Hierarchically porous monoliths with satisfactory properties have been employed in diverse fields, especially separation. In this study, pentafluorophenyl acrylate (PFPA), pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PETA) and trimethylolpropane tris(3-mercaptopropionate) (TTMP) were selected as precursors to fabricate a novel monolithic column by thermally initiated polymerization in the presence of a binary porogenic system containing tetrahydrofuran and 1-propanol. The fabricated poly(PFPA-co-PETA-co-TTMP) monolithic column revealed excellent permeability and mechanical stability. Additionally, baseline separation of the mixture of small molecules can be achieved, involving alkylbenzene and fluorobenzene in chromatographic assessment, and the theoretical plate number is up to 60,500 plates/m for butylbenzene with a linear velocity of 0.14 mm/s. Tryptic digest of HeLa as an analyte was used to investigate the possibility of the poly(PFPA-co-PETA-co-TTMP) monolith in biological separation by cLC-MS/MS. Moreover, benefiting from the existence of pentafluorophenyl groups, the cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) could be modified on the prepared poly(PFPA-co-PETA-co-TTMP) monolith through host-guest interaction to obtain poly(PFPA-co-PETA-co-TTMP)-CB[8] monolith. It could be observed that significant changes in retention behavior of analytes appeared after immobilizing CB[8] on the monolith. Lithium-ion batteries with Ni-rich cathode and flammable carbonate electrolytes are breeding severe safety concerns which hinds their application in electric vehicles. Herein, by introducing the fluorobenzene (FB) with low-density and low-cost as a cosolvent and bridge solvents in triethyl phosphate (TEP)-based diluted high-concentration electrolytes (DHCEs) system, we design a non-flammable electrolyte with a special solvation structure containing internal-external flame retardants. This non-flammable electrolyte not only solves successfully the incompatibility problem of TEP-based electrolyte to the Li-metal anode (LMA) and the graphite (Gr) anode, but also ensures the stable cycling of Li||LiNi 0.7 Co 0 . 1 Mn 0 . 2 O 2 (86% capacity retention after 120 cycles) and Gr|| LiNi 0.7 Co 0 . 1 Mn 0 . 2 O 2 (75% capacity retention after 200 cycles) full cells. The monitoring of Na + ions distributed in the body has been indirectly calculated by the detection of Na + ions in urine. We fabricated a two-dimensional (2D) Na + ion sensor using a graphene ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (G-ISFET) and used fluorinated graphene as a reference electrode (FG-RE). We integrated G-ISFET and FG on a printed circuit board (PCB) designed in the form of a secure digital (SD) card to fabricate a disposable Na + ion sensor. The sensitivity of the PCB tip to Na + ions was determined to be -55.4 mV/dec. The sensor exhibited good linearity despite the presence of interfering ions in the buffer solution. We expanded the evaluation of the PCB tip to real human patient urine samples. The PCB tip exhibited a sensitivity of -0.36 mV/mM and linearly detected Na + ions in human patient urine without any dilution process. We expect that G-ISFET with FG-RE can be used to realize a disposable Na + ion sensor by serving as an alternative to Ag/AgCl reference electrodes.

Molecular imaging significantly transforms the field of biomedical science and facilitates the visualization, characterization, and quantification of biologic processes. However, it is still challenging to monitor cell localization in vivo, which is essential to the study of tumor metastasis and in the development of cell-based therapies. While most conventional small-molecule fluorescent probes cannot afford durable cell labeling, transfection of cells with fluorescent proteins is limited by their fixed fluorescence, poor tissue penetration, and interference of autofluorescence background. Here, a bioresponsive near-infrared fluorescent probe is reported as facile and reliable tool for real-time cell tracking in vivo. The design of this probe relies on a new phenomenon observed upon fluorobenzene-conjugated fluorescent dyes, which can form complexes with cytosolic glutathione and actively translocates to lysosomes, exhibiting enhanced and stable cell labeling. Fluorobenzene-coupled hemicyanine, a near-infrared fluorophore manifests to efficiently staining tumor cells without affecting their invasive property and enables persistent monitoring of cell migration in metastatic tumor murine models at high resolution for one week. The method of fluorobenzene functionalization also provides a simple and universal "add-on" strategy to render ordinary fluorescent probes suitable for long-term live-cell tracking, for which currently there is a deficit of suitable molecular tools., (© 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The oxidative addition of a range of robust aryl C-F bonds to a single Al(I) center supported by a (NacNac) - bidentate ligand ((NacNac) - = [ArNC(Me)CHC(Me)NAr] - and Ar = 2,6- Pr 2 i C 6 H 3 ) have been explored by density functional theory calculations. Our calculations demonstrate that the Al(I) center-mediated C-F insertion generally proceeds via the concerted mechanism that involve both the donation ( n Al → σ C - F * ) and back-donation ( σ F ( p ) → π Al ( p ) * ) interactions. In addition, the predicted free energy barriers for the C-F bond activation show good agreement with the experimental information available. Finally, the comparative studies show that B(I) is the most active among group III metals (B, Al, Ga), thus supplying a testable prediction for experiments.
