As the rise of nonfullerene acceptors (NFA) has allowed lab-scale organic solar cells (OSC) to reach 20% efficiency, translating these devices into roll-to-roll compatible fabrication still poses many challenges for researchers. Among these are the use of green solvent solubility for large-scale manufacture, roll-to-roll compatible fabrication, and, not least, information on charge carrier dynamics in each upscaling step, to further understand the gap in performance. In this work, the reproducibility of champion devices using slot-die coating with 14% power conversion efficiency (PCE) is demonstrated, under the condition that the optimal thickness is maintained. It is further shown that for the donor:acceptor (D:A) blend PM6:Y12, the processing solvent has a more significant impact on charge carrier dynamics compared to the deposition technique. It is found that the devices processed with o-xylene feature a 40% decrease in the bimolecular recombination coefficient compared to those processed with CB, as well as a 70% increase in effective mobility. Finally, it is highlighted that blade-coating yields devices with similar carrier dynamics to slot-die coating, making it the optimal choice for lab-scale optimization with no significant loss in translation toward up-scale., (© 2024 The Author(s). Introduction: Treating a Class III malocclusion is often challenging for orthodontists. Bone-anchored maxillary protraction (BAMP) is known for achieving a significant maxillary protraction. The study aimed to evaluate the stress distribution and displacement of craniofacial bones as a reaction to the forces of BAMP, along with rapid maxillary expander and the posterior bite plane, in growing patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion using a finite element method., Methods: An finite element model was constructed from the spiral computed tomographic images of a skull from an 11-year-old growing patient with skeletal Class III malocclusion along with BAMP, rapid maxillary expander, and the posterior bite plane. The created model had 105,189 nodes and 481,066 elements. After assigning the appropriate material properties and the boundary condition, 800 g of transverse force per side and a Class III intraoral elastic 250 g of force per side were applied to the model, and after the postprocessing, the results were obtained in the form of color bands., Results: The maxilla and the attached structures were displaced and expanded transversely. The maxilla was displaced anteriorly by 0.692 mm, and the mandible was displaced backward by 0.204 mm in the sagittal direction. The anterior region of the maxilla and mandible, dentition, and nasal bone were rotated counterclockwise. Displacement in an upward direction was greatest at the symphysis region of the mandible. The stresses experienced by most of the bones were tensile, with the maxilla and maxillary dentition experiencing the maximum., Conclusions: Favorable changes were appreciated with maxillary forward and mandibular backward displacement, with appreciable tensile stresses in all the bones., (Copyright © 2023 American Association of Orthodontists. Perovskite photovoltaics have shown great promise in device efficiency but also the promise of scalability through solution-processed manufacture. Efforts to scale perovskites have been taken through printable mesoporous scaffolds and slot die coating of flexible substrates roll-to-roll (R2R). However, to date there has been no demonstration of entirely R2R-coated devices due to the lack of a compatible solution-processable back electrode; instead, high-value evaporated metal contacts are employed as a post process. Here, in this study, the combination of a low-temperature device structure and R2R-compatible solution formulations is employed to make a fully R2R printable device architecture overcoming interlayer incompatibilities and recombination losses. Therefore, the n-i-p device structure of SnO 2 /perovskite/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/carbon is employed to form an ohmic contact between a p-type semiconductor and printable carbon electrode. In particular, the results show that the small-scale device efficiencies of 13-14% are achieved, matching the device performance of evaporated gold electrodes. Also, this entirely R2R-coated perovskite prototype represents a game changer, reaching over 10% (10.8) stabilized power conversion efficiency with unencapsulated long-term stability retaining 84% of its original efficiency over 1000 h under 70% RH and 25 °C., (© 2023 The Authors. In this study, we designed, synthesized and evaluated, in vitro, novel chalcone analogs containing dialkylamino pharmacophores in the cervical cancer cell line, OV2008. The compound, DML6 was selective and significantly decreased the proliferation of OV2008 and HeLa cells in sub-micromolar concentrations, compared to prostate, lung, colon, breast or human embryonic kidney cell line (HEK293). DML6 , at 5 μM, arrested the OV2008 cells in the G2 phase. Furthermore, DML6 , at 5 μM, increased the levels of reactive oxygen species and induced a collapse in the mitochondrial membrane potential, compared to OV2008 cells incubated with a vehicle. DML6 , at 5 μM, induced intrinsic apoptosis by significantly (1) increasing the levels of the pro-apoptotic proteins, Bak and Bax, and (2) decreasing the levels of l the anti-apoptotic protein, Bcl-2, compared to cell incubated with a vehicle. Furthermore, DML6 , at 5 and 20 μM, induced the cleavage of caspase-9, followed by subsequent cleavage of the executioner caspases, caspase-3 and caspase-7, which produced OV2008 cell death. Overall, our data suggest that DML6 is an apoptosis-inducing compound that should undergo further evaluation as a potential treatment for cervical cancer.

Carbon based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are fabricated through easily scalable screen printing techniques, using abundant and cheap carbon to replace the hole transport material (HTM) and the gold electrode further reduces costs, and carbon acts as a moisture repellent that helps in maintaining the stability of the underlying perovskite active layer. An inorganic interlayer of spinel cobaltite oxides (Co 3 O 4 ) can greatly enhance the carbon based PSC performance by suppressing charge recombination and extracting holes efficiently. The main focus of this research work is to investigate the effectiveness of Co 3 O 4 spinel oxide as the hole transporting interlayer for carbon based perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In these types of PSCs, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) is restricted by the charge carrier transport and recombination processes at the carbon-perovskite interface. The spinel Co 3 O 4 nanoparticles are synthesized using the chemical precipitation method, and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-Vis spectroscopy. A screen printed thin layer of p-type inorganic spinel Co 3 O 4 in carbon PSCs provides a better-energy level matching, superior efficiency, and stability. Compared to standard carbon PSCs (PCE of 11.25%) an improved PCE of 13.27% with long-term stability, up to 2500 hours under ambient conditions, is achieved. Finally, the fabrication of a monolithic perovskite module is demonstrated, having an active area of 70 cm 2 and showing a power conversion efficiency of >11% with virtually no hysteresis. This indicates that Co 3 O 4 is a promising interlayer for efficient and stable large area carbon PSCs.

Stem cell research is a rapidly developing field that offers effective treatment for a variety of malignant and non-malignant diseases. Stem cell is a regenerative medicine associated with the replacement, repair, and restoration of injured tissue. Stem cell research is a promising field having maximum therapeutic potential. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are the cells within the tumor that posses capacity of selfrenewal and have a root cause for the failure of traditional therapies leading to re-occurrence of cancer. CSCs have been identified in blood, breast, brain, and colon cancer. Traditional therapies target only fast growing tumor mass, but not slow-dividing cancer stem cells. It has been shown that embryonic pathways such as Wnt, Hedgehog and Notch, control self-renewal capacity and involved in cancer stem cell maintenance. Targeting of these pathways may be effective in eradicating cancer stem cells and preventing chemotherapy and radiotherapy resistance. Targeting CSCs has become one of the most effective approaches to improve the cancer survival by eradicating the main root cause of cancer.
