Lots e and f of AI3-35768 caused severe primary irritation and necrosis (AI3-35768f) of the intact and abraded skin of rabbits. When applied as a diluted ethanol solution AI3-35768e caused mild primary skin irritation. AI3-70948Ga and AI3-39007a caused no primary skin irritation but caused moderate to severe eye irritation. Chemical AI3-70948Ga was only slightly toxic to rats by the oral route (ALD 5000mg/KG) and was not a sensitizer within the limits of our test. AI3-38323b produced moderate primary skin irritation. Chemicals AI3-38324b, AI3-38326b, AI3-38304b, and AI3-38321b produced moderate to severe eye irritation with lesions which persisted at 7 days post application. AI3-38304 and AI3-38321b produced mild primary skin irritation while AI3-37487b produced severe primary skin irritation, necrosis, and eschar formation. These chemical are not recommended for further entomological testing, however, if efficacy data should warrant, such chemicals could be resubmitted in a further purified form or at the intended use concentration., Also available as Rept. nos. Topical Hazard Evaluations of USDA Candidate Insect Repellent AI3-35770 were performed using New Zealand White rabbits, albino Hartley guinea pigs, and Sprague Dawley rats. Chemical AI3-35770 produced moderate to severe primary dermal irritation and necrosis in rabbits and guinea pigs. These effects were quantitatively worse in rabbits than in guinea pigs. This compound was moderately toxic to rats when given by the oral route.

Chemical AI3-30180C produced mild to moderate primary skin irritation of the intact skin and the skin surrounding an abrasion. The chemical caused moderate injury to the cornea and conjunctiva. The chemical was not phototoxic or skin sensitizing. The approximate lethal dose (oral) was 2,222 mg/kg.

Determination of the phase response of a minimum-phase seismic system directly from the amplitude response by the Hilbert transform is investigated. The error by this technique is found to be less than 2 degrees with the major source of inaccuracy being the uncertainties in the amplitude data.
