This article examined the association between body satisfaction and sexual identification among lesbian and bisexual women, since these factors help to understand the cultural background of the objectification of female bodies in Latin cultures. Women who identify as lesbian (N = 239) and bisexual (N = 60) completed demographic data and measures of self-esteem, physical appearance perfectionism, lesbian and bisexual identity difficulties, and body satisfaction. We performed a three-stage hierarchical multiple regression to explore how variables relate to body satisfaction. The results suggest that self-esteem plays a key role, explaining 20.4% of the variance in body satisfaction. We discussed the psychosocial and cultural aspects involved in the relationship between the variables, and social and aesthetic pressures on women's bodies. This study contributes to discussions on psychosocial aspects associated with body satisfaction among Brazilian lesbian and bisexual women.

Background and Objective: Children with cognitive impairment (CI) are at risk of experiencing pain. Several specific pain rating scales have been developed to date. Thus, the aim of this meta-analysis was to estimate the degree of reliability of different pain assessment scales for the postoperative pain in children with CI., Databases and Data Treatment: PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science databases were approached: all studies validating and/or using pain assessment tool in children (0-20 years) with CI published in English from the 1st of January 2000 to the 1st of January 2022 were included. Only studies reporting the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) to evaluate the concordance between caregivers' and external researchers' scores were eligible., Results: Twelve studies were included (586 children with CI, 60% males; weighted mean age 9.9 years - range 2-20). Five of them evaluated the Non-Communicating Children's Pain Checklist-Postoperative Version (NCCPC-PV) scale whereas four the original and revised Face, Legs, Activity, Cry, Consolability (FLACC) scale. The analysis showed an overall ICC value of 0.76 (0.74-0.78) for the NCCPC-PV scale, with a high heterogeneity index (I 2  = 97%) and 0.87 (0.84-0.90) for the FLACC scale, with a discrete I 2 index (59%)., Conclusions: The NCCPC-PV and FLACC pain rating scales showed the strongest evidence for validity and reliability for assessing postoperative pain in children with CI. However, due to the high heterogeneity of the studies available, these results should not be considered conclusive., Significance: This review is focused on the assessment of pain in children with CI in the postoperative period. Simplified observation-based pain assessment tools that rely on evaluating non-verbal expressions of pain should be recommended for children with difficulties to communicate their feelings. Even if there is a high degree of heterogeneity in clinical presentations among youth with CI, two tools (NCCPC-PV and FLACC) have emerged as reliable and valid in this population., (© 2022 The Authors. This work sought to adapt the Perceived Community Support Questionnaire (PCSQ) to the Brazilian context, gathering evidence of its factorial structure and internal consistency. Two studies were performed. The first comprised 119 individuals aged between 21 and 85 years (M = 41.59, SD = 15.33) with incomplete elementary education (52.1%). An exploratory factor analysis was conducted and indicated a three-factor structure, explaining 42.3% of the total variance. The second study comprised 203 participants aged between 19 and 84 years (M = 42.99, SD = 12.70) with higher education (17.2%). The three-factor structure was corroborated by a confirmatory factor analysis (CFI = 0.944, TLI = 0.931, RMSEA = 0.088, 90%CI: 0.072; 0.103), and Cronbach's alpha was adequate. Questionnaire dimensions were named Community Integration, Community Participation, and Community Organizations. Despite the issues involving inverted items, the instrument gathered evidence of factorial validity and internal consistency, showing applicability to further studies.

Objective: To analyze how health professionals and health service users assess counseling on Rapid HIV test, as well as its implementation, which started in Brazil in 2010, focusing on positive aspects, barriers, and limitations, and analyzing possible meanings that are given to STD and HIV/AIDS., Method: Qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive research. Semi-structured interviews were administered to 27 service users and 14 health care professionals; a thematic analysis of the interviews was performed. The study was carried out in one of the first Counseling and Testing Centers (CTC) designed to implement Rapid HIV tests in Porto Alegre, Brazil., Results: Positive aspects of Rapid HIV testing implementation included a reduced waiting time for obtaining the test results, better assistance provision, an increase in the number of service hours, personalized pre- and post-tests, and better prepared health care professionals regarding health care during counseling. Limitations included beliefs about the effectiveness of Rapid HIV testing, physical structure, bad publicity on this technology, and poor health care capacity. Likewise, there are some who oppose this type of test, since they believe rapid tests may not be effective., Conclusions: Integrating the perspectives of health care professionals and users on this policy will favor future rapid test implementations in other CTCs, and increase health care access possibilities.
