Background: Moral distress is a problem and negative experience among health-care professionals. Various instruments have been developed to measure the level and underlying reasons for experienced moral distress. The moral distress thermometer (MDT) is a single-tool instrument to capture the level of moral distress experienced in real-time. Aim: The aim of this study was to translate the MDT and adapt it to the Swedish cultural context. R esearch design: The first part of this study concerns the translation of MDT to the Swedish context, and the second part the psychometric testing of the Swedish version. Participants and research context: 89 healthcare professionals working at a hospital in northern Sweden participated. Convergent validity was tested between MDT and Measure of Moral Distress-Healthcare Professionals (MMD-HP), and construct validity was tested by comparing MDT scores among healthcare professionals. MDT was compared with responses to the final questions in MMD-HP. One-way ANOVA, Welch’s ANOVA, Games–Howell post-hoc test and Pearson’s correlation analysis were done. Ethical considerations: The study was approved by the Swedish Ethics Review Authority (dnr 2020-04120) in accordance with Helsinki Declaration. Results: The translated Swedish version of MDT was described as relevant to capture the experience of moral distress. The mean value for MDT was 2.26, with a median of 2 and a mode value of 0. The result showed moderate correlations between the MDT and MMD-HP total scores. There was a significant difference when comparing MDT and healthcare professionals who had never considered leaving their present position with those who had left and those who had considered leaving but had not done so, with the latter assessing significantly higher moral distress. Conclusion: The MDT is an easily available instrument useful as an extension to MMD-HP to measure the real-time experience of moral distress among healthcare professionals in a Swedish context.

Regarding the methodological design of the works reviewed, there was one literature review article, and the others are field researches. The types of instruments used in the field researches 22, including: questionnaires, inventories, scales, forms, tests, form, and test. The most used instrument was the Maslach Burnout Inventory Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI - 08 studies. Regarding the research participants, there is a predominance of nursing professionals and physicians. In general, the research aims to survey the existence of the the syndrome in question, as well as biopsychosocial factors associated to its occurrence and to the quality of life of the professionals. In view of this reality, it is suggested that research on the syndrome in focus be carried out with other professionals in the health area and not only those cited in this analysis. En cuanto al diseño metodológico de los trabajos revisados, hubo un artículo de revisión de la literatura, y los otros son investigaciones de campo. Los tipos de instrumentos utilizados en las investigaciones de campo 22, incluyendo: cuestionarios, inventarios, escalas, formularios, pruebas, forma y prueba. El instrumento más utilizado fue el Maslach Burnout Inventory Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI - 08 estudios. En cuanto a los participantes de la investigación, predominan los profesionales de enfermería y los médicos. En general, la investigación tiene como objetivo estudiar la existencia del síndrome en cuestión, así como los factores biopsicosociales asociados a su aparición y a la calidad de vida de los profesionales. Aim: We aimed to gain insights into current nutritional management practices of late preterm infants (34–36 weeks gestational age) in Nigeria. Methods: Purposive sampling was employed to recruit 19 healthcare professionals (neonatologists, paediatricians, general practitioners and nurses) involved in the care and nutritional management of late preterm infants in Lagos and Ogun states, Nigeria. Data were collected using interviews, either individually or in small focus groups, between 15 August and 6 September 2022. Thematic analysis of interview transcripts was carried out to interpret the data. Results: Ten distinct themes emerged across the research questions and objectives. For growth monitoring, 11, 6, 1 and 1 of our participants preferred to use the 2006 WHO growth standards, Fenton preterm growth chart, Ballard score and Intergrowth-21, respectively. Regarding the growth velocity of late preterm infants, most healthcare professionals aimed for 15 g/kg BW/day or more during hospitalisation. Breastmilk was unanimously the primary feeding option for late preterm infants. Most healthcare professionals preferred to use international guidelines over local guidelines. Conclusion: Our study shows that there is a wide divergence in the nutritional guidelines used in managing late preterm infants in Nigeria. Regarding growth monitoring, healthcare professionals tended to aim for a growth velocity higher than necessary for late preterm infants, which may be disadvantageous for their long-term health.

Background: Families of children and adolescents with cancer strive to maintain routines and normalcy during the child’s treatment trajectory that requires frequent hospital visits. Intravenous chemotherapy at home can reduce time spent on the frequent hospital visits and mitigate disruption in daily life. Studies on home chemotherapy for children and adolescents with cancer are limited, as is knowledge of family and health care professionals’ needs, and knowledge required to inform adaptation or replication of interventions in other settings. The aim of this study was to develop and describe an evidence-based home chemotherapy intervention that is feasible and safe for children and adolescents and suitable for future feasibility testing. Methods: The Medical Research Council’s guidance for developing complex interventions in health care and the framework of action developed by O’Cathain et al. was used as theoretical frameworks to structure the development process. A literature search, an ethnographic study, and interviews with clinical nurse specialists from adult cancer departments formed the evidence base. Educational learning theory to support and understand the intervention was identified. Stakeholder perspectives were explored in workshops with health care professionals and parent-adolescent interviews. Reporting was qualified using the GUIDED checklist. Results: A stepwise educational program to teach parents how to administer low-dose chemotherapy (Ara-C) to their child at home and a simple and safe administration procedure were developed. Key uncertainties were identified, including barriers and facilitators impacting future testing, evaluation, and implementation. Causal assumptions and reasoning for how the intervention leads to short-term outcomes and long-term impact were clarified in a logic model. Background: Cancer is a major global health problem. Patient-reported outcome (PRO) systems have been developed to support the treatment of patients with cancer. Although clear evidence of the benefits of the routine use of electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs) exists, engaging physicians in using these systems has been challenging. Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze what is currently known about health care professionals’ (HCPs) perceived barriers and facilitators that exist and influence the use of ePRO systems for cancer care. Methods: We carried out a systematic mapping study by conducting searches of 3 databases (Association for Computing Machinery, PubMed, and Scopus). Eligible papers were published between 2010 and 2021, and they described HCPs’ perspectives on using ePROs. The data on the included papers were extracted, a thematic meta-synthesis was performed, and 7 themes were summarized into 3 categories. Results: A total of 17 papers were included in the study. The HCPs’ perceived barriers and facilitators of using ePROs can be summarized into 7 themes: clinical workflow, organization and infrastructure, value to patients, value to HCPs, digital health literacy, usability, and data visualization and perceived features. These themes can be further summarized into 3 categories: work environment, value to users, and suggested features. According to the study, ePROs should be interoperable with hospital electronic health records and adapted to the hospital workflow. HCPs should get appropriate support for their use. Additional features are needed for ePROs, and special attention should be paid to data visualization. Patients should have the option to use web-based ePROs at home and complete it at the time most valuable to the treatment. Patients’ ePRO notes need attention during clinical visits, but ePRO use should not limit patient-clinician face-to-face communication. Conclusions: The study revealed that several aspects need

Background: Patients’ web-based access to their medical records is expected to promote their role and responsibility in managing their own health and treatments and supporting shared decision-making. As of July 2020, general practices in the Netherlands are legally obliged to provide their patients access to their electronic medical records. Web-based access provision is facilitated and stimulated through a national support program named OPEN. Objective: We aimed to investigate general practice staff experiences with providing web-based access; investigate its impact on patient consultations, administrative actions, and patient inquiries; and investigate how it affects routine general practice workflow processes. Methods: In October 2021, a total of 3813 general practices in the Netherlands were invited to complete a web-based survey that included questions regarding their experiences with the provision of web-based access to medical records and how it affects routine general practice workflow. Responses of general practices that started providing web-based access before 2020, in 2020, or in 2021 were analyzed to identify trends. Results: Of 3813 invited general practices, 523 (13.72%) completed the survey. Approximately all responding general practices (487/523, 93.1%) indicated that they provide web-based access. Experiences with patients’ web-based access were diverse, with 36.9% (178/482) primarily positive, 8.1% (39/482) primarily negative, 42.3% (204/482) neutral, and 12.7% (61/482) could not (yet) indicate how they experienced web-based access. Of the total, two-thirds (311/473, 65.8%) reported an increase in e-consultations and a similar percentage (302/474, 63.7%) indicated an increase in administrative actions associated with web-based access provision. Still, knowledge is scarce on the experience of using eHealth tools from the perspective of the health care professional involved in COPD management. Objective: The study explored the experiences of using an eHealth tool among health care professionals that worked with patients with COPD in their daily clinical practice. Methods: This exploratory qualitative study is part of a process evaluation in a parallel group, controlled, pragmatic pilot trial. Semistructured interviews were performed with 10 health care professionals 3 and 12 months after getting access to an eHealth tool, the COPD Web. The COPD Web, developed using cocreation, is an interactive web-based platform that aims to help health care professionals provide health-promoting strategies. Data from the interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach. Results: The main results reflected health care professionals’ experiences in 3 categories: receiving competence support and adjusting practice, improving quality of care, and efforts required for implementation. These categories highlighted that using an eHealth tool such as the COPD Web was experienced to provide knowledge support for health care professionals that led to adaptation and facilitation of working procedures and person-centered care. OBJECTIVE: To be regularly physically active is of major importance for the health of people with metabolic risk factors. Many of these persons are insufficiently active and in need of support. This study aimed to explore barriers and facilitators perceived by health care professionals' within Swedish primary care in their work to support persons with metabolic risk factors to increase their physical activity. DESIGN: A qualitative design with focus group discussions was used. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis with a manifest, inductive approach. SETTING: Primary health care in five Swedish healthcare regions. SUBJECTS: Nine physiotherapists, ten physicians and five nurses participated in six digital focus group discussions including two to six participants. RESULTS: Barriers and facilitators to supporting persons with metabolic risk factors to increase their physical activity were found within four generic categories, where the barriers and facilitators related to each generic category: 'Patient readiness for change', 'Supporting the process of change', 'The professional role', and 'The organisation of primary care'. CONCLUSION: The findings suggests that barriers and facilitators for supporting patients with metabolic risk factors can be found at several levels within primary care, from individual patient and the health care professionals to the organisational level. PURPOSE: The objective of this scoping review is to compile and examine characteristics and impacts of live music interventions on the health and wellbeing of children, families, and health care professionals in paediatric hospital care. METHODS: We searched four scientific databases for peer-reviewed publications of empirical studies of all study designs. The first author screened the publications, with spot-checks for eligibility by the second and third authors. Data extraction and quality assessment were made by the first author with support from the second and third. Additionally, the included studies were screened for quality appraisal. The analysis followed an inductive, interpretive approach for synthesis. RESULTS: Quantitative features were screened and compiled, and qualitative inductive analyses of findings were elaborated into categories connected to research questions. The reported impacts were thematized through emergent features of importance and prerequisites beneficial for successful interventions. BACKGROUND: The trend of an exponential increase in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes (T2D) is projected to continue rising worldwide. Physical activity could help prevent T2D and the progression and complications of the disease. Therefore, we need to create opportunities for individuals to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to self-manage their chronic condition through physical activity. eHealth is a potential resource that could facilitate self-management and thus improve population health. However, there is limited research on users' perception of eHealth in promoting physical activity in primary care settings. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the perspectives of health care professionals and individuals with prediabetes and T2D on eHealth to promote physical activity in primary care. METHODS: A qualitative approach was applied using focus group discussions among individuals with prediabetes or T2D (14 participants in four groups) and health care professionals (10 participants in two groups). The discussions were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Qualitative content analysis was used inductively to code the data. RESULTS: Three main categories emerged: utility, adoption process, and accountability. The utility of eHealth was described as a motivational, entertaining, and stimulating tool. Registration of daily medical measurements and lifestyle parameters in a cohesive digital platform was recognized as a potential resource for strengthening self-management skills. The adoption process includes eHealth to increase the accessibility of care and personalize the support of physical activity. However, participants stated that digital technology might only suit some and could increase health care providers' administrative burden. Accountability refers to the knowledge and skills to optimize eHealth and ensure data integrity and security. BACKGROUND: In Sweden, antenatal and child health care are offered free of charge to all expectant and new parents. Professionals in antenatal and child health care play an important role in supporting parents. Previous research shows that same-sex mothers face heteronormative assumptions and insufficient support during their transition to parenthood. OBJECTIVE: To explore professionals' experiences of supporting two-mother families in antenatal and child health care. METHOD: A qualitative method with focus group discussions was used. An interview guide was followed, and the discussions were held online. The data was analysed according to inductive content analysis. SETTINGS AND PARTICIPANTS: The participants were midwives (n = 8) and nurses (n = 5) in antenatal and child health care from different parts of Sweden. Participants were recruited through the coordinating midwives and child health care nurses in the different regions. FINDINGS: One main category was identified: Striving to be open-minded in supporting same-sex mothers. Health care professionals described meeting well-prepared mothers, with an equal commitment between each other, and mothers on guard against heteronormative views. Professionals provided support through empowerment by creating a safe environment and aiming at providing equal support to all parents or tailored support to same-sex mothers. Mothers described handling challenges, as a balancing act to acknowledge both mothers. Struggling with documents and communication and a lack of information were other challenges to be handled. Professionals reflected on their own professional competence and expressed that knowledge acquired through education, experience and personal interest all contributed to their competence. Bakgrund: Mer än 700 000 liv globalt avslutas årligen till följd av suicid och omkring 45 procent av de som dör till följd av suicid har uppsökt primärvård månaden innan. Få studier har dock belyst vårdpersonalens perspektiv på suicidprevention i primärvård. Syfte: Att belysa hälso- och sjukvårdspersonals erfarenheter av att arbeta med suicidprevention i primärvården. Metod: Litteraturstudie baserad på tio kvalitativa studier. Databassökning genomfördes i Cinahl, PubMed och Scopus. Analysen genomfördes med inspiration av Fribergs analysmodell. Resultat: Av analysen framkom att hälso- och sjukvårdpersonal upplevde både hindrande och underlättande faktorer i arbetet med suicidprevention i primärvård. Låg kunskapsnivå, brist på utbildning, resursbrist, tidsbrist och avsaknad av riktlinjer utgjorde de huvudsakliga utmaningarna. Background: The use of digital communication in Swedish health care has increased in an effort to make health care more accessible. At the organizational level, trust in digitalization has stabilized, but a certain degree of skepticism regarding technology appears to exist among health care employees.Objective: This study aimed to explore health care professionals' (HCPs) experiences of digital communication with patients and colleagues in a habilitation context.Methods: Qualitative content analysis was used to analyze data derived from individual interviews.Results: The results revealed that there were mixed feelings regarding the digital format used at the habilitation center. Although some skepticism remained regarding the digital format, there seemed to be a parallel understanding of the motives and benefits of digitalization. Hence, positive aspects, such as increased health care accessibility, were identified. However, emphasis was placed on the considerations required to make digital consultations appropriate for each patient.Conclusions: Managing a workday influenced by the balance between digital and physical demands forces HCPs to adjust to the digital format and new ways of working. This requires HCPs to consider whether digital means are appropriate for communication in individual patient-specific cases.

This paper describes the changes in communication skills, knowledge and confidence in Speech Language Therapy (SLT) students in conversations with People With Aphasia (PWA) after Training Con-tAct, a Dutch Communication Partner Training. Methods: On a voluntary basis, nine SLT students (2nd yr) completed Training Con-tAct, in which People With Aphasia (PWA) were involved as co-workers. A mixed method design with pre- and post-measures was used to analyze the students’ communication skills, knowledge and confidence. A quantitative video analysis was used to measure changes in students’ communication skills. Besides, a self-report questionnaire was used to measure the changes in students’ knowledge and confidence regarding their communication with PWA. To evaluate the perspectives of the students on Training Con-tAct, additionally a focus group interview was held. Results: Regarding students’ communication skills the outcomes revealed a significantly higher score on the ‘supporting’ competence in students who took part in Training Con-tAct. The mean scores for the ‘acknowledging’ and ‘checking information’ competences did not improve significantly. The outcomes of the questionnaire showed students gained more knowledge and confidence regarding communication with PWA. The focus group interview provided insights into: motivation for participating in Communication Partner Training, content and structure of the training, feedback in CPT, and learning experiences. Conclusion: The present study suggests that SLT students may benefit from Training Con-tAct as the training leads to better skills, more knowledge about aphasia and more confidence in communicating with PWA. Training Con-tAct could be a valuable addition to the curricula of all healthcare disciplines, and eventually support interprofessional collaboration, resulting in improved access to health care, which is important for communication vulnerable people. METHODS: This exploratory qualitative study is part of a process evaluation in a parallel group, controlled, pragmatic pilot trial. The COPD Web, developed using cocreation, is an interactive web-based platform that aims to help health care professionals provide health-promoting strategies. PURPOSE: The objective of this scoping review is to compile and examine characteristics and impacts of live music interventions on the health and wellbeing of children, families, and health care professionals in paediatric hospital care. METHODS: We searched four scientific databases for peer-reviewed publications of empirical studies of all study designs. The first author screened the publications, with spot-checks for eligibility by the second and third authors. Data extraction and quality assessment were made by the first author with support from the second and third. Additionally, the included studies were screened for quality appraisal. The analysis followed an inductive, interpretive approach for synthesis. RESULTS: Quantitative features were screened and compiled, and qualitative inductive analyses of findings were elaborated into categories connected to research questions. The reported impacts were thematized through emergent features of importance and prerequisites beneficial for successful interventions. The global coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic put extreme pressure on healthcare systems worldwide, forcing a heavy workload on healthcare professionals. Frontline treatment and care for patients with coronavirus disease 2019 compelled healthcare professionals to rapidly adapt to new working conditions. This study explores the experiences of frontline healthcare professionals to learn more about how frontline work affects their learning and skills development but also interprofessional collaboration during a pandemic. Methods In-depth, one-to-one semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 healthcare professionals. A broad interdisciplinary group, the participants were employed in public hospitals in four of Denmark’s five regions. Using a reflexive methodology for the data analysis allowed reflexive interpretation when interpreting subjects and interpreting the interpretation. Results The study identified two empirical themes: into the unknown and in the same boat, which we critically interpreted using learning theory and theory on interprofessionalism. The study found that the healthcare professionals moved from being experts in their own fields to being novices in the frontline of the pandemic, and then back to being experts based on interprofessional collaboration that included shared reflection. Working in the frontline was imbued with a unique atmosphere in which workers were equals and functioned interdependently, the barriers normally obstructing interprofessional collaboration set aside to focus on combating the pandemic. DESIGN: A qualitative design with focus group discussions was used. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis with a manifest, inductive approach. SETTING: Primary health care in five Swedish healthcare regions. SUBJECTS: Nine physiotherapists, ten physicians and five nurses participated in six digital focus group discussions including two to six participants. RESULTS: Barriers and facilitators to supporting persons with metabolic risk factors to increase their physical activity were found within four generic categories, where the barriers and facilitators related to each generic category: 'Patient readiness for change', 'Supporting the process of change', 'The professional role', and 'The organisation of primary care'. CONCLUSION: The findings suggests that barriers and facilitators for supporting patients with metabolic risk factors can be found at several levels within primary care, from individual patient and the health care professionals to the organisational level. The adoption process includes eHealth to increase the accessibility of care and personalize the support of physical activity. However, participants stated that digital technology might only suit some and could increase health care providers' administrative burden. Accountability refers to the knowledge and skills to optimize eHealth and ensure data integrity and security. Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most common and deadliest chronic diseases of the 21st century. eHealth tools are seen as a promising way of supporting health care professionals in providing evidence-based COPD care, for example, by reinforcing information and interventions provided to the patients and providing easier access and support to the health care professional themselves. Still, knowledge is scarce on the experience of using eHealth tools from the perspective of the health care professional involved in COPD management. Objective: The study explored the experiences of using an eHealth tool among health care professionals that worked with patients with COPD in their daily clinical practice. Methods: This exploratory qualitative study is part of a process evaluation in a parallel group, controlled, pragmatic pilot trial. Semistructured interviews were performed with 10 health care professionals 3 and 12 months after getting access to an eHealth tool, the COPD Web. The COPD Web, developed using cocreation, is an interactive web-based platform that aims to help health care professionals provide health-promoting strategies. Data from the interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach. Results: The main results reflected health care professionals’ experiences in 3 categories: receiving competence support and adjusting practice, improving quality of care, and efforts required for implementation. These categories highlighted that using an eHealth tool such as the COPD Web was experienced to provide knowledge support for health care professionals that led to adaptation and facilitation of working procedures and person-centered care. Taken together, these changes were perceived to improve the quality of care through enhanced patient contact and encouragement of interprofessional collaboration. Bakgrund: Mer än 700 000 liv globalt avslutas årligen till följd av suicid och omkring 45 procent av de som dör till följd av suicid har uppsökt primärvård månaden innan. Få studier har dock belyst vårdpersonalens perspektiv på suicidprevention i primärvård. Syfte: Att belysa hälso- och sjukvårdspersonals erfarenheter av att arbeta med suicidprevention i primärvården. Metod: Litteraturstudie baserad på tio kvalitativa studier. Databassökning genomfördes i Cinahl, PubMed och Scopus. Analysen genomfördes med inspiration av Fribergs analysmodell. Resultat: Av analysen framkom att hälso- och sjukvårdpersonal upplevde både hindrande och underlättande faktorer i arbetet med suicidprevention i primärvård. Låg kunskapsnivå, brist på utbildning, resursbrist, tidsbrist och avsaknad av riktlinjer utgjorde de huvudsakliga utmaningarna. Emellertid upplevdes fungerande teamarbete, tydlig ansvarsfördelning, lättillgänglig specialistvård, intuition och lång arbetslivserfarenhet som underlättande faktorer. Konklusion: För att förebygga suicid krävs ett systematiskt arbete samt förbättrad samverkan mellan instanser för att öka patientsäkerheten. Aim: To illuminate health care professionals’ experiences of suicide prevention within primary care. Method: A literature study consisting of ten qualitative studies. Articles were found using Cinahl, PubMed and Scopus. Analysis was then performed with inspiration from Friberg's analytical model. Results: Findings suggest that health care professionals experienced both barriers and facilitators working with suicide prevention in primary care. Insufficient knowledge and education, lack of resources, time pressure and lack of guidelines were perceived as the main challenges. However, teamwork, clear division of responsibilities, easy access to specialist care, intuition and extensive clinical experience were seen as facilitators. Conclusion: To prevent suicide, a systematic approach and improved collaboration between primary and specialist care are needed. By adopting measures to correct perceived flaws in primary care, the number of suicides could be reduced.

Background: Many people attending primary care (PC) have anxiety-depressive symptoms and work-related burnout compounded by a lack of resources to meet their needs. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this problem, and digital tools have been proposed as a solution. Objective: We aimed to present the development, feasibility, and potential effectiveness of Vickybot, a chatbot aimed at screening, monitoring, and reducing anxiety-depressive symptoms and work-related burnout, and detecting suicide risk in patients from PC and health care workers. Methods: Healthy controls (HCs) tested Vickybot for reliability. For the simulation study, HCs used Vickybot for 2 weeks to simulate different clinical situations. For feasibility and effectiveness study, people consulting PC or health care workers with mental health problems used Vickybot for 1 month. Self-assessments for anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item) and depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9) symptoms and work-related burnout (based on the Maslach Burnout Inventory) were administered at baseline and every 2 weeks. Feasibility was determined from both subjective and objective user-engagement indicators (UEIs). Potential effectiveness was measured using paired 2-tailed t tests or Wilcoxon signed-rank test for changes in self-assessment scores. Results: Overall, 40 HCs tested Vickybot simultaneously, and the data were reliably transmitted and registered. For simulation, 17 HCs (n=13, 76{\%} female; mean age 36.5, SD 9.7 years) received 98.8{\%} of the expected modules. Suicidal alerts were received correctly. For the feasibility and potential effectiveness study, 34 patients (15 from PC and 19 health care workers; 76{\%} [26/34] female; mean age 35.3, SD 10.1 years) completed the first self-assessments, with 100{\%} (34/34) presenting anxiety symptoms, 94{\%} (32/34) depressive symptoms, and 65{\%} (22/34) work-related burnout. BACKGROUND: In Sweden, antenatal and child health care are offered free of charge to all expectant and new parents. Professionals in antenatal and child health care play an important role in supporting parents. Previous research shows that same-sex mothers face heteronormative assumptions and insufficient support during their transition to parenthood. OBJECTIVE: To explore professionals' experiences of supporting two-mother families in antenatal and child health care. METHOD: A qualitative method with focus group discussions was used. An interview guide was followed, and the discussions were held online. The data was analysed according to inductive content analysis. SETTINGS AND PARTICIPANTS: The participants were midwives (n = 8) and nurses (n = 5) in antenatal and child health care from different parts of Sweden. Participants were recruited through the coordinating midwives and child health care nurses in the different regions. FINDINGS: One main category was identified: Striving to be open-minded in supporting same-sex mothers. Health care professionals described meeting well-prepared mothers, with an equal commitment between each other, and mothers on guard against heteronormative views. Professionals provided support through empowerment by creating a safe environment and aiming at providing equal support to all parents or tailored support to same-sex mothers. Mothers described handling challenges, as a balancing act to acknowledge both mothers. Struggling with documents and communication and a lack of information were other challenges to be handled. Professionals reflected on their own professional competence and expressed that knowledge acquired through education, experience and personal interest all contributed to their competence. CONCLUSIONS: Forms and documentation need to be updated to be gender neutral to be including to a variety of family constelleations. Artiklarna kvalitetsgranskades Resultat Resultatet sammanställdes i fyra huvudkategorier: Upplevelser av stigmatisering och diskriminering, upplevelser av kommunikation, upplevelser av relationen mellan patient och vårdpersonal samt upplevelser av bemötande. Upplevelser av respekt och tillit visades vara det mest centrala för att uppnå en relation med vårdpersonal samt för att uppleva en god kommunikation och ett gott bemötande. Fördomar, förutfattade meningar och diskriminerande handlingar visade sig utgöra ett hinder för detta. Slutsats Denna litteraturöversikt visade att patientupplevelser av vårdmöten var komplexa. Upplevelser som skildrades i resultatet visade att patienter som kände sig sedda som personer utöver sin sjukdom, blev behandlade med respekt eller kände tillit till personalen upplevde vårdmöten som positiva. Resultatet visade även upplevelser som utgjorde hinder för ett positivt vårdmöte. The data was obtained from the databases PubMed and CINAHL. The articles were quality-reviewed based on Sophiahemmet University's assessment basis for scientific classification. The results from the articles were categorized, collated, and analyzed using an integrated data analysis. Results The results were compiled into four main categories: Experiences of stigmatization and discrimination, experiences of communication, experiences of the relationship between patient and health care professionals and experiences of treatment. Experiences of respect and trust were shown to be the most central in encounters to achieve a relationship with healthcare professionals with communication and treatment of good quality. Prejudice, preconceptions, and discriminatory actions proved to be obstacles of positive experiences. Conclusions This literature review showed that patient experiences of healthcare encounters were complex. Experiences in the results suggested that patients who felt seen as individuals beyond their illness, were treated with respect and trusted health care professionals had positive experiences. Aims and objectives To describe healthcare professionals' perceptions of person-centred care for patients with colorectal cancer, within the standardised care concept of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery. Background International guidelines for colorectal surgery describe standardised perioperative care. Combining standardised care with person-centred care could be accomplished using the person-centred nursing framework for establishing and maintaining relationships with patients. Despite strong evidence for the standardised care concepts' medical benefits, studies concerning the practice of person-centred care from a nursing point of view are sparse. Design A qualitative descriptive design was used. Methods Four focus groups interviews were performed including 22 healthcare professionals with 1-29 years' experience of caring for patients with colorectal cancer. Data were analysed using qualitative conventional content analysis. The COREQ checklist for reporting qualitative research was used. Results Three themes emerged in the analysis; Framework in the healthcare system, Facing differences in participation and Interacting with the person beyond the illness. Conditions for person-centred care were related to the interactions between patients and healthcare professionals, the structure of care were also considered relevant. Conclusion There is a discrepancy between what is considered important to do and what is done in clinical practice to create conditions for patient participation. Interacting with patients and creating an interprofessional environment are important conditions, the structure of care is also a fundamental key to promoting person-centred care. There is a need for further improvement in care of patients with colorectal cancer to achieve person-centredness within standardised care. Purpose: The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the working, personal and health conditions of health professionals has been highlighted, although it is necessary to verify whether certain instruments used in research on this topic have sufficient psychometric support for their use. This need was the main motivation for undertaking the present study. We aimed to analyse the psychometric properties of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9) in a sample of active health care workers during the pandemic. Patients and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from March to August 2020 with 2326 active health care workers (78.7% women). The instruments that were applied included the UWES-9 scale, the Sense of Coherence scale (SOC-13), the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) and an item on self-perceived health. Results: The three-factor structure related to the correlation of pairs of errors presented the best fit. The reliability of the UWES-9 was highlighted by the adequate internal consistency of the items, the existence of invariance according to gender, and its convergent and discriminant validity. Conclusion: The findings of this work support the use of the UWES-9 to assess the work engagement of health personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic and identify it as an adequate measure of this psychological variable and the constructs that comprise it.

Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of unhealthy gestational weight gain and analyze the role of women ́s knowledge about the recommendations, expectations, beliefs, counseling, and information pro- vided by midwives as potential factors contributing to failure to meet recommendations. Research design/setting: A retrospective cross-sectional study was performed in a tertiary Hospital in Seville (Spain) between March and September 2019. A sample of 500 singleton pregnant women at or over 37 weeks of gestation completed a self-administered questionnaire during a prenatal visit. Gestational weight gain was categorized as healthy/excessive/inadequate, according to the Institute of Medicine, for 409 women. Descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate analysis was performed. Findings: Inadequate and excessive gestational weight gain were 33.4% and 33.9%, respectively. A multi- variate model for excessive gestational weight gain showed pre-gestational body mass index was a risk factor, while exercise and believing the weight gain was healthy were protective factors. The model for inadequate gestational weight gain showed knowledge of recommendations was a protective factor while believing gestational weight was healthy was a risk factor. Key conclusions: Unhealthy gestational weight gain is common. Inadequate gain from women with healthy pre-pregnancy body mass index who believed their gain was healthy, was almost as common as excessive gestational weight gain. As shown by our predictive model beliefs regarding healthy gestational weight gain may act either as a protective factor, in the excessive gain model, or as a risk factor, in the inadequate gain model, depending on women ́s pre-pregnancy body mass index and despite knowledge of the recommendations. Implications for practice: Inadequate weight gain, and not only excessive gain, should be properly ad- dressed during pregnancy. Objetivo Evaluar la incidencia de ganancia de peso gestacional no saludable y analizar el papel del conocimiento de las mujeres sobre las recomendaciones, creencias, asesoramiento e información proporcionada por los PS, así como recabada por la gestante, como factores potenciales que contribuyen al incumplimiento de las recomendaciones. Metodología Se realizó un estudio de cohorte retrospectivo entre marzo y septiembre de 2019. Una muestra de 500 mujeres con gestación única mayor de 37 semanas completó un cuestionario autoadministrado durante una visita prenatal al hospital. El aumento de peso gestacional se calculó con los datos de la Historia Única de Salud, y se clasificó como saludable / excesivo / insuficiente, según el Instituto de Medicina, para 409 mujeres. Se realizó análisis descriptivo, bivariado y multivariado. Resultados Las proporciones de aumento de peso gestacional insuficiente y excesivo fueron 33,4% y 33,9%, respectivamente.
