Previous studies have focused more on the facilitating effect of nature exposure on positive behavioural consequences. However, less attention has been paid to whether nature exposure can inhibit internalized problem behaviours, such as Internet addiction. Within the framework of the stimuli-organism-response theory, the present study examined the relationship between nature exposure and Internet addiction and investigated the mediating roles of anthropomorphism of nature and awe. In China, we recruited 1469 adolescents (mean age = 13.90 years old, SD = 0.59, 53.2% girls). Mediation analyses indicated that awe partially mediated the relationship between nature exposure and adolescents' Internet addiction. The anthropomorphism of nature and awe served as sequential mediating roles in the relationship between nature exposure and adolescents' Internet addiction. PET/PA6, hollow, segmented-pie, microfiber nonwovens (PET/PA6 HSMNs) play an important role in a microfiber, synthetic leather base. Most of the current PET/PA6 HSMNs generally lack in hygiene performance. Moreover, there is an urgent need for the asymmetric wettability of PET/PA6 HSMNs to ensure the comfort of clothing. In this work, a novel, asymmetrically wettable, PET/PA6 HSMN with a gradient structure is proposed, which can regulate liquid adsorption and directional transport. An MOF-303 was successfully synthesized and loaded onto the PET/PA6 HSMN, which had been pre-treated with gradient hydrolysis under sulfuric acid. The droplet quickly permeated the modified PET/PA6 HSMN, and the droplet disappearance time decreased to 62.40 ms. The liquid strikethrough time of the modified PET/PA6 HSMN reached 5.16 s. The maximum adsorption capacity of the modified PET/PA6 HSMN was 68.161 mg/g, which was improved by 122.83%. In addition, the air permeability of the pre-treated PET/PA6 HSMN increased from 308.70 mm/s to 469.97 mm/s, with the sulfuric acid concentrations increasing from 0% to 20%, and the air permeability of the modified PET/PA6 HSMN decreased gradually from 247.37 mm/s to 161.50 mm/s. Furthermore, the tensile strength of the modified PET/PA6 HSMN treated with sulfuric acid and MOF-303 was also obviously enhanced compared with the PET/PA6 HSMN treated with pure sulfuric acid. This PET/PA6 HSMN, with asymmetric wettability, owing to its high hygiene performance and water transport capabilities, is promising and able to extend the application of a microfiber synthetic leather base for clothing.

The quality of the recipient cytoplasm was reported as a crucial factor in maintaining the vitality of SCNT embryos and SCNT efficiency for dairy cows. Compared with oocytes matured in vivo, oocytes matured in vitro showed abnormal accumulation and metabolism of cytoplasmic lipids. L-carnitine treatment was found to control fatty acid transport into the mitochondrial β-oxidation pathway, which improved the process of lipid metabolism. The results of this study show that 0.5 mg/ml L-carnitine significantly reduced the cytoplasmic lipid content relative to control. No significant difference was observed in the rate of oocyte nuclear maturation, but the in vitro developmental competence of SCNT embryos was improved in terms of increased blastocyst production and lower apoptotic index in the L-carnitine treatment group. In addition, the pregnancy rate with SCNT embryos in the treatment group was significantly higher than in the control group. In Brief: HSP90AA1 is a ubiquitous molecular chaperone that can resist cellular stress, such as oxidative stress and apoptosis, and mediate the efficacy and protein folding of normal cells during heat stress, as well as many other functions. This study further reveals the role of HSP90AA1 in bovine oocyte maturation and early embryonic development., Abstract: HSP90AA1, a highly abundant and ubiquitous molecular chaperone, plays important roles in various cellular processes including cell cycle control, cell survival, and hormone signaling pathways. In this study, we investigated the functions of HSP90AA1 in bovine oocyte and early embryo development. We found that HSP90AA1 was expressed at all stages of development, but was mainly located in the cytoplasm, with a small amount distributed in the nucleus. We then evaluated the effect of HSP90AA1 on the in vitro maturation of bovine oocytes using tanespimycin (17-AAG), a highly selective inhibitor of HSP90AA1. The results showed that inhibition of HSP90AA1 decreased nuclear and cytoplasmic maturation of oocytes, disrupted spindle assembly and chromosome distribution, significantly increased acetylation levels of α-tubulin in oocytes and affected epigenetic modifications (H3K27me3 and H3K27ac). In addition, H3K9me3 was increased at various stages during early embryo development. Finally, the impact of HSP90AA1 on early embryo development was explored. The results showed that inhibition of HSP90AA1 reduced the cleavage and blastocyst formation rates, while increasing the fragmentation rate and decreasing blastocyst quality. In conclusion, HSP90AA1 plays a crucial role in bovine oocyte maturation as well as early embryo development.

Accumulating evidence indicates that paternally-derived miRNAs play a crucial role in the development of early embryos and are regarded as the key factor in the successful development of somatic cell cloned embryos. In our previous study, bta-miR-301a was found to be highly expressed in bovine sperm, and was delivered into oocytes during fertilization. In this study, bioinformatics, dual luciferase reporter assays, rescue experiments and gain- and loss-of-function experiments indicated that ACVR1 is the target gene of bta-miR-301a in early bovine embryos. By microinjecting bta-miR-301a mimic into embryos of parthenogenetic or somatic cell nuclear transfer, we observed that bta-miR-301a prolonged the first cleavage time of the embryos and increased the blastocyst formation rate. Thus, this study provides preliminary evidence that bta-miR-301a influences remodeling of the microfilament skeleton, prolongs the first cleavage time, and improves the developmental competence of embryos by negatively regulating ACVR1 translation., (© The Author(s) 2024. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) that play a significant role in bovine embryo development; but the influence of sperm-borne lncRNA on the preimplantation development of bovine embryos has not been reported in detail. In this study, we aimed to clarify how sperm-borne lncRNAs can act to regulate early development of bovine embryos. Utilizing high-throughput sequencing technology and quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR), we found that the lncRNA, loc100847420, was highly enriched in bovine sperm and was carried into the oocyte during fertilization. Introduction of wild-type loc100847420 had no effect on cleavage rate of parthenogenetic embryos compared with injection of mutant loc100847420 (70.58 ± 2.85% vs 70.46 ± 1.98%, p > 0.05), but significantly improved the blastocyst rate (33.67 ± 2.40% vs 28.35 ± 3.06%, p < 0.05), total numbers of cells (p < 0.05), numbers of inner cell mass (ICM) cells (p < 0.05) and numbers of trophoblast (TE) cells (p < 0.05). Polyester/polyamide 6 hollow segmented pie bicomponent spunbond hydro-entangled microfiber nonwovens (PET/PA6) with a microfilament structure have recently emerged in many markets around the world due to their green, high-strength, and lightweight properties. However, PET/PA6 is highly hydrophobic, which inhibits its large-scale application at present. In order to enhance the hydrophilic performance of PET/PA6, many methods have been applied, but the effects are not obvious. Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation treatment has proven to be an effective method to improve the hydrophilicity of fabrics. Herein, the aim of this paper was to investigate hydrophilic modification of PET/PA6 by UV/TiO 2 /H 2 O 2 . The effect of H 2 O 2 , nano-TiO 2 , and UV irradiation time on the morphology, elemental composition, hydrophilic properties, and mechanical properties of PET/PA6 were systematically investigated. The results showed that the modified microfibers were coated with a layer of granular material on the surface. It was found that the C 1 s peak could be deconvoluted into six components (C-C-C, C-C-O, O-C=O, N-C=O, N-C-C, and C-C=O), and a suitable mechanism was proposed. Moreover, the water contact angle of PET/PA6 modified by 90 min irradiation with UV/TiO 2 /H 2 O 2 decreased to zero in 0.015 s, leading to the water vapor transmission rate and the water absorption reaching 5567.49 g/(m 2 ·24 h) and 438.81%, respectively. In addition, the modified PET/PA6 had an excellent liquid wicking height of 141.87 mm and liquid wicking rate of 28.37 mm/min.

Oxidative stress (OS) has been considered the principle cause of developmental failure of early embryos cultured in vitro; therefore, the addition of antioxidants is very important for improving in vitro culture (IVC) systems. Various antioxidants have been tested for IVC systems, but most have exhibited some side effects. Kaempferol (3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-[4-hydroxyphenyl]-4 h-1-benzopyran-4-one, KAE) is a flavonoid with strong antioxidant activity and no obvious side effects. This study explored the effect of KAE on antioxidant capacity and developmental competence of bovine embryos after fertilization. KAE was added to bovine IVC medium and significantly reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) in 2-, 4- and 8-cell stage embryos and increased blastocyst formation. In addition, the level of H3K9ac was increased, the apoptotic index was reduced and total cell numbers and trophectoderm cell numbers in day 7 blastocysts were increased significantly in KAE-treated embryos compared to control. Expression of the apoptotic gene, Bcl-2, was higher in blastocysts after KAE treatment, while expression of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress genes, Bip and HDAC1, and the pro-apoptotic gene, Bax, were significantly lower in the KAE group. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of carboxymethyl celluloses (CMC) with different structures (viscosity and degree of substitution) on the stability of tartrates as well as the growth mechanism of potassium bitartrate (KHT) crystals. Six CMC samples with different viscosity and degree of substitution were investigated by GPC, XRD and SEM to establish their molecular weight, crystal structure, particle size and molecular morphology. As oenological additives, they were studied in model solution and in Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The tartaric stability and inhibitory efficiency were evaluated by conductivity via mini-contact test and compared with metatartaric acid and mannoproteins commercial additives. The results suggest that under the same degree of substitution (DS), with an increase of viscosity, CMC molecular chains agglomerate and fold, the solubility in the wine decreases, thus the effect of stabilising tartrate deteriorates. Whilst at the same viscosity, with an increase of DS, the charge density of CMC molecules increases and the binding ability of ions increases and thus the stabilising tartrate has an obvious effect. The negative charge on the -COO- groups extended from CMC polymer tends to repulse the HT - group in solution while attracting K + ions to produce a concentration gradient at the crystal surface. In addition, CMC complexes with K + ions in solution, reducing the number of K + ions able to diffuse to the adsorption layer. Generally, CMC-6 with a higher the degree of substitution and lower viscosity had best application effect on tartrate stabilisation, and from the price and application performance, CMC was found to be superior to commercial additives like metatartaric acid and mannoproteins.

Core-shell structured Ag@PPy nano-particles (NPs) were prepared by a facile method through a redox reaction, where silver nitrate and pyrrole were employed as reactants, sodium dodecyl benzyl sulfonate (SDBS) was used as a template to induce the formation of nanofiber-like Ag@PPy core-shell structure. Formation processes of this kind of structure were proposed. Firstly, sphere-like Ag@PPy structures were produced. Secondly, these sphere-like particles assembled to form nanofiber-like morphology. Effects of the concentration of SDBS on morphology of the sample were investigated. When the morphology of the samples changed from spherical to nanofibrous, the electrical conductivity of the sample increased from 11±2 to 165±5S/cm., (Copyright © 2012 Elsevier B.V. Stable magnetic nanofluids containing Fe3O4@Polypyrrole (PPy) nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by using a facile and novel method, in which one-pot route was used. FeCl3·6H2O was applied as the iron source, and the oxidizing agent to produce PPy. Trisodium citrate (Na3cit) was used as the reducing reagent to form Fe3O4 NPs. The as-prepared nanofluid can keep long-term stability. The Fe3O4@PPy NPs can still keep dispersing well after the nanofluid has been standing for 1 month and no sedimentation is found. The polymerization reaction of the pyrrole monomers took place with Fe3+ ions as the initiator, in which these Fe3+ ions remained in the solution adsorbed on the surface of the Fe3O4 NPs. Thus, the core-shell NPs of Fe3O4@PPy were obtained. The particle size of the as-prepared Fe3O4@PPy can be easily controlled from 7 to 30 nm by the polymerization reaction of the pyrrole monomers. The steric stabilization and weight of the NPs affect the stability of the nanofluids. The as-prepared Fe3O4@PPy NPs exhibit superparamagnetic behavior.
