Lung cancer is the malignant tumor with the highest incidence and mortality rate worldwide. For lung adenocarcinoma, identifying specific gene mutations, fusions, and giving corresponding targeted drugs can greatly improve the survival time of the patients. Among them, anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusion occurs in 3%-7% of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In clinical practice, a variety of detection methods can be used to determine the ALK fusion status, but false negative test results are possible. This paper retrospectively analyzed the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with lung adenocarcinoma, judged the ALK fusion status by various detection methods. Among them, immunohistochemistry (IHC)(Ventana D5F3), RNA based next-generation sequencing (RNA-based NGS) confirmed positive echinoderm microtubule associated protein like 4 (EML4)-ALK fusion, while DNA-based NGS was negative. This paper analyzed the detection methods of ALK fusion, in order to clarify which detection method is the most accurate and simple to choose in different clinical cases and guide the subsequent treatment. Multiple primary lung cancer (MPLC) refers to patients with two or more primary lesions of lung cancer. It can be divided into synchronous MPLC (sMPLC) and metachronous MPLC (mMPLC) based on the timing of occurrence. In recent years, the detection rate of MPLC has gradually increased. However, considerable controversy exists in distinguishing MPLC from intrapulmonary metastasis (IM), especially when the histopathological types are identical. Given the significant differences in treatment strategies and prognosis in clinical practice currently, accurate diagnosis of MPLC is crucial for personalized precision therapy. Molecular genetics and sequencing technologies offer effective strategies for assessing the clonal origin of tumors. There have been reports of coexisting mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusion genes in non-small cell lung cancer, but case of EGFR mutation following an ALK mutation has not been mentioned. This article accurately diagnoses and retrospectively analyzes the clinical data of a case of ALK mutant adenocarcinoma in a male patient who developed an EGFR mutation with multiple metastases four years after surgery, and reviews the relevant literature. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with metastasis being the primary cause of mortality in lung cancer patients, and its prevention and control efficacy remain limited. In recent years, immunotherapy has emerged as a promising direction for overcoming the bottleneck of metastasis. Macrophages, as essential components of innate immunity, participate in the entire process of tumor initiation and progression. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) represent the most abundant immune population in the tumor microenvironment (TME), displaying both anti-tumor M1- like and pro-tumor M2-like phenotypes. The latter promotes tumor invasion and metastasis, angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, immune suppression, and reactivation of dormant disseminated tumor cells (DTCs), thereby facilitating tumor metastasis. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has shown significant efficacy in inhibiting tumor metastasis and has been extensively validated. It exerts anti-tumor effects by reducing the recruitment of TAMs, inhibiting M2-like polarization, and modulating cytokines and proteins in the TME. This paper reviews the relationship between TAMs and lung cancer metastasis, elucidates the targets and mechanisms of TCM in regulating TAMs to prevent and treat lung cancer metastasis, aiming to provide insights into lung cancer prevention and treatment. The best treatment for non-small cell lung cancer is early surgical treatment, but most lung cancer is diagnosed at an advanced stage. The main treatment methods are drug and radiotherapy. However, drug resistance or no significant effect of the above treatment methods is inevitable. Therefore, more methods are urgently needed for the treatment of lung cancer. Studies have confirmed that engineered exosomes have good clinical application potential in cardiovascular diseases, tumors, tissue regeneration and repair. Lung cancer causes a significant threat to human health. Despite considerable advancements in the treatment technologies in recent years, the five-year survival rate for lung cancer patients remains low. In this context, the discovery of pyroptosis, a unique cell death mechanism, offers a novel perspective for exploring new pathways of lung cancer treatment. Particularly, the role of gasdermin E (GSDME) in the process of pyroptosis reveals its tremendous potential in lung cancer therapy. Recent studies have made considerable progress in understanding the role of GSDME-mediated pyroptosis in lung cancer growth, the lung cancer microenvironment, and the effect of GSDME methylation on lung cancer treatment. This paper summarizes these research advancements and analyzes the potential and possible side effects of GSDME-mediated pyroptosis in lung cancer therapy, aiming to provide a theoretical foundation for developing more effective strategies for lung cancer treatment. The regulation of the cell cycle is essential for maintaining normal cellular function, especially in the development of diseases such as lung cancer. The cell cycle consists of four major phases (G1, S, G2 and M phases), which are characterized by a series of precise molecular events to ensure proper cell proliferation and division. In lung cancer cells, cell cycle dysregulation can lead to disordered proliferation and increased invasiveness of cancer cells. G2 and S-phase expressed 1 (GTSE1) is a regulatory protein found in the cytoplasm of the cell, which plays a key role in the cell cycle distribution of a wide range of cancer cells and is involved in life processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis. GTSE1 affects cell cycle progression by interacting with cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A (p21) and maintaining the stability of p21, which in turn inhibits the activity of cyclin-dependent kinase 1/2 (CDK1/2). In addition, GTSE1 is also involved in the regulation of tumor protein 53 (p53) signaling pathway. With the assistance of mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2), GTSE1 is able to transport p53 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and promote its ubiquitination and degradation, thus affecting cell cycle and cell deathrelated signaling pathways. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a prevalent tumour type in our country, with lung squamous carcinoma being a commonly observed NSCLC subtype besides lung adenocarcinoma. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a significant driver gene in lung cancer, and EGFR mutation frequency is considerably lower in lung squamous carcinoma in comparison to lung adenocarcinoma. Although targeted therapy against EGFR has demonstrated significant advancements in lung adenocarcinoma, while progress in lung squamous carcinoma has been relatively sluggish. This paper reviews recent studies on molecular targeted therapy for EGFR-mutated lung squamous carcinoma and summarises the efficacy of EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in treating squamous carcinoma of the lung, in order to provide a reference for treating patients with EGFR-mutated squamous carcinoma of the lung. When mainlobe interference exists in space, the traditional anti-interference methods have problems such as peak offset and the performance of sidelobe interference suppression reduction. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a mainlobe interference suppression method based on compressive sensing and covariance matrix reconstruction. Firstly, an improved compressive sensing algorithm is proposed to accurately estimate the Direction Of Arrival of sources, and then the signal steering vectors and signal subspaces can be established. The mainlobe interference can be suppressed by establishing an oblique projection operator through signal subspaces. Meanwhile, the sidelobeinterference-noise covariance matrix can be reconstructed by the steering vectors, and then the adaptive weight vector is obtained. Simulation results show that the proposed method can form a more robust beam pattern and has better output performance. Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is an aggressive extranodal large B-cell lymphoma, cocurrence in the same organ with other malignancies is very rare, especially in the lung. Here, we report a rare case of lung adenocarcinoma with IVLBCL. The patient was admitted to the hospital due to diarrhea associated with fever and cough. A computed tomography (CT) scan of the chest showed an irregular patchy high-density shadow in the upper lobe of the right lung with ground-glass opacity at the margin. After admission, the patient was given anti-infection treatment, but still had intermittent low fever (up to 37.5 oC). The pathological diagnosis of percutaneous lung biopsy (PLB) was lepidic-predominant adenocarcinoma with local infiltration, which was proved to be invasive nonmucinous adenocarcinoma of the lung with IVLBCL after surgery. This paper analyzed the clinicopathological characteristics and reviewed the relevant literature to improve the knowledge of clinicians and pathologists and avoid missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. Background and objective Lung cancer is the malignant tumor with the highest incidence rate and the heaviest disease burden in China. In recent years, lung cancer has shown a high incidence trend, seriously affecting the health of the population. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of lung cancer incidence in 2019 and the trend of incidence rate from 2010-2019 in the tumor registration area of Gansu province, in order to provide a reference basis for the development of lung cancer prevention and control strategies in Gansu province. Methods By analyzing the cases of lung cancer incidence in the tumor registration area of Gansu province in 2019, we calculated the incidence rate, medium incidence rate, world incidence rate and other related indexes; we used Joinpoint to calculate the annual percentage change (APC) for trend analysis. Results In 2019, a total of 3757 new cases of lung cancer were reported in Gansu province, accounting for 14.96% of all new malignant tumors. The incidence rate, medium incidence rate and world incidence rate and world rate of lung cancer were 40.52/105, 25.78/105, 25.86/105; and the cumulative rate of 0-74 years old, and the truncation rate of 35-64 years old were 3.23%, 40.03/105, respectively. The incidence of lung cancer rises with age, and is high in the age group of 40 years and above, and the incidence peaks in the male and female populations in the group of 75 years and above, and the group of 80 years and above, respectively. The crude incidence rate of lung cancer in the tumor registration area of Gansu province from 2010-2019 showed an overall increasing trend, and the rate of increase was relatively fast, with an APC 5.39% (P<0.05); Separately, according to gender, urban and rural areas, the incidence of lung cancer in all populations showed an increasing trend, and the APC of male, female, urban and rural populations were 4.98%, 6.39%, 6.26%, and 4.64%, respectively (all P<0.05). According to the trend analysis of lung cancer incidence rate by age group, only lung cancer incidence in the age group of 65 years and above increased at an annual average rate of 4.15% (P<0.05). Conclusion The incidence rate of lung cancer in the tumor registration area of Gansu province from 2010 to 2019 shows a rising trend year by year, and there are differences in the incidence of lung cancer in people of different genders, regions and age groups, so comprehensive prevention and control work should be carried out for the key populations of lung cancer incidence. Epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) targeting EGFR are effective in EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, but drug resistance is inevitable. With the application and expansion of individualized and combined therapy, more and more studies have shown that combined administration of Metformin effectively solves the problem of acquired drug resistance to EGFR-TKIs in clinical treatment and prolongs the survival of patients with NSCLC. EGFR-TKIs combined with Metformin is expected to be the treatment method of choice for NSCLC patients with EGFR-TKIs resistance. This paper intends to summarize the research progress of EGFR-TKIs combined with Metformin in the treatment of EGFR-TKIs acquired resistance in NSCLC, in order to provide a new idea for the treatment of NSCLC patients with acquired resistance to EGFR-TKIs. The era of tumor treatment has been revolutionized by the advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors. However, while immunotherapy benefits patients, it can also lead to immune-related adverse events that may affect multiple organs and systems throughout the body, potentially even posing a life-threatening risk. The diverse clinical manifestations and onset times of these adverse events further complicate their prediction and diagnosis. The purpose of this paper is to review the clinical characteristics and predicted biomarkers of adverse events related to inhibitors at immune checkpoints, in order to help clinicians evaluate drug risks and early warn adverse events. In advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), V-Raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1 (BRAF) mutation is highly malignant and has poor prognosis, and currently Dabrafenib in combination with Trametinib is approved for first-line treatment of patients with BRAF V600 mutation. In addition to mutations, BRAF fusion can also occur. With the development of gene detection, the detection of BRAF fusion is gradually increasing, but there is a lack of effective therapeutic strategies for BRAF fusion. In this paper, we review the clinical characteristics, mechanism of action, and clinical treatment of BRAF fusion to provide a basis for the treatment of BRAF fusion in NSCLC patients. Lung cancer associated with cystic airspaces (LCCA) is a type of lung cancer characterized by the presence of cystic cavities in or around the tumor on imaging. Due to its high potential for misdiagnosis or underdiagnosis, the prognosis of LCCA patients is poor, necessitating further large-scale clinical studies to elucidate its characteristics. Currently, four imaging classification systems exist, and there has been a progressive increase in attention towards LCCA, particularly with regard to the study of its imaging features. The results indicate a correlation between the pathological features and imaging findings of LCCA; however, research on driver gene mutations and molecular subtyping associated with lung cancer remains insufficient. Due to the challenges associated with early diagnosis and the poorer prognosis compared to general types of lung cancer, this paper comprehensively reviews the research progress on LCCA, including its definition, etiology, pathogenesis, imaging features, histological and pathological features, treatment, and prognosis, aiming to serve as a valuable resource for clinical decision-making. Rice is one of the most important crops in China and even the world. Plant type is an important agronomic trait of rice, which is closely related to yield, quality, and stress resistance. Plant type improvement has played an important role in rice breeding in the past, and will have a profound impact on rice breeding in the future. On the base of related achievements of Rice Research Institute of Shenyang Agricultural University, this paper comprehensively reviewed the research progress of rice plant type from the aspects of the concept of plant type, physiological ecology, and genetic basis of plant type breeding, and also discussed the existing problems and development direction of rice plant type. With the application of the latest research results of modern molecular biology, analyze the relationship between various organs and their optimal combination among population and individual, define the physiological ecology basis and the molecular regulatory network, and apply to plant type breeding practice, which is expected to achieve a higher level of "ideal plant type breeding" of rice. Radiation therapy is one of the main treatment methods for patients with thoracic malignant tumors, which can effectively improve the survival rate of the patients. However, radiation therapy can also cause damage to normal tissues while treating tumors, leading to radiation-induced lung injury such as radiation pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis. Radiation-induced lung injury is a complex pathophysiological process involving many factors, and its prevention and treatment is one of the difficult problems in the field of radiation medicine. Therefore, the search for sensitive predictors of radiation-induced lung injury can guide clinical radiotherapy and reduce the incidence of radiation-induced lung injury. With the in-depth study of intestinal flora, it can drive immune cells or metabolites to reach lung tissue through the circulatory system to play a role, and participate in the occurrence, development and treatment of lung diseases. At present, there are few studies on intestinal flora and radiation-induced lung injury. Therefore, this paper will comprehensively elaborate the interaction between intestinal flora and radiation-induced lung injury, so as to provide a new direction and strategy for studying the protective effect of intestinal flora on radiation-induced lung injury. Background and objective Xuanwei and Fuyuan are rural counties, located in the late Permian coal poly area of eastern Yunnan and western Guizhou, where lung cancer mortality rates are among the highest in the China, with similarity for both men and women, younger age at diagnosis and death, and higher in rural areas than in urban areas. In this paper, long-term follow-up of lung cancer cases in local peasants was conducted to observe their survival prognosis and its influencing factors. Methods Data of patients diagnosed with lung cancer from January 2005 to June 2011, who had lived in Xuanwei and Fuyuan counties for many years, were collected from 20 hospitals at the local provincial, municipal and county levels. To estimate survival outcomes, individuals were followed up until the end of 2021. The 5-year, 10-year and 15-year survival rates were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Survival differences were examined with Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox proportional hazards models. Results A total of 3,017 cases were effectively followed up (2,537 peasants and 480 non-peasants). The median age at diagnosis was 57 years, and the median follow-up time was 122 months. During the follow-up period, 2,493 cases (82.6%) died. The distribution of cases by clinical stage was as follows: stage I (3.7%), stage II (6.7%), stage III (15.8%), stage IV (21.1%) and unknown stage (52.7%). Treatment at the provincial, municipal and county-level hospitals accounted for 32.5%, 22.2% and 45.3%, respectively, and surgical treatment was performed in 23.3% of cases. The median survival time was 15.4 months (95%CI: 13.9-16.1), and the 5-year, 10-year and 15-year overall survival rates were 19.5% (95%CI: 18.0%-21.1%), 7.7% (95%CI: 6.5%-8.8%) and 2.0% (95%CI: 0.8%-3.9%), respectively. Peasants with lung cancer had a lower median age at diagnosis, higher proportion residing in remote rural areas, and higher use of bituminous coal as a household fuel. They also have a lower proportion of early-stage cases, treatment at provincial or municipal hospitals, and surgical treatment, leading to poorer survival outcomes (HR=1.57). Even when considering factors such as gender, age, residential location, clinical stage at diagnosis, histological type, hospital level of service, and surgical intervention, peasants still exhibit a survival disadvantage. Multivariable Cox model analysis comparing peasants and non-peasants reveals that surgical intervention, tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage, and hospital level of service are common factors influencing survival prognosis, while the use of bituminous coal as a household fuel, hospital level of service and adenocarcinoma (compared to squamous cell carcinoma) are independent prognostic factors for lung cancer survival among peasants. Conclusion The lower lung cancer survival rate among peasants is associated with their lower socioeconomic status, lower proportion of early-stage diagnoses, lower proportion of surgical interventions, and treatment at provincial-level hospitals. Oligometastasis can be regarded as a transition state between early metastasis and extensive metastasis (limited tumor load, unique tumor biological behavior). Due to the relatively limited number of metastatic foci and the number of affected organs, there is a potential chance of cure after active systemic and local treatment. With the rapid development of molecular targeted drug therapy and immunotherapy, local therapy for oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including oligorecurrence and oligoprogression, has received increasing attention. The spikelet number per panicle is a key factor that constitutes the grain yield in rice. Modern high-yielding rice varieties mostly show high spikelet number per panicle. Increasing the spikelet number per panicle and promoting the formation of large panicles are important ways to improve rice yield. This paper reviewed the relationship between the formation of spikelet number per panicle and young panicle development in rice. Combined with the author's related research, the mechanisms underlying genetic regulation in rice panicle size, the effects of nutritional status and nitrogen fertilizer management, water, temperature, light, and endogenous hormones on the formation of spikelet number per panicle in rice were reviewed. We put forward the future research focus on strengthening the formation of large panicles in rice from the aspects of root morphophysiology and young panicle development, water and nitrogen management, temperature and light conditions, and the physiological and molecular mechanisms of interaction between plant hormones regulating spikelet degeneration. As one of the most common malignant tumors, lung cancer poses a serious threat to human life and health. The platinum-based drug cisplatin (DDP) is used as the first-line treatment for lung cancer. The poor prognosis of lung cancer is mostly due to developed resistance to cisplatin, which poses a serious treatment challenge. The mechanism of cisplatin resistance is complex and unclear. Numerous studies have shown that DNA methylation plays a crucial role in the emergence of lung cancer cisplatin resistance. DNA hypermethylation results in the deactivation of numerous drug resistance genes and tumor suppressor genes through a change in chromatin conformation. Finding new therapeutic targets and indicators to predict the therapeutic effect can be aided by elucidating the complex mechanism. In order to discover novel strategies to overcome cisplatin resistance in lung cancer, this paper discusses DNA methylation-mediated cisplatin resistance and offers an overview of current demethylation procedures. Chemokine-like factor-like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing member/chemokine-like factor superfamily member (CMTM/CKLFSF) including CKLF and CMTM -CMTM8 are a new family of proteins linking chemokines and transmembrane superfamilies. CMTM not only have broad chemotactic activities, but also associate with hematopoietic system, immune system, and tumor development and metastasis closely. CMTM proteins are involved in key biological processes of cancer development, which include activation and recycling of growth factor receptors, cell proliferation and metastasis, and regulation of the tumor immune microenvironment. This is a new focus of research on the relationship between CMTM and tumors, because CMTM4/CMTM6 can be considered as a regulator for programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1). This paper reviews the role of CMTM family members on cancer, especially in tumor growth, metastasis and immune escape, summarize the latest findings on the relationship between CMTM and non-small cell lung cancer, and explores the potential clinical value of CMTM as a novel drug target or biomarker. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) can be detected with enlarged lymph nodes on imaging, but their benignity and malignancy are difficult to determine directly, making it difficult to stage the tumor and design radiotherapy target volumes. The clinical diagnosis of malignant lymph nodes is often based on the short diameter of lymph nodes ≥ cm or the maximum standard uptake value ≥2.5, but the sensitivity and specificity of these criteria are too low to meet the clinical needs. In recent years, many advances have been made in diagnosing benign and malignant lymph nodes using other imaging parameters, and with the development of radiomics, deep learning and other technologies, models of mining the image information of enlarged lymph node regions further improve the diagnostic accuracy. The purpose of this paper is to review recent advances in imaging-based diagnosis of benign and malignant enlarged lymph nodes in NSCLC for more accurate and noninvasive assessment of lymph node status in clinical practice. Consolidation tumor ratio (CTR) is a hot issue in lung cancer imaging studies in recent years. It is defined as the proportion of the maximum consolidation diameter divided by the maximum tumor diameter in the lung window scanned by high resolution computed tomography (HRCT). Many studies have also confirmed that it can be used as an indicator to identify whether a lung tumor is benign or malignant at the early stage, the main basis on which to decide whether sublobectomy can be performed, and is an independent factor for the recurrence and prognosis of early-stage lung cancer. Especially after tumor size and CTR results of JCOG0804 and JCOG0802 trials in Japan were published, a breakthrough in the treatment method upends the conventional surgical approach, which benefits patients with early-stage lung cancer. But insufficient research data on CTR leads to the fact that an evaluation system to measure CTR is yet to be built. This paper discusses the research progress in CTR prediction of benign or malignancy of pulmonary nodules, how to choose a surgical approach, lymph node dissection, spread through air spaces (STAS) and other hot issues. It also investigates the possible indicators to predict efficacy based on CTR, summarizes and analyzes the development trend of surgical methods to treat early-stage peripheral lung cancer and challenges, to provide new ideas for clinical application. Breast cancer and lung cancer are the two most common malignancies in China. With the continuous improvement of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment technology, the survival time of breast cancer patients has been prolonged, and the number of breast cancer patients with second primary lung cancer (SPLC) has increased. In addition, breast cancer is the most common primary cancer in female patients with SPLC, and SPLC is the main cause of death in this population. More and more physicians pay attention to this clinical phenomenon. This paper summarized the risk and risk factors of SPLC in breast cancer patients, and elaborated its pathogenesis, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical management of breast cancer patients and achieve accurate early intervention as soon as possible. The use of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) is the first line treatment for EGFR-mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but drug resistance will be acquired within 1-2 years, and the following treatment efficacy is poor. the invention of programmed cell death 1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitors has dramatically changed the situation of tumor treatment. PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors are less effective in patients with NSCLC harboring EGFR mutation. It is a challenge to make patients with EGFR-mutated advanced NSCLC benefit from anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy.
