Optically addressable spin defects in three-dimensional (3D) crystals and two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) materials are revolutionizing nanoscale quantum sensing. Spin defects in one-dimensional (1D) vdW nanotubes will provide unique opportunities due to their small sizes in two dimensions and absence of dangling bonds on side walls. However, optically detected magnetic resonance of localized spin defects in a nanotube has not been observed. Here, we report the observation of single spin color centers in boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) at room temperature. Our findings suggest that these BNNT spin defects possess a spin S = 1/2 ground state without an intrinsic quantization axis, leading to orientation-independent magnetic field sensing. We harness this unique feature to observe anisotropic magnetization of a 2D magnet in magnetic fields along orthogonal directions, a challenge for conventional spin S = 1 defects such as diamond nitrogen-vacancy centers. Additionally, we develop a method to deterministically transfer a BNNT onto a cantilever and use it to demonstrate scanning probe magnetometry. Efficient and stable red perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) demonstrate promising potential in high-definition displays and biomedical applications. Although significant progress has been made in device performance, meeting commercial demands remains a challenge in the aspects of long-term stability and high external quantum efficiency (EQE). Here, an in situ crystallization regulation strategy is developed for optimizing red perovskite films through ingenious vapor design. Mixed vapor containing dimethyl sulfoxide and carbon disulfide (CS 2 ) is incorporated to conventional annealing, which contributes to thermodynamics dominated perovskite crystallization for well-aligned cascade phase arrangement. Additionally, the perovskite surface defect density is minimized by the CS 2 molecule adsorption. Consequently, the target perovskite films exhibit smooth exciton energy transfer, reduced defect density, and blocked ion migration pathways. Leveraging these advantages, spectrally stable red PeLEDs are obtained featuring emission at 668, 656, and 648 nm, which yield record peak EQEs of 30.08%, 32.14%, and 29.04%, along with prolonged half-lifetimes of 47.7, 60.0, and 43.7 h at the initial luminances of 140, 250, and 270 cd m -2 , respectively. The senescence of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) leads to the impairment of stemness and osteogenic differentiation capacity. In a previous study, we screened out stearoyl-CoA desaturase 2 (SCD2), the most evidently changed differential gene in lipid metabolism, using combined transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses, and verified that SCD2 could mitigate MSC senescence. However, the underlying molecular mechanism by which the rate-limiting enzyme of lipogenesis SCD2 manipulates MSC senescence has not been completely understood. In this study, we demonstrate that SCD2 over-expression alleviates MSC replicative senescence and ameliorates their osteogenic differentiation through the regulation of lipogenesis. Furthermore, SCD2 expression is reduced, whereas miR-200c-3p expression is elevated in replicative senescent MSCs. SCD2 is the direct target gene of miR-200c-3p, which can bind to the 3'-UTR of SCD2. MiR-200c-3p replenishment in young MSCs is able to diminish SCD2 expression levels due to epigenetic modulation. In addition, SCD2-rescued MSC senescence and enhanced osteogenic differentiation can be attenuated by miR-200c-3p repletion via suppressing lipogenesis. Taken together, we reveal the potential mechanism of SCD2 influencing MSC senescence from the perspective of lipid metabolism and epigenetics, which provides both an experimental basis for elucidating the mechanism of stem cell senescence and a novel target for delaying stem cell senescence.

Mixed tin-lead perovskite solar cells can reach bandgaps as low as 1.2 eV, offering high theoretical efficiency and serving as base materials for all-perovskite tandem solar cells. However, instability and high defect densities at the interfaces, particularly the buried surface, have limited performance improvements. In this work, we present the modification of the bottom perovskite interface with multifunctional hydroxylamine salts. These salts can effectively coordinate the different perovskite components, having critical influences in regulating the crystallization process and passivating defects of varying nature. The surface modification reduced traps at the interface and prevented the formation of excessive lead iodide, enhancing the quality of the films. The modified devices presented fill factors reaching 81% and efficiencies of up to 23.8%. Interface-induced nonradiative recombination losses at the perovskite/electron transport layer (ETL) are an impediment to improving the efficiency and stability of inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Tridecafluorohexane-1-sulfonic acid potassium (TFHSP) is employed as a multifunctional dipole molecule to modify the perovskite surface. The solid coordination and hydrogen bonding efficiently passivate the surface defects, thereby reducing nonradiative recombination. The induced positive dipole layer between the perovskite and ETLs improves the energy band alignment, enhancing interface charge extraction. Additionally, the strong interaction between TFHSP and the perovskite stabilizes the perovskite surface, while the hydrophobic fluorinated moieties prevent the ingress of water and oxygen, enhancing the device stability. The resultant devices achieve a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.6%. The unencapsulated devices retain 91% of their initial efficiency after 1000 h in air with 60% relative humidity, and 95% after 500 h under maximum power point (MPP) tracking at 35 °C. Organometal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have received great attention owing to a rapid increase in power conversion efficiency (PCE) over the last decade. However, the deficit of long-term stability is a major obstacle to the implementation of PSCs in commercialization. The defects in perovskite films are considered as one of the primary causes. To address this issue, isocyanic acid (HNCO) is introduced as an additive into the perovskite film, in which the added molecules form covalent bonds with FA cations via a chemical reaction. This chemical reaction gives rise to an efficient passivation on the perovskite film, resulting in an improved film quality, a suppressed non-radiation recombination, a facilitated carrier transport, and optimization of energy band levels. As a result, the HNCO-based PSCs achieve a high PCE of 24.41% with excellent storage stability both in an inert atmosphere and in air. Different from conventional passivation methods based on coordination effects, this work presents an alternative chemical reaction for defect passivation, which opens an avenue toward defect-mitigated PSCs showing enhanced performance and stability., (© 2024 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are one of the most widely studied adult stem cells, while MSC replicative senescence occurs with serial expansion in vitro. We determined whether miR-34a can regulate MSC senescence by directly targeting glycolytic key enzymes to influence glycolysis., Methods: Detected the effects of miR-34a on MSC senescence and glycolytic metabolism through gene manipulation. Bioinformatics prediction and luciferase reporter assay were applied to confirm that HK1 is a direct target of miR-34a. The underlying regulatory mechanism of miR-34a targeting HK1 in MSC senescence was further explored by a cellular function recovery experiment., Results: In the current study, we revealed that miR-34a over-expression exacerbated senescence-associated characteristics and impaired glycolytic metabolism. Then we identified hexokinase1 (HK1) as a direct target gene of miR-34a. And HK1 replenishment reversed MSC senescence and reinforced glycolysis. In addition, miR-34a-mediated MSC senescence and lower glycolytic levels were evidently rescued following the co-treatment with HK1 over-expression., Conclusion: The miR-34a-HK1 signal axis can alleviate MSC senescence via enhancing glycolytic metabolism, which possibly provides a novel mechanism for MSC senescence and opens up new possibilities for delaying and suppressing the occurrence and development of aging and age-related diseases., (© 2024. Mixed tin-lead (Sn-Pb) perovskites have attracted the attention of the community due to their narrow bandgap, ideal for photovoltaic applications, especially tandem solar cells. However, the oxidation and rapid crystallization of Sn 2+ and the interfacial traps hinder their development. Here, cross-linkable [6,6]-phenyl-C 61 -butyric styryl dendron ester (C-PCBSD) is introduced during the quenching step of perovskite thin film processing to suppress the generation of surface defects at the electron transport layer interface and improve the bulk crystallinity. The C-PCBSD has strong coordination ability with Sn 2+ and Pb 2+ perovskite precursors, which retards the crystallization process, suppresses the oxidation of Sn 2+ , and improves the perovskite bulk and surface crystallinity, yielding films with reduced nonradiative recombination and enhanced interface charge extraction. Besides, the C-PCBSD network deposited on the perovskite surface displays superior hydrophobicity and oxygen resistance. Consequently, the devices with C-PCBSD obtain PCEs of up to 23.4% and retained 97% of initial efficiency after 2000 h of storage in a N 2 atmosphere., (© 2024 The Author(s). Previous findings have suggested a close association between oxygen vacancies in SnO 2 and charge carrier recombination as well as perovskite decomposition at the perovskite/SnO 2 interface. Underlying the fundamental mechanism holds great significance in achieving a more favorable balance between the efficiency and stability. In this study, we prepared three SnO 2 samples with different oxygen vacancy concentrations and observed that a low oxygen vacancy concentration is conducive to long-term device stability. Iodide ions were observed to easily diffuse into regions with high oxygen vacancies, thereby speeding up the deprotonation of FAI, as made evident by the detection of the decomposition product formamide. In contrast, a high oxygen vacancy concentration in SnO 2 could prevent hole injection, leading to a decrease in interfacial recombination losses. To suppress this decomposition reaction and address the trade-off, we designed a bilayer SnO 2 structure to ensure highly efficient carrier transport still while maintaining a chemically inert surface. As a result, an enhanced efficiency of 25.06% (certified at 24.55% with an active area of 0.09 cm 2 under fast scan) was achieved, and the extended operational stability maintained 90% of their original efficiency (24.52%) after continuous operation for nearly 2000 h. Additionally, perovskite submodules with an active area of 14 cm 2 were successfully assembled with a PCE of up to 22.96% (20.09% with an aperture area).

Perturbation theory (PT) might be one of the most powerful and fruitful tools for both physicists and chemists, which has led to a wide variety of applications. Over the past decades, advances in quantum computing provide opportunities for alternatives to classical methods. Recently, a general quantum circuit estimating the low order PT corrections has been proposed. In this article, we revisit the quantum circuits for PT calculations, and develop the methods for higher order PT corrections of eigenenergy, especially the 3rd and 4th order corrections. We present the feasible quantum circuit to estimate each term in these PT corrections. There are two the fundamental operations in the proposed circuit. One approximates the perturbation terms, the other approximates the inverse of unperturbed energy difference. The proposed method can be generalized to higher order PT corrections., (© 2024. Levitated diamond particles in high vacuum with internal spin qubits have been proposed for exploring macroscopic quantum mechanics, quantum gravity, and precision measurements. The coupling between spins and particle rotation can be utilized to study quantum geometric phase, create gyroscopes and rotational matter-wave interferometers. However, previous efforts in levitated diamonds struggled with vacuum level or spin state readouts. To address these gaps, we fabricate an integrated surface ion trap with multiple stabilization electrodes. This facilitates on-chip levitation and, for the first time, optically detected magnetic resonance measurements of a nanodiamond levitated in high vacuum. The internal temperature of our levitated nanodiamond remains moderate at pressures below 10 -5 Torr. We have driven a nanodiamond to rotate up to 20 MHz (1.2 × 10 9 rpm), surpassing typical nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center electron spin dephasing rates. Using these NV spins, we observe the effect of the Berry phase arising from particle rotation. In addition, we demonstrate quantum control of spins in a rotating nanodiamond. These results mark an important development in interfacing mechanical rotation with spin qubits, expanding our capacity to study quantum phenomena., (© 2024. The Author(s).)

Gramine (GRM), which occurs in Gramineae plants, has been developed to be a biological insecticide. Exposure to GRM was reported to induce elevations of serum ALT and AST in rats, but the mechanisms of the observed hepatotoxicity have not been elucidated. The present study aimed to identify reactive metabolites that potentially participate in the toxicity. In rat liver microsomal incubations fortified with glutathione or N -acetylcysteine, one oxidative metabolite (M1), one glutathione conjugate (M2), and one N -acetylcysteine conjugate (M3) were detected after exposure to GRM. The corresponding conjugates were detected in the bile and urine of rats after GRM administration. CYP3A was the main enzyme mediating the metabolic activation of GRM. The detected GSH and NAC conjugates suggest that GRM was metabolized to a quinone imine intermediate. Both GRM and M1 showed significant toxicity to rat primary hepatocytes.

Due to the complex interactions between multiple infectious diseases, the spreading of diseases in human bodies can vary when people are exposed to multiple sources of infection at the same time. Typically, there is heterogeneity in individuals' responses to diseases, and the transmission routes of different diseases also vary. Therefore, this paper proposes an SIS disease spreading model with individual heterogeneity and transmission route heterogeneity under the simultaneous action of two competitive infectious diseases. We derive the theoretical epidemic spreading threshold using quenched mean-field theory and perform numerical analysis under the Markovian method. Numerical results confirm the reliability of the theoretical threshold and show the inhibitory effect of the proportion of fully competitive individuals on epidemic spreading. The results also show that the diversity of disease transmission routes promotes disease spreading, and this effect gradually weakens when the epidemic spreading rate is high enough. Finally, we find a negative correlation between the theoretical spreading threshold and the average degree of the network. We demonstrate the practical application of the model by comparing simulation outputs to temporal trends of two competitive infectious diseases, COVID-19 and seasonal influenza in China., (© 2024. A considerable efficiency gap exists between large-area perovskite solar modules and small-area perovskite solar cells. The control of forming uniform and large-area film and perovskite crystallization is still the main obstacle restricting the efficiency of PSMs. In this work, we adopted a solid-liquid two-step film formation technique, which involved the evaporation of a lead iodide film and blade coating of an organic ammonium halide solution to prepare perovskite films. This method possesses the advantages of integrating vapor deposition and solution methods, which could apply to substrates with different roughness and avoid using toxic solvents to achieve a more uniform, large-area perovskite film. Furthermore, modification of the NiO x /perovskite buried interface and introduction of Urea additives were utilized to reduce interface recombination and regulate perovskite crystallization. As a result, a large-area perovskite film possessing larger grains, fewer pinholes, and reduced defects could be achieved. The inverted PSM with an active area of 61.56 cm 2 (10 × 10 cm 2 substrate) achieved a champion power conversion efficiency of 20.56% and significantly improved stability. The performance of blue quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) is limited by unbalanced charge injection, resulting from insufficient holes caused by low mobility or significant energy barriers. Here, we introduce an angular-shaped heteroarene based on cyclopentane[ b ]thiopyran (C 8 -SS) to modify the hole transport layer poly- N -vinylcarbazole (PVK), in blue QLEDs. C 8 -SS exhibits high hole mobility and conductivity due to the π···π and S···π interactions. Introducing C 8 -SS to PVK significantly enhanced hole mobility, increasing it by 2 orders of magnitude from 2.44 × 10 -6 to 1.73 × 10 -4 cm 2 V -1 s -1 . Benefiting from high mobility and conductivity, PVK:C 8 -SS-based QLEDs exhibit a low turn-on voltage ( V on ) of 3.2 V. More importantly, the optimized QLEDs achieve a high peak power efficiency (PE) of 7.13 lm/W, which is 2.65 times that of the control QLEDs. The as-proposed interface engineering provides a novel and effective strategy for achieving high-performance blue QLEDs in low-energy consumption lighting applications.

Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) have displayed great potential for improving efficiency and stability in p-i-n perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The anchoring of SAMs at the conductiv metal oxide substrates and their interaction with perovskite materials must be rationally tailored to ensure efficient charge carrier extraction and improved quality of the perovskite films. Herein, SAMs molecules with different anchoring groups and spacers to control the interaction with perovskite in the p-i-n mixed Sn-Pb PSCs are selected. It is found that the monolayer with the carboxylate group exhibits appropriate interaction and has a more favorable orientation and arrangement than that of the phosphate group. This results in reduced nonradiative recombination and enhanced crystallinity. In addition, the short chain length leads to an improved energy level alignment of SAMs with perovskite, improving hole extraction. As a result, the narrow bandgap (≈1.25 eV) Sn-Pb PSCs show efficiencies of up to 23.1% with an open-circuit voltage of up to 0.89 V. Unencapsulated devices retain 93% of their initial efficiency after storage in N 2 atmosphere for over 2500 h. The treadmill exercise test (TET) serves as a non-invasive method for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). Despite its widespread use, TET reports are susceptible to external influences, heightening the risk of misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis. In this paper, we propose a novel automatic CAD diagnosis approach. The proposed approach introduces a customized preprocessing method to obtain clear electrocardiograms (ECGs) from individual TET reports. Additionally, it presents TETDiaNet, a novel neural network designed to explore the temporal relationships within TET ECGs. Central to TETDiaNet is the TETDia block, which mimics clinicians' diagnostic processes to extract essential diagnostic information. This block encompasses an intra-state contextual learning module and an inter-state contextual learning module, modeling the temporal relationships within a single state and between states, respectively. These two modules help the TETDia block to capture effective diagnosis information by exploring the temporal relationships within TET ECGs. Furthermore, we establish a new TET dataset named TET4CAD for CAD diagnosis. It contains simplified TET reports for 192 CAD patients and 224 non-CAD patients, and each patient undergoes coronary angiography for labeling. Experimental results on TET4CAD underscore the superior performance of the proposed approach, highlighting the discriminative value of the temporal relationships within TET ECGs for CAD diagnosis.

While the monolayer sheet is well-established as a Mott-insulator with a finite energy gap, the insulating nature of bulk 1T-TaS 2 crystals remains ambiguous due to their varying dimensionalities and alterable interlayer coupling. In this study, we present a unique approach to unlock the intertwined two-dimensional Mott-insulator and three-dimensional band-insulator states in bulk 1T-TaS 2 crystals by structuring a laddering stack along the out-of-plane direction. Through modulating the interlayer coupling, the insulating nature can be switched between band-insulator and Mott-insulator mechanisms. Our findings demonstrate the duality of insulating nature in 1T-TaS 2 crystals. By manipulating the translational degree of freedom in layered crystals, our discovery presents a promising strategy for exploring fascinating physics, independent of their dimensionality, thereby offering a "three-dimensional" control for the era of slidetronics., (© 2024. Perovskite photovoltaics, typically based on a solution-processed perovskite layer with a film thickness of a few hundred nanometres, have emerged as a leading thin-film photovoltaic technology. Nevertheless, many critical issues pose challenges to its commercialization progress, including industrial compatibility, stability, scalability and reliability. A thicker perovskite film on a scale of micrometres could mitigate these issues. However, the efficiencies of thick-film perovskite cells lag behind those with nanometre film thickness. With the mechanism remaining elusive, the community has long been under the impression that the limiting factor lies in the short carrier lifetime as a result of defects. Here, by constructing a perovskite system with extraordinarily long carrier lifetime, we rule out the restrictions of carrier lifetime on the device performance. Through this, we unveil the critical role of the ignored lattice strain in thick films. Narrow bandgap cubic formamidine perovskite (α-FAPbI 3 ) is widely studied for its potential to achieve record‑breaking efficiency. However, its high preparation difficulty caused by lattice instability is criticized. A popular strategy for stabilizing the α-FAPbI 3 lattice is to replace intrinsic FA + or I - with smaller ions of MA + , Cs + , Rb + , and Br - , whereas this generally leads to broadened optical bandgap and phase separation. Studies show that ions substitution-free phase-pure α-FAPbI 3 can achieve intrinsic phase stability. However, the challenging preparation of high-quality films has hindered its further development. Here, a facile synthesis of high-quality MA + , Cs + , Rb + , and Br - -free phase-pure α-FAPbI 3 perovskite film by a new solution modification strategy is reported. This enables the activation of lead-iodine (Pb─I) frameworks by forming the coated Pb⋯O network, thus simultaneously promoting spontaneous homogeneous nucleation and rapid phase transition from δ to α phase. As a result, the efficient and stable phase-pure α-FAPbI 3 PSC is obtained through a one-step method without antisolvent treatment, with a record efficiency of 23.15% and excellent long-term operating stability for 500 h under continuous light stress., (© 2023 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

Enhancing the quality of junctions is crucial for optimizing carrier extraction and suppressing recombination in semiconductor devices. In recent years, metal halide perovskite has emerged as the most promising next-generation material for optoelectronic devices. However, the construction of high-quality perovskite junctions, as well as characterization and understanding of their carrier polarity and density, remains a challenge. In this study, using combined electrical and spectroscopic characterization techniques, we investigate the doping characteristics of perovskite films by remote molecules, which is corroborated by our theoretical simulations indicating Schottky defects consisting of double ions as effective charge dopants. Through a post-treatment process involving a combination of biammonium and monoammonium molecules, we create a surface layer of n-type low-dimensional perovskite. This surface layer forms a heterojunction with the underlying 3D perovskite film, resulting in a favorable doping profile that enhances carrier extraction. The fabricated device exhibits an outstanding open-circuit voltage ( V OC ) up to 1.34 V and achieves a certified efficiency of 19.31% for single-junction wide-bandgap (1.77 eV) perovskite solar cells, together with significantly enhanced operational stability, thanks to the improved separation of carriers. Furthermore, we demonstrate the potential of this wide-bandgap device by achieving a certified efficiency of 27.04% and a V OC of 2.12 V in a perovskite/perovskite tandem solar cell configuration., (© The Author(s) 2024. Quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) perovskites are emerging as efficient emitters in blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs), while the imbalanced crystallization of the halide-mixed system limits further improvements in device performance. The rapid crystallization caused by Cl doping produces massive defects at the interface, leading to aggravated non-radiative recombination. Meanwhile, unmanageable perovskite crystallization is prone to facilitate the formation of nonuniform low-dimensional phases, which results in energy loss during the exciton transfer process. Here, we propose a multifunctional interface engineering for nucleation and phase regulation by incorporating the zwitterionic additive potassium sulfamate into the hole transport layer. By using potassium ions (K + ) as heterogeneous nucleation seeds, finely controlled growth of interfacial K + -guided grains is achieved. The sulfamate ions can simultaneously regulate the phase distribution and passivate defects through coordination interactions with undercoordinated lead atoms. Consequently, such synergistic effect constructs quasi-2D blue perovskite films with smooth energy landscape and reduced trap states, leading to pure-blue PeLEDs with a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 17.32 %, spectrally stable emission at 478 nm and the prolonged operational lifetime. 3D perovskites with low energy disorder and high ambipolar charge mobility represent a promising solution for efficient and bright light-emitting diodes. However, the challenges of regulating the nanocrystal size to trigger the quantum confinement effect and control the surface trap states to reduce charge loss hinder the applications of 3D perovskites in blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). In this study, we present a top-down exfoliation method to obtain blue 3D perovskite films with clipped nanocrystals and tunable bandgaps by employing methyl cyanide (MeCN) for post-treatment. In this method, the MeCN solvent exfoliates the surface components of the 3D perovskite grains through a partial dissolution process. Moreover, the dissolved precursor can be further utilized to construct an ingenious 2D/3D heterostructure by incorporating an organic spacer into the MeCN solvent, contributing to efficient defect passivation and improved energy transfer. Consequently, efficient PeLEDs featuring ultrapure blue emission at 478 nm achieve a record external quantum efficiency of 12.3% among their 3D counterparts. This work emphasizes the significance of inducing the quantum confinement effect in 3D perovskites for efficient blue PeLEDs and provides a viable scheme for the in situ regulation of perovskite crystals.

Tin halide perovskites are an appealing alternative to lead perovskites. However, owing to the lower redox potential of Sn(II)/Sn(IV), particularly under the presence of oxygen and water, the accumulation of Sn(IV) at the surface layer will negatively impact the device's performance and stability. To this end, this work has introduced a novel multifunctional molecule, 1,4-phenyldimethylammonium dibromide diamine (phDMADBr), to form a protective layer on the surface of Sn-based perovskite films. Strong interactions between phDMADBr and the perovskite surface improve electron transfer, passivating uncoordinated Sn(II), and fortify against water and oxygen. In situ grazing incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering (GIWAXS) analysis confirms the enhanced thermal stability of the quasi-2D phase, and hence the overall enhanced stability of the perovskite. Long-term stability in devices is achieved, retaining over 90% of the original efficiency for more than 200 hours in a 10% RH moisture N 2 environment. Fluoro-substituted aromatic alkylammonium spacer cations are found effective to improve the performance of quasi-2D perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). The fluorine substitution is generally attributed to the defect passivation, quantum well width control, and energy level adjustments. However, the substituted cations can also affect the crystallization process but is not thoroughly studied. Herein, a comparison study is carried out using bare PEA cation and three different fluoro-substituted PEA (x-F-PEA, x = o, ortho; m, meta; p, para) cations to investigate the impacts of different substitution sites on the perovskite crystallization and orientations. By using GIWAXS, p-F-PEA cation is found to induce the strongest preferential out-of-plane orientations with the best crystallinity in quasi-2D perovskite. Using dynamic light scattering (DLS) methods, larger colloidal particles (630 nm) are revealed in p-F-PEA precursor solutions than the PEA cations (350 nm). The larger particles can accelerate the crystallization process and induce out-of-plane orientation from increased dipole-dipole interaction. The transient absorption measurement confirms longer radiative recombination lifetime, proving beneficial effect of p-F-PEA cation. As a result, the fabricated p-F-PEA-based PeLEDs achieved the highest EQE of 15.2%, which is higher than those of PEA- (8.8%), o-F-PEA- (4.3%), and m-F-PEA-based (10.3%) PeLEDs., (© 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH.)

Perovskite solar cells with the formula FA 1-x Cs x PbI 3 , where FA is formamidinium, provide an attractive option for integrating high efficiency, durable stability and compatibility with scaled-up fabrication. Despite the incorporation of Cs cations, which could potentially enable a perfect perovskite lattice 1,2 , the compositional inhomogeneity caused by A-site cation segregation is likely to be detrimental to the photovoltaic performance of the solar cells 3,4 . Here we visualized the out-of-plane compositional inhomogeneity along the vertical direction across perovskite films and identified the underlying reasons for the inhomogeneity and its potential impact for devices. We devised a strategy using 1-(phenylsulfonyl)pyrrole to homogenize the distribution of cation composition in perovskite films. Multimodal images such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) could provide complementary information about the brain and have been widely investigated for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, multimodal brain images are often incomplete in clinical practice. It is still challenging to make use of multimodality for disease diagnosis with missing data. In this paper, we propose a deep learning framework with the multi-level guided generative adversarial network (MLG-GAN) and multimodal transformer (Mul-T) for incomplete image generation and disease classification, respectively. First, MLG-GAN is proposed to generate the missing data, guided by multi-level information from voxels, features, and tasks. In addition to voxel-level supervision and task-level constraint, a feature-level auto-regression branch is proposed to embed the features of target images for an accurate generation. With the complete multimodal images, we propose a Mul-T network for disease diagnosis, which can not only combine the global and local features but also model the latent interactions and correlations from one modality to another with the cross-modal attention mechanism. A levitated nonspherical nanoparticle in a vacuum is ideal for studying quantum rotations and is an ultrasensitive torque detector for probing fundamental particle-surface interactions. Here, we optically levitate a silica nanodumbbell in a vacuum at 430 nm away from a sapphire surface and drive it to rotate at GHz frequencies. The relative linear speed between the tip of the nanodumbbell and the surface reaches 1.4 km s -1 at a submicrometer separation. The rotating nanodumbbell near the surface demonstrates a torque sensitivity of (5.0 ± 1.1) × 10 -26 N m Hz -1/2 at room temperature. Moreover, we probed the near-field laser intensity distribution beyond the optical diffraction limit with a nanodumbbell levitated near a nanograting. Our numerical simulations show that the system can measure the Casimir torque and will improve the detection limit of non-Newtonian gravity by several orders of magnitude.

Deep learning has been widely investigated in brain image computational analysis for diagnosing brain diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). Most of the existing methods built end-to-end models to learn discriminative features by group-wise analysis. However, these methods cannot detect pathological changes in each subject, which is essential for the individualized interpretation of disease variances and precision medicine. In this article, we propose a brain status transferring generative adversarial network (BrainStatTrans-GAN) to generate corresponding healthy images of patients, which are further used to decode individualized brain atrophy. The BrainStatTrans-GAN consists of generator, discriminator, and status discriminator. First, a normative GAN is built to generate healthy brain images from normal controls. However, it cannot generate healthy images from diseased ones due to the lack of paired healthy and diseased images. To address this problem, a status discriminator with adversarial learning is designed in the training process to produce healthy brain images for patients. Then, the residual between the generated and input images can be computed to quantify pathological brain changes. Finally, a residual-based multi-level fusion network (RMFN) is built for more accurate disease diagnosis. Compared to the existing methods, our method can model individualized brain atrophy for facilitating disease diagnosis and interpretation. Experimental results on T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data of 1,739 subjects from three datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Formamidinium (FA)-based 2D perovskites have emerged as highly promising candidates in solar cells. However, the insertion of 2D spacer cations into the perovskite lattice concomitantly introduces microstrain and unfavorable orientations that hinder efficiency and stability. In this study, by finely tuning the FA-based 2D perovskite lattice through spacer cation engineering, a stable lattice structure with balanced distortion, microstrain relaxation, and reduced carrier-lattice interactions is achieved. These advancements effectively stabilize the inherently soft lattice against light and thermal-aging stress. To reduce the photocurrent loss induced by undesired crystal texture, a polarity-matched molecular-type selenourea (SENA) additive is further employed to modulate the crystallization kinetics. The introduction of the SENA significantly inhibits the disordered crystallization induced by spacer cations and drives the templated growth of the quantum well structure with a vertical orientation. This controlled crystallization process effectively reduces crystal defects and enhances charge separation. Ultimately, the optimized FA-based perovskite photovoltaic devices achieve a remarkable power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.03% (certified steady-state efficiency of 19.30%), setting a new record for low-n 2D perovskite solar cells. Furthermore, the devices exhibit less than 1% efficiency degradation after operating at maximum power point for 1000 h and maintain excellent stability after thermal aging and cycles of cold-warm shock, respectively., (© 2023 The Authors. Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have achieved encouraging progress in modeling human body skeletons as spatial-temporal graphs. However, existing methods still suffer from two inherent drawbacks. Firstly, these models process the input data based on the physical structure of the human body, which leads to some latent correlations among joints being ignored. Furthermore, the key temporal relationships between nonadjacent frames are overlooked, preventing to fully learn the changes of the body joints along the temporal dimension. To address these issues, we propose an innovative spatial-temporal model by introducing a self-adaptive GCN (SAGCN) with global attention network, collectively termed SAGGAN. Specifically, the SAGCN module is proposed to construct two additional dynamic topological graphs to learn the common characteristics of all data and represent a unique pattern for each sample, respectively. Meanwhile, the global attention module (spatial attention (SA) and temporal attention (TA) modules) is designed to extract the global connections between different joints in a single frame and model temporal relationships between adjacent and nonadjacent frames in temporal sequences. In this manner, our network can capture richer features of actions for accurate action recognition and overcome the defect of the standard graph convolution. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets (NTU-60, NTU-120, and Kinetics) have demonstrated the superiority of our proposed method.

This study evaluated the association between prenatal depression and offspring autism-related traits. The sample comprised 33 prenatal/pediatric cohorts participating in the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes program who contributed information on prenatal depression and autism-related traits. Autism-related traits were assessed continuously and at the diagnostic cut-off using the Social Responsiveness Scale for children up to 12 years of age. Main analyses included 3994 parent-child pairs with prenatal depression diagnoses data; secondary analyses included 1730 parent-child pairs with depression severity data. After confounder adjustment, we observed an increase in autism-related traits among children of individuals with prenatal depression compared to those without (adjusted β = 1.31 95% CI: 0.65, 1.98). Analyses stratified by child sex documented a similar significant association among boys (aβ = 1.34 95%CI: 0.36, 2.32) and girls (aβ = 1.26 95% CI: 0.37, 2.15). Prenatal depression was also associated with increased odds of moderate to severe autism-related traits (adjusted odds ratio: 1.64, 95%CI: 1.09, 2.46), the screening threshold considered high risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. Findings highlight the importance of prenatal depression screening and preventive interventions for children of pregnant individuals with depression to support healthy development. Deep neural networks have been successfully investigated in the computational analysis of structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) data for the diagnosis of dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). The disease-related changes in sMRI may be different in local brain regions, which have variant structures but with some correlations. In addition, aging increases the risk of dementia. However, it is still challenging to capture the local variations and long-range correlations of different brain regions and make use of the age information for disease diagnosis. To address these problems, we propose a hybrid network with multi-scale attention convolution and aging transformer for AD diagnosis. First, to capture the local variations, a multi-scale attention convolution is proposed to learn the feature maps with multi-scale kernels, which are adaptively aggregated by an attention module. Then, to model the long-range correlations of brain regions, a pyramid non-local block is used on the high-level features to learn more powerful features. Finally, we propose an aging transformer subnetwork to embed the age information into image features and capture the dependencies between subjects at different ages. The proposed method can learn not only the subject-specific rich features but also the inter-subject age correlations in an end-to-end framework. Our method is evaluated with T1-weighted sMRI scans from a large cohort of subjects on the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) database. Experimental results demonstrate that our method has achieved promising performance for AD-related diagnosis.

4-Methylquinoline (4-MQ) is a quinoline derivative widely present in groundwater and soil and has been reported to be genotoxic. The mechanisms of the toxic action remain unknown. This study aimed to elucidate the metabolic activation of 4-MQ and to determine the possible role of reactive metabolites in 4-MQ-induced liver injury in rats. In the present study, a hydroxylation metabolite (M1), a GSH conjugate (M2) and an NAC conjugate (M3) derived from 4-MQ were detected in vitro and in vivo. The structures of the two conjugates were verified by chemical synthesis, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance. CYP3A4 was found to dominate the hydroxylation of 4-MQ. Sulfotransferases also participated in the metabolic activation of 4-MQ. Pretreatment of primary hepatocytes with ketoconazole (KTC) or 2,6-dichloro-4-nitrophenol (DCNP) not only reduced the production of GSH conjugate M2 but also decreased the susceptibility of hepatocytes to the cytotoxicity of 4-MQ. Metal halide perovskite materials have demonstrated significant potential in various optoelectronic applications, such as photovoltaics, light emitting diodes, photodetectors, and lasers. However, the stability issues of perovskite materials continue to impede their widespread use. Many studies have attempted to understand the complex degradation mechanism and dynamics of these materials. Among them, in situ and/or operando approaches have provided remarkable insights into the degradation process by enabling precise control of degradation parameters and real-time monitoring. In this review, we focus on these studies utilizing in situ and operando approaches and demonstrate how these techniques have contributed to reveal degradation details, including structural, compositional, morphological, and other changes. We explore why these two approaches are necessary in the study of perovskite degradation and how they can be achieved by upgrading the corresponding ex situ techniques. With recent stability improvements of halide perovskite using various methods (compositional engineering, surface engineering, and structural engineering), the degradation of halide perovskite materials is greatly retarded. However, these improvements may turn into new challenges during the investigation into the retarded degradation process. Therefore, we also highlight the importance of enhancing the sensitivity and probing range of current in situ and operando approaches to address this issue. Finally, we identify the challenges and future directions of in situ and operando approaches in the stability research of halide perovskites. We believe that the advancement of in situ and operando techniques will be crucial in supporting the journey toward enhanced perovskite stability.

Ionic liquid (IL) additives proved to have a positive effect on the device efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells. However, since ILs are small molecules and undergo Coulomb interactions, they can easily aggregate and evaporate over long times, which would cause instabilities during a long-term device operation. To overcome these problems, we polymerize ILs into macromolecules and incorporate them into perovskite films as well as into the corresponding solar cells. Both cations and anions of the used poly[1-(2-acryloylethyl)-3-methylimidazolium] bis (trifluoromethane) sulfonamides (PAEMI-TFSIs) are designed to coordinate with the Pb and I of PbI 6 2- octahedra, respectively, which changes the crystallization behavior of the perovskite films. Importantly, the PAEMI-TFSI efficiently passivates electronic defects on the grain boundaries and thereby enhances the charge-carrier transport in the perovskite film. As a result, PAEMI-TFSI-modified MAPbI 3 solar cells show a high power conversion efficiency of 22.4% and an excellent storage stability (92% of the initial efficiency remains after 1200 h operation in a nitrogen atmosphere for nonencapsulated devices).

Optically active spin defects in van der Waals materials are promising platforms for modern quantum technologies. Here we investigate the coherent dynamics of strongly interacting ensembles of negatively charged boron-vacancy ([Formula: see text]) centers in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) with varying defect density. By employing advanced dynamical decoupling sequences to selectively isolate different dephasing sources, we observe more than 5-fold improvement in the measured coherence times across all hBN samples. Crucially, we identify that the many-body interaction within the [Formula: see text] ensemble plays a substantial role in the coherent dynamics, which is then used to directly estimate the concentration of [Formula: see text]. We find that at high ion implantation dosage, only a small portion of the created boron vacancy defects are in the desired negatively charged state. Finally, we investigate the spin response of [Formula: see text] to the local charged defects induced electric field signals, and estimate its ground state transverse electric field susceptibility. The skin is the largest organ of the human body and the first line of defense against environmental hazards. Many factors, including internal factors such as natural aging and external factors such as ultraviolet radiation and air pollution, can lead to skin aging. Mitochondria provide sufficient energy to maintain the high-speed turnover capacity of the skin, so the quality control of mitochondria plays an indispensable role in this process. Mitochondrial dynamics, mitochondrial biogenesis and mitophagy are the key steps in mitochondrial quality surveillance. They are coordinated to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis and restore damaged mitochondrial function. All of the mitochondrial quality control processes are related to skin aging caused by various factors. Therefore, fine-tuning regulation of the above process is of great significance to the skin aging problem that needs to be solved urgently. This article mainly reviews the physiological and environmental factors causing skin aging, the effects of mitochondrial dynamics, mitochondrial biogenesis and mitophagy on skin aging, as well as their specific regulatory mechanisms. Both the uncoordinated Pb 2+ and excess PbI 2 in perovskite film will create defects and perturb carrier collection, thus leading to the open-circuit voltage (V OC ) loss and inducing rapid performance degradation of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, an additive of 3-aminothiophene-2-carboxamide (3-AzTca) that contains amide and amino and features a large molecular size is introduced to improve the quality of perovskite film. The interplay of size effect and adequate bonding strength between 3-AzTca and uncoordinated Pb 2+ regulates the mineralization of PbI 2 and generates low-dimensional PbI 2 phase, thereby boosting the crystallization of perovskite. The decreased defect states result in suppressed nonradiative recombination and reduced V OC loss. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of modified PSC is improved to 22.79% with a high V OC of 1.22 V. Moreover, the decomposition of PbI 2 and perovskite films is also retarded, yielding enhanced device stability. Perovskite crystal facets greatly impact the performance and stability of their corresponding photovoltaic devices. Compared to the (001) facet, the (011) facet yields better photoelectric properties, including higher conductivity and enhanced charge carrier mobility. Thus, achieving (011) facet-exposed films is a promising way to improve device performance. However, the growth of (011) facets is energetically unfavorable in FAPbI 3 perovskites due to the influence of methylammonium chloride additive. Here, 1-butyl-4-methylpyridinium chloride ([4MBP]Cl) was used to expose (011) facets. The [4MBP] + cation selectively decreases the surface energy of the (011) facet enabling the growth of the (011) plane. The [4MBP] + cation causes the perovskite nuclei to rotate by 45° such that (011) crystal facets stack along the out-of-plane direction. The (011) facet has excellent charge transport properties and can achieve better-matched energy level alignment. In addition, [4MBP]Cl increases the activation energy barrier for ion migration, suppressing decomposition of the perovskite. As a result, a small-size device (0.06 cm 2 ) and a module (29.0 cm 2 ) based on exposure of the (011) facet achieved power conversion efficiencies of 25.24% and 21.12%, respectively., (© 2023. The thermodynamic stability of uranium hydrides is of broad interest and fundamental importance for understanding the hydriding corrosion of uranium, and the storage and isotope separation of hydrogen. Based on the first-principles calculations, we reveal the initial decomposition mechanism, interpret the experimental pyrolysis results, and discuss the inverse effects of temperature and hydrogen pressure ( P H 2 ) on the thermodynamic stability of β-UH 3 . The decomposition mechanism of β-UH 3 is found to be closely related to the changes of U-H bonding properties in UH 12 cages. Specifically, at the beginning it is difficult to break the first U-H covalent bond in each UH 12 cage, which brings in the existence of a concave region in the experimental P H 2 - C - T curve; however, it boosts the itinerant character of U-5f electrons. Thereafter, the formation energy of H-vacancies in the degraded UH 11 cages is almost changeless when the H/U atom ratio decreases, resulting in the van't Hoff plateau of the P H 2 - C - T curve. Based on the above mechanisms, we propose a theoretical method to evaluate the thermodynamic stability of β-UH 3 . The calculated P H 2 - C - T curve is consistent with experiment, showing that temperature promotes β-UH 3 decomposition and P H 2 plays an opposite role. Moreover, this method is independent of experimental calibration and is applied to discuss the isotope effect of hydrogen in β-UH 3 . This work provides new insight and a practical method for the scientific studies of uranium hydride, which is also essential to industrial applications in hydrogen isotope separation.

Fermented sausage is popular with many consumers because of its distinctive flavor, but the safety of it has attracted widespread attention. At present, nitrite is widely used in fermented meat products because of its ideal color and bacteriostatic effect, but nitrite can be transformed into nitrosamines, which cause strong carcinogenic effects. Therefore, it is urgent to actively explore safe and efficient nitrite substitutes. In this study, cranberry powder was selected as a natural substitute for nitrite during the production of fermented sausage due to its unique antioxidant and bacteriostatic properties. The results showed that adding an appropriate amount of cranberry powder (5 g/kg) promoted a better color of the fermented sausage and promoted the accumulation of aromatic compounds. Furthermore, Pediococcus and Staphylococcus became the dominant species, accounting for more than 90% in all samples. According to the Pearson correlation analysis, Staphylococcus and Pediococcus had positive effects on the quality characteristics of fermented sausage products. Due to their low cost and simplified production process, electron-transport-layer-free (ETL-free) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted great attention recently. However, the performance of ETL-free PSCs is still at a disadvantage compared to cells with a conventional n-i-p structure due to the severe recombination of charge carriers at the perovskite/anode interface. Here, we report a strategy to fabricate stable ETL-free FAPbI 3 PSCs by in situ formation of a low dimensional perovskite layer between the FTO and the perovskite. This interlayer gives rise to the energy band bending and reduced defect density in the perovskite film and indirect contact and improved energy level alignment between the anode and perovskite, which facilitates charge carrier transport and collection and suppresses charge carrier recombination. As a result, ETL-free PSCs with a power conversion efficiency (PCE) exceeding 22% are achieved under ambient conditions.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most frequent renal malignancy in the world, and its incidence is increasing year by year. RCC is a well-known drug resistant tumor, and the treatment methods are limited. Most patients with RCC are discovered at the advanced stage, and thus have poor prognosis even after treatment. Therefore, it is very urgent to find new markers for the diagnosis and treatment of RCC. Accumulating evidence shows that lncRNAs participate in the occurrence and progression of RCC, which is achieved by the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA axis. It is widely known that metabolic defect is an essential pathogenesis in RCC. As is the case with other tumors, RCC can satisfy the demands of cancerous cells for uncontrolled proliferation through aerobic glycolysis. However, whether lncRNAs can modulate RCC progression through metabolic pathway is still not clarified. Taken together, this review mainly summarized the metabolic regulatory mechanisms of lncRNAs in RCC progression, especially their roles in glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, amino acid metabolism and mitochondrial dynamics, as well as the clinical applications of lncRNAs via targeting metabolism in RCC therapy. Importance: Preeclampsia, gestational hypertension, and gestational diabetes, the most common pregnancy complications, are associated with substantial morbidity and mortality in mothers and children. Little is known about the biological processes that link the occurrence of these pregnancy complications with adverse child outcomes; altered biological aging of the growing fetus up to birth is one molecular pathway of increasing interest., Objective: To evaluate whether exposure to each of these 3 pregnancy complications (gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, and preeclampsia) is associated with accelerated or decelerated gestational biological age in children at birth., Design, Setting, and Participants: Children included in these analyses were born between 1998 and 2018 and spanned multiple geographic areas of the US. Pregnancy complication information was obtained from maternal self-report and/or medical record data. DNA methylation measures were obtained from blood biospecimens collected from offspring at birth. The study used data from the national Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) multisite cohort study collected and recorded as of the August 31, 2021, data lock date. Data analysis was performed from September 2021 to December 2022., Exposures: Three pregnancy conditions were examined: gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes., Main Outcomes and Measures: Accelerated or decelerated biological gestational age at birth, estimated using existing epigenetic gestational age clock algorithms., Results: A total of 1801 child participants (880 male [48.9%]; median [range] chronological gestational age at birth, 39 [30-43] weeks) from 12 ECHO cohorts met the analytic inclusion criteria. Reported races included Asian (49 participants [2.7%]), Black (390 participants [21.7%]), White (1026 participants [57.0%]), and other races (92 participants [5.1%]) (ie, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, multiple races, and other race not specified). In total, 524 participants (29.0%) reported Hispanic ethnicity. Maternal ages ranged from 16 to 45 years of age with a median of 29 in the analytic sample. A range of maternal education levels, from less than high school (260 participants [14.4%]) to Bachelor's degree and above (629 participants [34.9%]), were reported. In adjusted regression models, prenatal exposure to maternal gestational diabetes (β, -0.423; 95% CI, -0.709 to -0.138) and preeclampsia (β, -0.513; 95% CI, -0.857 to -0.170), but not gestational hypertension (β, 0.003; 95% CI, -0.338 to 0.344), were associated with decelerated epigenetic aging among exposed neonates vs those who were unexposed. Modification of these associations, by sex, was observed with exposure to preeclampsia (β, -0.700; 95% CI, -1.189 to -0.210) and gestational diabetes (β, -0.636; 95% CI, -1.070 to -0.200), with associations observed among female but not male participants., Conclusions and Relevance: This US cohort study of neonate biological changes related to exposure to maternal pregnancy conditions found evidence that preeclampsia and gestational diabetes delay biological maturity, especially in female offspring.

Daily temperature variations induce phase transitions and lattice strains in halide perovskites, challenging their stability in solar cells. We stabilized the perovskite black phase and improved solar cell performance using the ordered dipolar structure of β-poly(1,1-difluoroethylene) to control perovskite film crystallization and energy alignment. We demonstrated p-i-n perovskite solar cells with a record power conversion efficiency of 24.6% over 18 square millimeters and 23.1% over 1 square centimeter, which retained 96 and 88% of the efficiency after 1000 hours of 1-sun maximum power point tracking at 25° and 75°C, respectively. Devices under rapid thermal cycling between -60° and +80°C showed no sign of fatigue, demonstrating the impact of the ordered dipolar structure on the operational stability of perovskite solar cells.

The negatively charged boron vacancy (V B - ) defect in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) with optically addressable spin states has emerged due to its potential use in quantum sensing. Remarkably, V B - preserves its spin coherence when it is implanted at nanometer-scale distances from the hBN surface, potentially enabling ultrathin quantum sensors. However, its low quantum efficiency hinders its practical applications. Studies have reported improving the overall quantum efficiency of V B - defects with plasmonics; however, the overall enhancements of up to 17 times reported to date are relatively modest. Here, we demonstrate much higher emission enhancements of V B - with low-loss nanopatch antennas (NPAs). An overall intensity enhancement of up to 250 times is observed, corresponding to an actual emission enhancement of ∼1685 times by the NPA, along with preserved optically detected magnetic resonance contrast. Our results establish NPA-coupled V B - defects as high-resolution magnetic field sensors and provide a promising approach to obtaining single V B - defects.

Organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved great attention due to their expressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) up to 25.7%. To improve the photovoltaic performance of PSCs, interface engineering between the perovskite and hole transport layer (HTL) is a widely used strategy. Following this concept, benzyl trimethyl ammonium chlorides (BTACls) are used to modify the wet chemical processed perovskite film in this work. The BTACl-induced low dimensional perovskite is found to have a bilayer structure, which efficiently decreases the trap density and improves the energy level alignment at the perovskite/HTL interface. As a result, the BTACl-modified PSCs show an improved PCE compared to the control devices. From device modeling, the reduced charge carrier recombination and promoted charge carrier transfer at the perovskite/HTL interface are the cause of the open-circuit (V oc ) and fill factor (FF) improvement, respectively. Part cleaning is very important for the assembly of precision machinery. After cleaning, the parts are randomly distributed in the collection area, which makes it difficult for a robot to collect them. Common robots can only collect parts located in relatively fixed positions, and it is difficult to adapt these robots to collect at randomly distributed positions. Therefore, a rapid part classification method based on a non-pooling YOLOv5 network for the recognition of randomly distributed multiple types of parts is proposed in this paper; this method classifies parts from their two-dimensional images obtained using industrial cameras. We compared the traditional and non-pooling YOLOv5 networks under different activation functions. Experimental results showed that the non-pooling YOLOv5 network improved part recognition precision by 8% and part recall rate by 3% within 100 epochs of training, which helped improve the part classification efficiency. The experiment showed that the non-pooling YOLOv5 network exhibited improved classification of industrial parts compared to the traditional YOLOv5 network.

In vitro expansion-mediated replicative senescence has severely limited the clinical applications of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Accumulating studies manifested that nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD + ) depletion is closely related to stem cell senescence and mitochondrial metabolism disorder. Promoting NAD + level is considered as an effective way to delay aging. Previously, we have confirmed that nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), a precursor of NAD + , can alleviate NAD + deficiency-induced MSC senescence. However, whether NMN can attenuate MSC senescence and its underlying mechanisms are still incompletely clear. The present study herein showed that late passage (LP) MSCs displayed lower NAD + content, reduced Sirt3 expression and mitochondrial dysfunction. NMN supplementation leads to significant increase in intracellular NAD + level, NAD + / NADH ratio, Sirt3 expression, as well as ameliorated mitochondrial function and rescued senescent MSCs. Additionally, Sirt3 over-expression relieved mitochondrial dysfunction, and retrieved senescence-associated phenotypic features in LP MSCs. Conversely, inhibition of Sirt3 activity via a selective Sirt3 inhibitor 3-TYP in early passage (EP) MSCs resulted in aggravated cellular senescence and abnormal mitochondrial function. Furthermore, NMN administration also improves 3-TYP-induced disordered mitochondrial function and cellular senescence in EP MSCs. Collectively, NMN replenishment alleviates mitochondrial dysfunction and rescues MSC senescence through mediating NAD + /Sirt3 pathway, possibly providing a novel mechanism for MSC senescence and a promising strategy for anti-aging pharmaceuticals.
