Patient participation plays a vital role in evidence-based practice (EBP), yet its development in clinical nursing is slow. Current research has focused on identifying barriers to patient participation in everyday care, with less research on barriers to patient participation in EBP. Therefore, a questionnaire containing basic information and open-ended questions was used to explore nursing staff attitudes and barriers to patient participation in EBP. Responses to the open-ended question were analyzed with content analysis. Four roles of patient participation, positive and negative attitudes toward patient participation, and 134 barriers to patient participation in EBP were extracted from 121 nursing staff responses through content analysis. Five categories of barriers were extracted from the 134 barriers to patient participation, including patient, cost-effectiveness of EBP, healthcare staff, organization, and resource. This study found that patients' acceptance and trust in EBP also influenced their participation in the practices. Moreover, nursing staff have little knowledge of engaging patients in EBP. School bullying significantly impacts adolescent physical and mental development. The current study aimed to explore the effect of campus exclusion on school bullying behavior among junior high school students and the role of callous-unemotional traits and family caring. The Campus Exclusion Questionnaire, Olweus Child Bullying Questionnaire, Callous-Unemotional Trait Scale, and Family Caring Scale were completed by 705 students. A moderated mediation model was analyzed using SPSS 24.0. Results indicated that both campus exclusion and callous-unemotional traits positively predicted bullying behavior. Callous-unemotional traits partially mediated the relationship between campus exclusion and bullying behavior. Additionally, family caring moderated the link between callous-unemotional traits and bullying behavior, mitigating adverse effects. The study highlighted family caring's protective role against bullying linked to adverse school experiences. Compressed ultrafast photography (CUP) can capture irreversible or difficult-to-repeat dynamic scenes at the imaging speed of more than one billion frames per second, which is obtained by compressive sensing-based image reconstruction from a compressed 2D image through the discretization of detector pixels. However, an excessively high data compression ratio in CUP severely degrades the image reconstruction quality, thereby restricting its ability to observe ultrafast dynamic scenes with complex spatial structures. To address this issue, a discrete illumination-based CUP (DI-CUP) with high fidelity is reported. In DI-CUP, the dynamic scenes are loaded into an ultrashort laser pulse train with controllable sub-pulse number and time interval, thus the data compression ratio, as well as the overlap between adjacent frames, is greatly decreased and flexibly controlled through the discretization of dynamic scenes based on laser pulse train illumination, and high-fidelity image reconstruction can be realized within the same observation time window. Furthermore, the superior performance of DI-CUP is verified by observing femtosecond laser-induced ablation dynamics and plasma channel evolution, which are hardly resolved in the spatial structures using conventional CUP. Purpose: Ocular adverse events (oAEs) are a class of adverse events associated with oxaliplatin that are realistically observed in real-world settings. Herein, we aim to describe the clinical characteristics of oAEs associated with oxaliplatin through a systematic review of case reports and to assess a potential safety signal., Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were used to retrieve case reports. The global disproportionality study was performed leveraging the US Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database from January 2004 to September 2023. Bayesian information component (IC) and reporting odds ratio (ROR) were applied to identify and evaluate potential oAEs associated oxaliplatin., Findings: A total of 20 cases from the systematic case review (of 13 screened articles) were reported on oAEs associated with oxaliplatin, with ages between 26 and 76 years. Therein, 16 (84.2%) cases described loss of vision, and the remaining cases presented with bilateral blepharoptosis, papilledema, and optic disc swelling. Insights from the US Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database showed that oAEs accounted for 4.28% (n = 1194) of the overall oxaliplatin-related adverse event reports, of which 1140 (95.48%) had a serious outcome. The median (interquartile range) onset time of oAEs with oxaliplatin was day 1 (0-25; n = 649). Disproportionality analysis revealed that ocular injuries NEC (n = 28, ROR, 22.72; lower limit of the 95% 2-sided CI for IC, 3.12) was the most significant signals detected. Additionally, unexpected significant oAEs, including eyelid ptosis, eyelid edema, eye movement disorder, blepharospasm, periorbital edema, swelling of eyelid, ophthalmoplegia, retinal vein thrombosis, cataract nuclear, blindness cortical, cataract subcapsular, and lacrimation disorder, were also reported disproportionality., Implications: Our study systematically described the characteristics and outcomes of oxaliplatin-related ocular toxicity and also uncovered potential oAEs that were not disclosed in the package insert. Hydrogel sensors have attracted much attention as they play a critical role in health monitoring, multifunctional electronic skin, and human-machine interfaces. However, the isotropic structure makes existing hydrogel sensors exhibit isotropic sensing performance. Therefore, it is a challenge to fabricate hydrogels with human tissue-like structures to achieve anisotropic sensing performance. Herein, we proposed a novel method to prepare anisotropic hydrogel sensors using high-absorbent alginate fibers. The anisotropic hydrogel, HAFG@CNTs, was prepared by adsorbing carbon nanotubes on high-absorbent alginate fibers and immobilized using polyacrylamide bonds. The hydrogel had anisotropic mechanical properties and anisotropic ionic conductivity. The modulus and toughness in the parallel fiber direction were 2.31 and 3.75 times higher than those in the perpendicular fiber direction, respectively, and the sensitivity of the parallel fiber direction was higher than that of the vertical direction when strain occurred. In addition, machine learning algorithms were used to predict and classify different action signals obtained from HAFG@CNTs with an accuracy of up to 98.18 %. In this study, we compared the similarities and differences in adverse events (AEs) among CAR T-cell products through signal mining via the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) and identified unknown AEs to provide a reference for safe clinical medication. Data from the FAERS database spanning from the fourth quarter of 2017 to the first quarter of 2024 were extracted. Signals were identified using the reporting odds ratio (ROR) method and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) method. A total of 11,386 AE reports related to six CAR T-cell products were selected. The top three categories of AEs reported were nervous system disorders, immune system disorders, and general disorders and administration site conditions. However, there were variations in the AE spectra among the different CAR T-cell products. The BCMA-targeting drugs idecabtagene vicleucel (Ide-cel) and ciltacabtagene autoleucel (Cilta-cel) were found to be associated with parkinsonism, which were not observed in CD19-targeting drugs. Tisagenlecleucel (Tisa-cel) and axicabtagene ciloleucel (Axi-cel) exhibited cerebrovascular accident-related AEs, graft versus host disease, and abnormal coagulation indices. Cilta-cel was associated with cerebral hemorrhage, intracranial hemorrhage, cranial nerve disorder, and facial nerve disorder. Cardiopulmonary toxicity, including hypoxia, tachypnoea, cardiorenal syndrome, and hypotension, exhibited strong signal intensities and considerable overlap with CRS. The number of positive signals for cardiopulmonary toxicity associated with drugs targeting CD-19 is greater. Clinicians should assess patients prior to medication and closely monitor their vital signs, mental status, and laboratory parameters during treatment.

Diffuse large B‑cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common pathological type of non‑Hodgkin's lymphoma. Although the development of monoclonal antibodies, small‑molecule‑targeted drugs and novel chemotherapeutic agents, and the increased use of immunotherapy have markedly improved the outcomes of DLBCL, ~40% of patients cannot be cured following the use of standardized first‑line treatment. In addition, the specific mechanisms of drug resistance and potential factors associated with a poor prognosis in these patients remain unclear. Proteomics research is used to determine potential associations between changes in DLBCL protein expression levels and different stages of disease occurrence and development. Proteomics may aid in the identification of novel molecular mechanisms and drug resistance mechanisms, through identifying multiple associated proteins and monitoring changes in expression levels. Thus, proteomics research may exhibit potential in the development of therapeutic targets and in improving prognostic evaluation in patients with DLBCL. The present study aimed to review the use of proteomic methods for the investigation of DLBCL, including the mechanisms underlying disease progression and drug resistance in DLBCL, and the function of the tumor microenvironment in lymphoma growth. The present review also demonstrated the potential of proteomic‑guided therapeutic strategies for DLBCL and discussed the synergistic benefits of using proteomic methods in DLBCL research.

Objectives: To conduct psychometric testing of the Chinese version of the National Health Service Sustainability Model as an instrument to assess the sustainability of innovation in the Chinese nursing setting., Background: Evidence-based practice is recognized worldwide as a way to improve the quality of healthcare; however, many evidence-based practice programmes decline over time and do not sustain the benefits of their improvements. A sustainability assessment tool is used internationally but its use has not been validated in China., Design: A methodological study to test instrument validity and reliability., Methods: The data collection was conducted from 15 June 2022 to 31 August 2022. The internal consistency of the Chinese version of the sustainability model was measured with Cronbach's alpha. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the model's structural validity., Results: Four hundred eighty-three questionnaires were returned, of which 478 were valid. The short time taken to evaluate the Chinese version of the sustainability model demonstrated its efficiency and ability to adapt to a busy clinical environment. The confirmatory factor analysis showed a good fit model and supported the convergence validity of the sustainability model. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.905 for the total scale, which indicated good internal consistency., Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the Chinese version of the sustainability model is a valid, reliable and efficient tool for measuring the sustainability of evidence-based practices in Chinese nursing settings., (© 2023 John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd.)

Background: Platinum-based doublet chemotherapy is commonly used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A growing body of evidence indicates that incorporating antiangiogenic agents into platinum-based chemotherapy may enhance the survival outcomes for NSCLC patients. However, the optimal administration protocol for intravenous recombinant human endostatin (rh-endostatin), an antiangiogenic agent, remains uncertain at present., Aim: This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of 5-d continuous intravenous infusion of rh-endostatin in combination with chemotherapy for patients with advanced NSCLC. The predictive biomarkers for this treatment regimen were further probed., Methods: This prospective, single-arm multicenter study enrolled a total of 48 patients with advanced NSCLC who were histologically or cytologically confirmed but had not received any prior treatment from January 2021 to December 2022. Prior to the chemotherapy, these patients received a continuous intravenous infusion of rh-endostatin (210 mg) over a period of 120 h, using an infusion pump. The chemotherapy regimen included a combination of platinum with either pemetrexed or paclitaxel, given in 21-day cycles. The primary endpoint of the study was median progression-free survival (mPFS), and the secondary endpoints included median overall survival (mOS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), and assessment of adverse events (AEs)., Results: The mPFS was 6.5 months (95% confidence interval (CI): 3.8-9.1 m) while the mOS was 12.3 months (95% CI: 7.6-18.5 m). The ORR and DCR was 52.1% and 75.0%, respectively. Leukopenia (52.1%), anemia (33.3%), and thrombocytopenia (20.8%) were the most common adverse effects and these toxicities were deemed acceptable and manageable. In addition, a correlation was noted between elevated serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels and decreased PFS and OS., Conclusions: The incorporation of a 5-day continuous intravenous infusion of rh-endostatin into platinum-based doublet chemotherapy has demonstrated both safety and efficacy in the treatment of advanced NSCLC. Background: Although the mechanisms responsible for the pathogenesis of preeclampsia (PE) have not been entirely clarified, oxidative stress is thought to be its leading cause. As a major component responsible for reactive oxygen species (ROS) production during oxidative stress, p22phox, encoded by CYBA, is an essential subunit of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase. The aim of this study was to investigate whether CYBA expression and its polymorphism are associated with PE., Methods: Expression of CYBA was analysed in placentas from PE and control groups, as well as in HTR-8/SVneo cells stimulated with CoCl2 and TNF-α. Then, the CYBA C242T polymorphism in 1184 patients with PE and 1421 healthy controls was genotyped using the TaqMan probe, and the different distributions identified were confirmed by a case‒control association study., Results: Expression of CYBA mRNA and protein in the placenta of pregnant women with PE was significantly increased compared to controls. Expression of CYBA mRNA was also increased in HTR-8/SVneo cells collected after 24 h of separate stimulation with cobalt chloride and TNF-α. There was no significant difference in the distribution of the C242T locus genotype and CYBA allele frequency between the case group and control group (P > 0.05)., Conclusions: CYBA may play a role in the pathogenesis of oxidative stress in PE, in which it may function by cooperating with the TNF-α-related inflammatory pathway. Although no discrepant distribution of the CYBA C242T polymorphism in the Chinese population was detected, it is necessary to examine multiple CYBA SNPs in diverse populations and perform functional experiments to gain further insights into its pathogenesis., (© 2023. Background: The internet community has become a significant source for researchers to conduct qualitative studies analyzing users' views, attitudes, and experiences about public health. However, few studies have assessed the ethical issues in qualitative research using social media data., Objective: This study aims to review the reportage of ethical considerations in qualitative research utilizing social media data on public health care., Methods: We performed a scoping review of studies mining text from internet communities and published in peer-reviewed journals from 2010 to May 31, 2023. These studies, limited to the English language, were retrieved to evaluate the rates of reporting ethical approval, informed consent, and privacy issues. We searched 5 databases, that is, PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL, Cochrane, and Embase. Gray literature was supplemented from Google Scholar and OpenGrey websites. Studies using qualitative methods mining text from the internet community focusing on health care topics were deemed eligible. Data extraction was performed using a standardized data extraction spreadsheet. Findings were reported using PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews) guidelines., Results: After 4674 titles, abstracts, and full texts were screened, 108 studies on mining text from the internet community were included. Nearly half of the studies were published in the United States, with more studies from 2019 to 2022. Only 59.3% (64/108) of the studies sought ethical approval, 45.3% (49/108) mentioned informed consent, and only 12.9% (14/108) of the studies explicitly obtained informed consent. Approximately 86% (12/14) of the studies that reported informed consent obtained digital informed consent from participants/administrators, while 14% (2/14) did not describe the method used to obtain informed consent. Notably, 70.3% (76/108) of the studies contained users' written content or posts: 68% (52/76) contained verbatim quotes, while 32% (24/76) paraphrased the quotes to prevent traceability. However, 16% (4/24) of the studies that paraphrased the quotes did not report the paraphrasing methods. Moreover, 18.5% (20/108) of the studies used aggregated data analysis to protect users' privacy. Furthermore, the rates of reporting ethical approval were different between different countries (P=.02) and between papers that contained users' written content (both direct and paraphrased quotes) and papers that did not contain users' written content (P<.001)., Conclusions: Our scoping review demonstrates that the reporting of ethical considerations is widely neglected in qualitative research studies using social media data; such studies should be more cautious in citing user quotes to maintain user privacy. Further, our review reveals the need for detailed information on the precautions of obtaining informed consent and paraphrasing to reduce the potential bias. Introduction: While astrocytes participate in the CNS innate immunity against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection, they are the major target for the virus. Therefore, it is of importance to understand the interplay between the astrocyte-mediated immunity and HSV-1 infection., Methods: Both primary human astrocytes and the astrocyte line (U373) were used in this study. RT-qPCR and Western blot assay were used to measure IFNs, the antiviral IFN-stimulated genes (ISGs), IFN regulatory factors (IRFs) and HSV-1 DNA. IRF1 knockout or knockdown was performed with CRISPR/Cas9 and siRNA transfection techniques., Results: Poly(dA:dT) could inhibit HSV-1 replication and induce IFN-β/IFN-λs production in human astrocytes. Poly(dA:dT) treatment of astrocytes also induced the expression of the antiviral ISGs (Viperin, ISG56 and MxA). Among IRFs members examined, poly(dA:dT) selectively unregulated IRF1 and IRF9, particularly IRF1 in human astrocytes. The inductive effects of poly(dA:dT) on IFNs and ISGs were diminished in the IRF1 knockout cells. In addition, IRF1 knockout attenuated poly(dA:dT)-mediated HSV-1 inhibition in the cells., Conclusion: The DNA sensors activation induces astrocyte intracellular innate immunity against HSV-1. Background: Chemotherapy, whilst treating tumours, can also lead to numerous adverse reactions such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue and kidney toxicity, threatening the physical and mental health of patients. Simultaneously, misuse of chemotherapeutic drugs can seriously endanger patients' lives. Therefore, to maintain the safety of chemotherapy for cancer patients and to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions to chemotherapy, many guidelines state that a comprehensive assessment of the cancer patient should be conducted and documented before chemotherapy. This recommended procedure, however, has yet to be extensively embraced in Chinese hospitals. As such, this study aimed to standardise the content of pre-chemotherapy assessment for cancer patients in hospitals and to improve nurses' adherence to pre-chemotherapy assessment of cancer patients by conducting a national multi-site evidence implementation in China, hence protecting the safety of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and reducing the incidence of adverse reactions to chemotherapy in patients., Methods: The national multi-site evidence implementation project was launched by a JBI Centre of Excellence in China and conducted using the JBI approach to evidence implementation. A pre- and post-audit approach was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. This project had seven phases: training, planning, baseline audit, evidence implementation, two rounds of follow-up audits (3 and 9 months after evidence implementation, respectively) and sustainability assessment. A live online broadcast allowed all participating hospitals to come together to provide a summary and feedback on the implementation of the project., Results: Seventy-four hospitals from 32 cities in China participated in the project, four withdrew during the project's implementation, and 70 hospitals completed the project. The pre-and post-audit showed a significant improvement in the compliance rate of nurses performing pre-chemotherapy assessments for cancer patients. Patient satisfaction and chemotherapy safety were also improved through the project's implementation, and the participating nurses' enthusiasm and belief in implementing evidence into practice was increased., Conclusion: The study demonstrated the feasibility of academic centres working with hospitals to promote the dissemination of evidence in clinical practice to accelerate knowledge translation. This study aimed to explore the associations between air pollution and male sexual function. A total of 5047 male subjects in China were included in this study. The average air pollution exposure (PM 2.5 , PM 10 , SO 2 , CO, NO 2 , and O 3 ) for the preceding 1, 3, 6, and 12 months before the participants' response was assessed. Male sexual function was evaluated using the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5) and the Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT). Generalized linear models were utilized to explore the associations between air pollution and male sexual function. K-prototype algorithm was conducted to identify the association among specific populations. Significant adverse effects on the IIEF-5 score were observed with NO 2 exposure during the preceding 1, 3, and 6 months (1 m: β = -5.26E-05; 3 m: β = -4.83E-05; 6 m: β = -4.23E-05, P < 0.05). PM 2.5 exposure during the preceding 12 months was found to significantly negatively affect the PEDT after adjusting for confounding variables. Our research indicated negative correlations between air pollutant exposures and male sexual function for the first time. Aims: To assess the transition status of newly graduated nurses in China and identify its influencing factors., Background: Newly graduated nurses are the indispensable part of nursing human resource. The successful transition of into clinical work is crucial for their future career development. However, the transition status of new nurses in China remains inadequately explored., Design: A descriptive survey design was employed in this study., Methods: From October 2022 to January 2023, 1261 newly graduated nurses were surveyed online with the Transition Status Scale for Newly Graduated Nurses. Description statistical analysis was adopted to evaluate the transition status of new nurses. Independent-samples t-test, Analysis of Variance and Multiple Regression Analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of the transition status., Results: The total mean score of Transition Status Scale for Newly Graduated Nurses was 4.00 (SD=0.61). Competence for nursing work (Mean=4.20; SD=0.57) was rated the highest among the five dimensions of the scale, while the dimension of balance between work and life (Mean=3.65; SD=0.89) was rated the lowest. Mentored by senior nurses, night shift, attribute of working hospital, educational background, interned in the same department, tertiary general hospital, reasons for choosing nursing and working time can affect the transition status of new nurses, accounting for 17.9% of the variance in transition status (R²= 0.179, P＜0.001)., Conclusion: The transition status of newly graduated nurses in China is at a relatively high level, especially in the dimension of competence for nursing work. However, newly graduated nurses are in a relatively poor status of work-life balance. Nurse educators and managers need to pay more attention to the transitional training of highly educated nursing talents and the optimization of clinical transition training programs to prevent talent loss. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the potential risk of drug-induced liver injury (DILI) caused by the CDK4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6is abemaciclib, ribociclib, and palbociclib by comprehensively analyzing the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database. Moreover, potential toxicological mechanisms of CDK4/6is-related liver injury were explored via drug-gene network analysis., Methods: In this retrospective observational study, we collected reports of DILI associated with CDK4/6i use from the FAERS dated January 2014 to March 2023. We conducted disproportionality analyses using the reporting odds ratio (ROR) with a 95% confidence interval (CI). Pathway enrichment analysis and drug-gene network analyses were subsequently performed to determine the potential mechanisms underlying CDK4/6i-induced liver injury., Results: We found positive signals for DILI with ribociclib (ROR = 2.60) and abemaciclib (ROR = 2.37). DILIs associated with liver-related investigations, signs, and symptoms were confirmed in all three reports of CDK4/6is. Moreover, ascites was identified as an unlisted hepatic adverse effect of palbociclib. We isolated 189 interactive target genes linking CDK4/6 inhibitors to hepatic injury. Several key genes, such as STAT3, HSP90AA1, and EP300, were revealed via protein-protein analysis, emphasizing their central roles within the network. Purpose: Subconjunctival fibrosis is the main cause of failure after glaucoma filtration surgery. We explored the effects of sulforaphane (SFN) on the conversion of human Tenon's fibroblasts (HTFs) into myofibroblasts, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β-induced contraction of collagen gel, and inflammation., Methods: After treatment with the combination of TGF-β and SFN or TGF-β alone, primary HTFs were subjected to a three-dimensional collagen contraction experiment to examine their contractility. Levels of α smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), synthesis of extracellular matrix (ECM), and phosphorylation of various signaling molecules were determined by western blot or quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Fluorescence microscopy was employed to examine stress fiber formation in HTFs. The expressions of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) were determined using RT-qPCR., Results: The contraction of myofibroblasts caused by TGF-β was significantly suppressed by SFN. This suppressive effect was exerted via the differentiation of HTFs into myofibroblasts by inhibiting the production of fibronectin and the expression of α-SMA. Moreover, SFN treatment reduced the expression of TGF-β-promoted integrins β1 and α5, myosin light chain (MLC) phosphorylation, and stress fiber formation, as well as the expression of IL-6, IL-8, and CTGF. Finally, TGF-β-induced Smad2/3 and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylations were attenuated by SFN., Conclusions: SFN inhibits HTF contractility, differentiation into myofibroblasts, and inflammation caused by TGF-β. Background: The resilience education of intern nursing students has significant implications for the development and improvement of the nursing workforce. The clinical internship period is a critical time for enhancing resilience., Aims: To evaluate the resilience level of Chinese nursing interns and explore the effects of factors affecting resilience early in their careers, focusing on the mediating roles of career adaptability between clinical learning environment and resilience., Methods: The cross-sectional study design was adopted. From March 2022 to May 2023, 512 nursing interns in tertiary care hospitals were surveyed online with the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, the Clinical Learning Environment Scale for Nurse and the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale. Structural equation modelling was used to clarify the relationships among these factors. Indirect effects were tested using bootstrapped confidence intervals., Results: The nursing interns showed a moderately high level of resilience [M (SD) = 70.15 (19.90)]. Gender, scholastic attainment, scholarship, career adaptability and clinical learning environment were influencing factors of nursing interns' resilience. Male interns with good academic performance showed higher levels of resilience. Career adaptability and clinical learning environment positively and directly affected their resilience level (β = 0.62, 0.18, respectively, p < .01). Career adaptability was also positively affected by the clinical learning environment (β = 0.36, p < .01), and mediated the effect of clinical learning environment on resilience (β = 0.22, p < .01)., Conclusion: Clinical learning environment can positively affect the resilience level of nursing interns. Career adaptability can affect resilience directly and also play a mediating role between clinical learning environment and resilience. The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) Thr790 Met (T790M) mutation is responsible for approximately half of the acquired resistance to EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Identifying patients at diagnosis who are likely to develop this mutation after first- or second-generation EGFR-TKI treatment is crucial for better treatment outcomes. This study aims to develop and validate a radiomics-based machine learning (ML) approach to predict the T790M mutation in NSCLC patients at diagnosis. We collected retrospective data from 210 positive EGFR mutation NSCLC patients, extracting 1316 radiomics features from CT images. Using the LASSO algorithm, we selected 10 radiomics features and 2 clinical features most relevant to the mutations. We built models with 7 ML approaches and assessed their performance through the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The radiomics model and combined model, which integrated radiomics features and relevant clinical factors, achieved an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.80 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.79-0.81) and 0.86 (0.87-0.88), respectively, in predicting the T790M mutation. Our study presents a convenient and noninvasive radiomics-based ML model for predicting this mutation at the time of diagnosis, aiding in targeted treatment planning for NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations., (© 2024. Hyperspectrally compressed ultrafast photography (HCUP) based on compressed sensing and time- and spectrum-to-space mappings can simultaneously realize the temporal and spectral imaging of non-repeatable or difficult-to-repeat transient events with a passive manner in single exposure. HCUP possesses an incredibly high frame rate of tens of trillions of frames per second and a sequence depth of several hundred, and therefore plays a revolutionary role in single-shot ultrafast optical imaging. However, due to ultra-high data compression ratios induced by the extremely large sequence depth, as well as limited fidelities of traditional algorithms over the image reconstruction process, HCUP suffers from a poor image reconstruction quality and fails to capture fine structures in complex transient scenes. To overcome these restrictions, we report a flexible image reconstruction algorithm based on a total variation (TV) and cascaded denoisers (CD) for HCUP, named the TV-CD algorithm. The TV-CD algorithm applies the TV denoising model cascaded with several advanced deep learning-based denoising models in the iterative plug-and-play alternating direction method of multipliers framework, which not only preserves the image smoothness with TV, but also obtains more priori with CD. Therefore, it solves the common sparsity representation problem in local similarity and motion compensation. Both the simulation and experimental results show that the proposed TV-CD algorithm can effectively improve the image reconstruction accuracy and quality of HCUP, and may further promote the practical applications of HCUP in capturing high-dimensional complex physical, chemical and biological ultrafast dynamic scenes.

Background and objective: Sacituzumab govitecan (SG), the first antibody-drug conjugate targeting human trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop-2), has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer and urothelial cancer. However, there is currently a dearth of information regarding the safety profiles of SG in a large sample cohort. The objective of the present study is to investigate SG-related adverse events (AEs) in real-world settings leveraging the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database to guide the safety management of clinical medication. Methods: The FAERS database was retrospectively queried to extract reports associated with SG from April 2020 to March 2023. To identify and evaluate potential AEs in patients receiving SG, various disproportionality analyses such as reporting odds ratio (ROR), the proportional reporting ratio (PRR), the Bayesian confidence propagation neural network (BCPNN), and the multi-item gamma Poisson shrinker (MGPS) were employed. Results: Overall, 2069 reports of SG as the "primary suspect" were identified. Noteworthy, SG was significantly associated with an increased risk of blood lymphatic system disorders (ROR, 7.18; 95% CI, 6.58-7.84) and hepatobiliary disorders (ROR, 2.68; 95% CI, 2.17-3.30) at the System Organ Class (SOC) level. Meanwhile, 61 significant disproportionality preferred terms (PTs) simultaneously complied with all four algorithms were adopted. Therein, anemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, leukopenia, diarrhea, asthenia, alopecia, and electrolyte imbalance were consistent with the common AEs described in the clinical trials and specification of SG. Furthermore, unexpected significant AEs include colitis (ROR, 12.09; 95% CI, 9.1-16.08), heart rate increased (ROR, 5.11; 95% CI, 3.84-6.79), sepsis (ROR, 4.77; 95% CI, 3.59-6.34), cholestasis (ROR, 6.28; 95% CI, 3.48-11.36), blood bilirubin increased (ROR, 4.65; 95% CI, 2.42-8.94) and meningitis (ROR, 7.23; 95% CI, 2.71-19.29) were also be detected. The median time to onset of SG-related AEs was 14 [interquartile range (IQR), 7-52] days, with the majority occurring within the initial month of SG treatment. Background: TGF-β1 can induce epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in primary airway epithelial cells (AECs). Semaphorin7A (Sema7a) plays a crucial role in regulating immune responses and initiating and maintaining transforming growth factor β1 TGF-β1-induced fibrosis., Objective: To determine the expression of Sema7a, in serum isolated from asthmatics and non-asthmatics, the role of Sema7a in TGF-β1 induced proliferation, migration and airway EMT in human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs) in vitro ., Methods: The concentrations of Sema7a in serum of asthmatic patients was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The expressions of Sema7a and integrin-β1 were examined using conventional western blotting and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR). Interaction between the Sema7a and Integrin-β1 was detected using the Integrin-β1 blocking antibody (GLPG0187). The changes in EMT indicators were performed by western blotting and immunofluorescence, as well as the expression levels of phosphorylated Focal-adhesion kinase (FAK) and Extracellular-signal-regulated kinase1/2 (ERK1/2) were analyzed by western blot and their mRNA expression was determined by RT-PCR., Results: We described the first differentially expressed protein of sema7a, in patients with diagnosed bronchial asthma were significantly higher than those of healthy persons (P<0.05). Western blotting and RT-PCR showed that Sema7a and Integrin-β1 expression were significantly increased in lung tissue from the ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma model. GLPG0187 inhibited TGF-β1-mediated HBECs EMT, proliferation and migration, which was associated with Focal-adhesion kinase (FAK) and Extracellular-signal-regulated kinase1/2 (ERK1/2) phosphorylation., Conclusion: Sema7a may play an important role in asthma airway remodeling by inducing EMT. Background: The innovative method of sentiment analysis based on an emotional lexicon shows prominent advantages in capturing emotional information, such as individual attitudes, experiences, and needs, which provides a new perspective and method for emotion recognition and management for patients with breast cancer (BC). However, at present, sentiment analysis in the field of BC is limited, and there is no emotional lexicon for this field. Therefore, it is necessary to construct an emotional lexicon that conforms to the characteristics of patients with BC so as to provide a new tool for accurate identification and analysis of the patients' emotions and a new method for their personalized emotion management., Objective: This study aimed to construct an emotional lexicon of patients with BC., Methods: Emotional words were obtained by merging the words in 2 general sentiment lexicons, the Chinese Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (C-LIWC) and HowNet, and the words in text corpora acquired from patients with BC via Weibo, semistructured interviews, and expressive writing. The lexicon was constructed using manual annotation and classification under the guidance of Russell's valence-arousal space. Ekman's basic emotional categories, Lazarus' cognitive appraisal theory of emotion, and a qualitative text analysis based on the text corpora of patients with BC were combined to determine the fine-grained emotional categories of the lexicon we constructed. Precision, recall, and the F1-score were used to evaluate the lexicon's performance., Results: The text corpora collected from patients in different stages of BC included 150 written materials, 17 interviews, and 6689 original posts and comments from Weibo, with a total of 1,923,593 Chinese characters. The emotional lexicon of patients with BC contained 9357 words and covered 8 fine-grained emotional categories: joy, anger, sadness, fear, disgust, surprise, somatic symptoms, and BC terminology. Experimental results showed that precision, recall, and the F1-score of positive emotional words were 98.42%, 99.73%, and 99.07%, respectively, and those of negative emotional words were 99.73%, 98.38%, and 99.05%, respectively, which all significantly outperformed the C-LIWC and HowNet., Conclusions: The emotional lexicon with fine-grained emotional categories conforms to the characteristics of patients with BC. Its performance related to identifying and classifying domain-specific emotional words in BC is better compared to the C-LIWC and HowNet. Background: Given the rapid development of social media, effective extraction and analysis of the contents of social media for health care have attracted widespread attention from health care providers. As far as we know, most of the reviews focus on the application of social media, and there is a lack of reviews that integrate the methods for analyzing social media information for health care., Objective: This scoping review aims to answer the following 4 questions: (1) What types of research have been used to investigate social media for health care, (2) what methods have been used to analyze the existing health information on social media, (3) what indicators should be applied to collect and evaluate the characteristics of methods for analyzing the contents of social media for health care, and (4) what are the current problems and development directions of methods used to analyze the contents of social media for health care?, Methods: A scoping review following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines was conducted. We searched PubMed, the Web of Science, EMBASE, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, and the Cochrane Library for the period from 2010 to May 2023 for primary studies focusing on social media and health care. Two independent reviewers screened eligible studies against inclusion criteria. A narrative synthesis of the included studies was conducted., Results: Of 16,161 identified citations, 134 (0.8%) studies were included in this review. These included 67 (50.0%) qualitative designs, 43 (32.1%) quantitative designs, and 24 (17.9%) mixed methods designs. The applied research methods were classified based on the following aspects: (1) manual analysis methods (content analysis methodology, grounded theory, ethnography, classification analysis, thematic analysis, and scoring tables) and computer-aided analysis methods (latent Dirichlet allocation, support vector machine, probabilistic clustering, image analysis, topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and other natural language processing technologies), (2) categories of research contents, and (3) health care areas (health practice, health services, and health education)., Conclusions: Based on an extensive literature review, we investigated the methods for analyzing the contents of social media for health care to determine the main applications, differences, trends, and existing problems. We also discussed the implications for the future. Traditional content analysis is still the mainstream method for analyzing social media content, and future research may be combined with big data research. With the progress of computers, mobile phones, smartwatches, and other smart devices, social media information sources will become more diversified. Future research can combine new sources, such as pictures, videos, and physiological signals, with online social networking to adapt to the development trend of the internet. More medical information talents need to be trained in the future to better solve the problem of network information analysis. Background: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification plays key roles in tumor progression. LncRNA deoxyguanosine kinase antisense RNA 1 (DGUOK-AS1) has been reported as a promoter in tumors, but its role and mechanism in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) development remain uncertain., Methods: Cell proliferation, migration, invasion and angiogenesis were investigated via CCK-8, colony formation, transwell, and tube formation assays, respectively. The location of DGUOK-AS1 was detected via FISH assay. The interaction relationship among DGUOK-AS1, IGF2BP2 and TRPM7 was confirmed by RIP and MeRIP assays. The effects of DGUOK-AS1 on NSCLC growth and metastasis in vivo were investigated using xenograft and pulmonary metastatic models., Results: DGUOK-AS1 was upregulated in NSCLC. DGUOK-AS1 silencing inhibited NSCLC cell proliferation, migration, invasion and angiogenesis. DGUOK-AS1 was mostly expressed in cytoplasm, and positively regulated IGF2BP2. METTL3/IGF2BP2 axis could increase TRPM7 mRNA stability in m6A-dependent manner. TRPM7 overexpression reversed the inhibitive function of DGUOK-AS1 silencing on NSCLC development. Corneal alkali burn (AB) is a blindness-causing ocular trauma commonly seen in clinics. An excessive inflammatory reaction and stromal collagen degradation contribute to corneal pathological damage. Luteolin (LUT) has been studied for its anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, the effect of LUT on cornea stromal collagen degradation and inflammatory damage in rats with corneal alkali burn was investigated. After corneal alkali burn, rats were randomly assigned to the AB group and AB + LUT group and received an injection of saline and LUT (200 mg/kg) once daily. Subsequently, corneal opacity, epithelial defects, inflammation and neovascularization (NV) were observed and recorded on Days 1, 2, 3, 7 and 14 post-injury. The concentration of LUT in ocular surface tissues and anterior chamber, as well as the levels of collagen degradation, inflammatory cytokines, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their activity in the cornea were detected. Human corneal fibroblasts (HCFs) were co-cultured with interleukin (IL)-1β and LUT. Cell proliferation and apoptosis were assessed by CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry respectively. Measurement of hydroxyproline (HYP) in culture supernatants was used to quantify the amount of collagen degradation. Plasmin activity was also assessed. ELISA or real-time PCR was used to detect the production of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), IL-8, IL-6 and monocyte chemotactic protein (MCP)-1. Furthermore, the immunoblot method was used to assess the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), transforming growth factor-β-activated kinase (TAK)-1, activator protein-1 (AP-1) and inhibitory protein IκB-α. At last, immunofluorescence staining helped to develop nuclear factor (NF)-κB. LUT was detectable in ocular tissues and anterior chamber after intraperitoneal injection. An intraperitoneal injection of LUT ameliorated alkali burn-elicited corneal opacity, corneal epithelial defects, collagen degradation, NV, and the infiltration of inflammatory cells. The mRNA expressions of IL-1β, IL-6, MCP-1, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A, and MMPs in corneal tissue were downregulated by LUT intervention. And its administration reduced the protein levels of IL-1β, collagenases, and MMP activity. Furthermore, in vitro study showed that LUT inhibited IL-1β-induced type I collagen degradation and the release of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines by corneal stromal fibroblasts. LUT also inhibited the IL-1β-induced activation of TAK-1, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), c-Jun, and NF-κB signaling pathways in these cells. Our results demonstrate that LUT inhibited alkali burn-stimulated collagen breakdown and corneal inflammation, most likely by attenuating the IL-1β signaling pathway. Introduction: The production of root exudates with biological nitrification inhibition (BNI) effects is a strategy adopted by ammonium-N ( N H 4 + - N ) tolerant plant species that occur in N-limited environments. Most knowledge on BNI comes from plant species that occur in acidic soils., Methods: Here, combining field sampling and laboratory culture, we assessed the BNI-capacity of Leymus chinensis , a dominant grass species in alkaline grasslands in eastern Asia, and explored why L. chinensis has BNI ability., Results and Discussion: The results showed that L. chinensis has strong BNI-capacity. At a concentration of 1 mg mL -1 , L. chinensis ' root exudates inhibited nitrification in soils influenced by Puccinellia tenuiflora by 72.44%, while DCD only inhibited it by 68.29%. The nitrification potential of the soil of L. chinensis community was only 53% of the P. tenuiflora or 41% of the Suaeda salsa community. We also showed that the supply of N H 4 + - N driven by L. chinensis ' BNI can meet its requirements . In addition, N H 4 + - N can enhance plant adaptation to alkaline stress by regulating pH, and in turn, the uptake of nitrate-N ( NO 3 - - N ). We further demonstrated that the regulatory function of N H 4 + - N is greater than its nutritional function in alkaline environment. Autosomal recessive glutaric acidaemia type I (GA-I) is a rare hereditary metabolic disease characterized by increased organic acids and neurologic symptoms. Although numerous variants in the GCDH gene have been identified to be connected with the pathogenesis of GA-I, the relationship between genotype and phenotype remains uncertain. In this study, we evaluated genetic data for two GA-I patients from Hubei, China, and we reviewed the previous research findings to clarify the genetic heterogeneity of GA-I and identify the potential causative variants. After we extracted genomic DNA from peripheral blood samples obtained from two unrelated Chinese families, we used target capture high-throughput sequencing combined with Sanger sequencing to determine likely pathogenic variants in the two probands. Electronic databases were also searched for the literature review. The genetic analysis revealed two compound heterozygous variants in the GCDH gene expected to lead to GA-I in the two probands (P1 and P2), with P1 carrying two known variants (c.892G > A/p. A298T and c.1244-2A > C/IVS10-2A > C) and P2 harbouring two novel variants (c.370G > T/p.G124W and c.473A > G/p.E158G). In the literature review, the most common alleles in low excretors (i.e., individuals with low excretion of GA) were R227P, V400M, M405V, and A298T, with variation in the severity of clinical phenotypes. Overall, we identified two novel GCDH gene candidate pathogenic variants in a Chinese patient, enriching the GCDH gene mutational spectrum and providing a solid foundation for the early diagnosis of GA-I patients with low excretion., (© 2023. In this study, efficient remediation of p -chloroaniline (PCA)-contaminated soil by activated persulfate (PS) using nanosized zero-valent iron/biochar (B-nZVI/BC) through the ball milling method was conducted. Under the conditions of 4.8 g kg -1 B-nZVI/BC and 42.0 mmol L -1 PS with pH 7.49, the concentration of PCA in soil was dramatically decreased from 3.64 mg kg -1 to 1.33 mg kg -1 , which was much lower than the remediation target value of 1.96 mg kg -1 . Further increasing B-nZVI/BC dosage and PS concentration to 14.4 g kg -1 and 126.0 mmol L -1 , the concentration of PCA was as low as 0.15 mg kg -1 , corresponding to a degradation efficiency of 95.9%. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) signals indicated SO 4 • - , •OH, and O 2 • - radicals were generated and accounted for PCA degradation with the effect of low-valence iron and through the electron transfer process of the sp 2 hybridized carbon structure of biochar. 1-chlorobutane and glycine were formed and subsequently decomposed into butanol, butyric acid, ethylene glycol, and glycolic acid, and the degradation pathway of PCA in the B-nZVI/BC-PS system was proposed accordingly. The findings provide a significant implication for cost-effective and environmentally friendly remediation of PCA-contaminated soil using a facile ball milling preparation of B-nZVI/BC and PS.

Introduction: Tissue injury (TI) and hemorrhagic shock (HS) are the major contributors to trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC). However, the individual contributions of these insults are difficult to discern clinically because they typically coexist. TI has been reported to release procoagulants, while HS has been associated with bleeding. We developed a large animal model to isolate TI and HS and characterize their individual mechanistic pathways. We hypothesized that while TI and HS are both drivers of TIC, they provoke different pathways; specifically, TI reduces time to clotting, whereas, HS decreases clot strength stimulates hyperfibrinolysis., Methods: After induction of general anesthesia, 50 kg male, Yorkshire swine underwent isolated TI (bilateral muscle cutdown of quadriceps, bilateral femur fractures) or isolated HS (controlled bleeding to a base excess target of - 5 mmol/l) and observed for 240 min. Thrombelastography (TEG), calcium levels, thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI), protein C, plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1), and plasminogen activator inhibitor 1/tissue-type plasminogen activator complex (PAI-1-tPA) were analyzed at pre-selected timepoints. Linear mixed models for repeated measures were used to compare results throughout the model., Results: TI resulted in elevated histone release which peaked at 120 min (p = 0.02), and this was associated with reduced time to clot formation (R time) by 240 min (p = 0.006). HS decreased clot strength at time 30 min (p = 0.003), with a significant decline in calcium (p = 0.001). At study completion, HS animals had elevated PAI-1 (p = 0.01) and PAI-1-tPA (p = 0.04), showing a trend toward hyperfibrinolysis, while TI animals had suppressed fibrinolysis. Protein C, TAFI and skeletal myosin were not different among the groups., Conclusion: Isolated injury in animal models can help elucidate the mechanistic pathways leading to TIC. Our results suggest that isolated TI leads to early histone release and a hypercoagulable state, with suppressed fibrinolysis. To achieve global carbon neutrality, the realization of highly active and stable catalysts is critical for water splitting to produce green hydrogen (H 2 ). MoS 2 is considered to be the most promising non-precious metal catalyst for H 2 evolution because of its excellent properties. Herein, we report a metal-phase MoS 2 (1T-MoS 2 ) synthesized using a simple hydrothermal method. Using a similar procedure, we synthesize a monolithic catalyst (MC) in which 1T-MoS 2 is vertically bonded to a metal molybdenum plate via strong covalent bonds. These properties endow the MC with an extremely low-resistance interface and mechanical robustness, equipping it with outstanding durability and fast charge transfer. Results show that the MC can achieve stable water splitting at 350 mA cm -2 current density with a low 400 mV overpotential. The MC exhibits negligible performance decay after 60 h of operation at a large current density of 350 mA cm -2 . This study provides a novel possible MC with robust and metallic interfaces to achieve technically high current water splitting to produce green H 2 .

CoFe 2 O 4 /hydrochar composites (FeCo@HC) were synthesized via a facile one-step hydrothermal method and utilized to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for simultaneous degradation of monochlorobenzene (MCB) and p-chloroaniline (PCA). Additionally, the effects of humic acid, Cl - , HCO 3 - , H 2 PO 4 -, HPO 4 2- and water matrices were investigated and degradation pathways of MCB and PCA were proposed. The removal efficiencies of MCB and PCA were higher in FeCo@HC140-10/PMS system obtained under hydrothermal temperature of 140 °C than FeCo@HC180-10/PMS and FeCo@HC220-10/PMS systems obtained under higher temperatures. Radical species (i.e., SO 4 •- , •OH) and nonradical pathways (i.e., 1 O 2 , Fe (IV)/Co (IV) and electron transfer through surface FeCo@HC140-10/PMS* complex) co-occurred in the FeCo@HC140-10/PMS system, while radical and nonradical pathways were dominant in degrading MCB and PCA respectively. The surface functional groups (i.e., C-OH and CO) and Fe/Co redox cycles played crucial roles in the PMS activation. MCB degradation was significantly inhibited in the mixed MCB/PCA solution over that in the single MCB solution, whereas PCA degradation was slightly promoted in the mixed MCB/PCA solution. Immunotherapy is an approved treatment option for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, the response rate to immune checkpoint blockade is only 13% for recurrent HNSCC, highlighting the urgent need to better understand tumor-immune interplay, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes. HNSCC present high local recurrence rates and therapy resistance that can be attributed to the presence of cancer stem cells (CSC) within tumors. CSC exhibit singular properties that enable them to avoid immune detection and eradication. How CSC communicate with immune cells and which immune cell types are preferentially found within the CSC niche are still open questions. Here, we used genetic approaches to specifically label CSC-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) and to perform Sortase-mediated in vivo proximity labeling of CSC niche cells. We identified specific immune cell subsets that were selectively targeted by EVCSC and that were found in the CSC niche. Native EVCSC preferentially targeted MHC-II-macrophages and PD1+ T cells in the tumor microenvironment, which were the same immune cell subsets enriched within the CSC niche. Background: BRAF and MEK inhibitor combination therapy have significantly improved the outcome of several BRAF-mutation tumors, but it also confers the risk of drug-induced ocular adverse events (oAEs). However, very few studies focused on this risk., Methods: The United States Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) data from Quarter 1-2011 to Quarter 2-2022 were searched to detect signs of oAEs of three marketed BRAF and MEK inhibitor combination therapies: vemurafenib plus cobimetinib (V + C), dabrafenib plus trametinib (D + T), and encorafenib plus binimetinib (E + B). Disproportionality analyses were performed by calculating the proportional reporting ratio (PRR), χ2 (chi-square), and reporting odds ratios (RORs) with a 95% confidence interval (CI)., Results: A series of oAEs were identified, including 42 preferred terms, which could be classified into 8 aspects. In addition to previously reported oAEs, several unexpected oAE signals were detected. Moreover, differences in oAE profiles were found among three combination therapies (V + C, D + T, and E + B)., Conclusions: Our findings support an association between several oAEs and BRAF and MEK inhibitor combination therapies, including several new oAEs. In addition, oAEs profiles may vary across the treatment regimens. Further studies are needed to better quantify these oAEs.

Al/PTFE has the advantages of high impact-responsive energy release, appropriate sensitivity, a fast energy release rate, and high energy density, and it is increasingly widely being used in the field of ammunition. In this paper, based on the traditional formula Al/PTFE (26.5%/73.5%), the reinforced Al/PTFE active materials are prepared by the process of cold pressing, sintering, and rapid cooling. Quasi static and dynamic compression experiments were carried out under different compression pressures (200~800 MPa), strain rates (0.002 s -1 , 0.02 s -1 , 1400~3300 s -1 ), and temperatures (23 °C, -20 °C, -30 °C, -40 °C). The effects of pressure, strain rate, and temperature on the quasi-static and dynamic compression properties of Al/PTFE materials are analyzed. The results show that the reinforced Al/PTFE specimens show a significant correlation between temperature and strain rate. Based on the classical Zhu-Wang-Tang (ZWT) constitutive model, the ZWT constitutive model parameters of the reinforced Al/PTFE active materials under different pressing pressures at room temperature and the ZWT constitutive model parameters of the reinforced Al/PTFE active materials at low temperature are obtained by fitting, respectively. The accuracy of the constitutive model parameters (elastic modulus, stress relaxation time, and thermal softening index) is verified. In this paper, a constitutive model considering both temperature and strain rate effects is established in order to provide reference for the study of mechanical properties of active materials.

In this work, S doped Fe 2 B (Fe 2 B-S) was synthesized by sintering method and applied for the enhanced dechlorination of trichlorethylene (TCE). The degradation ratio (D) of TCE was 99.8% with reaction rate constant (k obs ) of 0.956 h -1 by 10.0at% S doped Fe 2 B (corresponding to Fe 2 B-S 10.0 ), compared to D and k obs values 37.3% and 0.067 h -1 by Fe 2 B, respectively. The major dechlorination products of acetylene, ethene, ethane and C 3 -C 6 hydrocarbon compounds were observed from a reductive β-elimination pathway. S doped and undoped Fe 2 B could form the first-level in-situ galvanic cell, and the returned S provided a second-level galvanic cell to further enhance electron transfer. The doped S worked as electron donor to increase the density of localized unpaired electrons, and the electron enriched Fe atoms leading to stronger reducibility were verified by the density functional theory (DFT) calculation. What Is Known and Objective: This study aimed to explore the safety profile of trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd, formerly DS-8201a) using multi-source medical data., Methods: We explored trastuzumab deruxtecan related adverse events (AEs) in clinical trials available in ClinicalTrials.gov and electronic databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE and PubMed) up to July 16, 2022. Meta-analysis was performed by using incidence rate with 95%CIs. In the pharmacovigilance study of FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS), the reporting odds ratio (ROR) and the medicines and healthcare products regulatory agency (MHRA) methods were used to analyse the real-world AEs (up to June 28, 2022)., Results and Discussion: A 8 clinical trials enrolled 1457 patients were included. The most common AEs of any grade were gastrointestinal disorders and blood and lymphatic system disorders. The most common AE of grade 3 or higher was neutropenia (21.4%, 95%CI: 14.7%-28.1%, I 2  = 91%). The incidence of interstitial lung disease (ILD) and decreased left ventricular ejection fraction were 10.9% (95%CI: 7.2%-14.5%, I 2  = 82%) and 1.2% (95%CI: 0.7%-2.2%, I 2  = 98%), respectively. A total of 1244 AE reports were identified in the pharmacovigilance study. Gastrointestinal toxicity (ROR = 21.65), myelosuppression (ROR = 36.88), interstitial lung disease (ROR = 50.30), pneumonitis (ROR = 36.59), decreased ejection fraction (ROR = 16.08), and taste disorder (ROR = 14.06) mentioned in the instructions showed strong signals. Also, ascites (ROR = 14.90), lung opacity (ROR = 78.80), pulmonary fibrosis (ROR = 5.59), and increased KL-6 (ROR = 1761.97), which were not mentioned in the instructions, showed strong signals., What Is New and Conclusion: Trastuzumab deruxtecan was well tolerated, and more attention should be paid on ILD as well as decreased ejection fraction., (© 2022 The Authors. Being capable of passively capturing transient scenes occurring in picoseconds and even shorter time with an extremely large sequence depth in a snapshot, compressed ultrafast photography (CUP) has aroused tremendous attention in ultrafast optical imaging. However, the high compression ratio induced by large sequence depth brings the problem of low image quality in image reconstruction, preventing CUP from observing transient scenes with fine spatial information. To overcome these restrictions, we propose an efficient image reconstruction algorithm with multi-scale (MS) weighted denoising based on the plug-and-play (PnP) based alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) framework for multi-channel coupled CUP (MC-CUP), named the MCMS-PnP algorithm. By removing non-Gaussian distributed noise using weighted MS denoising during each iteration of the ADMM, and adaptively adjusting the weights via sufficiently exploiting the coupling information among different acquisition channels collected by MC-CUP, a synergistic combination of hardware and algorithm can be realized to significantly improve the quality of image reconstruction. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed adaptive MCMS-PnP algorithm can effectively improve the accuracy and quality of reconstructed images in MC-CUP, and extend the detectable range of CUP to transient scenes with fine structures.

Interleukin (IL)‑27 can inhibit the differentiation of Th2 cells and plays a role in the development of asthma. However, whether the therapeutic administration of IL‑27 in a mouse model of asthma can inhibit allergic responses remains a matter of debate. Additionally, the mechanisms through which IL‑27 ameliorates inflammatory responses in asthma are not yet fully understood. Thus, the aim of the present study was to examine the effects of IL‑27 on asthma using a mouse model and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. For this purpose, mice received an intranasal administration of IL‑27 and the total and differential cell counts, levels of cytokines and type 1 regulatory T (Tr1) cells in the lungs were detected. The protein and mRNA levels of signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT)1 and STAT3 were analyzed and airway remodeling was assessed. The results indicated that IL‑27 did not ameliorate airway inflammation, airway hyperresponsiveness, and airway remolding when administrated therapeutically. Preventatively, the administration of IL‑27 decreased the concentrations of Th2 cytokines and increased the number of Tr1 cells. The protein and mRNA levels of STAT1 and STAT3 were increased. Taken together, these findings demonstrate that the prophylactic administration of IL‑27 ameliorates asthma by alleviating the lung Th2 inflammatory environment through the restoration of both the STAT1 and STAT3 pathways. IL‑27 may thus prove to be useful as a novel agent for the prevention of asthma.

Identifying an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation is important because EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors are the first-line treatment of choice for patients with EGFR mutation-positive lung adenocarcinomas (LUAC). This study is aimed at developing and validating a radiomics-based machine learning (ML) approach to identify EGFR mutations in patients with LUAC. We retrospectively collected data from 201 patients with positive EGFR mutation LUAC (140 in the training cohort and 61 in the validation cohort). We extracted 1316 radiomics features from preprocessed CT images and selected 14 radiomics features and 1 clinical feature which were most relevant to mutations through filter method. Subsequently, we built models using 7 ML approaches and established the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve to assess the discriminating performance of these models. In terms of predicting EGFR mutation, the model derived from radiomics features and combined models (radiomics features and relevant clinical factors) had an AUC of 0.79 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.77-0.82), 0.86 (0.87-0.88), respectively. Our study offers a radiomics-based ML model using filter methods to detect the EGFR mutation in patients with LUAC. The Li-ion hybrid capacitor (LIHC) is considered as a promising candidate for electrochemical energy storage owing to the high energy and power density. However, the sluggish anodic reaction kinetics and high reaction voltage greatly hinder the overall performance of LIHCs. Herein, a free-standing VN/MXene composite anode with high specific capacity and low reaction voltage was prepared by a simple vacuum filtration method. The obtained VN/MXene composite anode shows a high discharge specific capacity of 501.7 mA h g -1 at 0.1 A g -1 and excellent rate capability (191.8 mA h g -1 at 5 A g -1 ), as well as much extended cycling stability (1500 cycles at 2 A g -1 ). When combined with an egg white-derived activated carbon (E-AC) cathode, the assembled LIHC delivers a high specific capacity of 59.1 F g -1 and a high energy density of 129.3 W h kg -1 with a power density of 449.7 W kg -1 . Even at a high current density of 5 A g -1 , the LIHC still maintains an exciting energy density of 42.81 W h kg -1 at 11 249 W kg -1 . Meanwhile, the cycling life can be extended to 5000 cycles with a high capacity retention of 98% at 1 A g -1 . Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are newly recognized as important vectors for carrying and spreading antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). However, the ARGs harbored by EVs in ambient environments and the transfer potential are still unclear. In this study, the prevalence of ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) in EVs and their microbial origins were studied in indoor dust from restaurants, kindergarten, dormitories, and vehicles. The amount of EVs ranged from 3.40 × 10 7 to 1.09 × 10 11 particles/g dust. The length of EV-associated DNA fragments was between 21 bp and 9.7 kb. Metagenomic sequencing showed that a total of 241 antibiotic ARG subtypes encoding resistance to 16 common classes were detected in the EVs from all four fields. Multidrug, quinolone, and macrolide resistance genes were the dominant types. 15 ARG subtypes were exclusively carried and even enriched in EVs compared to the indoor microbiome. Moreover, several ARGs showed co-occurrence with MGEs. The EVs showed distinct taxonomic composition with their original dust microbiota. 30.23% of EV-associated DNA was predicted to originate from potential pathogens. Our results indicated the widespread of EVs carrying ARGs and virulence genes in daily life indoor dust, provided new insights into the status of extracellular DNA, and raised risk concerns on their gene transfer potential.

Replacing the commercial graphite anode in Li-ion batteries with pseudocapacitor materials is an effective way to obtain high-performance energy storage devices. α-MoO 3 is an attractive pseudocapacitor electrode material due to its theoretical capacity of 1117 mAh g -1 . Nevertheless, its low conductivity greatly limits its electrochemical performance. MXene is often used as a 2D conductive substrate and flexible framework for the development of a non-binder electrode because of its unparalleled electronic conductivity and excellent mechanical flexibility. Herein, a free-standing α-MoO 3 /MXene composite anode with a high specific capacity and an outstanding rate capability was prepared using a green and simple method. The resultant α-MoO 3 /MXene composite electrode combines the advantages of each of the two components and possesses improved Li + diffusion kinetics. In particular, this α-MoO 3 /MXene free-standing electrode exhibited a high Li + storage capacity (1008 mAh g -1 at 0.1 A g -1 ) and an outstanding rate capability (172 mAh g -1 at 10 A g -1 ), as well as a much extended cycling stability (500 cycles at 0.5 A g -1 ). Furthermore, a full cell was fabricated using commercial LiFePO 4 as the cathode, which displayed a high Li + storage capacity of 160 mAh g -1 with an outstanding rate performance (48 mAh g -1 at 1 A g -1 ). We believe that our research reveals new possibilities for the development of an advanced free-standing electrode from pseudocapacitive materials for high-performance Li-ion storage.

The purpose is to study the effects of different doses of medium chain triglyceride (MCT) on growth performance, immune and oxidative functions, and intestinal health of weaned rabbits. A total of 600 weaned rabbits weighing about 993.26 g and at 35 d of age were randomly divided into five groups. The control group was fed a basal diet containing 2400 mg/kg soybean oil, and the experimental group was substituted with 600, 1200, 1800, and 2400 mg/kg MCT. The whole trial period lasted for 48 d. The results showed that treatment with 2400 mg/kg MCT significantly increased the weaning survival rate and crude fat digestibility (p < 0.05) and dramatically raised the levels of serum immunoglobulin (Ig)A, IgG, IgM, catalase, superoxide dismutase, and total antioxidant capability (p < 0.05). The villus height and crypt depth in 1800 mg/kg MCT group were observably enhanced (p < 0.05). The abundance of Bacteroidetes was significantly increased in 1800 and 2400 mg/kg MCT groups (p < 0.05). In conclusion, 1800 and 2400 mg/kg MCT substituting soybean oil in the diet of weaned rabbits can improve the growth performance and intestinal barrier function of weaned rabbits., (© 2022 Japanese Society of Animal Science.)

Depression is related to the defect of emotion processing, and people's emotional processing is crossmodal. This article aims to investigate whether there is a difference in audiovisual emotional integration between the depression group and the normal group using a high-resolution event-related potential (ERP) technique. We designed a visual and/or auditory detection task. The behavioral results showed that the responses to bimodal audiovisual stimuli were faster than those to unimodal auditory or visual stimuli, indicating that crossmodal integration of emotional information occurred in both the depression and normal groups. The ERP results showed that the N2 amplitude induced by sadness was significantly higher than that induced by happiness. The participants in the depression group showed larger amplitudes of N1 and P2, and the average amplitude of LPP evoked in the frontocentral lobe in the depression group was significantly lower than that in the normal group. Lymph nodes are key lymphoid organs collecting lymph fluid and migratory cells from the tissue area they survey. When cancerous cells arise within a tissue, the sentinel lymph node is the first immunological organ to mount an immune response. Sub-capsular sinus macrophages (SSMs) are specialized macrophages residing in the lymph nodes that play important roles as gatekeepers against particulate antigenic material. In the context of cancer, SSMs capture tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (tEVs), a form of particulate antigen released in high amounts by tumor cells. We and others have recently demonstrated that SSMs possess anti-tumor activity because in their absence tumors progress faster. A comprehensive profiling of SSMs represents an important first step to identify the cellular and molecular mechanisms responsible for SSM anti-tumor activity. Unfortunately, the isolation of SSMs for molecular analyses is very challenging. Here, we combined an optimized dissociation protocol, careful marker selection and stringent gating strategies to highly purify SSMs. We provide evidence of decreased T and B cell contamination, which allowed us to reveal the gene expression profile of this elusive macrophage subset. Squamous cell carcinomas induced an increase in the expression of Fc receptors, lysosomal and proteasomal enzymes in SSMs. Imaging of mouse and patient lymph nodes confirmed the presence of the top differentially expressed genes.
