- Abstract
There are thirteen letters in this collection dating from March 9, 1785, to January 8, 1789. All the letters are addressed to Col. Jeremiah Wadsworth, Esq. in Hartford, CT, except for one that is addressed to Miss Harriet Wadsworth, Jeremiah’s daughter. Crèvecoeur wrote while acting as French Consul in New York. There is also one letter written by Natan Shaler, Wadsworth’s agent in New York, on Crèvecoeur’s behalf. The collection also contains transcriptions of the letters. The letters have been arranged chronologically. Transcriptions of the letters are arranged in the same order in a separate folder.
