Purpose: The development of digital era tourism has become the main trend related to the development of tourism based on smart tourism. The synergy of the triple helix actors, namely the Government, the community and young people (millennials) in order to support the successful implementation of smart tourism is the main key apart from infrastructure issues and qualified technological support. Theoretical Framework: The hope of conducting this research is to map out in detail the smart village from the point of view of the functions of the government, society, and the millennial generation in smart tourism in Trimulyo Village, West Lampung Regency. The smart village concept is a collaborative use of digital technology, community empowerment and sustainable development in the context of development in rural areas. Within this framework, the Triplehelix actors who are the main subjects of this research are actively involved in decision making, developing a creative economy based on local wisdom, and developing sustainable resources. Methods: This research is supported and studied with a descriptive qualitative method. All information is collected from the results of interviews, field observations and document analysis. Results: This research presents important documents from a smart village, including education and training, digital-based infrastructure, local economic development and sustainable resource management. The results of this study are the involvement of Triplehelix actors in smart villages showing positive results, including the creation of sustainable, smart and empowering tourist destinations. Conclusions: This research makes an important contribution to understanding how the smart village framework increases the participation of Triplehelix actors in smart tourism in Trimulyo Village, Gedung Surian District, West Lampung Regency.

Purpose: The current research analyzes the local government’s functions in developing a village into a tourism destination. Theoretical framework: Using a qualitative data interaction model as the underpinning theoretical framework, which was presented by Miles et al. (2014), to accomplish this, this current research conducts a componential interactive data analysis model. Design/methodology/approach: This research used Ryaas Rasyid’s concepts of regulatory function, service function, empowerment function and development function. These functions’ implementation was viewed from Cooper’s theory of tourism object components. The research used the descriptive method with a qualitative approach, applying field studies, observations, interviews, and documentation for data collection. Findings: It has been revealed that the obstacles include: no regional regulations yet regarding tourist villages; lack of competent human resources; lack of promotional activities; lack of government support; lack of coordination between stakeholders; insufficient tourism facilities and infrastructure; and lack of guidance to tourism development actors by local governments. In overcoming it, local governments are making efforts to improve the quality of human resources, increase promotional activities through the internet as well as repackage tourist attractions activities; coordinate between sectors in planning and implementation, allocate funds to establish appropriate tourism facilities and infrastructure; offering more guidance to the community and tourism business actors and also allocating special funds for the construction of road access to the Dermaji Village as a tourism destination. Research, Practical & Social implications: The implication drawn from this research helps the researchers and stakeholders develop a Tourist Village to encourage local development and increase the welfare and prosperity of the local community. This community service program is located in Pupuan Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, with activity partners being Pokdarwis Pupuan Village. The problems faced by partners are the low capacity of human resources in the development and management of tourist villages, the lack of involvement of stakeholders involved in the development of Pupuan Village, the lack of synergy between tourism stakeholders in Pupuan Village, and the absence of tourism village branding for marketing tourism products. The solutions included 1) providing training on tourism village planning and management, 2) Focus Group Discussions and assistance in the framework of establishing synergy between stakeholders, 3) assistance in forming supra-village networks to design tourism village branding. The implementation of training related to planning and governance of tourist villages was enthusiastically attended by Pokdarwis members, village officials, regional heads (Kadus), representatives of traditional villages, and Bumdes staff. Evaluation of the results of the training shows that the training participants have experienced an increase in knowledge with the ability to identify tourist attractions and develop development strategies. The Focus Group Discussion activity also succeeded in agreeing on the branding of a tourist village, namely the Beauty of North Ubud. Coordination with the supra-village network resulted in a village website which was facilitated by the Gianyar Regency Digital Ambassador and the Gianyar Regency Communications and Informatics Service., Program pengabdian masyarakat ini berlokasi di Desa Pupuan, Kecamatan Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, dengan mitra kegiatan adalah Pokdarwis Desa Pupuan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu kapasitas sumber daya manusia yang masih rendah dalam pengembangan dan pengelolaan desa wisata, kurangnya keterlibatan stakeholder yang terlibat dalam pengembangan Desa Pupuan, kurangnya sinergi antar stakeholder kepariwisataan di Desa Pupuan, dan tidak adanya branding desa wisata untuk pemasaran produk wisata. Solusi yang dilakukan meliputi 1) memberikan pelatihan perencanaan dan tata kelola desa wisata, 2) Focus Group Discussion dan pendampingan dalam rangka pembentukan sinergitas antar pemangku kepentingan, 3) pendampingan dalam pembentukan jejaring supra desa untuk merancang branding desa wisata. Pelaksanaan pelatihan terkait perencanaan dan tata kelola desa wisata diikuti secara antusias oleh anggota Pokdarwis, perangkat desa, kepala wilayah (Kadus), perwakilan desa adat, dan staf Bumdes. Evaluasi hasil pelatihan menunjukan peserta pelatihan sudah mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dengan kemampuan mengidentifikasi daya tarik wisata dan menyusun strategi pengembangan. Kegiatan Focus Group Discussion juga berhasil menyepakati branding desa wisata yaiut the Beauty of North Ubud. Koordinasi dengan jejaring supra desa menghasilkan website desa yang difasilitasi oleh Duta Digital Kabupaten Gianyar dan Dinas Kominfo Kabupaten Gianyar.

Village tourism is one of the great potentials in improving the village. The use of online media to increase the promotion of village tourism has been used by pokdarwis to support the increase in village tourism. However, the human resources of Pokdarwis Tridadi members shining brightly Kalurahan Tridadi have not been able to create and manage online media websites properly. It is necessary to conduct a training for pokdarwis members in Kalurahan Tridadi. The purpose of this service is to create a web and provide training and assistance to pokdarwis members to be able to manage website-based tourist content. The participants in this service were as many as 10 pokdarwis members. The method of applying science and technology carried out is in the form of training and assistance in managing website-based tourist content. The results of the activity showed an increase in understanding of the potential of tourism villages. Abstrak Pariwisata desa menjadi salah satu potensi besar dalam peningkatan desa. Penggunaan media online untuk meningkatkan promosi wisata desa sudah digunakan oleh pokdarwis untuk menunjang peningkatan pariwisata desa. Namun SDM anggota Pokdarwis Tridadi Bersinar Terang Kalurahan Tridadi belum dapat membuat dan mengelola media online website dengan baik. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan sebuah pelatihan bagi anggota pokdarwis di Kalurahan Tridadi. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk membuat web dan memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan terhadap anggota pokdarwis untuk dapat mengelola konten wisata berbasis website. Peserta dalam pengabdian ini adalah sebanyak 10 anggota pokdarwis. Metode penerapan ipteks yang dilakukan adalah berbentuk pelatihan dan pendampingan pengelolaan konten wisata berbasis website. This paper aims to examine how library in a tourism village is able to help local residents to survive in the pandemic era as well as to progress to edu-tourism attraction. Since 2016, Kampung Wisata Lawas Maspati (Old Tourism Village of Maspati) has been one of featured destinations in Surabaya. The COVID-19 pandemic then brought tremendous undesirable impacts on the village. This community-based tourism village has experienced plunging number of visitors, which greatly impacted the community. To attain the research goal, qualitative research design was used in this study. In-depth interview was conducted with the residents and administrators of the tourism village. Results suggest that despite the low number of visitors, administrators and people in Kampung Lawas Maspati have made a breakthrough by reactivating the library self-subsistently or with their own resources. This library ultimately became one of tourism village’s strategies to survive. Many locals used the library as a public space to seek information or share information to each other. An interesting aspect was the internet connection facility added to the library soon transformed it to a ‘school’ for children and helped people with their information searching. Furthermore, the library in Kampung Wisata Lawas Maspati is more directed to and accentuates the educational elements known as edu-tourism.

However, the increase of tourist visitation is not occurred evenly. Only several tourism villages are having high visitation rate, others are still struggling in competing with other tourism destinations. Previous study found that tourist satisfaction is leading on visit intention. Therefore, this study investigated factors determinant on tourist satisfaction and dissatisfaction of tourism village. A content analysis was adopted in this study by extracting of 464 tourist reviews that posted from January 2016 until October 2019. Data were collected from tourist review on TripAdvisor regarding nine tourism villages in Indonesia. NVivo 12 was used to analyse the data. The results revealed top 5 satisfaction determinant attributes: village landscape, friendliness local people, traditional building, traditional way of life, and village atmosphere. Meanwhile, dissatisfy tourist mention traditional souvenir, village atmosphere, village authenticity, village entrance fee, and the local people who become souvenir seller as the top 5 dissatisfaction attributes.

Each country is currently focusing on developing tourism, considering its impact on economic growth and people’s welfare. Yogyakarta is one of the regions with diverse tourist destinations. The majority of tourist destinations in Yogyakarta city promote arts and culture as tourism icons, including tourism village destinations. However, tourism villages in the city have not fully received tourist attention. Therefore, solutions are required to be found to optimize tourism management and significantly increase the number of tourist visits. This paper aimed to describe the interaction between the government, the tourism industry, higher education institution, media, society, and environment in the tourism village management in Yogyakarta city. The discussion results describe that tourism village management requires synergistic interaction from some elements covering the government, tourism industry, higher education institution, media, society, and environment. The interaction can at least be a solution in improving the quality of tourism village management. Triple-Helix focuses on interactions among higher education institution, industry, and government on innovation. Quadruple-Helix adds the fourth helix, namely culture and media-based public. Quintuple-Helix is a collaboration of elements contained in the Quadruple-Helix with the addition of the natural environment of society. Penta-Helix adds the media element. With the presence of the government, tourism industry, higher education institution, media, society, and environment that interact with each other, the management of tourism villages in Yogyakarta city becomes more optimal and attract more tourists to visit.

The aim of the study is to investigate the position of local wisdom values of Balinese indigenous people in the policy via a qualitative method with anthropological and sociological approaches. The findings show that Balinese indigenous people through social-religious organizations (traditional villages) can manage management of tourist villages in Bali by using modern management by increasing human resources in traditional values-based traditional villages in Bali with village Awig-awig laws adat. In conclusion, the importance of managing traditional village-based tourist villages provides opportunities for indigenous villages to increase human resources in the management of tourist villages.

This study aims to find out how leadership roles, motivations and community participation in realizing tourism destinations are competitive. This research was conducted in Pinge Tourism Village, Tabanan Regency. The data source is primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from interviews with the Pinge Tourism Village community who were in productive age and secondary data obtained from the archives and documentation of Pinge Tourism Village. The characteristics of respondents are presented with descriptive statistical methods and data analysis techniques using PLS (Partial Least Squares) methods. The research conducted illustrates that the majority of the population of Pinge Tourism Village work in the informal sector (day labor) and agriculture. The choice of profession is related to the level of education that the most of the them at the junior and senior high school levels. The results of the analysis showed that the motivation of the community, the leadership that applied the concept of "Asta Brata" and community participation showed a positive and significant effect on competitive tourist destinations. Community participation mediates the influence of leadership and community motivation on competitive tourist destinations partially. Community participation increases the influence of leadership on competitive tourist destinations from 0.351 to 0.449 and increases the influence of motivation on competitive tourist destinations from 0.328 to 0.420. Community motivation, participation and implementation of "Asta Brata" concept by leaders in the Pinge Tourism Village, need to be improved continuously to realize a competitive tourism village

This is because mass tourism changed the emphasis onto nature and cultural tourism so that rural tourism became interesting to tourists. This paper aims to study the development of rural tourism in Yogyakarta in terms of mileage, geographical conditions, period of growth and tourist attractions. Descriptive analysis is used to identify the influence factors based on distribution of location, historical factors, and cultural and geographical conditions in tourism villages in Yogyakarta. Rural tourism in Yogyakarta has been growing since the year 2000. The dominant attraction is related to cultural tourism based on community participation. Research results show that geographic condition and local cultural tradition, which support the traditional daily income of the local community, became the determinant factors in sustaining the touristic village of Yogyakarta.

The experience of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) province proves that the development of tourism villages contribute in promoting “the power” of Indonesia through art, culture, custom and food to international society. Tourism Villages that located at Sleman, Bantul, Gunungkidul, Kulonprogo and city of Yogyakarta (called as tourism kampong) succeeded in attracting foreigners to stay and live as villagers, enjoy villagers daily live and learn Javanese culture. The study was conducted by observation and interviews. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative techniques. Data categorized and given a qualitative analysis of narrative. This research showed that tourism village is a new kind of tourism object that produce a new close relationship between Indonesian people and foreigners, functioned as a tool to make foreigners love Indonesia, prolong their stay in Indonesia, and promote Indonesian culture when they come back to their country. DIY’s experience is a best practice for other provinces in Indonesia to develop and promote its own distinctive tradition and culture through tourism villages. Finally, this effort will contribute in supporting Indonesia soft power.

This research aims to avoid a stagnant situation in terms of developing Sagori Island as an English Camp-based tourism village which is stand as a grand plan of the corporation between Universities Sembilanbelas November Kolaka and Kabupaten Bombana. To achieve the research objectives, this research was done under mix research method by using three different analysis techniques. First, Guidelines Analysis of Operational Area of Natural Tourism Object and Attraction of Directorate General of Forest Preservation and Natural Conservation 2003 was using for analyzing the potency of the Sagori Island. Second, SWOT analysis technique was using for determining the external and internal factors of Sagori Island. Third, participatory rural appraisal technique was using for analyzing the readiness of the Sugar’s resident. The result of the research showed that Sagori Island is feasible developed into the tourism village based English Camp by applied aggressive strategy and prioritize the participation of residents.

[RESUMO]Estratégia de desenvolvimento turístico do vale do Alva: Alvaland. O rio Alva desenvolve-se na encosta sudoeste da Serra da Estrela em pleno Parque Natural, estendendo-se desde a aldeia do Sabugueiro, no concelho de Seia, até ao concelho de Penacova, onde desagua no rio Mondego. Este rio escavou o seu leito por um caminho sinuoso, que possui uma extensão aproximada a 106 quilómetros e criou um vale de uma beleza natural muito valorizada pelos visitantes, começando na apreciação das águas límpidas e frescas do Alva, a partir dos socalcos verdejantes que envolvem o rio, e projetando a vista de quem observa a linha do horizonte em admiração pelo conjunto de montanhas que ladeiam este vale majestoso. É o seu enorme potencial turístico que nos conduz a equacionar a sustentabilidade deste território de baixa densidade, que tem o seu “coração” na região da Beira Serra. Assim, reconhecemos dois produtos turísticos potenciadores de estratégias de desenvolvimento a nível regional: turismo de natureza e turismo cultural. The river Alva develops in the southwest slope of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, extends from the village of Sabugueiro in Seia county to the county of Penacova, where flows into the river Mondego. It has a length of approximately 106 kilometers and creates a valley with a natural beauty valued by visitors, starting in appreciation the clear and fresh water of Alva, from fertile terraces that surround the river, and projecting the view of those who see the skyline in admiration of the set of mountains that flank this majestic valley. Is your enormous tourism potential that leads us to equate the sustainability of this area of low density, which has its "heart" in the region of Beira Serra. Thus, we recognize two tourism products enhancers’ development strategies at regional level: nature tourism and cultural tourism. A detailed inventory of local resources with a view to understanding the tourist potential becomes an essential step towards the definition of tourism products, which can determine the vocation and the tourist image of this region, which we called as Alvaland.
