A new and efficient hybrid mode-matching method for the analysis of arbitrarily shaped inductive obstacles and discontinuities is presented. An open-space spectral method is used to model the electrical behavior of the inductive problem, and the mode-matching technique is then employed for obtaining a multimode scattering matrix representation. This new method is revealed very useful for the accurate and efficient analysis of inductive problems including very arbitrary geometries. Results for some classical inductive problems covered in the literature are shown, thus confirming the accuracy of the results provided by the new technique., Peer Reviewed, Postprint (published version)

The authors introduce an element that allows them to analyze two-dimensional diffraction problems in a circuital way. The circuital analysis of electromagnetic problems, together to the segmentation technique, allows one to analyse large problems, in an electromagnetic sense, with the additional advantage that a change in a material is readily computed. This makes this method very appropriate for its use in CAD tools. The problem of a sector considered as a quadripole is only presented, in such a way that we can set the advantages of the method. A new polarimetric calibration method is proposed based on scattering matrix decomposition, via Pauli matrices. This scheme operates with the Pauli target vectors instead of the scattering matrix. The base elements of the Pauli target vectors are the vectors corresponding to the usual calibrators such as sphere, dihedral and 45° rotated dihedral. This fact allows direct and easy calculation of the error coefficients. An experimental validation of this method is presented., Peer Reviewed

There is no rigorous definition of the S matrix for the electro-optic components. This article proposes such a characterization, based on usual microwave theory. Transmission-line models, reflection coefficient, and available gain definitions are also proposed. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Thesis (M.S.)--Florida Atlantic University, 1973., Summary: The simplest possible nonrelativistic many-channel p-wave S-matrix which is meromorphic on its energy Riemann surface, as well as the underlying time reversal invariant potential matrix, is explicitly constructed by means of the many-channel Marchenko equations. The results suggest that, contrary to the case in which no coupling between channels is present, such an S-matrix necessarily increases in complexity with increasing angular momentum.

The covariant, unitary and causal S-matrix for nonlocal relativistic quantum field theories is constructed. This S-matrix is based on a new notion of the covariant chronological ordering. © 1989 Società Italiana di Fisica.
