However, effective therapeutic interventions are finite. After IS, bloodâbrain barrier (BBB) integrity is disrupted, resulting in deteriorating neurological function. As a novel therapeutic, extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown ideal restorative effects on BBB integrity post-stroke; however, the definite mechanisms remain ambiguous.
