New legislation regarding keeping employees after the acquisition of the hotel in New York City becomes controversial. This new law makes hotel buyers keep hotel staff for a minimum of 90 days after purchase. While potential buyers are opposed to it because of the difficult situation in the pandemic, City council explained why they advocated the law; this regulation protects hotel staffs in terms of job security to support the local economy. Also, another coming legislation prohibits hotels from assessing cancellation fees from the service disruptions from construction work, infestation, and unavailability of any advertised hotel features, etc.

LangMod is an interactive software implementation of a modified Langlie sequential test strategy. Similar to the Up and Down (Bruceton) method, the Langlie strategy can be used in V50 ballistic limit testing to select test shot velocities based on previous velocities and responses. The software includes graph frames to show the data in shot sequence and the response curve as a function of velocity when the appropriate data is obtained. Parameter estimates are also provided to include the mean and standard deviation of the response curve as well as the V50 estimate and V50 standard deviation., The original document contains color images.

There was a need to investigate the feasibility of attaching a device to the existing Remote Equipment Target System (RETS) such that RETS would be able to identify the type of projectile that struck the target. A concept was developed to identify projectiles acoustically by measuring some characteristics of N-Wave produced from the projectile's sonic boom. High fidelity microphones were positioned to provide N-Wave profiles. The distance between the sonic boom's source and the microphone was the most important parameter. An array of six low-fidelity microphones was used to locate the projectile location. By utilizing the sonic boom arrival times and knowledge of the spatial locations of the low-fidelity microphones, the location of the projectile relative to the high-fidelity microphones was determined. The concept development was broken into three phases - feasibility, data collection, and finally validation and verification of the concept's functionality. A prototype unit called a Round Discrimination System (RDS) was fabricated and field tested in the validation verification phase. The RDS unit was transported to the 7th ATC in Germany for a demonstration. This report provides details of each phase of the development program and the results of the onsite demo in Germany.

Historically, bombing has not been used or extensively tested for minefield breaching. This report predicts that bombing results should be excellent even with small numbers of sorties. Fuel-air explosives (FAE), which are notably effective against pressure-fuzed mines, were the notional ordnance. For a single FAE bomb probability of one-half of making a 30-meter breach, four Harrier jets with seven CBU72 bombs each can reduce a 210-meter path through a standard minefield from 1,000 mines/km to at most 330 mines/km with 99% probability. This decreased path density provides a tank 62% chance of crossing the minefield path without hitting a mine; whereas, without the FAE bombing, a tank trying to bull through is only 25% certain of crossing safely. Killing all mines in the path is possible (82% chance) with the four jet strike. The analysis can be applied to other bombs and minefields. minefields, mine countermeasures.

Two closed-circuit breathing apparatus (BioPak 240, Rexnord Breathing Systems, Inc. and BG-174, national Draeger, Inc.) were evaluated to determine the most suitable system to the be used with the self-contained toxicological environmental protection outfit (STEPO) currently under development. Separate tests were conducted to determine differences in the physiological encumbrance and protection levels of the two systems. The physiological evaluation protocol consisted of alternating 15-min periods of rest and exercise (4.0 kph, 0% grade) on a motor driven treadmill for 2 hr. A totally encapsulating butyl rubber suit similar to that being developed for STEPO was worn in these tests. Measurements included heart rate, minute ventilation, suit temperature, oxygen concentration, carbon dioxide concentration, water vapor pressure, and temperature. Test results indicated that neither system had substantial advantages over the other with regard to the physiological burden imposed on the user. Protection evaluations were conducted in a corn oil aerosol test chamber. The BioPak 240 (a positive pressure system) provided significantly higher levels of protection than the BG-174. Based on this result, the BioPak 240 is levels of protection than the BG-174. Based on this result, the BioPak 240 is recommended as the most suitable candidate for use in STEPO.

The Anderson-Darling goodness-of-fit procedure emphasizes agreement between the data and the hypothesized distribution in the extremes or tails. An improved table of the quantiles of the Anderson-Darling statistic, useful for small sample sizes, was constructed using the Cray-2 supercomputer. The power of the Anderson-Darling test is compared to the Kolmogorov and the Cramer-von Mises tests when the null hypothesis is the normal distribution and the alternative distributions are the Cauchy, the double exponential, and the extreme value distributions.
