In this paper, we define the logic of Linear Temporal Bunched Implications (LTBI), a temporal extension of the Bunched Implications logic BI that deals with resource evolution over time, by combining the BI separation connectives and the LTL temporal connectives. We first present the syntax and semantics of LTBI and illustrate its expressiveness with a significant example. Then we introduce a tableau calculus with labels and constraints, called TLTBI, and prove its soundness w.r.t. the Kripke-style semantics of LTBI. Finally we discuss and analyze the issues that make the completeness of the calculus not trivial in the general case of unbounded timelines and explain how to solve the issues in the more restricted case of bounded timelines.

This paper gives a broad account of the various sequent-based proof formalisms in the proof-theoretic literature. We consider formalisms for various modal and tense logics, intuitionistic logic, conditional logics, and bunched logics. After providing an overview of the logics and proof formalisms under consideration, we show how these sequent-based formalisms can be placed in a hierarchy in terms of the underlying data structure of the sequents. We then discuss how this hierarchy can be traversed using translations. Translating proofs up this hierarchy is found to be relatively easy while translating proofs down the hierarchy is substantially more difficult. Finally, we inspect the prevalent distinction in structural proof theory between 'internal calculi' and 'external calculi'. It is observed that these classes resist a rigorous separation, and we critically assess the properties that (calculi from) these classes are purported to possess.

In this paper we consider the intuitionistic sentential calculus with Suszko’s identity (ISCI). After recalling the basic concepts of the logic and its associated Hilbert proof system, we introduce a new sound and complete class of models for ISCI which can be viewed as algebraic counterparts (and extensions) of sheaf-theoretic topological models of intuitionistic logic. We use this new class of models, called Beth semantics for ISCI, to derive a first labelled sequent calculus and show its adequacy w.r.t. the standard Hilbert axiomatization of ISCI. This labelled proof system, like all other current proof systems for ISCI that we know of, does not enjoy the subformula property, which is problematic for achieving termination. We therefore introduce a second labelled sequent calculus in which the standard rules for identity are replaced with new special rules and show that this second calculus admits cut-elimination. Finally, using a key regularity property of the forcing relation in Beth models, we show that the eigenvariable condition can be dropped, thus leading to the termination and decidability results.

Nineteen patients of the entire cohort (49%) had neurologic involvement (7 and 12 from Groups 1B and 2, respectively). Histology included classic xanthogranuloma features in almost one-third of cases, whereas the majority displayed a more densely cellular, monomorphic appearance without lipidized histiocytes but sometimes more spindled or epithelioid morphology. Neoplastic histiocytes were positive for macrophage markers and often conferred strong expression of phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase, confirming MAPK pathway activation. KIF5B-ALK fusions were detected in 27 patients, whereas CLTC-ALK, TPM3-ALK, TFG-ALK, EML4-ALK, and DCTN1-ALK fusions were identified in single cases. Robust and durable responses were observed in 11/11 patients treated with ALK inhibition, 10 with neurologic involvement. This study presents the existing clinicopathologic and molecular landscape of ALK-positive histiocytosis and provides guidance for the clinical management of this emerging histiocytic entity.

Distributed algorithms offer challenges in checking that they meet their specifications. Verification techniques can be extended to deal with the verification of safety properties of distributed algorithms. In this paper, we present an approach for combining correct-by-construction approaches and transformations of formal models (Event-B) into programs (DistAlgo) to address the design of verified distributed programs. We define a subset LB (Local Event-B) of the Event-B modelling language restricted to events modelling the classical actions of distributed programs as internal or local computations, sending messages and receiving messages. We define then transformations of the various elements of the LB language into DistAlgo programs. The general methodology consists in starting from a statement of the problem to program and then progressively producing an LB model obtained after several refinement steps of the initial LB model. The derivation of the LB model is not described in the current paper and has already been addressed in other works. The transformation of LB models into DistAlgo programs is illustrated through a simple example. Fragmentation of molecular nitrogen dimers (N_{2})_{2} induced by collision with low energy 90 keV Ar^{9+} ions is studied to evidence the influence of a molecular environment on the fragmentation dynamics of N_{2} cations. Following the capture of three or four electrons from the dimer, the three-body N_{2}^{+}+N^{m+}+N^{n+} [with (m,n)=(1,1) or (1, 2)] fragmentation channels provide clean experimental cases where molecular fragmentation may occur in the presence of a neighbor molecular cation. The effect of the environment on the fragmentation dynamics within the dimer is investigated through the comparison of the kinetic energy release (KER) spectra for these three-body channels and for isolated N_{2}^{(m+n)+} monomer cations. The corresponding KER spectra exhibit energy shifts of the order of 10 eV, attributed to the deformation of the N^{m+}+N^{n+} potential energy curves in the presence of the neighboring N_{2}^{+} cation. The KER structures remain unchanged, indicating that the primary collision process is not significantly affected by the presence of a neighbor molecule.

Replacement therapy in severe hemophilia A leads to factor VIII (FVIII) inhibitors in 30% of patients. Factor VIII gene (F8) mutation type, a family history of inhibitors, ethnicity and intensity of treatment are established risk factors, and were included in two published prediction tools based on regression models. Recently investigated immune regulatory genes could also play a part in immunogenicity. Our objective is to identify bio-clinical and genetic markers for FVIII inhibitor development, taking into account potential genetic high order interactions. The study population consisted of 593 and 79 patients with hemophilia A from centers in Bonn and Frankfurt respectively. Data was collected in the European ABIRISK tranSMART database. A subset of 125 severely affected patients from Bonn with reliable information on first treatment was selected as eligible for risk stratification using a hybrid tree-based regression model (GPLTR). In the eligible subset, 58 (46%) patients developed FVIII inhibitors. Among them, 49 (84%) were "high risk" F8 mutation type. 19 (33%) had a family history of inhibitors. The GPLTR model, taking into account F8 mutation risk, family history of inhibitors and product type, distinguishes two groups of patients: a high-risk group for immunogenicity, including patients with positive HLA-DRB1*15 and genotype G/A and A/A for IL-10 rs1800896, and a low-risk group of patients with negative HLA-DRB1*15 / HLA-DQB1*02 and T/T or G/T for CD86 rs2681401. We show associations between genetic factors and the occurrence of FVIII inhibitor development in severe hemophilia A patients taking into account for high-order interactions using a generalized partially linear tree-based approach., ABIRISK consortium

Our objective is to identify bio-clinical and genetic markers for FVIII inhibitor development, taking into account potential genetic high order interactions. The increasing development of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) requires modellers to represent and reason about physical values. This paper addresses two major, inter-related, aspects that arise when modelling physical measures. Firstly, there is often a heterogeneity of representation; for example: speed can be represented in many different units (mph, kph, mps, etc. . . ). Secondly, there is incoherence in composition; for example: adding a speed to a temperature would provide a meaningless result in the physical world, even though such a purely mathematical operation is meaningful in the abstract. These aspects are problematic when implicit semantics - concerned with measurements - in CPSs are not explicit (enough) in the requirements, design and implementation models. We present an engineering approach for explicitly modelling measurements during all phases of formal system development. This report documents the program and the outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 14062 "The Pacemaker Challenge: Developing Certifiable Medical Devices". The aim of the seminar was to bring together leading researchers and industrial partners of this field; the seminary ended up with 24 participants from 8 countries: Canada, Denmark, France, The Unites States, Germany, United Kingdom, Brazil. Through a series of presentations, discussions, and working group meetings, the seminar attempted to get a general view of the field of medical devices and certification issues through the pacemaker challenge. The seminar brought together, on the one hand, researchers from the different notations and various tools. The main outcome of the seminar is the exchange of information between different groups and the project of a book.

This volume contains the proceedings of F-IDE 2016, the third international workshop on Formal Integrated Development Environment, which was held as an FM 2016 satellite event, on November 8, 2016, in Limassol (Cyprus). High levels of safety, security and also privacy standards require the use of formal methods to specify and develop compliant software (sub)systems. Any standard comes with an assessment process, which requires a complete documentation of the application in order to ease the justification of design choices and the review of code and proofs. Thus tools are needed for handling specifications, program constructs and verification artifacts. The aim of the F-IDE workshop is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing research efforts as well as experience returns on design, development and usage of formal IDE aiming at making formal methods "easier" for both specialists and non-specialists.
