Background: Workplace bullying in clinical nurse education significantly threatens students' well-being and professional development. Despite its prevalence, many incidents go unreported, exacerbating the issue and compromising the quality of care. A significant gap exists in the literature regarding comprehensive mixed-methods systematic reviews on unreported bullying incidents among nursing students. This review aims to address this knowledge gap and propose effective strategies to tackle this pervasive problem., Aim: This mixed-methods systematic review aimed to explore the factors influencing the non-reporting of workplace bullying incidents among nursing students during clinical practice., Design: Mixed-methods systematic review., Review Methods and Data Sources: An extensive literature search was conducted across ten databases, including PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Scopus, Chinese Biomedical, China National Knowledge Internet, and WANFANG, from database inception to November 1, 2023. Google Scholar and reference lists of included studies were also searched. Studies were selected based on eligibility criteria regarding population, phenomena of interest, and context. Two researchers independently assessed study quality, with disagreements resolved by a third reviewer. Relevant data were extracted and synthesized using the Joanna Briggs Institute's convergent integrated approach, ensuring a comprehensive integration of qualitative and quantitative findings., Results: Twenty-one studies met the inclusion criteria, comprising six qualitative, twelve quantitative, and three mixed-methods studies. Four integrated themes emerged from nursing students' perspectives on reasons for not reporting workplace bullying during clinical practice: (i) fear and concerns related to reporting, (ii) concerns about professional image, (iii) barriers and challenges in reporting, and (iv) perceived ineffectiveness of reporting., Conclusions: This systematic review provides valuable insights into nursing students' perspectives on the non-reporting of workplace bullying incidents during clinical practice. Previous research on sexual violence suggests that there is a higher likelihood of students from LGBTQ+ community experiencing sexual violence and not reporting it. This study investigates various types of sexual violence experienced by the LGBTQ+ students and the prevalence of reporting it. The study further determines why different types of sexual violence are not being reported. This study uses a LGBTQ+ scholarship survey data conducted in 2019. Using Pearson's chi square analysis, the study investigates the relationship between who experienced various kinds of sexual violence and those who do not report it. The study provides descriptive analysis of reasons for not reporting sexual violence across different types of sexual violence. The results show that there is a statistically significant relationship between those who experienced various kinds of sexual violence and those who do not report it. In addition, the study illustrates mistrust in support services and fear of embarrassment as the major reasons resulting in non-reporting behaviors. In conclusion, the study illustrates high prevalence for various types of sexual violence against LGBTQ+ students as well as high underreporting. Study results have implications for health professionals and institutions to focus efforts in making school environments safe and inclusive for LGBTQ+ students.

Introduction: COVID-19 pandemic induced lockdown as prevention and control measure, forced people globally to limit their movements and to stay at home for extended period of time. The objective of this study was to analyze the impact of lockdown on intimate partner violence in Bangladesh., Methods: We conducted a secondary research by employing a Poisson regression model to estimate the effect of pandemic-led lockdown policy on the change in the number of intimate partner violence-related calls during pandemic using national emergency helpline 999 call logs. Data from January 2019 to May 2020 for 64 districts produced 1088 district-month-year observations which had been used for the main analysis., Results: We found a 46% decrease in the incidence rate of intimate partner violence-related calls during the pandemic after adjusting for year, month, district fixed-effects-suggesting, non-reporting of the violence might have exacerbated during lockdown., Conclusion: While increasing rate of intimate partner violence is one side of issue, non-reporting of it has received less attention and during the lockdown non-reporting might grow large and have severe health impacts for women.

Background: Medical errors frequently occur in health care facilities, jeopardizing patient safety and increasing associated costs., Aims: This cross-sectional investigation examined the rates of and reasons for non-reporting of medical errors at Nemazee Hospital, Shiraz, Islamic Republic of Iran., Methods: Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 283 staff members, including physicians, nurses and medical students. One-way analysis of variance, Fisher's least significant difference post hoc, Spearman correlation coefficient and intraclass correlation tests were used for statistical analyses., Results: Almost all (95.8%) participants had observed at least 1 medical error during the previous year, with over half (50.5%) observing 3-10 errors. The preferred method for reporting medical errors among physicians and medical students was verbal and informal (40.3% and 41.8% respectively), while nurses preferred written forms (45.7%). The results indicated significant differences between groups concerning individual and organizational barriers in general, and among all sub-categories (P < 0.001)., Conclusion: Concerns of legal entanglements and confidentiality issues were recognized as the main barriers to reporting medical errors., (Copyright © World Health Organization (WHO) 2020.
