Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku akumulace tepla využívající fázové změny sloučeniny hexahydrátu dusičnanu hořečnatého, nonahydrátu dusičnanu hlinitého, tetrahydrátu dusičnanu manganatého a hexahydrátu dusičnanu nikelnatého. Podchlazení a entalpie tání/krystalizace bylo testováno pomocí diferenční skenovací kalorimetrie. Kromě čistých hydrátů byly testovány i směsi s nukleačními činidly, která měla snížit podchlazení. Také se diplomová práce zabývala metodou hydrotermální syntézy, pro obsazení póru zeolitu a aktivního uhlí pomocí hydrátu dusičnanu hořečnatého i chloridu hořečnatého. Dále se práce zabývala úpravou smáčivosti expandovaného grafitu a jeho využití jako nukleačního činidla a látku pro vylepšení vlastností studovaných hydrátů., The thesis focuses on accumulation of the heat energy using phase change materials as magnesium(II) nitrate hexahydrate, aluminium(III) nitrate nonahydrate, manganese(II) nitrate tetrahydrate and nickel(II) nitrate hexahydrate. Subcooling, enthalpy of melting/crystallization has been tested on differential scanning calorimetry. The pure salts as well as mixtures with nucleating agents were tested to prevent subcooling. The thesis also focuses on method of hydrothermal synthesis for occupying the pores of zeolite and activated carbon using magnesium(II) nitrate hexahydrate. Student v mírně delší prezentaci shrnul teoretické základy, výsledky a závěry diplomové práce. Po prezentaci následovalo čtení posudků oponenta a vedoucího diplomové práce, kterým byla přítomná doc. Honcová. Vzhledem k velkému množství dotazů oponenta práce došlo k postupnému čtení jeho dotazů, student na ty dotazy reagoval dobře. Následovaly dotazy přítomných členů komise zaměřené především na stanovení smáčivosti studovaných materiálů, zhodnocení a zpracování některých výsledků a důvody volby konkrétních dusičnanů použitých ke studiu. Different materials, based on an L-rich polylactide (PLA) as matrix, acetyl tri-n-butyl citrate (ATBC) as plasticizer, and mesoporous Mobile Crystalline Material.41 (MCM-41) particles as nucleating agent, were attained by melt extrusion. These materials are constituted by (a) binary blends of PLA and ATBC with different contents of the latest; (b) a dual compound of PLA and a given amount of MCM-41 silica (5 wt.%); and (c) ternary composites that include PLA, ATBC at several compositions and mesoporous MCM-41 at 5 wt.%. Influence of the incorporation of the plasticizer and nucleating particles has been comprehensively analyzed on the different phase transitions: glass transition, cold crystallization, melt crystallization and melting processes. Presence of both additives moves down the temperature at which PLA phase transitions take place, while allowing the PLA crystallization from the melt at 10 °C/min in the composites. This tridimensional ordering is not noticeable in the pristine PLA matrix and, accordingly, PLA crystallization rate is considerably increased under dynamic conditions and also after isothermal crystallization from either the melt or the glassy state. An important synergistic effect of dual action of ATBC and MCM-41 has been, therefore, found.

Selected nitrate hydrates were characterized using X-ray diffraction, helium pycnometer, Calvet-type calorimeter and simultaneous thermogravimetry coupled with differential scanning calorimeter. Melting and crystallization of all studied nitrate hydrates were observed by differential scanning calorimeter, and the supercooling (difference between melting temperature and crystallization temperature) was found to be more than 80, 14 and 37 degrees C for calcium nitrate tetrahydrate, cobalt and nickel nitrate hexahydrates, respectively. Those salts were mixed with selected nucleating agents to suppress supercooling and then tested under repeating of heating-cooling cycles. Calcium nitrate tetrahydrate showed reversible liquid-solid process with addition of CaO, Ca(OH)(2), BaO, Ba(OH)(2)center dot 8H(2)O, graphite and graphene, but the supercooling remains too high, and the enthalpy change significantly decreased. In the case of cobalt nitrate hexahydrate, the CaO, Ba(OH)(2)center dot 8H(2)O and graphite are the most effective nucleating agent in amount of 1 mass%. The supercooling of nickel nitrate hexahydrate was effectively reduced by addition of CaO, Sr(OH)(2) and graphite. The cobalt and nickel nitrates were tested with combination of two nucleating agents (1:1). The best results were obtained for composites with addition of 1 mass% of nucleating agent mixture consisting of both graphite and Ba(OH)(2)center dot 8H(2)O for cobalt nitrate hexahydrate, and CaO with Mg(OH)(2) for nickel nitrate hexahydrate., Vybrané hydráty dusičnanů byly charakterizovány pomocí rentgenové difrakce, heliového pyknometru, kalorimetru Calvetova typu a simultánní termogravimetrie s diferenční skenovací kalorimetrií. Tání a krystalizace všech studovaných hydrátů dusičnanů bylysledovány pomocí DSC a podchlazení (rozdíl mezi teplotou tání a krystalizační teplotou) bylo stanoveno na více než 80, 14 a 37 °C pro dusičnan vápenatý tetrahydrát a dusičnan kobaltnatý a nikelnatý hexahydrát. Tyto soli byly míchány s vybranými nukleačními činidly k potlačení podchlazení a poté testovány opakovanými cykly ohřev- chlazení. Dusičnan vápenatý tetrahydrát poskytuje vratný proces (l)-(s) s přídavkem CaO, Ca(OH)2, BaO, Ba(OH)28H2O, grafitu a grafenu, ale i tak zůstává podchlazení příliš vysoké a zároveň klesá hodnota entalpie sledované fázové změny. V případě dusičnanu kobaltnatého hexahydrátu je nejvhodnějším nukleačním činidlem CaO, Ba(OH)28H2O a grafit a to v přídavku 1 hm%. Podchlazení u dusičnanu nikelnatého hexahydrátu bylo výrazně sníženo přídavkem CaO, Sr(OH)2 a grafitu. Hydrát dusičnanu kobaltnatého a nikelnatého byl testován také s přídavkem dvou nukleačních činidel dohromady (1:1). Nejlepších výsledků bylo dosaženo pro složení s 1 hm% nukleačního činidla tvořeného grafitem a Ba(OH)28H2O pro kobaltnatou sůl a CaO s Mg(OH)2 pro nikelnatou sůl.

The repeating of heating/cooling cycle (75 times) simulating the heat energy storage in magnesium nitrate hexahydrate confirmed supercooling of 27 K, and thus many non-isostructural nucleating agents were tested in concentration of 1 mass% in four charge/discharge cycles. From the whole group, four promising nucleating salts were subjected to detailed study with addition of 0.5, 1, and 2 mass% of nucleating salt. The results show that the addition of Mg(OH)(2), BaO, MgO and Sr(OH)2 suppressed supercooling below 5 K during 50 melting/crystallization cycles. At the similar conditions (temperature range and repeating of heating and cooling), MNH and MNH with 0.5 mass% Mg(OH)(2) or Sr(OH)2 underwent corrosion tests in aluminium alloy tubes to discover applicability of this material for the containers or capsules for heat storage. The long-term contact (> 49 days) of aluminium alloy with melted heat storage material for 664 h provided information about suitability of alloy for storing of magnesium nitrate hexahydrate with nucleating agent., Opakované cykly ohřevu a chlazení (75 cyklů) simulující aplikaci při uchování tepla s čistým hexahydrátem dusičnanu hořečnatého (MNH) ukázaly podchlazení 27 K, které bylo snižováno přidáním 1 hm.% neizostrukturního nukleačního činidla. Směsi s nadějným nukleačním činidlem byly podrobně testovány s přídavky činidla od 0,5 po 2 hm.% a byly charakterizovány fázové změny během 50 cyklů ohřevu/chlazení. Za podobných podmínek (teplotní rozsahy a cykly ohřev/chlazení) byly testovány korozní vlastnosti čistého MNH a jeho směsí s 0,5 hm.% Mg(OH)2 nebo Sr(OH)2 v hliníkových nádobách.

Hexahydrát dusičnanu hořečnatého byl zvolen jako vhodný materiál pro akumulaci tepelné energie díky své teplotě a entalpii tání. Mnohonásobné opakování cyklu ohřev-chlazení vykazuje podchlazení 29,7 K. Z tohoto důvodu byla použita nukleační činidla snižující podchlazení (AlO(OH), BaO, BaO2, Ba(OH)2.8H2O, BaCO3, CaO, Ca(OH)2, CaCO3, MgO, Mg(OH)2, MgCO3,Sr(OH)2 a SrCO3). Jako nejvhodnější nukleátor se jeví hydroxid strontnatý., Magnesium nitrate hexahydrate is suitable compound for the thermal energy storage because of its temperature and enthalpy of fusion. The repeating of heating-cooling cycle showed supercooling of 29.7 K. That is why the group of the promising non-isostructural nucleators (AlO(OH), BaO, BaO2, Ba(OH)2.8H2O, BaCO3, CaO, Ca(OH)2, CaCO3, MgO, Mg(OH)2, MgCO3,Sr(OH)2 a SrCO3) was tested in 1% addition. The strontium hydroxide seems to be the most effective nucleator.

V této práci je studována struktura čistého a nukleovaného izotaktického polypropylenu vzniklá při vysokých rychlostech chlazení. Použitá nukleační činidla byla běžná barviva s specifickou (ftalokyanin a indolon) a nespecifickou (chinakridon) nukleační aktivitou. Kromě barviv bylo použito bezbarvé, komerčně dostupné, nukleační činidlo NJ Star NU-100. Koncentrace zmíněných přísad je 0,1 hm. %. Nukleační aktivita a efektivita jednotlivých látek byla zkoumána a zhodnocena pomocí diferenciální snímací kalorimetrie (DSC) a flash DSC, které umožnilo aplikaci extrémních rychlostí chlazení a dotažení izotermních podmínek. Přítomnost fáze je vidět na záznamech chlazení z flash DSC projevující se krystalizačním píkem mezi rychlostmi chlazení 10800 K/s a to pouze u vzorku s NJ Star NU-100. Záznamy ohřevů získaných pomocí flash DSC nenesou stopy po přítomnosti fáze i přes to, že tání fáze je pozorovatelné na záznamech ohřevu z DSC. Absence fáze je dána nejen vysokými rychlostmi chlazení, ale i vyšší rychlostí krystalizace fáze při daných teplotách izotermní krystalizace nebo aplikovaných rychlostech chlazení při neizotermní krystalizaci. Ukázalo se, že čistý polypropylen přestává krystalizovat při rychlosti chlazení 250 K/s, zatímco krystalizace nukleovaných materiálů prudce klesá až od rychlosti chlazení 600 K/s. Krystalizace zcela ustává při rychlosti chlazení 1200 K/s., Structure of neat and nucleated isotactic polypropylene created under extreme cooling rates is studied in this thesis. The nucleating agents were commonly used colorants with -specific nucleating activity (phtalocyanine and indolone) and non-specific nucleating activi-ty (quinacridone). The fourth nucleating agent is non-coloring commercially available NJ Star NU-100. Concentration of mentioned additives in isotactic polypropylene was 0.1 wt. %. Nucleating ability and efficiency of individual substances was investigated and assessed DSC and flash DSC, which enabled application of extreme cooling rates and iso-thermal conditions. The phase presence in flash DSC records is indicated by crystalliza-tion peak only in non-isothermal cooling of sample with NJ Star NU-100 between cooling rates 10800 K/s. The record of melting obtained from flash DSC did not show evidence of the phase presence, although the phase is present in the DSC records. The absence of the phase is probably caused not only by extreme cooling rates but also by higher crystallization rate of the phase at the given temperatures of isothermal crystallization, or given cooling rates during non-isothermal method. It was found, that neat isotactic polypropylene cease to crystalize at cooling rates of about 250 K/s, while crystallization of nucleating materials disappears at cooling rates of about 600 K/s at which the amount of amorphous material grows. The paper deals with the effects of nucleation on photodegradation of isotactic polypropylene. The starting polymer was modified by a specific alpha-nucleating/clarifying agent Millad 3988 based on 1,3;2,4-bis(3,4-dimethylbenzylidene) sorbitol. Several concentrations were applied. Samples prepared by compression moulding were then exposed to UV-irradiation. Infrared spectroscopy showed that the degradation kinetics is similar for all the samples. Melting and crystallization behaviour of irradiated samples was followed using a differential scanning calorimetry. In all cases UV-irradiation led to decrease of melting/crystallization temperature as a result of polymer degradation. The surface cracking was observed using polarized light microscopy. The network of the surface cracking was significantly different for neat and nucleated samples.

Vzorky připravené lisováním byly poté vystaveny UV-záření v intervalech od 0 do 240 hodin. Rozdíly v morfologii se odrážely v různém fotooxidačním chování. Infračervená spektroskopie ukázala, že čistý polypropylen byl nejvíce citlivý k fotooxidaci a vzorek modifikovaný pouze ?-nukleačním činidlem byl citlivý nejméně. Zbývající dva vzorky vykazovaly střední citlivost. Diferenciální snímací kalorimetrie odhalila, že UV-expozice vede k postupným změnám v krystalizačním mechanismu, které se uplatňují různě u jednotlivých materiálů. Toto chování bylo připsáno homogenní nukleaci částečně zdegradovaných makromolekul.
