Nanopowders doped with silver were produced by the method of pulsed electron beam evaporation. The pore sizes of the nanoparticles were 25-32 nm. Evaluation of photocatalytic and cytotoxic properties on cells was carried out. Improved methods of processing food and agricultural products make it possible to achieve an optimal effect at an acceptable level of its quality. In radiobiology, Methods of synergistic effect of two factors are widespread, in particular, the combination of treatment with ionizing radiation (IR), UV and plasma. The use of these methods in the production cycle can significantly improve processing efficiency. In the present work were treated combined feeds of ‘PK-5’ and ‘PK-6’ in order to investigate the synergistic effect of IR treatment and high pressure gas discharge plasma (HP GDP) radiation. As the source of IR was used the nanosecond electron beam (NEB) of the accelerator URT-1 (1 Mev). To create the HP GDP was used a high-voltage nanosecond generator GVI-150 (150 kV). Nanopowders of aluminum oxide silicon oxide and iron oxide with silver coating were produces by the radiation-chemical method. The dimensions of the nanoparticles were 50 to 80 nm, and the area can be changed from 2-3%, up to 40%. Was carried out the validation of antibacterial properties against E.coli and staphylococcus. Were estimated photocatalytic properties of nanopowders, which showed applications perspective as a photocatalytic agent. Cytotoxic properties were also investigated, which showed the relevance of the use of some the obtained composites for targeted drug delivery. © Journal of Physics: Conference Series 2021.

The purpose of the research was to investigate the potential of using SiO2-MnO2 nanopowder, obtained by electron beam evaporation, as a drug delivery system. The evaluation of the sedimentation stability of suspensions was conducted for further in vivo studies. It was established that PEG stabilized suspensions showed the highest stability. Drug loading and release experiments with nanopowders demonstrated a high drug loading capacity of Amoxicillin and Doxorubicin.

By means of pulsed electron beam evaporation in vacuum of targets non-magnetic, in bulk state, Al2O3 and YSZ (ZrO2-8% Y2O3) oxides, magnetic nanopowders (NPs) with a high specific surface were produced. The NPs were subsequently irradiated in air by electrons with energy of 700 keV, using a URT-1 accelerator for 15 and 30 minutes. The magnetic, thermal, and pulsed cathodoluminescence (PCL) characteristics of NPs were measured before and after irradiation. It was established that the electron irradiation non-monotonically changes the magnetization of the pristine samples. To the contrary, a clear correlation between the intensity of PCL and the irradiation doses is found in the oxides. There was a decrease in the intensity of PCL after irradiation. Luminescent and thermal properties reflect the transformation of structural defects in NPs more strongly after the exposure to a pulsed electron beam in comparison with corresponding changes of the NPs magnetic response. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Development of the technology bases of egg disinfection using surface irradiation is executed by the nanosecond electron beam. Experiments on shell eggs irradiation using the frequency nanosecond URT-0.5 accelerator were made. Determination of absorbed dose distributionwas executed. In case of irradiation by the electron beam with absorbed dose level 5 kGy, it is enough for the full disinfection of the surface and pores of egg shell. The absorbed dose in the egg at the expense of bremsstrahlung will not exceed 0.08 Gy which can't have essential action on protein. Irradiation of shell eggs batch in plastic package of 100 pieces pledged in an incubator together with an inspection lot of not irradiated egg was made. The percent of eggs deductibility and chickens survival of pilot and control batches were identical, indicating that there was no significant radio biological effect from irradiation of egg internal structures. The received chickens were grown up within the 5 weeks. It is established that the chickens who are grown up from the irradiated egg have no essential differences in development. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The subject of the investigation of the possible synergy sterilizing effect included the joint action by the nanosecond electron beam (NEB) and plasma radiation of nanosecond gas discharge of high pressure. Plasma radiation was carried out by the GVI-150 generator which loading involved a discharge camera. Pulse repetition rate of the generator operation was 37 pps, and distance from electrodes cutoff to processed samples ∼5 cm. The experiments on irradiation by the NEB were made on the pulse repetitive nanosecond accelerator URT-0.5 (electrons energy up to 500 keV, a pulse duration 50 ns, pulse repetition rate up to 200 pps). The time the vessel has been irradiated changed from 0 to 5 minutes; the absorbed dose (AD) of different batches changed from 0 to 5 kGy. The extensive data array on joint action of the NEB and plasma radiation for several types of widespread microorganism is received. Also, the synergetic effect of the NEB influence and plasma radiation on microorganisms such as Klebsiella is found. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The irradiation exposure experiments were carried out by means of the pulsed repetitive nanosecond accelerator URT-0.5 (electron energy of up to 500 keV, a pulse width of 50 ns, pulse repetition rate of up to 200pps). The determination of the distribution of the absorbed dose (AD) in the depth in the polyethylene was conducted by a gray wedge. The measurement of the electron beam AD on the surface of the shell (removed from the eggs) and under the shell, as well as beneath the absorber layer (polyethylene 80 microns thick) was also performed by the film dosimeter. Thermoluminescent dosimeters, TLD-500, were used to determine the distribution of the bremsstrahlung AD inside chicken eggs. These results lead to the conclusion that the irradiation of an electron beam with the AD level of 5 kGy is sufficient for complete disinfection on the surface of an egg. AYPT-1M modernized electron accelerator with an accelerating voltage up to 1 MV, a 1-kW electron beam power, and a 100-ns pulse duration is described. As compared to the prototype (YPT-1 accelerator), the layout of assemblies is changed in it, allowing one to place it in rooms with heights up to 2.5 m. It uses Murata capacitors and a TQPEe Cyrillic sign1-10k/75 thyratron with a cold cathode for switching. The computer-aided parameter-monitoring system is created. A metal-ceramic cathode consisting of several elements with ∼15% nonuniform current density distribution of the electron beam on the exit foil was used to obtain an electron beam with a width of up to 400 mm. The accelerator can be used in radiation technologies in layers with a thickness of up to 0.3 g/cm2. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Nanopowders of pure and doped oxides with high specific surface area were produced by a method of pulsed electron beam evaporation in vacuum. Characteristics nanopowders were studied by methods of XRD, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, elec-tronography, DSC-TG, inductively coupled plasma and pulsed cathodeluminescence. For the first time was established ferromagnetism at room temperature in nanopowders ZrO2. ZnO-Zn-Cu and CeO2-C which can be connected with high deficiency produced nanopowders. Frequency nanosecond electron accelerators type URT has been developed for use in radiation technologies. The accelerator includes a thyratron, a pulse transformer and a semiconductor opening switch. The accelerating voltage is up to 0.9 MV, FWHM pulse length is up to 60 ns, and the repetition rate is up to 250 Hz. A metal ceramic cathode, which is used in the accelerator, provides an electron beam cross section up to 16 cm in diameter or rectangular with the dimensions of 45* 5cm2 at a maximum density of the pulse current equal to 2 A/cm2. Thus, a family of nanosecond electron accelerators has been developed for use in radiation technologies applied to layers up to 0.4 g/cm2 thick, such as production of nanopowders from gas and liquid precursors. Experiments on the irradiation of silver nitrate solutions in various liquids by a URT-0.5 accelerator facilitated the development of technology for producing silver nanopowders (NPs). The powder yield and particle size as a function of the irradiation mode has been established. An increase in the adsorbed dose results in an increased powder yield; however, the particle size decreases and the powder agglomeration rate increases. Therefore, the targeted production of silver NPs with a mean particle size in the range of 90-1100 nm is possible. Besides to produce TiO2 and SiO2 NPs the gas precursors were used.
