Dabei werden verschiedenste Probleme, die mit statistischen Mehrgruppenanalysen verbunden sind, aufgezeigt und Möglichkeiten für deren Lösung vorgestellt. Zusätzlich werden alle SPSS- und EQS-Inputfiles (Syntaxfiles), die für die Analyse (mittels „copy and paste“) benötigt werden, zur Verfügung gestellt. This SISS-paper describes the statistical analysis of multi-group models. It shows the estimation and interpretation of these models as structural equation models including latent variables. All analyses are presented in an exemplary way by using empirical data. Several problems that could arise in the course of multi-group analysis are discussed and recommendations on how to deal with the presented problems are given. Additionally, all the SPSS- and EQS-input files (syntax files) necessary for multi-group analysis are presented for download(by “copy and paste”).

Die jährlich erscheinende Studie ist Grundlage für Vergleiche und Langzeitbetrachtungen der wichtigsten Rahmenbedingungen und strukturellen Entwicklungen an Volkshochschulen. Dazu gehören: Finanzierung, Personal, Kooperationen, Programmbereiche und Fachgebiete, Veranstaltungen, Teilnehmende und Beteiligung. Anhand der erhobenen Daten lassen sich Angebotsverläufe, Teilnahmequoten und Strukturveränderungen beobachten. Seit 1970 erhebt das Deutsche Institut für Erwachsenenbildung jährlich die Daten für diese repräsentative Statistik. Erfasst werden die Angaben von über 900 Volkshochschulen - das sind fast 100 Prozent der Bildungseinrichtungen. Aufgrund von nachträglichen Hinweisen zu Inkonsistenzen in den vorliegenden Daten wurden Text und Tabellen für diese 2. Auflage überarbeitet.

Gesetzgeber, Wissenschaft und Praxis benötigen valide und gut ausgebaute Kriminal- und Strafrechtspflegestatistiken für eine evidenzbasierte Kriminalpolitik, zur effizienten Ressourcenplanung, zur rechtsstaatlichen Kontrolle und zur Information der Öffentlichkeit. Die deutsche Kriminalstatistik ist in mehrfacher Hinsicht optimierungsbedürftig. Sie genügt den Anforderungen der verschiedenen Nutzendengruppen nur bedingt. Die Ständige Konferenz der Kultusminister der Länder (KMK) gibt alle zwei Jahre eine Statistik zur sonderpädagogischen Förderung in Deutschland heraus. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt eine erstmals durchgeführte Trendanalyse über den gesamten Berichtszeitraum seit dem Schuljahr 1994/95 vor. Insgesamt lässt sich festhalten, dass nur die Förderquote im sonderpädagogischen Schwerpunkt Lernen sinkt, alle anderen Schwerpunkte einen bisweilen sehr deutlichen Zuwachs aufweisen. Zudem zeigt sich, dass sich die Entwicklungstrends (Steigungskoeffizienten) von Förder-, Separations- und Integrationsquote mit dem Zeitpunkt des Inkrafttretens der UN-BRK signifikant ändern: Während Förder- und Integrationsquote nach 2009 steiler ansteigen als vorher, zeigt sich bei der Separationsquote eine Trendwende hin zu einer leicht abnehmenden Tendenz. (DIPF/Orig.), The standing conference of the state ministers of education (Kultusministerkonferenz [KMK]) publishes statistics on special needs education in Germany every two years. The present article presents a trend analysis carried out for the first time over the entire reporting period since the school year 1994/95. Overall, it can be said that only the rate of diagnoses in the special educational focus on learning is falling, all other focus areas show an increase. In addition, it can be seen that the trends (regression coefficients) of the rate of diagnoses, the exclusion rate and the inclusion rate change significantly with the UN CRPD being ratified: While rate of diagnoses and the inclusion rate increase more steeply after 2009 than before, there is a trend reversal in the exclusion rate towards a slightly decreasing trend. Diese Masterarbeit ist Teil des Projekts ConChar, in dem die Sorptionsfähigkeit von Biokohle (engl. biochar) für umweltbelastende Stoffe am Beispiel der Conazol-Fungizide sowie deren Verhalten mit Biokohle im Boden untersucht werden soll. Biokohle ist ein kohlenstoffreicher Stoff, der mittels Pyrolyse, d. h. thermo-chemischer Umwandlung bzw. Spaltung organischer Ausgangsmaterialien unter hohen Temperaturen und unter Abwesenheit von Sauerstoff erzeugt wird. Verwendet wird Biokohle u. a. zur Bodenverbesserung, Steigerung von Ernteerträgen, Kohlenstoff-Fixierung und als Filtermaterial. Diese Arbeit setzt sich aus drei Teilen zusammen. Zuerst wurde Biokohle mit einem Pyrolysereaktor aus verschiedenen Rohmaterialien (z. B. Fichtenhackschnitzel, Miscanthusstängel, Weizenstrohpellets) unter variierenden Temperaturregimen (300, 450, 600 und 750 °C) und Verweilzeiten (10 und 30 min) hergestellt. Anschließend erfolgte die chemische Charakterisierung der Biokohle mittels Infrarotspektroskopie DRIFTS, wobei ein Absorptionsspektrogramm erstellt wurde. Die Zusammensetzung der Biokohle bezüglich funktioneller Gruppen an den Oberflächen konnte anhand der Peaks bei bestimmten Wellenzahlen ermittelt werden. Schließlich wurde eine statistische Auswertung zur Untersuchung des Zusammenhangs von Rohmaterial, Temperatur, Verweilzeit und physikalisch-chemischen Eigenschaften der Biokohle (z. B. spezifische Oberfläche, Anteil organischen Materials) vorgenommen. Dabei kam eine Hauptkomponentenanalyse (engl. principal component analysis, PCA) als multivariate statistische Methode zum Einsatz. Bei der Pyrolyse zeigte sich erwartungsgemäß eine sinkende Ausbeute der festen Pyrolyse-Produkte mit steigender Temperatur und Verweilzeit, wobei die Temperatur größeren Einfluss auf die Ausbeute hatte. Bei der statistischen Auswertung mittels Hauptkomponentenanalyse wurden folgende Parameter und Eigenschaften der Biokohle als Variable verwendet: Rohmaterial, Verweilzeit, Pyrolysetemperatur, durchschnittliche Ausbeute, Wellenzahlen, spezifische Oberfläche, H/C-Verhältnis, O/C-Verhältnis, Anteil organischen Materials und Ascheanteil. Die Daten wurden durch 2 Hauptkomponenten ausreichend repräsentiert (63,47 % der Datenvarianz erklärt); es konnten teilweise signifikante positive und negative Korrelationen zwischen verschiedenen Variablen festgestellt werden. So konnte gezeigt werden, dass die spezifische Oberfläche, die großen Einfluss auf die Sorptionskapazität hat, vor allem von der Pyrolysetemperatur und nur geringfügig von der Verweilzeit abhing. This master thesis is part of the ConChar project, in which the sorptive capacity of biochar for polluting substances as exemplified for conazole fungicides and the behavior of the conazole and biochar in soil are to be investigated. Biochar is a carbon-rich substance that is produced by pyrolysis, i.e. thermo-chemical conversion or cleavage of organic input materials at high temperatures and in the absence of oxygen. Biochar is used i. a. as soil amendment, for crop yield improvement, for carbon sequestration and as filter material. This work consists of three parts. Firstly, biochar was produced with a pyrolysis reactor from different raw materials (e.g. conifer wood chips, Miscanthus stems, wheat straw pellets) under varying temperature regimes (300, 450, 600 and 750 °C) and residence times (10 and 30 min). The chemical characterization of the biochar was then carried out using DRIFTS infrared spectroscopy for creation of absorption spectrograms, and the composition of the biochar with regard to surface functional groups could be determined using the peaks at certain wave numbers. Finally, the relationships between raw material, temperature, residence time and physicochemical properties of the biochar (e.g. specific surface area, content of organic material) were statistically evaluated by using principal component analysis (PCA), a multivariate statistical method. As expected, the pyrolysis showed a decreasing yield for solid biochar with increasing temperature and residence time; the temperature had a greater influence on the yield. The following parameters and properties of the biochar were used in the statistical analysis by principal component analysis as variables: raw material, residence time, pyrolysis temperature, average yield, wave numbers, specific surface area, H/C ratio, O/C ratio, content of organic material and ash content. The data were adequately represented by two principal components (63,47 % of data variance explained); partly significant, positive and negative correlations between different variables could be determined. Vorgestellt wird ein sekund��ranalytischer Ansatz, der es erm��glicht, die Bildungssituation von Gefl��chteten in NRW n��herungsweise zu untersuchen. Anhand von Daten des Ausl��nderzentralregisters (AZR), die u.a. Informationen zum aufenthaltsrechtlichen Status der nichtdeutschen Bev��lkerung enthalten, wird eine Operationalisierung von ���Gefl��chteten��� erarbeitet. Erg��nzend und zum Vergleich wird eine bestehende Operationalisierung von ���Schutzsuchenden��� des Statistischen Bundesamtes herangezogen. Die Informationen zum aufenthaltsrechtlichen Status lassen sich mit der in der Schulstatistik enthaltenen Staatsangeh��rigkeitsinformation verkn��pfen, wor��ber sich n��herungsweise die Bildungssituation von Gefl��chteten anhand von Daten der amtlichen Schulstatistik absch��tzen l��sst. Werden die erzielten Bildungsergebnisse f��r Gefl��chtete in Abh��ngigkeit von der jeweiligen Operationalisierungsvariante verglichen, dann ergeben sich nur relativ geringe Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Varianten. Eine tiefergehende Analyse der Bildungssituation von Gefl��chteten in NRW erfolgt anhand der auf AZR-Daten basierenden Operationalisierung von Gefl��chteten. Diese Operationalisierung wird f��r wissenschaftliche Analysen empfohlen und u.a. aus Pr��zisionsgr��nden favorisiert. Gegen��ber Nichtgefl��chteten zeigen sich Unterschiede in der Bildungsbeteiligung derart, dass Gefl��chtete in den Jahrgangsstufen 5 bis 9 seltener Gymnasien, hingegen h��ufiger Hauptschulen besuchen. Zudem weisen Gefl��chtete in NRW einen erheblich geringeren Schulerfolg auf: Sie verlassen die Schule im Vergleich zu Nichtgefl��chteten h��ufiger maximal mit Hauptschulabschluss (d.h. entweder ohne Hauptschulabschluss oder mit Hauptschulabschluss) und erlangen erheblich seltener die (Fach-)Hochschulreife. Dar��ber hinaus zeigt sich, dass in NRW sowohl hinsichtlich der Bildungsbeteiligung als auch des Schulerfolgs von Gefl��chteten ��� auch und insbesondere im Vergleich zu Nichtgefl��chteten ��� deutliche Disparit��ten auf Ebene der Kreise und kreisfreien St��dte bestehen. F��r ein potentielles administratives Monitoring der Bildungssituation von Gefl��chteten in NRW wird empfohlen, das bestehende ���Schutzsuchenden���-Konzept des Statistischen Bundesamtes zu verwenden. Das ���Schutzsuchenden���-Konzept wird ��� etwa aufgrund gr����erer Stichtagsunterschiede gegen��ber der Schulstatistik ��� im Vergleich zur AZR-Operationalisierung zwar als etwas weniger pr��zise eingesch��tzt, jedoch l��sst sich hier��ber ein kontinuierliches Monitoring der Bildungssituation von Gefl��chteten in NRW mit erheblich geringerem Aufwand realisieren. Emotionale und soziale Entwicklung in der Pädagogik der Erziehungshilfe und bei Verhaltensstörungen : ESE 2 (2020) 2, S. 208-219, Die bundesweiten Angaben zur sonderpädagogischen Förderung der Kultusministerkonferenz dienen zum einen als Orientierungswissen und zum anderen als Reverenz- bzw. Vergleichswert für die Inklusionsbemühungen der Bundesländer. Auch wenn die Daten aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht umstritten sind, liefern sie eine Perspektive auf die Entwicklung der sonderpädagogischen Förderung in Deutschland. In diesem Beitrag werden mit Fokus auf die Fachrichtung Emotionale und Soziale Entwicklung die bundesweiten Datensätze präsentiert und verglichen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Entwicklung und der Veränderung der Daten in den vergangenen 20 Jahren. Im Dickicht von Wunschvorstellungen, Marketing und schwacher Empirie fällt es oft schwer zu erkennen, auf welche Erkenntnisse sich eine digitale Unterstützung der Hochschullehre stützen kann. Dass vieles in diesem Bereich auf tönernen Füßen steht, liegt sowohl an schwachen Methoden als auch an der Tücke des Forschungsgegenstands. Dennoch lassen sich einige Erkenntnisse anführen, die als gesichert gelten können, aber Lehrende oft überraschen. Zudem stellt sich die Verknüpfung von Forschung und Praxis als Herausforderung dar: Lehrende müssen viele Fragen, auf die es weder allgemeine noch zeitlich beständige Antworten gibt, selbst, also in ihrer eigenen Praxis, lösen - unterstützt durch digitale Medien. Das Lehramtsstudium weist bundesweit vergleichsweise gute Erfolgs- bzw. Abbruchsquoten auf. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern werden die Studienverläufe von Lehramtsstudierenden genau nachgezeichnet. Differenziert nach angestrebter Schulform zeigt sich, dass vor allem im Sekundarbereich ein Großteil des Lehrkräftenachwuchses aus den Kohorten scheidet und Schwund nicht mit Abbruch gleichzusetzen ist, sondern differenzierter betrachtet werden muss.
