- Abstract
Objectives: Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) are important for the diagnosis of various autoimmune diseases. ANA are usually detected by indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) using HEp-2 cells (HEp-2 IFA). There are many variables influencing HEp-2 IFA results, such as subjective visual reading, serum screening dilution, substrate manufacturing, microscope components and conjugate. Newer developments on ANA testing that offer novel features adopted by some clinical laboratories include automated computer-assisted diagnosis (CAD) systems and solid phase assays (SPA). Methods: A group of experts reviewed current literature and established recommendations on methodological aspects of ANA testing. This process was supported by a two round Delphi exercise. International expert groups that participated in this initiative included (i) the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) Working Group “Autoimmunity Testing”; (ii) the European Autoimmune Standardization Initiative (EASI); and (iii) the International Consensus on ANA Patterns (ICAP). Results: In total, 35 recommendations/statements related to (i) ANA testing and reporting by HEp-2 IFA; (ii) HEp-2 IFA methodological aspects including substrate/conjugate selection and the application of CAD systems; (iii) quality assurance; (iv) HEp-2 IFA validation/verification approaches and (v) SPA were formulated. Globally, 95% of all submitted scores in the final Delphi round were above 6 (moderately agree, agree or strongly agree) and 85% above 7 (agree and strongly agree), indicating strong international support for the proposed recommendations. Conclusions: These recommendations are an important step to achieve high quality ANA testing.

- Abstract
This article discusses the results of a post-doctoral research that conducted an in-depth theoretical exploration on the concept of shared supervised practice and mobilized this study for the initial and continuing education of mathematics teachers. These results stem from the possibilities and challenges that emerged during four internship disciplines of the Mathematics degree course, in the remote context. Thus, theoretical reflections on literary works that dialogue with the theme are presented. Then, we contextualize these four disciplines, taught remotely in the second half of 2020, at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), São Carlos (SP) campus. Qualitative in nature, the research uses data obtained from theoretical tasks performed by the undergraduates and from class recordings, which took place via Google Meet. During the pandemic, the mobilizations that took place in the initial and continuing education of mathematics teachers were: theoretical, through studies about concepts that support shared supervised practice and through the interlocution with critical mathematics education, which are manifested in the professor’s practice by intentionality in organizing teaching; and methodological, through the pedagogical proposals planned to be offered remotely, mobilizing undergraduates and basic education teachers to debate among themselves and to examine literature that would allow them to create tasks that would overcome the logic of the exercise paradigm., O objetivo deste artigo é discutir os resultados de uma pesquisa de pós-doutoramento, que teve como propósito realizar um aprofundamento teórico acerca do conceito de estágio compartilhado e mobilizar esse estudo para a formação inicial e continuada de professores de matemática.

- Abstract
Water scarcity and security drive attention to water reuse in policy and business. However, water reuse may generate new water loops and challenge water governance with new and different types of water, risks, involved actors, and responsibilities. These challenges demand robust institutional arrangements related to water governance. This article assesses the institutional arrangements associated with four case studies in Spain, Italy, Croatia, and Israel. The findings reveal that the more diverse the water uses and users, the more challenges and risks, particularly those associated with institutional arrangements such as quality standards, sanctions, and conflict prevention, are likely to emerge. The weaknesses of governance models and regulations to deal with changes, uncertainties, and public resistance call for special attention to the design of the institutional arrangements before the adoption. Independent of the type of technology adopted, governance may be improved by ensuring internal and external water monitoring; integrating water management with spatial concerns; improving training, expert engagement, and civil society awareness; and reducing water reuse costs. In addition, alternative models that guarantee the efficiency of governance in attaining objectives and assuring the participation of new water users in the management of water reuse loops may also improve governance.

- Abstract
This paper presents the first publicly available version of the Carolina Corpus and discusses its future directions. Carolina is a large open corpus of Brazilian Portuguese texts under construction using web-as-corpus methodology enhanced with provenance, typology, versioning, and text integrality. The corpus aims at being used both as a reliable source for research in Linguistics and as an important resource for Computer Science research on language models, contributing towards removing Portuguese from the set of low-resource languages. Here we present the construction of the corpus methodology, comparing it with other existing methodologies, as well as the corpus current state: Carolina's first public version has $653,322,577$ tokens, distributed over $7$ broad types. Each text is annotated with several different metadata categories in its header, which we developed using TEI annotation standards. We also present ongoing derivative works and invite NLP researchers to contribute with their own., Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures, 1 appendix

- Abstract
Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) has gained wide interest in the electronics industry largely due to its flexibility, stable insulation and dielectric properties and chip integration capabilities. Recently, LCP has also been investigated as a biocompatible substrate for the fabrication of multielectrode arrays. Realizing a fully implantable LCP-based bioelectronic device, however, still necessitates a low form factor packaging solution to protect the electronics in the body. In this work, we investigate two promising encapsulation coatings based on thin-film technology as the main packaging for LCP-based electronics. Specifically, a HfO2–based nanolaminate ceramic (TFE1) deposited via atomic layer deposition (ALD), and a hybrid Parylene C-ALD multilayer stack (TFE2), both with a silicone finish, were investigated and compared to a reference LCP coating. T-peel, water-vapour transmission rate (WVTR) and long-term electrochemical impedance spectrometry (EIS) tests were performed to evaluate adhesion, barrier properties and overall encapsulation performance of the coatings. Both TFE materials showed stable impedance characteristics while submerged in 60 °C saline, with TFE1-silicone lasting more than 16 months under a continuous 14V DC bias (experiment is ongoing). The results presented in this work show that WVTR is not the main factor in determining lifetime, but the adhesion of the coating to the substrate materials plays a key role in maintaining a stable interface and thus longer lifetimes., Bio-Electronics

- Abstract
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and silver (Ag) NPs are among the most used engineered inorganic nanoparticles (NPs); however, their potential effects to marine demersal fish species, are not fully understood. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the proteomic alterations induced by sub-lethal concentrations citrate-coated 25 nm ("P25") TiO2 or polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) coated 15 nm Ag NPs to turbot, Scophthalmus maximus. Juvenile fish were exposed to the NPs through daily feeding for 14 days. The tested concentrations were 0, 0.75 or 1.5 mg of each NPs per kg of fish per day. The determination of NPs, Titanium and Ag levels (sp-ICP-MS/ICP-MS) and histological alterations (Transmission Electron Microscopy) supported proteomic analysis performed in the liver and kidney. Proteomic sample preparation procedure (SP3) was followed by LC-MS/MS. Label-free MS quantification methods were employed to assess differences in protein expression. Functional analysis was performed using STRING web-tool. KEGG Gene Ontology suggested terms were discussed and potential biomarkers of exposure were proposed. Overall, data shows that liver accumulated more elements than kidney, presented more histological alterations (lipid droplets counts and size) and proteomic alterations. The Differentially Expressed Proteins (DEPs) were higher in Ag NPs trial. The functional analysis revealed that both NPs caused enrichment of proteins related to generic processes (metabolic pathways). Ag NPs also affected protein synthesis and nucleic acid transcription, among other processes. Proteins related to thyroid hormone transport (Serpina7) and calcium ion binding (FAT2) were suggested as biomarkers of TiO2 NPs in liver. For Ag NPs, in kidney (and at a lower degree in liver) proteins related with metabolic activity, metabolism of exogenous substances and oxidative stress (e.g.: NADH dehydrogenase and Cytochrome P450) were suggested as potential biomarkers. Data suggests adverse effects in turbot after medium/lo, Funding: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through Interreg Atlantic Area Program, project NANO -CULTURE [EAPA 590/2018]; Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundacao para a Ciencia e Tecnologia; FCT) [UIDB/04423/2020, UIDP/04423/2020]

- Abstract
[Abstract] Cancer has a tremendous negative socio-economic impact on our society. Thus, the discovery of new and more effective anticancer drugs is of utmost importance. To address this societal challenge, the main goal of the CYANCAN project was the discovery of anticancer compounds from cyanobacteria. These photosynthetic bacteria are considered among the most promising groups capable of producing metabolites with pharmaceutical applications. A valuable and underexplored natural resource that can underpin the discovery of promising compounds can be found in the Blue Biotechnology and Ecotoxicology Culture Collection (LEGE-CC) at CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research), comprising more than 700 different cyanobacterial strains. Herein, we present the recent advances implemented for finding robust anticancer lead compounds from LEGE-CC cyanobacteria. For this purpose, we developed a natural product library. Sixty cyanobacterial strains, representative of LEGE-CC biodiversity, were chromatographed to yield 480 fractions that were tested for their cytotoxic activity against 2D and 3D models of human colon carcinoma (HCT 116). The conjugation of monolayer assays and 3D cancer spheroids led to the selection of 11 active fractions, of which the chemical space was studied using an untargeted metabolomics approach. The putative annotation and identification of several compounds led to the selection of two marine strains for compound isolation: Leptothoe sp. and Lusitaniella coriacea. The isolation of the compounds was guided through bioactivity assays and mass spectrometry. These molecules were purified from the crudes by employing several chromatography methods, and the chemical structures were determined by means of NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) and MS/MS (tandem mass spectrometry) experiments. Thus, a novel macrolide-type compound was isolated from Leptothoe sp., which presented a highly cytotoxic activity against our cancer cell models

- Abstract
This process is challenging for the school and for teachers who have students with disabilities. The research aimed to investigate the difficulties and challenges faced by teachers in the Final Years of Elementary School in relation to the process of including students with intellectual disabilities. An exploratory qualitative methodology was used with the application of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. As a theoretical contribution, studies by Mantoan (2003), Pletsch and Glat (2012), Oliveira (2017), Michel (2005), Gil (1999), among others, are highlighted. The results show that, despite the need to include students with intellectual disabilities in regular education, teachers face difficulties, such as the absence of training aimed at inclusion, the inclusion process, knowing students in an integral way, lack of technological resources and the learning of students with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, a dialogue about the current inclusive school is necessary in the search for an instrumented school, a faculty prepared with language, concepts, values and perspective of teaching in the present., La educación actual establece un cambio de paradigma para efectuar la inclusión de los estudiantes de educación especial en la educación regular desde la perspectiva de la educación inclusiva. - Abstract
Background: The lack of the recovery of CD4(+) T-cells (CD4(+) recovery) among immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART) is not well known. We aimed to analyze the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) underlying vitamin D metabolism and the CD4(+) recovery in naive HIV-infected patients who started ART with low baseline CD4(+).Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in 411 naive individuals with plasma HIV load >200 copies/mL and CD4(+) <200 cells/mm(3). During 24 months of follow-up, all patients had plasma HIV load Results: CD4(+) recovery was higher in patients carrying DBP rs7041 AA genotype (AA versus CC/AC) and DHCR7 rs3829251 AA genotype (AA versus GG/AG) (p-value < 0.05). DBP rs7041 AA genotype was linked to increase in CD4(+) (adjusted arithmetic mean ratio (aAMR) = 1.22; q-value = 0.011), increase in CD4(+) >= P75th [adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 2.31; q-value = 0.005], slope of CD4(+) recovery (aAMR = 1.25; q-value = 0.008), slope of CD4(+) recovery >= P75th (aOR = 2.55; q-value = 0.005) and achievement of CD4(+) >= 500 cells/mm(3) (aOR = 1.89; q-value = 0.023). Besides, DHCR7 rs3829251 AA genotype was related to increase in CD4(+) (aAMR = 1.43; q-value = 0.031), increase in CD4(+) >= P75th (aOR = 3.92; q-value = 0.030), slope of CD4(+) recovery (aAMR = 1.40; q-value = 0.036), slope of CD4(+) recovery >= P75th (aOR = 3.42; q-value = 0.031) and achievement of CD4(+) >= 500 cells/mm(3) (aOR = 5.68; q-value = 0.015).Conclusion: In summary, DHCR7 rs3829251 and DBP rs7041 polymorphisms were associated with CD4(+) recovery in HIV-infected patients who started cART with low CD4(+) T-cell counts.

- Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The first wave of COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted almost all areas of the health care services to some extent throughout the world. Although the negative impact of COVID-19 on patients with autoimmune diseases has also been recognized, available data in this regard are limited. In the current study of the European Autoimmunity Standardisation Initiative (EASI) we aimed to provide reliable data on the extent of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on test requests for different autoantibodies in European countries.METHODS: Data on test numbers and on the number of positive results were collected in 97 clinical laboratories from 15 European countries on a monthly basis for the year before (2019) and the year during (2020) the COVID-19 pandemic.RESULTS: A reduction in the number of autoantibody tests was observed in all European countries in the year 2020 compared to 2019. The reduction affected all autoantibody tests with an overall decrease of 13%, ranging from 1.4% (Switzerland) to 25.5% (Greece). In all countries, the decrease was most pronounced during the first wave of the pandemic (March-May 2020) with an overall decrease in those three months of 45.2%. The most affected autoantibodies were those commonly requested by general practitioners (anti-tTG IgA (-71%), RF IgM (-66%) and ACPA (-61%)). In the second wave of the pandemic (October-December 2020) the decrease was less pronounced (6.8%). With respect to the rate of positive results, subtle differences were observed for distinct autoantibodies during the pandemic, but the total rate of positive results was similar in both years.CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated a strong decrease in autoantibody requests during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 15 European countries. The second wave was characterized by a less pronounced impact, with some participating countries hardly affected, while some other countries experienced a second decline. The decrease was clearly associat

- Abstract
Proteomics has been recently introduced in aquaculture research, and more methodological studies are needed to improve the quality of proteomics studies. Therefore, this work aims to compare three sample preparation methods for shotgun LC-MS/MS proteomics using tissues of two aquaculture species: liver of turbot Scophthalmus maximus and hepatopancreas of Mediterranean mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis. We compared the three most common sample preparation workflows for shotgun analysis: filter-aided sample preparation (FASP), suspension-trapping (S-Trap), and solid-phase-enhanced sample preparations (SP3). FASP showed the highest number of protein identifications for turbot samples, and S-Trap outperformed other methods for mussel samples. Subsequent functional analysis revealed a large number of Gene Ontology (GO) terms in turbot liver proteins (nearly 300 GO terms), while fewer GOs were found in mussel proteins (nearly 150 GO terms for FASP and S-Trap and 107 for SP3). This result may reflect the poor annotation of the genomic information in this specific group of animals. FASP was confirmed as the most consistent method for shotgun proteomic studies; however, the use of the other two methods might be important in specific experimental conditions (e.g., when samples have a very low amount of protein)., Funding Agencies|European Union (Interreg POCTEP, project ACUINANO) [07-12-ACUINANO_1_E]; Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundacao para a Ciencia e Tecnologia; FCT)Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology [UIDB/04423/2020, UIDP/04423/2020]; European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)European Commission

Since the conceptualization of bounded rationality by Herbert Simon (1947), man-agement scholars started investigating how people—managers and entrepreneurs—reallymake decisions within (and for) organizations. Taking into considerations the effect onorganizational choices (e.g., new product development, market entry, merger and/or ac-quisition of other entities) and related performance (in organizational, economic, and socialterms), a series of trends have flourished within this pivotal research area. Nowadays, themain important are: the biasing or beneficial role of heuristics (i.e., cognitive shortcuts ofhuman mind) (Kahneman 2003), the influence of socio-demographic characteristics andpersonality traits (see the derived Upper Echelons Theory; Hambrick and Mason 1984;Abatecola and Cristofaro 2020), the impact of affective states (e.g., emotions, mood, temper-ament), the intertwinement between cognitive and emotional factors, the co-determinantrole of the (micro-, meso-, and macro-) environment in the formation of choices withperson-, group-, firm-specific variables, and the biasing or beneficial impact of technologieson managers’ and entrepreneurs’ rationality.

- Abstract
This article seeks to reflect on the silencing to which female militancy was destined within the Communist Party of Brazil and on the pages of the historiography produced by militants of this organization. Through this perspective, think about how some leaders of the PCB elaborated their conceptions about the female militancy and how they remembered their political trajectories. Essentially, we asked about the forgetfulness to which women activists were relegated by their companions, especially with regard to the party's memory, in an attempt to problematize issues that part of historiography insists on making irrelevant, secondary and unnecessary.

- Abstract
This article aims to highlight and understand movements in the collaboration process as a methodology for the initial education of mathematics teachers in teaching initiation spaces. To this end, a qualitative interpretative investigation was carried out using the triangulation of national documents and studies and a training action of a Brazilian federal university (UFSCar) on mathematics teachers and the beginning of teaching. The analysis appropriated concepts that involve processes of reflection, investigation, partnership and collaboration for the professional development of teachers. The results showed that the collaborative movements became a methodology for initial teacher training when considering and valuing a longitudinal process of: co-education among all involved; dialogues and negotiations in planning, developing and evaluating teaching practices; institutional intentions and engagements and reflective and investigative practices and writings in/from the lived education process., Este artigo tem como objetivo evidenciar e compreender movimentos do processo de colaboração, enquanto metodologia de formação inicial de professores de matemática em espaços de iniciação à docência. - Abstract
Objective: To describe the consequences of using artificial nipples to exclusive breastfeeding. Materials and method: An integrative review carried out in the Medline®, Cinahl, Lilacs, Web of Science, and Scopus databases to answer the following question: What are the consequences of using artificial nipples to exclusive breastfeeding? Results: 38 articles were analyzed; the analysis gave rise to two categories: neonatal factors and maternal factors influencing exclusive breastfeeding. Breastfeeding interruption was the neonatal factor most associated with the use of artificial nipples, while the level of maternal education stood out as an intervening factor in exclusive breastfeeding. Pacifiers were the dummy type more commonly mentioned, followed by feeding bottles and nipple shields. Conclusions: The consequences of offering artificial nipples to breastfed infants are mostly negative and associated with the newborn, such as early weaning, refusal to breastfeed, impaired suction technique, incorrect latch-on, interference with orofacial development, and interruption of exclusive breastfeeding. Mothers who offered artificial nipples to their infants are more likely to experience pain, nipple fissures, frustration, and reduced interaction with their infants., Objetivo: descrever as consequências do uso de bicos artificiais para a amamentação exclusiva.
