Recognizing human-object interaction (HOI) aims at inferring various relationships between actions and objects. Although great progress in HOI has been made, the long-tail problem and combinatorial explosion problem are still practical challenges. To this end, we formulate HOI as a few-shot task to tackle both challenges and design a novel dynamic generation method to address this task. The proposed approach is called semantic-aware dynamic generation networks (SADG-Nets). Specifically, SADG-Net first assigns semantic-aware task representations for different batches of data, which further generates dynamic parameters. It obtains the features that highlight intercategory discriminability and intracategory commonality adaptively. In addition, we also design a dual semantic-aware encoder module (DSAE-Module), that is, verb-aware and noun-aware branches, to yield both action and object prototypes of HOI for each task space, which generalizes to novel combinations by transferring similarities among interactions. Extensive experimental results on two benchmark datasets, that is, humans interacting with common objects (HICO)-FS and trento universal HOI (TUHOI)-FS, illustrate that our SADG-Net achieves superior performance over state-of-the-art approaches, which proves its impressive effectiveness on few-shot HOI recognition.

Increased fatty acid synthesis benefits glioblastoma malignancy. However, the coordinated regulation of cytosolic acetyl-CoA production, the exclusive substrate for fatty acid synthesis, remains unclear. Here, we show that proto-oncogene tyrosine kinase c-SRC is activated in glioblastoma and remodels cytosolic acetyl-CoA production for fatty acid synthesis. Firstly, acetate is an important substrate for fatty acid synthesis in glioblastoma. c-SRC phosphorylates acetyl-CoA synthetase ACSS2 at Tyr530 and Tyr562 to stimulate the conversion of acetate to acetyl-CoA in cytosol. Secondly, c-SRC inhibits citrate-derived acetyl-CoA synthesis by phosphorylating ATP-citrate lyase ACLY at Tyr682. ACLY phosphorylation shunts citrate to IDH1-catalyzed NADPH production to provide reducing equivalent for fatty acid synthesis. The c-SRC-unresponsive double-mutation of ACSS2 and ACLY significantly reduces fatty acid synthesis and hampers glioblastoma progression. In conclusion, this remodeling fulfills the dual needs of glioblastoma cells for both acetyl-CoA and NADPH in fatty acid synthesis and provides evidence for glioma treatment by c-SRC inhibition., (© 2024. Study Question: What is the pathological mechanism involved in a thin endometrium, particularly under ischaemic conditions?, Summary Answer: Endometrial dysfunction in patients with thin endometrium primarily results from remodelling in cytoskeletons and cellular junctions of endometrial epithelial cells under ischemic conditions., What Is Known Already: A healthy endometrium is essential for successful embryo implantation and subsequent pregnancy; ischemic conditions in a thin endometrium compromise fertility outcomes., Study Design, Size, Duration: We recruited 10 patients with thin endometrium and 15 patients with healthy endometrium. Doppler ultrasound and immunohistochemical results confirmed the presence of insufficient endometrial blood perfusion in patients with thin endometrium. Organoids were constructed using healthy endometrial tissue and cultured under oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) conditions for 24 h. The morphological, transcriptomic, protein expression, and signaling pathway changes in the OGD organoids were observed. These findings were validated in both thin endometrial tissue and healthy endometrial tissue samples., Participants/materials, Setting, Methods: Endometrial thickness and blood flow were measured during the late follicular phase using transvaginal Doppler ultrasound. Endometrial tissue was obtained via hysteroscopy. Fresh endometrial tissues were used for the generation and culture of human endometrial organoids. Organoids were cultured in an appropriate medium and subjected to OGD to simulate ischemic conditions. Apoptosis and cell death were assessed using Annexin-V/propidium iodide staining. Immunofluorescence analysis, RNA sequencing, western blotting, simple westerns, immunohistochemistry, and electron microscopy were conducted to evaluate cellular and molecular changes., Main Results and the Role of Chance: Patients with thin endometrium showed significantly reduced endometrial thickness and altered blood flow patterns compared to those with healthy endometrium. Immunohistochemical staining revealed fewer CD34-positive blood vessels and glands in the thin endometrium group. Organoids cultured under OGD conditions exhibited significant morphological changes, increased apoptosis, and cell death. RNA-seq identified differentially expressed genes related to cytoskeletal remodeling and stress responses. OGD induced a strong cytoskeletal reorganization, mediated by the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway. Additionally, electron microscopy indicated compromised epithelial integrity and abnormal cell junctions in thin endometrial tissues. Carbamate is a key structural motif in the development of fungicidal compounds, which is still promising and robust in the discovery of green pesticides. Herein, we report the synthesis and evaluation of the fungicidal activity of 35 carbamate derivatives, among which 19 compounds were synthesized in our previous report. These derivatives were synthesized from aromatic amides in a single step, which was a green oxidation process for Hofmann rearrangement using oxone, KCl and NaOH. Their chemical structures were characterized by 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR and high-resolution mass spectrometry. Their antifungal activity was tested against seven plant fungal pathogens. Many of the compounds exhibited good antifungal activity in vitro (inhibitory rate > 60% at 50 μg/mL). Compound 1ag exhibited excellent broad-spectrum antifungal activities with inhibition rates close to or higher than 70% at 50 μg/mL. Notably, compound 1af demonstrated the most potent inhibition against F. graminearum , with an EC 50 value of 12.50 μg/mL, while compound 1z was the most promising candidate fungicide against F. oxysporum (EC 50 = 16.65 μg/mL). The structure-activity relationships are also discussed in this paper. These results suggest that the N -aryl carbamate derivatives secured by our green protocol warrant further investigation as potential lead compounds for novel antifungal agents.

Selenium (Se) is physiologically essential for thyroid function. However, epidemiological studies on the association between Se status and thyroid function are limited and the results are inconsistent. Therefore, we explored this association in an elderly Chinese population sample. Participants in the cross-sectional study were people aged 65 years or older who provided fingernail and whole blood samples. Hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism were defined by serum thyroid hormones concentrations, including thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), total triiodothyronine (TT3), total thyroxine (TT4), free thyroxine (FT3), and free thyrotropin (FT4). Significant positive association was observed between whole blood and fingernail Se concentrations (r = 0.672, P < 0.001). Compared with the lowest Se quartile (Q1), the other fingernail Se quartile groups had lower TSH, higher FT3 and FT4 levels, and Q2 had higher TT3 levels after adjusting for covariates; the other whole blood Se quartile groups had lower TSH levels, Q2 had higher FT3, FT4 and TT3 levels, Q3 had higher FT3 levels, and Q4 had higher FT4 levels after adjusting for covariates. Compared with Q1, the adjusted odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) of hypothyroidism for Q4 of whole blood Se was 0.141 (0.029,0.675), and the adjusted OR (95%CIs) of hyperthyroidism for Q2 and Q3 of fingernail Se were 4.121 (1.233,13.733) and 3.614 (1.095,11.926). Higher Se levels were significantly associated with lower TSH levels and higher levels of TT3, FT3 and FT4. Purpose: Food preference is an important factor that affects one's eating behavior and dietary intake. Parent food preferences and food choices may influence children food preferences. This study is aimed to describe gender differences and time trends of Chinese adolescent food preferences and to explore the association between adolescent and their parent food preferences., Methods: The data were drawn from four waves of the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) conducted between 2006 and 2015. Participants were asked to indicate their degree of preferences for five food categories (fast food, salty snack food, fruits, vegetables, and soft/sugary drinks) using a 5-point Likert scale (from "dislike very much" to "like very much"). Logistic regression was performed to determine the association of food preferences between adolescents and their parents., Results: Adolescent preferences for unhealthy foods were significantly higher than those of adults. Adolescent food preferences for fruits and vegetables decreased slightly over nine years, and there were gender differences in healthy food preferences (girls > boys, P < 0.05). Regardless of boys or girls, adolescent food preferences for healthy foods (fruits and vegetables) were significantly associated with both their fathers (OR: 3.64-4.58 for boys and 2.71-4.39 for girls) and mothers (OR: 2.13-4.11 for boys and 3.07-5.66 for girls) food preferences. For fast food and salty snack food preferences, boys appeared to be influenced greater by their fathers than girls, while girls appeared to be influenced greater by their mothers than boys., Conclusions: The present study reveals a high degree of unhealthy food preferences among Chinese adolescents and a gender-specific association of fast food and salty snack preference between Chinese adolescents and their parents. Ovarian cancer (OvCa) is characterized by early metastasis and high mortality rates, underscoring the need for deeper understanding of these aspects. This study explores the role of glucose transporter 3 (GLUT3) driven by zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) in OvCa progression and metastasis. Specifically, this study explored whether ZEB1 promotes glycolysis and assessed the potential involvement of GLUT3 in this process in OvCa cells. Our findings revealed that ZEB1 and GLUT3 were excessively expressed and closely correlated in OvCa. Mechanistically, ZEB1 activates the transcription of GLUT3 by binding to its promoter region. Increased expression of GLUT3 driven by ZEB1 dramatically enhances glycolysis, and thus fuels Warburg Effect to promote OvCa progression and metastasis. Consistently, elevated ZEB1 and GLUT3 expression in clinical OvCa is correlated with poor prognosis, reinforcing the profound contribution of ZEB1-GLUT3 axis to OvCa. Introduction: Family Treatment Courts (FTCs) serve child welfare-involved parents with substance use issues who are working toward recovery and reunification with their children. Research has linked FTCs to successful outcomes such as treatment access and completion and family reunification, but there has been less attention to factors that hinder and facilitate program implementation and client engagement. Moreover, little is known about how the shift to virtual services during the COVID-19 pandemic impacted FTC programs and the families they serve., Methods: This study examined interview data gathered from staff in six FTCs located in different regions of the country to investigate the impact of the pandemic on programs and the clients they serve. Interviews conducted with clients from one FTC in the Midwest reinforce the data., Results: FTC programs and professionals adjusted to the pandemic by attempting to replicate face-to-face services in an online environment. Virtual services were vital for sustaining FTCs and mitigating barriers to client engagement during the pandemic. Purpose: To discover the biological function and potential mechanism of LINC01936 in the development of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC)., Methods: Transcriptome data of LUSC from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases were used to analyze the differentially expressed lncRNAs in LUSC and normal tissues by R "DEseq2", "edgeR" and "limma" packages. The subcellular localization of LINC01936 was predicted by lncLocator. Cell proliferation and apoptosis were measured by CCK-8, MTT assay and Hoechst fluorescence staining. The migration and invasion were detected by Transwell assay. The function and pathway enrichment analysis were performed by Gene Ontology (GO) terms, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis and gene set variation analysis (GSVA). The downstream targets of LINC01936 were predicted using RNA-Protein Interaction Prediction (RPISeq) program. The effect of LINC01936 on tumor immune infiltration was analyzed using Pearson Correlation Analysis using R "ggpubr" package., Results: Based on the gene expression data of LUSC from TCGA database, 1,603, 1,702 and 529 upregulated and 536, 436 and 630 downregulated lncRNAs were obtained by DEseq2, edgeR and limma programs, respectively. For GSE88862 dataset, we acquired 341 differentially expressed lncRNAs (206 upregulated and 135 downregulated). Venn plot for the intersection of above differential expressed lncRNAs showed that there were 29 upregulated and 23 downregulated genes. LINC01936 was one of downregulated lncRNAs in LUSC tissues. The biological analysis showed that the overexpression of LINC01936 significantly reduced proliferation, migration and invasion of LUSC cells, and promoted cell apoptosis. The knockdown of LINC01936 promoted cell proliferation and metastasis. Pathway and GSVA analysis indicated that LINC01936 might participated in DNA repair, complement, cell adhesion and EMT, etc . LINC01936 was predicted to interact with TCF21, AOC3, RASL12, MEOX2 or HSPB7, which are involved in EMT and PI3K-AKT-MTOR pathway, etc . The expression of LINC01936 was also positively correlated with the infiltrating immune cells in LUSC., Conclusions: LINC01936 is downregulated in LUSC. Objective: Syncytiotrophoblasts form via mononuclear cytotrophoblast fusion during placentation and play a critical role in maternal-fetal communication. Impaired syncytialization inevitably leads to pregnancy-associated complications, including preeclampsia. Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) is reportedly linked with preeclampsia, but little is known about its association with syncytialization. High temperature requirement factor A4 (HtrA4), a placental-specific protease, is responsible for protein quality control and placental syncytialization. This study aimed to investigate the relationship among HtrA4, ERS, and trophoblast syncytialization in the development of early-onset preeclampsia (EO-PE)., Methods: HtrA4 expression and ERS in preeclamptic placentas and control placentas were analyzed by Western blotting and qRT-PCR. HtrA4 and ERS localization in placentas was determined by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. BeWo cells were used to stimulate the effects of HtrA4 and ERS on syncytialization., Results: HtrA4 expression was upregulated in EO-PE and positively correlated with ERS. HtrA4 activity was increased in preeclampsia. Under normoxia, HtrA4 overexpression in BeWo cells did not alter the ERS level. In addition, treatment with hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) or an ERS inducer increased HtrA4 expression. HtrA4 upregulation suppressed the levels of syncytin-2 and β-HCG in the presence of forskolin (FSK), and this change was exaggerated after ERS activation. In addition, treatment with an ERS inhibitor markedly suppressed FSK-treated cell fusion in a manner related to downregulation of HtrA4 expression., Conclusion: Our results suggest that ERS enables syncytialization of placental development by upregulating HtrA4, but that excessive HtrA4 expression and preexisting ERS impair syncytialization and cause EO-PE., (Copyright © 2023 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. Background: Family Treatment Courts have been linked to promising effects on key child welfare outcomes, though few rigorous program evaluations have been conducted., Objective: This study employs a robust quasi-experimental design to evaluate effects associated with Family Treatment Court participation on child permanency and safety., Participants and Setting: The sample included 648 eligible adults who were referred to a Family Treatment Court in a Midwest metropolitan area, including 266 program participants and 382 non-participants., Methods: Propensity score weighting was applied to match program and comparison groups on demographic and case characteristics. Child welfare records yielded safety and permanency outcomes. Participants and non-participants were compared following an intent-to-treat principle, with logistic regressions used to test the odds of reunification and maltreatment recurrence, and Kaplan-Meier analyses used to explore time to reunification and permanency. Moderation tests were performed to analyze differences in program impact across racial/ethnic groups and substance use types., Results: Compared to non-participants, program participants were 81 % more likely to reunify. Group differences in time to reunification and permanency were mixed, and there was no evidence of program impact on maltreatment recurrence. Substance use type and race/ethnicity did not moderate associations between program participation and study outcomes., Conclusions: Mounting evidence suggests that Family Treatment Courts are more effective than usual services in promoting family reunification, though it is unclear if these interventions hasten reunification or increase safety post-reunification. Domain Adaptive Few-Shot Learning (DA-FSL) aims at accomplishing few-shot classification tasks on a novel domain with the aid of a large number of source-style samples and several target-style samples. It is essential for DA-FSL to transfer task knowledge from the source domain to the target domain and overcome the asymmetry amount of labeled data in both domains. To this end, we propose Dual Distillation Discriminator Networks (D 3 Net) from the perspective of the lack of labeled target domain style samples in DA-FSL. Specifically, we employ the idea of distillation discrimination to avoid the over-fitting caused by the unequal number of samples in the target and source domains, which trains the student discriminator by the soft labels from the teacher discriminator. Meanwhile, we design the task propagation stage and the mixed domain stage respectively from the level of feature space and instances to generate more target-style samples, which apply the task distributions and the sample diversity of the source domain to enhance the target domain. Our D 3 Net realizes the distribution alignment between the source domain and the target domain and constraints the FSL task distribution by prototype distributions on the mixed domain. Developing novel photocatalysts with an intimate interface and sufficient contact is significant for the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers. In this work, a novel Co@NC/ZnIn 2 S 4 heterojunction with a strong Co-S chemical bond was formed at the interface between Co@NC and ZnIn 2 S 4 , which accelerated charge separation. Meanwhile, the recombination of the electron-hole pairs was further restricted by the Co@NC/ZnIn 2 S 4 Schottky junction. The Co@NC (5 wt%)/ZnIn 2 S 4 composite exhibited an H 2 evolution rate of 33.3 μmol h -1 , which is 6.1 times higher than that of the pristine ZnIn 2 S 4 , and Co@NC/ZnIn 2 S 4 showed excellent stability in the photocatalytic water splitting reaction. Its apparent quantum yield reached 38% at 420 nm. Furthermore, the Kelvin probe test results showed that the interfacial electric field formed as the driving force for interface charge transfer was oriented from Co@NC to ZnIn 2 S 4 . In addition, the Co-S bond as a high-speed channel facilitated the interfacial electron transfer. This work reveals that in situ formed chemical bonds will pave the way for designing high-efficiency heterojunction photocatalysts.

Introduction: COVID-related work changes have seriously disrupted employees' familiar routines and hampered their lives and work. Although this topic has drawn rising attention, to our knowledge, limited studies have investigated the impact of COVID-related work changes on employees' mentality and behavior. In this paper, we developed a moderated mediation model based on ego depletion theory to test how and when COVID-related work changes impact employees' mental health, interpersonal conflict, and aggression behavior., Methods: We collected 536 valid participants by conducting a questionnaire survey in a large Chinese manufacturing company, and tested our proposed theoretical model and hypotheses using SPSS 26.0 and Mplus 8.1., Results: The empirical results showed that COVID-related work changes would harm employees' mental health and boost their interpersonal conflict and aggression via increasing their ego depletion. Due to their explicit structure, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been supposed to be credible platforms to research the micro-mechanism of heterogeneous photocatalysis. In this study, amino-functionalized MOFs (MIL-125(Ti)-NH 2 (denoted as MTi), UiO-66(Zr)-NH 2 (denoted as UZr) and MIL-68(In)-NH 2 (denoted as MIn)) with three different metal centers were synthesized and applied for the denitrification of simulated fuels under visible light irradiation, during which pyridine was used as a typical nitrogen-containing compound. The results showed that MTi had the best activity among the above three MOFs, and the denitrogenation rate increased to 80% after 4 h of visible light irradiation. On the grounds of the theoretical calculation of pyridine adsorption and actual activity experiments, it can be presumed that the unsaturated Ti 4+ metal centers should be the key active sites. Meanwhile, the XPS and in situ infrared results verified that the coordinatively unsaturated Ti 4+ sites facilitate the activation of pyridine molecules through the surface -N⋯Ti- coordination species. The coordination-photocatalysis synergism promotes the efficiency of photocatalytic performance and the corresponding mechanism is proposed.

Knowledge of the photocatalytic H 2 -evolution mechanism is of critical importance for water splitting, and for designing active catalysts for a sustainable energy supply. In this study, we prepared plasmon Au-modified K-doped defective graphitic carbon nitride (Au/KCNx) and then applied it in photocatalytic hydrogen-production tests. The hydrogen-production rate of the Au/KCNx photocatalyst (8.85 mmol g -1 h -1 ) was found to be almost 104 times higher than that of Au/g-C 3 N 4 (0.085 mmol g -1 h -1 ), together with an apparent quantum efficiency of 12.8% at 420 nm. It could significantly improve the photocatalytic activities of the Au/KCNx sample, which was attributed to the synergistic effects of the plasmon effect, potassium doping, and nitrogen vacancy. In addition, the Au/KCNx photocatalyst had a large surface area, which was beneficial for photogenerated carrier separation and transfer. The novel strategy proposed here is a potential new method for the development of graphitic carbon nitride photocatalysts with obviously enhanced activities.

Pre-eclampsia (PE) is deemed an ischemia-induced metabolic disorder of the placenta due to defective invasion of trophoblasts during placentation; thus, the driving role of metabolism in PE pathogenesis is largely ignored. Since trophoblasts undergo substantial glycolysis, this study aimed to investigate its function and regulatory mechanism by AMPK in PE development. Metabolomics analysis of PE placentas was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Trophoblast-specific AMPKα1-deficient mouse placentas were generated to assess morphology. A mouse PE model was established by Reduced Uterine Perfusion Pressure, and placental AMPK was modulated by nanoparticle-delivered A769662. Trophoblast glucose uptake was measured by 2-NBDG and 2-deoxy-d-[ 3 H] glucose uptake assays. Cellular metabolism was investigated by the Seahorse assay and GC-MS.PE complicated trophoblasts are associated with AMPK hyperactivation due not to energy deficiency. Thereafter, AMPK activation during placentation exacerbated PE manifestations but alleviated cell death in the placenta. AMPK activation in trophoblasts contributed to GLUT3 translocation and subsequent glucose metabolism, which were redirected into gluconeogenesis, resulting in deposition of glycogen and accumulation of phosphoenolpyruvate; the latter enhanced viability but compromised trophoblast invasion. However, ablation of AMPK in the mouse placenta resulted in decreased glycogen deposition and structural malformation. Few-shot Class-Incremental Learning (FSCIL) aims at learning new concepts continually with only a few samples, which is prone to suffer the catastrophic forgetting and overfitting problems. The inaccessibility of old classes and the scarcity of the novel samples make it formidable to realize the trade-off between retaining old knowledge and learning novel concepts. Inspired by that different models memorize different knowledge when learning novel concepts, we propose a Memorizing Complementation Network (MCNet) to ensemble multiple models that complements the different memorized knowledge with each other in novel tasks. Additionally, to update the model with few novel samples, we develop a Prototype Smoothing Hard-mining Triplet (PSHT) loss to push the novel samples away from not only each other in current task but also the old distribution. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets, e.g., CIFAR100, miniImageNet and CUB200, have demonstrated the superiority of our proposed method.

Introduction: In recent years, environmental problems such as global warming, rising sea levels, and species extinction have provoked a widespread concern all over the world, and many countries and international organizations have called for a reduction in carbon emissions. Theoretically, although many scholars have explored how responsible leadership influences subordinates' work-related outcomes, little studies have examined the association between responsible leadership and employees' low-carbon behavior. Therefore, to address this literature gap, we here drawing upon social cognitive theory developed a dual-mediation model to investigate how responsible leadership impacts employees' low-carbon behavior, and through which mechanisms this impact may occur., Methods: By conducting a questionnaire survey in a company in China, we collected the valid data from 411 samples. Then using SPSS 26.0 and Mplus 8.1, we tested our proposed theoretical model and hypotheses by analyzing these data., Results: The empirical results showed that responsible leadership was positively related to employees' environmental consciousness, which can further increase their low-carbon behavior. At the same time, responsible leadership was negatively related to employees' environmental apathy, which can reduce their low-carbon behavior. And employees' environmental consciousness and environmental apathy played the mediating roles in the relationship between responsible leadership and employees' low-carbon behavior. Furthermore, we found that leader-member exchange (LMX) magnified the direct effect of responsible leadership on employees' environmental apathy and strengthened the indirect effect of responsible leadership on employees' low-carbon behavior via environmental apathy, but the moderating effect of LMX on another path was not significant., Discussion: These findings suggest that despite encouraging leaders to show responsible behaviors, promoting employees' environmental consciousness and reducing their environmental apathy may be useful ways to facilitating their low-carbon behavior and achieving a low-carbon society. Objective: Invasive pituitary adenomas (IPAs) are common tumors of the nervous system tumors for which invasive growth can lead to difficult total resection and a high recurrence rate. The basement membrane (BM) is a special type of extracellular matrix and plays an important role in the invasion of pituitary adenomas (PAs). The aim of this study was to develop a risk model for predicting the invasiveness of PAs by analyzing the correlation between the expression of BM genes and immune infiltration., Methods: Four datasets, featuring samples IPAs and non-invasive pituitary adenomas (NIPAs), were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database (GEO). R software was then used to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and analyze their functional enrichment. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was used to screen BM genes, which were analyzed for immune infiltration; this led to the generation of a risk model based on the correlation between the expression of BM genes and immunity. A calibration curve and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve were used to evaluate and validate the model. Subsequently, the differential expression levels of BM genes between IPA and NIPA samples collected in surgery were verified by Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) and the prediction model was further evaluated. Finally, based on our analysis, we recommend potential drug targets for the treatment of IPAs., Results: The merged dataset identified 248 DEGs that were mainly enriching in signal transduction, the extracellular matrix and channel activity. The PPI network identified 11 BM genes from the DEGs: SPARCL1, GPC3, LAMA1, SDC4, GPC4, ADAMTS8, LAMA2, LAMC3, SMOC1, LUM and THBS2 . Based on the complex correlation between these 11 genes and immune infiltration, a risk model was established to predict PAs invasiveness. Calibration curve and ROC curve analysis (area under the curve [AUC]: 0.7886194) confirmed the good predictive ability of the model. The consistency between the qPCR results and the bioinformatics results confirmed the reliability of data mining., Conclusion: Using a variety of bioinformatics methods, we developed a novel risk model to predict the probability of PAs invasion based on the correlation between 11 BM genes and immune infiltration. New surface coordination photocatalytic systems that are inspired by natural photosynthesis have significant potential to boost fuel denitrification. Despite this, the direct synthesis of efficient surface coordination photocatalysts remains a major challenge. Herein, it is verified that a coordination photocatalyst can be constructed by coupling Pd and CTAB-modified ZnIn 2 S 4 semiconductors. The optimized Pd/ZnIn 2 S 4 showed a superior degradation rate of 81% for fuel denitrification within 240 min, which was 2.25 times higher than that of ZnIn 2 S 4 . From the in situ FTIR and XPS spectra of 1% Pd/ZnIn 2 S 4 before and after pyridine adsorption, we find that pyridine can be selectively adsorbed and form Zn⋅⋅⋅C-N or In⋅⋅⋅C-N on the surface of Pd/ZnIn 2 S 4 . Meanwhile, the superior electrical conductivity of Pd can be combined with ZnIn 2 S 4 to promote photocatalytic denitrification. This work also explains the surface/interface coordination effect of metal/nanosheets at the molecular level, playing an important role in photocatalytic fuel denitrification.

The enhancement of photogenerated carrier separation efficiency is a significant factor in the improvement of photocatalyst performance in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Heteroatom doping and defect construction have been considered valid methods to boost the photocatalytic activity of graphitic carbon nitride. Herein, we report graphitic carbon nitride modified with P doping and N defects (PCN x ), and the effects of doping and defects were investigated in photocatalytic H 2 evolution. Its hydrogen evolution rate can reach up to about 59.1 μmol h -1 , which is more than 123.1 times higher than pristine graphitic carbon nitride under visible light irradiation. Importantly, the apparent quantum efficiency reaches 8.73% at 420 nm. The excellent performance of the PCN x photocatalyst was attributed to the following aspects: (I) the large BET surface area of PCN x affords more active sites for H 2 production and (II) the introduction of P and N defects can accelerate the charge carrier separation and transfer efficiency, leading to more efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production. The photocatalyst showed obviously enhanced activities.

Few-shot learning (FSL) for human-object interaction (HOI) aims at recognizing various relationships between human actions and surrounding objects only from a few samples. It is a challenging vision task, in which the diversity and interactivity of human actions result in great difficulty to learn an adaptive classifier to catch ambiguous interclass information. Therefore, traditional FSL methods usually perform unsatisfactorily in complex HOI scenes. To this end, we propose dynamic graph-in-graph networks (DGIG-Net), a novel graph prototypes framework to learn a dynamic metric space by embedding a visual subgraph to a task-oriented cross-modal graph for few-shot HOI. Specifically, we first build a knowledge reconstruction graph to learn latent representations for HOI categories by reconstructing the relationship among visual features, which generates visual representations under the category distribution of every task. Then, a dynamic relation graph integrates both reconstructible visual nodes and dynamic task-oriented semantic information to explore a graph metric space for HOI class prototypes, which applies the discriminative information from the similarities among actions or objects. We validate DGIG-Net on multiple benchmark datasets, on which it largely outperforms existing FSL approaches and achieves state-of-the-art results.

Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread worldwide. The safety of breastfeeding of SARS-CoV-2-positive women has not yet reached a consensus among the scientific community, healthcare providers, experts in lactation care, health organizations and governments. This study was conducted to summarize the latest evidence about the safety of breastfeeding among suspected/confirmed infected mothers and to summarize the recommendations on breastfeeding during COVID-19 from different organizations., Methods: A comprehensive literature review of publications about the safety of breastfeeding among SARS-CoV-2-infected mothers was conducted. Scientific databases were searched up to 26 May 2021. The evidence was summarized into five perspectives according to a framework proposed by van de Perre et al. with certain modifications. Moreover, websites of different health organizations were visited to gather the recommendations for breastfeeding., Results: The current evidence demonstrated that the majority of infants breastfed by infected mothers were negative for SARS-CoV-2. Breast milk samples from suspected/infected mothers mainly demonstrated negative results in SARS-CoV-2 viral tests. There was insufficient evidence proving the infectivity of breast milk from infected mothers. Recent studies found other transmission modalities (e.g., milk containers, skin) associated with breastfeeding. Specific antibodies in the breast milk of infected mothers were also found, implying protective effects for their breastfed children. According to van de Perre's criteria, the breast milk of infected mothers was unlikely to transmit SARS-CoV-2. Owing to the low quality of the current evidence, studies with a more robust design are needed to strengthen the conclusion regarding the safety of breastfeeding. Further studies to follow up the health status of infants who were directly breastfed by their suspected/infected mothers, to collect breast milk samples at multiple time points for viral tests and to examine specific antibodies in breast milk samples are warranted. Current recommendations on breastfeeding during COVID-19 from different organizations are controversial, while direct breastfeeding with contact precautions is generally suggested as the first choice for infected mothers., Conclusions: This review determined the safety of breastfeeding and identified the focus for further research during the COVID-19 pandemic. Introduction: Single intrauterine fetal death (sIUFD) in monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twin pregnancy may be associated with adverse clinical outcomes and possible metabolic changes in the surviving co-twin. Metabolomic profiling has not been undertaken before in these complex twin pregnancies. Methods: In this prospectively collected case-control study, three cross-cohort comparisons were made between sIUFD MCDA ( n = 16), uncomplicated MCDA ( n = 16, eight pairs), and uncomplicated singleton pregnancies ( n = 8). To identify major sources of variation within the sIUFD MCDA cohort, a secondary comparison was conducted between spontaneous sIUFD ( n = 8) and sIUFD in MCDA twins due to selective termination of a single abnormal fetus by radiofrequency ablation (RFA) ( n = 8). Metabolomics analysis of placental tissue and umbilical cord plasma was performed using LC-MS profiling. The underlying metabolic networks and pathways were analyzed by web-based platforms. Associations and statistical correlations of all identified differential metabolites with neonatal birthweight and birth length were assessed by multivariable linear regression, adjusted for maternal age and gestation. Results: Across four comparisons, 131 and 111 differential metabolites were identified in placental tissue and cord plasma, respectively, with the highest variation seen between the spontaneous vs. single-induced IUFD in MCDA twins by RFA in the cord plasma. Conversely, the number of viable fetuses and the presence of sIUFD in MCDA twins had the highest impact on metabolite variation in placental tissue. Compounds correlated with fetal growth including placental acylcarnitines and gangliosides, along with specific amino acids (e.g., histidinyl-hydroxyproline), xenobiotics and biliverdin in cord plasma. Conclusion: sIUFD in MCDA twin pregnancy correlates with distinctive metabolic signatures, mostly in fatty acyls and complex lipids, in placental tissue and cord plasma of the surviving cotwin. High consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPF) increases the risks of non-communicable diseases and all-cause mortality in adulthood, and the risk of early childhood caries. Limited evidence about factors influencing children's consumption of UPF exists. This study was conducted to assess the prevalence of UPF consumption among children less than three years of age, and identify its associations with caregivers' emotional and instrumental feeding, and children's emotional eating. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China. Caregivers caring for children aged 6-36 months ( n = 408) were recruited. Caregivers' emotional and instrumental feeding practices and children's emotional eating were assessed by the Parents' Feeding Practices Scale for Infant and Young Child and Children's Eating Behaviour Questionnaire, respectively. Children's UPF consumption was assessed by a validated Food Frequency Questionnaire. Of the children, 86.8% consumed UPF. The highest percentage of UPF consumed was pastries (63.5%), followed by solid or semi-solid dairy products (58.8%), and reconstituted meat products (56.4%). Caregivers' emotional and instrumental feeding was positively associated with children's consumption of UPF (OR = 1.59, 95%CI: 1.01, 2.49), a higher frequency of UPF consumption weekly (OR = 1.80, 95%CI: 1.35, 2.39), and a larger amount of UPF consumption weekly (OR = 1.85, 95% CI: 1.38, 2.49). Children's higher frequency of emotional undereating was associated with their UPF consumption (OR = 1.61, 95%CI: 1.07, 2.42) and a higher frequency of UPF consumption weekly (OR = 1.33, 95%CI: 1.03, 1.73). Children's emotional undereating significantly mediated the associations between caregivers' emotional and instrumental feeding and children's consumption of reconstituted meat products. Caregivers should be educated to avoid emotional and instrumental feeding practices, and cultivate children's good eating habits to improve children's diet quality.

Purpose: The purpose is to accurately identify women at high risk of developing cervical cancer so as to optimize cervical screening strategies and make better use of medical resources. However, the predictive models currently in use require clinical physiological and biochemical indicators, resulting in a smaller scope of application. Stacking-integrated machine learning (SIML) is an advanced machine learning technique that combined multiple learning algorithms to improve predictive performance. This study aimed to develop a stacking-integrated model that can be used to identify women at high risk of developing cervical cancer based on their demographic, behavioral, and historical clinical factors., Methods: The data of 858 women screened for cervical cancer at a Venezuelan Hospital were used to develop the SIML algorithm. The screening data were randomly split into training data (80%) that were used to develop the algorithm and testing data (20%) that were used to validate the accuracy of the algorithms. The random forest (RF) model and univariate logistic regression were used to identify predictive features for developing cervical cancer. Twelve well-known ML algorithms were selected, and their performances in predicting cervical cancer were compared. A correlation coefficient matrix was used to cluster the models based on their performance. The SIML was then developed using the best-performing techniques. The sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC) of all models were calculated., Results: The RF model identified 18 features predictive of developing cervical cancer. The use of hormonal contraceptives was considered as the most important risk factor, followed by the number of pregnancies, years of smoking, and the number of sexual partners. The SIML algorithm had the best overall performance when compared with other methods and reached an AUC, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.877, 81.8%, and 81.9%, respectively., Conclusion: This study shows that SIML can be used to accurately identify women at high risk of developing cervical cancer. Incomplete spiral artery remodeling, caused by impaired extravillous trophoblast invasion, is a fundamental pathogenic process associated with malplacentation and the development of preeclampsia. Nevertheless, the mechanisms controlling this regulation of trophoblast invasion are largely unknown. We report that sphingosine-1-phosphate synthesis and expression is abundant in healthy trophoblast, whereas in pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia the placentae are associated with reduced sphingosine-1-phosphate and lower SPHK1 (sphingosine kinase 1) expression and activity. In vivo inhibition of sphingosine kinase 1 activity during placentation in pregnant mice led to decreased placental sphingosine-1-phosphate production and defective placentation, resulting in a preeclampsia phenotype. Moreover, sphingosine-1-phosphate increased HTR8/SVneo (immortalized human trophoblst cells) cell invasion in a Hippo-signaling-dependent transcriptional coactivator YAP (Yes-associated protein) dependent manner, which is activated by S1PR2 (sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor-2) and downstream RhoA (Ras homolog gene family, member A)/ROCK (Rho-associated protein kinase) induced actin polymerization. Mutation-based YAP-5SA (S61A, S109A, S127A, S164A, S381A) demonstrated that sphingosine-1-phosphate activation of YAP could be either dependent or independent of Hippo signaling. Together, these findings suggest a novel pathogenic pathway of preeclampsia via disrupted sphingosine-1-phosphate metabolism and signaling-induced, interrupted actin dynamics and YAP deactivation; this may lead to potential novel intervention targets for the prevention and management of preeclampsia.

Semantic information provides intra-class consistency and inter-class discriminability beyond visual concepts, which has been employed in Few-Shot Learning (FSL) to achieve further gains. However, semantic information is only available for labeled samples but absent for unlabeled samples, in which the embeddings are rectified unilaterally by guiding the few labeled samples with semantics. Therefore, it is inevitable to bring a cross-modal bias between semantic-guided samples and nonsemantic-guided samples, which results in an information asymmetry problem. To address this problem, we propose a Modal-Alternating Propagation Network (MAP-Net) to supplement the absent semantic information of unlabeled samples, which builds information symmetry among all samples in both visual and semantic modalities. Specifically, the MAP-Net transfers the neighbor information by the graph propagation to generate the pseudo-semantics for unlabeled samples guided by the completed visual relationships and rectify the feature embeddings. In addition, due to the large discrepancy between visual and semantic modalities, we design a Relation Guidance (RG) strategy to guide the visual relation vectors via semantics so that the propagated information is more beneficial. Extensive experimental results on three semantic-labeled datasets, i.e., Caltech-UCSD-Birds 200-2011, SUN Attribute Database and Oxford 102 Flower, have demonstrated that our proposed method achieves promising performance and outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches, which indicates the necessity of information symmetry.

Nanostructure CeO 2 powders were synthesized using tea waste extract as gel precursor. The as-prepared samples were characterized by thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Raman spectroscopy. Based on the TGA/DTG analysis, the intermediates of cerium chloride hydrates (CeCl 3 .4H 2 O and CeCl 3 .H 2 O) and cerium anhydrous (CeCl 3 ) were produced, and the formation temperature of CeO 2 was estimated to be 773 K. The cubic fluorite structure of CeO 2 was detected to be the predominant species and was completely formed at the calcination temperature of 773K-1073 K with a crystal size between 8.8 and 11.4 nm based on the XRD measurement. Moreover, the main chemical state of ceria on the surface of the synthesized samples was confirmed to be tetravalent ceria by XPS. All samples show a strong Raman signal at a well-defined chemical shift of 463 cm -1 and a significant symmetry feature was observed, suggesting that the tetravalent ceria is the dominant species throughout the bulk sample. All the synthesized CeO 2 calcined at different temperatures showed higher adsorption efficiency for Congo red (CR) compared with commercial CeO 2 . The adsorption efficiency maintained a steady state of more than 95% when the concentration of CR and adsorption temperature were varied in this study. The kinetic analysis showed that the second-order model was the appropriate model to interpret the adsorption behavior of synthesized CeO 2 . The calculated adsorption capacity derived from the second-order model is in good agreement with the experimental data. The isotherm analysis revealed that the Freundlich and D-R models fit well for the synthesized CeO 2 and represent physisorption with a multilayer mechanism. Background: Since the effectiveness of low-dose aspirin (LDA) in twin pregnancies is uncertain, we aimed to preliminarily assess whether LDA is beneficial in preventing preeclampsia in twin pregnancies., Methods: This study is an observational study in two hospitals in China. Among 932 women, 277 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were routinely treated with aspirin (100 mg daily) from 12 to 16 weeks to 35 weeks of gestational age, while 655 in Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children were not taking aspirin during pregnancy. We followed each subject and the individual details were recorded., Results: LDA significantly reduced the risk of preeclampsia (RR 0.48; 95% CI 0.24-0.95) and preterm birth 34 weeks (RR 0.50; 95% CI 0.29-0.86) and showed possible benefits to lower the rate of SGA babies (RR 0.74; 95% CI 0.55-1.00). AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is an important regulator of glucose metabolism, and glucose transporter 3 (GLUT3) is an efficient glucose transporter in trophoblasts. Whether placental AMPK and GLUT3 respond accordingly to gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains uncertain. Here, we explored the regulatory role of AMPK in the GLUT3-dependent uptake of glucose by placental trophoblasts and the viability of the cells. In this study, the level of glycolysis in normal and GDM-complicated placentas was assessed by LC-MS/MS. The trophoblast hyperglycemia model was induced by the incubation of HTR8/SVneo cells with a high glucose concentration. GDM animal models were generated with db/ + mice and C57BL/6J mice fed a high-fat diet, and AMPK was manipulated by the oral administration of metformin. The uptake of glucose by trophoblasts was assessed using 2-NBDG or 2-deoxy-D-[ 3 H] glucose. The results showed that GDM is associated with impaired glycolysis, AMPK activity, GLUT3 expression in the plasma membrane (PM) and cell survival in the placenta. Hyperglycemia induced similar changes in trophoblasts, and these changes were rescued by AMPK activation. Both hyperglycemic db/ + and high-fat diet-induced GDM mice exhibited a compromised AMPK-GLUT3 axis and suppressed cell viability in the placenta as well as excessive fetal growth, and all of these effects were partially alleviated by metformin. Taken together, our findings support the notion that AMPK activation upregulates trophoblast glucose uptake by stimulating GLUT3 translocation, which is beneficial for viability. Background: Health benefits of fruit and vegetable have been well recognized. However, insufficient consumption of fruit and vegetable is prevalent among toddlers, and has become a global public health issue. Maternal feeding practices are potential factors influencing toddlers' dietary intake, including fruit and vegetable intake. This study was conducted to explore the influence of maternal feeding practices on toddlers' fruit and vegetable consumption in Ireland., Methods: A follow-up to the DIT-Coombe Hospital birth cohort was conducted. Mothers in the original cohort were invited to participate in the present follow-up study by phone. A questionnaire assessing maternal feeding behavior and the child's 3-day food diary was sent to mothers who agreed to take part in the present study by post, together with a self-addressed stamped envelope., Results: There were 193 mother-children pairs included in the analysis, and the mean age of children was 2.4 (SD 0.7) years old. Toddlers' mean daily intakes of vegetable and fruit were 67.57 (SD 45.95) g and 213.35 (SD 170.78) g, respectively. Logistic regression analyses showed that maternal practice of breastfeeding for more than 4 weeks was positively associated with fruit (OR = 2.93, 95% CI: 1.29-6.64) and vegetable (OR = 1.95, 95% CI: 1.00-3.81) intake or the contribution of fruit (OR = 2.62, 95% CI: 1.19-5.80) and vegetable (OR = 2.02, 95% CI: 1.02-3.99) to the total diet. Letting the child eat with other family members was associated with high vegetable intake (OR = 5.45, 95%CI: 1.69-17.61) and high contribution of vegetable to total diet (OR = 3.78, 95% CI: 1.04-13.82). Not being too worried about the child's refusal to eat was positively associated with toddlers' vegetable intake (OR = 2.10, 95%CI: 1.09-4.05)., Conclusions: To increase children's fruit and vegetable intake, and develop good eating habits, parents should eat with their toddlers, be patient and not put much pressure on their children in the context of meal feeding., (© 2021. Spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB) is the leading cause of infant morbidity and mortality worldwide. Deficiency of effective predict methods is an urgent problem that needs to be solved. Numbers of researchers spare no efforts to investigate differential indicators. To evaluate the value of the differential indicators, a prospective nested case-control study was carried out. Among an overall cohort of 1,050 pregnancies, 20 sPTB pregnancies, and 20 full-term pregnancies were enrolled in this study. Participants were followed-up until labor. The psychological profile was evaluated utilizing the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale at 11-14 weeks. Stress-related biomarker-cortisol and metabolites were detected by Electrochemiluminescence Immunoassay (ECLIA) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) in serum samples during pregnancy, respectively. The expression level of cortisol was up-regulated in serum and the score of the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale was significantly higher in the sPTB group when compared to the control group. Note that, 29 metabolomics were differentially expressed between the sPTB group and the control group. The scores of the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale, the level of cortisol, Eicosane, methyltetradecanoate, and stearic acid in serum were selected to establish the model with lasso logistic regression. Validation of the model yielded an optimum corrected AUC value of 89.5%, 95% CI: 0.8006-0.9889 with a sensitivity of 100.0%, and specificity of 78.9%. Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common metabolic disturbance during pregnancy and leads to an altered metabolic profile of human breast milk (HBM). The association between HBM metabolites and neonatal growth in GDM pregnancies has not been thoroughly investigated., Aims: The primary aim was to quantify differences in the HBM metabolome between normal and GDM pregnancies. The secondary aim was to identify metabolites associated with neonatal growth during the first year postpartum., Methods: In the present study, mothers intending to exclusively breastfeed (BF) and their newborns (mother-infant pairs) were recruited at delivery (n = 129 normal pregnancies and n = 98 GDM pregnancies). HBM samples (colostrum, transition milk, and mature milk) from mothers with normal pregnancies (n = 50) and GDM pregnancies (n = 50) were subjected to metabolomic profiling via liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis revealed the metabolomic fingerprints of GDM-associated mature HBM. Correlations between metabolites and neonatal body weight gain (BWG) were evaluated by Spearman correlation analysis., Results: In total, 620 metabolites were identified in each HBM sample; 253 compounds had the same variation patterns, whereas 38 compounds had significantly different pattern transitions between the GDM and normal groups. Moreover, 12, 49 and 28 metabolites exhibited significant differences in the 3 milk types between the 2 groups. Twenty-two metabolites were confirmed by ROC analysis as metabolomic fingerprints in the mature BM of GDM patients. Ten compounds were significantly negatively correlated with neonatal growth, and only 2 unsaturated lipids (eicosatrienoic acid (FA 20:3) and lysophosphatidylcholine (LysoPC) (22:6)) were positively correlated with neonatal BWG., Conclusions: GDM is associated with alterations in the HBM metabolome. Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is an umbrella term for a variety of pregnancy complications due to abnormal placental implantation, including placenta accreta, placenta increta and placenta percreta. During the past several decades, the prevalence of PAS has been increasing, and the clinical importance of this disease is significant because of the severe complications. In this review, we summarized the available evidence-based data for PAS in various aspects: prevalence, risk factors, pathogenesis, clinical presentation and prenatal screening, and clinical management. Meanwhile, we provided a series of prospects in each section for further studies on PAS. Background: Excellent response of the primary tumor after neoadjuvant therapy may indicate a better axillary status in breast cancer. However, this treatment response correlation has not been investigated in Chinese breast cancer patients., Methods: Patients diagnosed with breast cancer and treated with neoadjuvant therapy were included in this retrospective study, conducted at a comprehensive breast cancer institution in China. Clinicopathological factors at baseline were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analyses. Furthermore, association rules analyses were used to investigate the correlation between the pathologic response of the primary tumor and that of the axillary lymph nodes based on such factors., Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that breast pathologic response was influenced by tumor size, classification of regional lymph nodes, histological grade, progesterone receptor status, and Ki67 expression. The potential influencing factor for the pathologic response of the axilla was found to be regional lymph node classification. The findings from association rules analyses demonstrated that when a pathologic complete response (pCR) in the breast was achieved among patients with cT 2 N 0 and hormone receptor-negative disease, the axilla response in these patients was also highly likely to be pCR (the likelihood for axilla pCR was more than 90%). However, cT 3 N 1-2 patients hardly achieved pCR for both the primary tumor and axillary lymph nodes (mean confidence, 0.9637). The clinicopathological factors accounting for the inconsistent response between the breast and the axilla were found to be hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative, and low Ki67 expression., Conclusions: Our findings suggest a strong correlation between breast pCR and axilla pCR among patients with specific characteristics. Aims: Although preeclampsia (PE) has been attributed to excessive oxidative stress (OS) in the placenta, mild antioxidants failed to prevent PE in clinical trials. As mitochondria are a major source of OS, this study assessed the potential of a potent mitochondria-targeting antioxidant MitoQ in the prevention of PE. Results: Placentas from women with PE and from reduced uterine perfusion pressure (RUPP) mice demonstrated significantly higher OS, along with increased mitochondrial damage and compromised glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities. MitoQ administration during late gestation alleviated RUPP-induced PE; whereas early-pregnancy MitoQ treatment not only exacerbated blood pressure, fetal growth restriction, and proteinuria but also reduced the labyrinth/spongiotrophoblast ratio and blood sinuses in the labyrinth. Invasion (Matrigel transwell) and migration (wound healing assay) of trophoblasts were greatly improved by 1 μ M hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), but this improvement was abolished by MitoQ or MitoTempo. Mild OS enhanced the expression of miR-29b-3p, which regulates five genes involved in viability and mobility, in HTR8-S/Vneo cells. Innovation and Conclusions: Although the potent mitochondrial-targeting antioxidant MitoQ protects against hypertension and kidney damage induced by RUPP in mice when administered in late gestation, it exacerbates the PE-like phenotype when given in early gestation by interfering with placenta formation because mild OS is required to stimulate trophoblast proliferation, invasion, and migration. Eliminating trophoblastic OS during early pregnancy may lead to compromised placentation and a risk of diseases of placental origin. Therefore, antioxidant therapy for pregnant women should be carefully considered.

Extreme instance imbalance among categories and combinatorial explosion make the recognition of Human-Object Interaction (HOI) a challenging task. Few studies have addressed both challenges directly. Motivated by the success of few-shot learning that learns a robust model from a few instances, we formulate HOI as a few-shot task in a meta-learning framework to alleviate the above challenges. Due to the fact that the intrinsical characteristic of HOI is diverse and interactive, we propose a Semantic-guided Attentive Prototypes Network (SAPNet) framework to learn a semantic-guided metric space where HOI recognition can be performed by computing distances to attentive prototypes of each class. Specifically, the model generates attentive prototypes guided by the category names of actions and objects, which highlight the commonalities of images from the same class in HOI. In addition, we design two alternative prototypes calculation methods, i.e., Prototypes Shift (PS) approach and Hallucinatory Graph Prototypes (HGP) approach, which explore to learn a suitable category prototypes representations in HOI. Finally, in order to realize the task of few-shot HOI, we reorganize 2 HOI benchmark datasets with 2 split strategies, i.e., HICO-NN, TUHOI-NN, HICO-NF, and TUHOI-NF. Extensive experimental results on these datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of our proposed SAPNet approach.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the 3rd epidemic coronavirus after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). Since December 2019, the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 has aroused great attention around the world. Pregnant women and their fetuses have been concerned as a high-risk population. Objectives: This study described the needs of pregnant women and the contents of online obstetric consultation in representative areas with various severity of the epidemic in China., Design: This was a cross- sectional study., Setting: Yue Yi Tong (YYT), a free online communication platform that allows pregnant women to consult professional obstetricians., Participants: All the pregnant women who used the YYT platform., Intervention: From 10 to 23 February, we collected data on online obstetric consultations and participants' satisfaction through the YYT platform in the mild, moderate and severe epidemic areas which were defined according to the local confirmed cases. The primary outcomes were the reasons for online consultations by the severity of the epidemic. All the comparisons were performed using χ 2 test. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS V.24., Results: A total of 2599 pregnant women participated in this study, of whom 448 (17.24%), 1332 (51.25%) and 819 (31.51%) were from the mild, moderate and severe epidemic areas, respectively. The distribution of the amount of online consultations was significantly different not only in different areas (p<0.001) but also in different trimesters (p<0.001). A total of 957 participants completed the satisfaction part of the survey. In this study, 77.95% of the participants used e-health for the first time, and 94.63% of the participants were completely or mostly satisfied with the online consultations., Conclusions: The distribution of the amount of online consultations was significantly different not only in different areas but also in different trimesters. In any trimester, the amount of consultations on the second category (obstetric care-seeking behaviour) was the highest in the severe epidemic areas. The needs for online consultations were substantial. This study was conducted to explore the associations between maternal feeding practices, mealtime emotions, as well as maternal food neophobia and toddlers' food neophobia in Ireland. A follow-up to the Technological University Dublin (DIT)-Coombe Hospital birth cohort was conducted. Mothers in the original cohort were invited to the present study by telephone calls. Postal questionnaires with stamped addressed envelopes were distributed to those who agreed to participate in the study. Toddler food neophobia was assessed by the modified version of the Child Food Neophobia Scale (CFNS). There were 205 participants included in this study, with a median score of child food neophobia of 12. A higher degree of child food neophobia (score > 12) was positively associated with the maternal practice of coaxing the children to eat at refusal (OR (Odds Ratio) = 2.279, 95% CI: 1.048-4.955), unpleasant emotions at mealtime (e.g., stressful or hectic for mothers, or tearful for children) (OR ranged between 1.618 and 1.952), and mothers' own degree of food neophobia (OR = 1.036, 95% CI: 1.001-1.072). Mothers who were not worried when confronted with child's food refusal was negatively associated with toddlers' food neophobia (OR = 0.251, 95% CI: 0.114-0.556). This study suggests the maternal practices of responsive feeding, being calm and patient with the toddlers, and creating a positive atmosphere at mealtime.

In China, the adjustment of the family planning policy was expected to increase the number of births and trigger a change in the demographic and obstetrical background of pregnant women. The policy itself, and corresponding background variations of the pregnant mothers, might have various influences on certain birth-related characteristics. Moreover, the adaption of the medical system to the policy needs to be demonstrated. To address these issues, over 50,000 individual records from January 2012 to December 2018 were collected from a large tertiary care centre of southwest China as a representative. The monthly numbers of deliveries and births showed stabilized patterns after remarkable upward trends. Policy-sensitive women, among whom older age and multiparity were typical features, contributed considerably to the remarkable additional births. Indeed, multivariable logistic regression analysis identified the child policy and these two background characteristics as factors influencing CS (caesarean section) rate and certain pregnancy complications or adverse outcomes. After the implementation of the two-child policy, a care provider was faced with fewer but more difficult cases. Briefly speaking, more individual-based studies on family planning policy and more efforts to improve obstetrical service are needed to better guide clinical practice in the new era.

Background: Since the first report of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in December of 2019, it has become rapidly prevalent and been declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization. There are quite a few cases reported involving delivery with COVID-19 infection, but little valuable suggestion was provided about what healthcare providers of obstetrics and neonatology should do in their clinic practice for unknown status or presumed negative women. Improving the tribological performance of M50 steel under the conditions of wide load range is of great significance. In this study, the interfacial structure of surface micropores filled with Sn-Ag-Cu or Sn-Ag-Cu/whisker carbon nanotubes (whiskerCNT) of M50 material was prepared by laser additive manufacturing and high-temperature infiltration. From 2 to 22 N, the lubrication characteristics of Sn-Ag-Cu and whiskerCNT in surface micropores of M50 was investigated. Results indicate that Sn-Ag-Cu can precipitate to the worn surface and form a lubricating layer, which has a good lubricating effect. Moreover, the flow behavior of Sn-Ag-Cu on a worn surface can play the role of crack healing. At higher load, the strength of the lubricating film is enhanced by whiskerCNT, which renders the lubricating film not vulnerable to premature rupture.

Background: Little is known about the status of maternal, obstetric, and neonatal complications and the potential predictors of developing heart failure (HF) in mothers with underlying heart disease (HD) in Southwestern China., Methods: The eligible records from the YiduCloud database from December 1, 2010 to December 31, 2019 were screened. The maternal clinical characteristics and the in-hospital outcomes were collected and compared in primigravid women with and without HD. The HD subtypes analyzed included valvular HD (VHD), cardiomyopathy, adult congenital HD (ACHD), pulmonary hypertension (PH), and other cardiac conditions., Results: Among 45,067 primigravid women, 508 (1.1%) had HD, in which 207 (41%) had ACHD, 66 (13%) had VHD, 84 (17%) had cardiomyopathy, 7 (1%) had PH, and 144 (28%) had other cardiac diseases. The maternal cardiac events and the neonatal complications occurred in 28% and 23.3%, respectively, of women with HD and were predominant in the PH group. In multivariable regression, HF was associated with the New York Heart Association (NYHA) class ≥3 (OR = 15.9, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 2.5-99.7; P = 0.003), heart rate ≥ 100 bpm (OR = 3.8, 95% CI = 1.1-13.5; P = 0.036), ejection fraction ≤60% (OR = 6.4, 95% CI = 2.0-21.0; P = 0.002) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter ≥ 50 mm (OR = 3.4, 95% CI = 1.1-11.2; P = 0.041) at the beginning of pregnancy., Conclusions: Maternal and neonatal complications are higher in primigravid women with HD particularly in the PH group compared with primigravid women without HD. Women with HD should be guided on the potential predictors for HF and closely monitored during pregnancy to reduce maternal and neonatal complications.

International students may have difficulties in dietary acculturation. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) of diet and health during the acculturation of international students. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among a convenience sample of 473 international students in Dublin. Knowledge, attitude and practices towards diet and health were evaluated by a questionnaire with open- and closed-ended questions. It was found that 45.3% of participants had a broad concept of a healthy diet, while few knew its specific contents. Furthermore, 75.3% of participants could explain the term functional food, and among them, 62.1% knew the appropriate definition of functional food. Participants who perceived their health very good and excellent were more likely to believe that their health status was determined by their own control. The consumption rate of functional food varied among regions and South and Central America students had the highest usage rate (44.5%) and Asian students had the highest daily usage rate (52.7%). Participants who were younger, single, from African and South and Central American countries, or who were in Ireland for less than one year were more likely to report dietary change after immigration. In conclusion, insufficient knowledge and self-perception towards diet and health as well as unhealthily dietary changes exist among international students living in Dublin.
