When the electromagnetic modes supported by plasmonic-based cavities interact strongly with molecules located within the cavity, new hybrid states known as plasmon-exciton-polaritons (PEPs) are formed. The properties of PEPs, such as group velocity, effective mass, and lifetime, depend on the dispersive and spectral characteristics of the optical modes underlying the strong coupling. In this work, we focus on lattice modes supported by rectangular arrays of plasmonic nanoparticles known as surface lattice resonances (SLRs). We show that SLRs arising from different in-plane diffraction orders in the lattice can couple with the molecular excitons, leading to PEPs with distinct dispersions and thus different group velocities. These results illustrate the possibility of tailoring the transport of PEPs through the design of lattices of plasmonic particles.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem možnosti dosáhnout intenzivní fluorescence v červené oblasti spektra pomocí Försterova rezonančního přenosu energie (FRET) v nanočásticích. Nejprve byly studovány optické vlastnosti organických molekul, které by mohly být vhodné pro vytvoření tzv. host-guest (HG) systému tvořeného párem akceptor-donor. Studované molekuly byly založeny na derivátech difenylstilbenu obsahujícího elektron-donorovou skupinu difenylamin (DPA-DPS), která je pomocí konjugovaného systému dvojných vazeb spojena s lišící se elektron-akceptorovou skupinou. Použité akceptorové skupiny, tj. indandion (-IOO), vinyl (-V) a di(methoxykarbonyl)vinyl (-V(COOMe)2) se vzájemně liší strukturou a polaritou, která se projevila změnou polohy fluorescenčního spektra. Ve studovaných HG systémech látka DPA-DPS-IOO sloužila vždy jako host (G1) a látky DPA-DPS-V a DPA-DPS-V(COOMe)2 jako hostitel (H1 nebo H2). Nanočástice z těchto látek (G1H1 a G1H2) byly připraveny metodou nanoprecipitace. U obou těchto systému byl pozorován FRET. Při excitaci matrice byla energie přenesena na hosta G1, který následně fluoreskoval v dlouhovlnné oblasti. U nanočástic vytvořených ze systému G1H2 bylo dále pozorováno i zvýšení kvantového výtěžku fluorescence hosta a to jak v porovnání s práškovou formou, tak nanočásticemi vytvořených pouze ze samotného hosta, ze 7 % (prášek) a 3,1 % (nanočástice) na 14 %. U nanočástic systému G1H1 nebyl nárůst kvantového výtěžku fluorescence hosta pozorován. Z výsledků vyplynulo, že FRET může být účinný nástroj při vývoji nanočástic vykazující intenzivní dlouhovlnnou fluorescenci pro zobrazovací metody., This bachelor thesis studies the possibility of achieving intense fluorescence in the red region of the spectrum using Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) in nanoparticles. Furthermore, an increase in the quantum yield of the guest fluorescence was also observed for the nanoparticles formed from the G1H2 system, from 7% (powder) and 3.1% (nanoparticles) to 14% compared to both the powder form and nanoparticles formed from the guest alone. No increase in the quantum yield of guest fluorescence was observed for the nanoparticles of the G1H1 system.
