Abstract: Objective: Biallelic titin truncating variants (TTNtv) have been associated with a wide phenotypic spectrum, ranging from complex prenatal muscle diseases with dysmorphic features to adult-onset limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, with or without cardiac involvement. Given the size and complexity of TTN, reaching an unequivocal molecular diagnosis and precise disease prognosis remains challenging. Methods: In this case series, 12 unpublished cases and one already published case with biallelic TTNtv were collected from multiple international medical centers between November 2022 and September 2023. TTN mutations were detected through exome or genome sequencing. Information about familial and personal clinical history was collected in a standardized form. RNA-sequencing and analysis of TTN exon usage were performed on an internal sample cohort including postnatal skeletal muscles, fetal skeletal muscles, postnatal heart muscles, and fetal heart muscles. In addition, publicly available RNA-sequencing data was retrieved from ENCODE. Results: We generated new RNA-seq data on TTN exons and identified genotype–phenotype correlations with prognostic implications for each titinopathy patient (whether worsening or improving in prenatal and postnatal life) using percentage spliced in (PSI) data for the involved exons. Interestingly, thanks to exon usage, we were also able to rule out a titinopathy diagnosis in one prenatal case. Interpretation: This study demonstrates that exon usage provides valuable insights for a more exhaustive clinical interpretation of TTNtv; additionally, it may serve as a model for implementing personalized medicine in many other genetic diseases, since most genes undergo alternative splicing., CC BY 4.0First published: 28 August 2024© 2024 The Author(s). Abstract: Purpose Within the Solve-RD project (https://solve-rd.eu/), the European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies aimed to investigate whether a reanalysis of exomes from unsolved cases based on ClinVar annotations could establish additional diagnoses. We present the results of the “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” reanalysis, reasons for the failure of previous analyses, and lessons learned. Methods Data from the first 3576 exomes (1522 probands and 2054 relatives) collected from European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies was reanalyzed by the Solve-RD consortium by evaluating for the presence of single-nucleotide variant, and small insertions and deletions already reported as (likely) pathogenic in ClinVar. Variants were filtered according to frequency, genotype, and mode of inheritance and reinterpreted. Results We identified causal variants in 59 cases (3.9%), 50 of them also raised by other approaches and 9 leading to new diagnoses, highlighting interpretation challenges: variants in genes not known to be involved in human disease at the time of the first analysis, misleading genotypes, or variants undetected by local pipelines (variants in off-target regions, low quality filters, low allelic balance, or high frequency). Conclusion The “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” analysis represents an effective, fast, and easy approach to recover causal variants from exome sequencing data, herewith contributing to the reduction of the diagnostic deadlock.

Abstract: Background Exome and genome sequencing are the predominant techniques in the diagnosis and research of genetic disorders. Sufficient, uniform and reproducible/consistent sequence coverage is a main determinant for the sensitivity to detect single-nucleotide (SNVs) and copy number variants (CNVs). Here we compared the ability to obtain comprehensive exome coverage for recent exome capture kits and genome sequencing techniques. Results We compared three different widely used enrichment kits (Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V5, Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V7 and Twist Bioscience) as well as short-read and long-read WGS. We show that the Twist exome capture significantly improves complete coverage and coverage uniformity across coding regions compared to other exome capture kits. Twist performance is comparable to that of both short- and long-read whole genome sequencing. Additionally, we show that even at a reduced average coverage of 70× there is only minimal loss in sensitivity for SNV and CNV detection. Conclusion We conclude that exome sequencing with Twist represents a significant improvement and could be performed at lower sequence coverage compared to other exome capture techniques.

Abstract: Background Exome and genome sequencing are the predominant techniques in the diagnosis and research of genetic disorders. Sufficient, uniform and reproducible/consistent sequence coverage is a main determinant for the sensitivity to detect single-nucleotide (SNVs) and copy number variants (CNVs). Here we compared the ability to obtain comprehensive exome coverage for recent exome capture kits and genome sequencing techniques. Results We compared three different widely used enrichment kits (Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V5, Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V7 and Twist Bioscience) as well as short-read and long-read WGS. We show that the Twist exome capture significantly improves complete coverage and coverage uniformity across coding regions compared to other exome capture kits. Twist performance is comparable to that of both short- and long-read whole genome sequencing. Additionally, we show that even at a reduced average coverage of 70× there is only minimal loss in sensitivity for SNV and CNV detection. Conclusion We conclude that exome sequencing with Twist represents a significant improvement and could be performed at lower sequence coverage compared to other exome capture techniques.

Abstract: Purpose Within the Solve-RD project (https://solve-rd.eu/), the European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies aimed to investigate whether a reanalysis of exomes from unsolved cases based on ClinVar annotations could establish additional diagnoses. We present the results of the “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” reanalysis, reasons for the failure of previous analyses, and lessons learned. Methods Data from the first 3576 exomes (1522 probands and 2054 relatives) collected from European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies was reanalyzed by the Solve-RD consortium by evaluating for the presence of single-nucleotide variant, and small insertions and deletions already reported as (likely) pathogenic in ClinVar. Variants were filtered according to frequency, genotype, and mode of inheritance and reinterpreted. Results We identified causal variants in 59 cases (3.9%), 50 of them also raised by other approaches and 9 leading to new diagnoses, highlighting interpretation challenges: variants in genes not known to be involved in human disease at the time of the first analysis, misleading genotypes, or variants undetected by local pipelines (variants in off-target regions, low quality filters, low allelic balance, or high frequency). Conclusion The “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” analysis represents an effective, fast, and easy approach to recover causal variants from exome sequencing data, herewith contributing to the reduction of the diagnostic deadlock.

Abstract: Purpose Within the Solve-RD project (https://solve-rd.eu/), the European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies aimed to investigate whether a reanalysis of exomes from unsolved cases based on ClinVar annotations could establish additional diagnoses. We present the results of the “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” reanalysis, reasons for the failure of previous analyses, and lessons learned. Methods Data from the first 3576 exomes (1522 probands and 2054 relatives) collected from European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies was reanalyzed by the Solve-RD consortium by evaluating for the presence of single-nucleotide variant, and small insertions and deletions already reported as (likely) pathogenic in ClinVar. Variants were filtered according to frequency, genotype, and mode of inheritance and reinterpreted. Results We identified causal variants in 59 cases (3.9%), 50 of them also raised by other approaches and 9 leading to new diagnoses, highlighting interpretation challenges: variants in genes not known to be involved in human disease at the time of the first analysis, misleading genotypes, or variants undetected by local pipelines (variants in off-target regions, low quality filters, low allelic balance, or high frequency). Conclusion The “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” analysis represents an effective, fast, and easy approach to recover causal variants from exome sequencing data, herewith contributing to the reduction of the diagnostic deadlock.

Abstract: Background Exome and genome sequencing are the predominant techniques in the diagnosis and research of genetic disorders. Sufficient, uniform and reproducible/consistent sequence coverage is a main determinant for the sensitivity to detect single-nucleotide (SNVs) and copy number variants (CNVs). Here we compared the ability to obtain comprehensive exome coverage for recent exome capture kits and genome sequencing techniques. Results We compared three different widely used enrichment kits (Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V5, Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V7 and Twist Bioscience) as well as short-read and long-read WGS. We show that the Twist exome capture significantly improves complete coverage and coverage uniformity across coding regions compared to other exome capture kits. Twist performance is comparable to that of both short- and long-read whole genome sequencing. Additionally, we show that even at a reduced average coverage of 70× there is only minimal loss in sensitivity for SNV and CNV detection. Conclusion We conclude that exome sequencing with Twist represents a significant improvement and could be performed at lower sequence coverage compared to other exome capture techniques.

Abstract: © 2023 by the authors, Several clinical trials are working on drug development for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy (DMD and BMD) treatment, and, since the expected increase in dystrophin is relatively subtle, high-sensitivity quantification methods are necessary. There is also a need to quantify dystrophin to reach a definitive diagnosis in individuals with mild BMD, and in female carriers. We developed a method for the quantification of dystrophin in DMD and BMD patients using spectral confocal microscopy. It offers the possibility to capture the whole emission spectrum for any antibody, ensuring the selection of the emission peak and allowing the detection of fluorescent emissions of very low intensities. Fluorescence was evaluated first on manually selected regions of interest (ROIs), proving the usefulness of the methodology. Later, ROI selection was automated to make it operator-independent. The proposed methodology correctly classified patients according to their diagnosis, detected even minimal traces of dystrophin, and the results obtained automatically were statistically comparable to the manual ones. Thus, spectral imaging could be implemented to measure dystrophin expression and it could pave the way for detailed analysis of how its expression relates to the clinical course. Abstract: Purpose Within the Solve-RD project (https://solve-rd.eu/), the European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies aimed to investigate whether a reanalysis of exomes from unsolved cases based on ClinVar annotations could establish additional diagnoses. We present the results of the “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” reanalysis, reasons for the failure of previous analyses, and lessons learned. Methods Data from the first 3576 exomes (1522 probands and 2054 relatives) collected from European Reference Network for Intellectual disability, TeleHealth, Autism and Congenital Anomalies was reanalyzed by the Solve-RD consortium by evaluating for the presence of single-nucleotide variant, and small insertions and deletions already reported as (likely) pathogenic in ClinVar. Variants were filtered according to frequency, genotype, and mode of inheritance and reinterpreted. Results We identified causal variants in 59 cases (3.9%), 50 of them also raised by other approaches and 9 leading to new diagnoses, highlighting interpretation challenges: variants in genes not known to be involved in human disease at the time of the first analysis, misleading genotypes, or variants undetected by local pipelines (variants in off-target regions, low quality filters, low allelic balance, or high frequency). Conclusion The “ClinVar low-hanging fruit” analysis represents an effective, fast, and easy approach to recover causal variants from exome sequencing data, herewith contributing to the reduction of the diagnostic deadlock.

Abstract: Several clinical trials are working on drug development for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy (DMD and BMD) treatment, and, since the expected increase in dystrophin is relatively subtle, high-sensitivity quantification methods are necessary. There is also a need to quantify dystrophin to reach a definitive diagnosis in individuals with mild BMD, and in female carriers. We developed a method for the quantification of dystrophin in DMD and BMD patients using spectral confocal microscopy. It offers the possibility to capture the whole emission spectrum for any antibody, ensuring the selection of the emission peak and allowing the detection of fluorescent emissions of very low intensities. Fluorescence was evaluated first on manually selected regions of interest (ROIs), proving the usefulness of the methodology. Later, ROI selection was automated to make it operator-independent. The proposed methodology correctly classified patients according to their diagnosis, detected even minimal traces of dystrophin, and the results obtained automatically were statistically comparable to the manual ones. Thus, spectral imaging could be implemented to measure dystrophin expression and it could pave the way for detailed analysis of how its expression relates to the clinical course. Studies could be further expanded to better understand the expression of dystrophin-associated protein complexes (DAPCs).

Abstract: KIF21B is a kinesin highly expressed in neurons with a dual function: cargo transport and modulation of microtubule dynamics. Its expression is upregulated in various neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. In addition, a correlation between KIF21B and GFAP was described for patients with multiple sclerosis in the white matter. These data prompted us to study the role of KIF21B in astrocyte reactivity and autophagy, a catabolic process that may contribute to limiting the damage and favoring the repair of damaged tissues after injury or infection. For in vivo experiments, 90 days old male and female mice were injected intraperitoneally with two doses of LPS (1 mg/kg). Also, mice from the same age were used to perform a traumatic brain injury (TBI) model. For in vitro studies, we used P0-P2 CD1 sexed mice to culture primary astrocytes from the cortex. KIF21B was silenced using siRNA, and cells were treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and hydroxychloroquine to evaluate changes in autophagy. Using two in vivo models of neuroinflammation, we found that KIF21B is present in reactive astrocytes with an anti-inflammatory phenotype. In contrast, we did not find KIF21B expression in pro-inflammatory astrocytes. Our in vitro results show that silencing KIF21B disrupts astrocyte autophagy in inflammatory conditions increasing LC3-II and p62 protein levels and decreasing autophagic flux. Moreover, the action of KIF21B on autophagy is sexually dimorphic: in females, silencing KIF21B produces a more significant autophagic block than in males. KIF21B might constitute a new therapeutic target to modulate the autophagy of misfolded proteins in the cytosol to prevent neurodegenerative diseases. The reduction in autophagy flux and the increase in LC3-II and p62 show that KIF21B's absence is related to autophagy dysfunction. Abstract: [Background] Up to 7% of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) or Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) remain genetically undiagnosed after routine genetic testing. These patients are thought to carry deep intronic variants, structural variants or splicing alterations not detected through multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification or exome sequencing., [Methods] RNA was extracted from seven muscle biopsy samples of patients with genetically undiagnosed DMD/BMD after routine genetic diagnosis. RT-PCR of the DMD gene was performed to detect the presence of alternative transcripts. Droplet digital PCR and whole-genome sequencing were also performed in some patients., [Results] We identified an alteration in the mRNA level in all the patients. We detected three pseudoexons in DMD caused by deep intronic variants, two of them not previously reported. We also identified a chromosomal rearrangement between Xp21.2 and 8p22. Furthermore, we detected three exon skipping events with unclear pathogenicity., [Conclusion] These findings indicate that mRNA analysis of the DMD gene is a valuable tool to reach a precise genetic diagnosis in patients with a clinical and anatomopathological suspicion of dystrophinopathy that remain genetically undiagnosed after routine genetic testing.

For instance, the developmental actions of estradiol on hippocampal neurons are well characterized, and we have demonstrated in previous studies that Ngn3 mediates these actions. On the other hand, Kif21B regulates microtubule dynamics and carries out retrograde transport of the TrkB/brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) complex, essential for neuronal development. Methods: In the present study, we assessed the involvement of kinesin Kif21B in the estradiol-dependent signaling mechanisms to regulate neuritogenesis through cultured mouse hippocampal neurons. Results: We show that estradiol treatment increases BDNF expression, and estradiol and BDNF modify neuron morphology through TrkB signaling. Treatment with K252a, a TrkB inhibitor, decreases dendrite branching without affecting axonal length, whereas. Combined with estradiol or BDNF, it blocks their effects on axons but not dendrites. Notably, the downregulation of Kif21B abolishes the actions of estradiol and BDNF in both the axon and dendrites. In addition, Kif21B silencing also decreases Ngn3 expression, and downregulation of Ngn3 blocks the effect of BDNF on neuron morphology. Discussion: These results suggest that Kif21B is required for the effects of estradiol and BDNF on neuronal morphology, but phosphorylation-mediated activation of TrkB is essential only for axonal growth. Our results show that the Estradiol/BDNF/TrkB/Kif21B/Ngn3 is a new and essential pathway mediating hippocampal neuron development.

Abstract: TSPO is involved in the rate-limiting step of de novo neuroactive steroids (NAS) production. Although studies have proved the effects of NAS on neuritogenesis in the hippocampus, none of them have yet investigated the potential role of TSPO in promoting neuronal development, as well as whether TSPO could have sex-dimorphic activities on brain cells. Primary hippocampal neuronal cultures were established using mouse embryos at 17 days of gestation and cultured separately based on sex. TSPO mRNA and protein levels were evaluated on different days in vitro (DIVs). To establish the role of TSPO in neuronal development, neurons were treated with the selective TSPO ligands, PK11195, XBD-173, or PIGA1138, or cotreated with the inhibitors aminoglutethimide, letrozole, or k252a, thus morphological analysis was performed. Neuronal TSPO was silenced by nucleoporation and the expression of neuronal markers and of the estradiol-regulated expression of BDNF and Neurogenin3 (Ngn3) were investigated. Sex dimorphisms in neuronal TSPO expression were observed only at the DIV1. Treatment with TSPO ligands increased axon length and branching with major effects in female neurons. Co-treatment with TSPO ligands and inhibitors abolished the effects of TSPO ligands on neuronal development, suggesting the role of estradiol (E2) as an inter-player for TSPOmediated neuritogenesis. Increased levels of E2, BDNF, and Ngn3 also confirmed the involvement of this cellular pathway. Notably, TSPO silencing affected the expression of neuronal markers related to proper neuronal functions and development only in female neurons, with particular effects on Ngn3 expression. Results show that the regulation of neuronal TSPO activity may occur in a sex-dependent manner. TSPO-mediated regulation of endogenous levels of E2 and of the pro-neural factors BDNF and Ngn3 paves the way for using TSPO as a possible therapeutic target to promote neuronal development and synapse formation.

Abstract: Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) signaling plays a key role in neuroinflammation. Here we show that IGF-1 also regulates phagocytosis of reactive astrocytes through p110¿ isoform of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), differentially in both sexes. Systemic bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treatment increased the expression of GFAP, a reactive astrocyte marker, in the cortex of mice in both sexes and was blocked by IGF-1 only in males. In primary astrocytes, LPS enhanced the mRNA expression of Toll-like receptors (TLR2,4) and proinflammatory factors: inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), chemokine interferon-¿-inducible protein-10 (IP-10) and cytokines (IL-1ß, IL-6, and IL-10) in male and female. Treatment with IGF-1 counteracted TLR4 but not TLR2, iNOS, and IP10 expression in both sexes and cytokines expression in males. Furthermore, reactive astrocyte phagocytosis was modulated by IGF-1 only in male astrocytes. IGF-1 was also able to increase AKT-phosphorylation only in male astrocytes. PI3K inhibitors, AG66, TGX-221, and CAL-101, with selectivity toward catalytic p110¿, p110ß, and p110¿ isoforms respectively, reduced AKT-phosphorylation in males. All isoforms interact physically with IGF-1-receptor in both sexes. However, the expression of p110¿ is higher in males while the expression of IGF-1-receptor is similar in male and female. AG66 suppressed the IGF-1 effect on cytokine expression and counteracted the IGF-1-produced phagocytosis decrease in male reactive astrocytes. Results suggest that sex-differences in the effect of IGF-1 on the AKT-phosphorylation could be due to a lower expression of the p110¿ in female and that IGF-1-effects on the inflammatory response and phagocytosis of male reactive astrocytes are mediated by p110¿/PI3K subunit.

23. COVID-19 in children with neuromuscular disorders

Abstract: Objective Children with neuromuscular disorders have been assumed to be a particularly vulnerable population since the beginning of COVID-19. Although this is a plausible hypothesis, there is no evidence that complications or mortality rates in neuromuscular patients are higher than in the general population. The aim of this study is to describe the clinical charac teristics and outcome of COVID-19 in children with neuromuscular disorders. Methods A registry of children with neuromuscular conditions and laboratory-confrmed-SARS-CoV-2 infection was set up by the Neuromuscular Working Group of the Spanish Pediatric Neurology Society (SENEP). Data to be collected were focused on the characteristics and baseline status of the neuromuscular condition and the course of COVID-19. Results Severe complications were not observed in our series of 29 children with neuromuscular disorders infected by SARS-CoV-2. Eighty-nine percent of patients were clinically categorized as asymptomatic or mild cases and 10% as moderate cases. Patients with a relatively more severe course of COVID-19 had SMA type 1 and were between 1 and 3 years. Conclusions The course of COVID-19 in children with neuromuscular disorders may not be as severe as expected. The protective role of young age seems to outweigh the risk factors that are common in neuromuscular patients, such as a decreased respiratory capacity or a weak cough. Further studies are needed to know if this finding can be generalized to children with other chronic diseases

Referenciant l´obra d´Artur Heras "Ribera i Jo", on l´autor que no té condicions d´historiador ni escriptor ens presenta un dietari il·lustrat. Aquest projecte té com a finalitat la investigació i el coneixement de la identitat valenciana mitjançant l´elaboració de pintures plàstiques e il·lustracions digitals. La memòria recull el procés de producció del projecte, així com el desenvolupament de la idea i les ferramentes utilitzades. El viatge del llaurador serveix de context per a explicar el marc social i cultural de la dècada dels cinquanta a Xàtiva, així també evocar l´entorn valencià per mitjà de representacions de serralades, monuments històrics, bancals... Abstract: This article analyzes a passage of the Epithalamium inserted in Góngora’s Soledades (I, 815-817), taking into account the reception of classical literary motifs in Neo-Latin and vernacular literature. The mention of the mythical figure of Niobe in a fragment of the nuptial chorus assumes the oratory function of an exemplum a contrario, since although it exalts the fecundity of the Theban queen, at the same time it warns the bride against the risks of pride, impiety and boasting. To illuminate the exemplary meaning the female figure assumes several epigrams and emblems are closely examined in order to identify correctly the moral warning., Este artículo analiza un pasaje inserto en el epitalamio de las Soledades de Luis de Góngora (I, 815-817), atendiendo a la recepción de motivos literarios greco-latinos en la literatura neolatina y vernácula. La mención de la figura mítica de Níobe en un fragmento del coro nupcial asume la función oratoria de un exemplum a contrario, ya que si bien exalta la fecundidad de la reina de Tebas, al mismo tiempo previene a la novia contra los riesgos de la soberbia, la impiedad y la jactancia. Para iluminar el sentido ejemplar que asume aquel personaje femenino, se examinan de cerca varios epigramas y emblemas sobre el mismo motivo, atendiendo a la advertencia moral que portan.

Abstract: The term neuromuscular disorder (NMD) includes many genetic and acquired diseases and differential diagnosis can be challenging. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) is especially useful in this setting given the large number of possible candidate genes, the clinical, pathological, and genetic heterogeneity, the absence of an established genotype-phenotype correlation, and the exceptionally large size of some causative genes such as TTN, NEB and RYR1. We evaluated the diagnostic value of a custom targeted next-generation sequencing gene panel to study the mutational spectrum of a subset of NMD patients in Spain. In an NMD cohort of 207 patients with congenital myopathies, distal myopathies, congenital and adult-onset muscular dystrophies, and congenital myasthenic syndromes, we detected causative mutations in 102 patients (49.3%), involving 42 NMD-related genes. The most common causative genes, TTN and RYR1, accounted for almost 30% of cases. Thirty-two of the 207 patients (15.4%) carried variants of uncertain significance or had an unidentified second mutation to explain the genetic cause of the disease. In the remaining 73 patients (35.3%), no candidate variant was identified. In combination with patients’ clinical and myopathological data, the custom gene panel designed in our lab proved to be a powerful tool to diagnose patients with myopathies, muscular dystrophies and congenital myasthenic syndromes. Targeted NGS approaches enable a rapid and cost-effective analysis of NMD- related genes, offering reliable results in a short time and relegating invasive techniques to a second tier.

Abstract: In this talk we will describe the characterization of the chronological relation on doubly warped product spacetimes of the form (a, b) × M1 × M2 with Lorentzian metric g = −dt2 + α1g1 + α2g2, and we will discuss when these spacetimes are causally continuos and causally simple. Abstract: En este trabajo presentamos una primera aproximación al estudio geométrico de la aerodinámica de curvas y superficies. En primer lugar, motivaremos el estudio a partir de situaciones concretas y ejemplos físicos, para después adaptar el método de aproximación normal de curvas y superficies regulares, mediante curvas y superficies de Bézier, introducido por A. Carriazo, M. C. Márquez y H. Ugail. Concluiremos presentando ejemplos gráficos.

Abstract: The notion of a uniformly accelerated rectilinear motion of an observer in a general spacetime is analysed in detail. From a geometric viewpoint, a uniformly accelerated observer may be seen as a Lorentzian circle. Finally, we find geometric assumptions to ensure that an inextensible uniformly accelerated rectilinear observer does not disappear in a finite proper time.

Abstract: We provide a new construction of Lagrangian surfaces in C2 in terms of two planar curves. When we take such curves as appropriate solutions of the curve shortening problem, including self-shrinking and self-expanding curves or spirals, we will obtain translating solitons which generalize the Joyce, Lee and Tsui ones in dimension two D. Joyce, Y.-I. Lee, and M.-P. Tsui. Self-similar solutions and translating solitons for Lagrangian mean curvature flow. J. Differential Geom. 84 (2010), no. 1, 127-161. Finally, we characterize locally all examples in terms of an analytical condition on the Hermitian product of the position vector of the immersion and the translating vector that allows us separation of variables. As a consequence we get the classification of the Hamiltonian stationary Lagrangian translating solitons for Lagrangian mean curvature flow in complex Euclidean plane. This work is based in I. Abstract: Using a correspondence between totally umbilic null hypersurfaces in generalized Robertson-Walker spaces and twisted decompositions of the fibre we show that nullcones are the unique totally umbilic null hypersurfaces in the closed Friedmann Cosmological model and a uniqueness result for dual pairs of totally umbilic null hypersurfaces in Reissner-Nordström and De Sitter-Schwarzschild spacetimes.

Abstract: This communication is focused on the study of contractions of certain types of Lie algebras of low dimension, in order to address the implementation of the results to certain physical concepts, such as the boundary process by which quantum mechanics contracts to classical mechanics. To do this, we consider in the first place the contractions of filiform Lie algebras, which were introduced by M. Vergné in 1966, by using the psi and phi invariant functions, introduced in 2008 by Hrivnák and Novotny. These functions are also dealt with other types of algebra, as Heisenberg algebras among others, and we study the existing contractions between these algebras.
