Few studies have shown that radial artery (RA), which is used as a secondary arterial graft, offers superior results compared with right internal thoracic artery (RIMA) in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). In a meta-analysis of observational studies starting in 2023, we looked at the effect of re-operation on postoperative infection and haemorrhage in CABG with RA vs. RIMA. The electronic database up to October 2023 was examined in the course of the research. Analysis was carried out on the clinical trials of postoperative wound infections and haemorrhage re-surgery. Among 912 trials associated with CABG, we selected 8 trials to be included in the final data analysis. The main results were secondary wound infection and re-operation after surgery. The odds ratios (OR) and confidence intervals (CIs) were computed on the basis of a randomized or fixed-effect model of wound infection and re-operation. Seven trials showed a significant reduction in the risk of wound infection in RA treated as a secondary artery transplant compared with RIMA (OR, 1.60; 95% CI, 1.03, 2.47 p = 0.04); Four trials showed that RIMA was not significantly different from RA in the rate of re-operation for postoperative bleeding (OR, 1.31; 95% CI, 0.60, 2.88 p = 0.50). The developed karst caves may become the seepage channels of heavy metal to the soil and underground water in Southwest China. Therefore, it is necessary to apply effective seepage treatments to the base of heavy metal tailing reservoirs. This paper addressed the high-pressure rotary jet technology and slurry systems used in the seepage treatment of the deep tailing sand of the Shenxiandong tailing pond located in Southwest China. In this study, the factors of fluidity, initial and final setting times, compressive strength, and permeability coefficient of the slurry were conducted. The mechanism analysis was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Three different types of slurry systems were proposed, and the permeability coefficients of the solidification body following 28 days of curing were less than 1 × 10 -7 cm/s. The concentrations of Pb and Zn in the slurry system containing bentonite were reduced by 26.2% and 45.7%, respectively. In the presence of slaked lime and fly ash, the concentrations of Pb and Zn could be reduced by 26.8% and 30%, respectively. A total of 2142 high-pressure rotary jet piles were completed by the high-pressure rotary jet method in the field trial. The diffusion radius of these piles was over 1 m. Following 28 days of curing, the solidification body's compressive strength was 7.45 MPa and the permeability coefficient was 6.27 × 10 -8 cm/s. Both the laboratory and on-site trials showed that this method produced a good pollution barrier effect, which could prevent the diffusion of heavy metal into the adjacent underground water through the karst caves. It is also an effective way of engineering technology concerning heavy metal pollution control that occurs in tailing ponds.

Fe-loaded biochar (FeBC) has been considered for Sb(III) adsorption, but the effects of oxygen (O 2 ) on the adsorption need further investigation. Liquid-/solid-phase analyses were conducted to investigate the role of O 2 in the Sb(III) adsorption by FeBC. The adsorption was best described by the pseudo-second-order (PSO) model for kinetic results and by the Langmuir model for thermodynamic results. More than 96.8 % of Sb(III) was adsorbed by FeBC, and available O 2 increased the liquid-phase Sb(III) oxidation efficiency by 2.1-7.5 times. The peak changes at ~1640 and 3450 cm -1 in FTIR spectra indicated the occurrence of inner-sphere complexation between Sb(III)/Sb(V) and hydroxyl (-OH)/carboxyl (-COOH) groups in FeBC under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Fe/Sb X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) analysis results showed aqueous Sb(III) complexed to the edge-sharing Fe(III)-O-Fe(III) in FeBC. Regardless of whether O 2 was available or not, solid-phase edge-sharing Fe(III)-O-Sb(V) complexes (~3.05 Å), which had lower toxicity and migration ability than aqueous Sb(III), formed through a ligand-to-metal charge-transfer (LMCT) process. More than 91 % of adsorbed Sb(III) was oxidized to edge-sharing Fe(III)-O-Sb(V) complexes in 3 h. Additionally, the Sb(V) from liquid-phase oxidation could also directly complex to the Fe(III)-O-Fe(III) and form edge-sharing Fe(III)-O-Sb(V) complexes. The dissimilatory Fe(III)-reducing bacteria play a significant role in the mobility of antimony (Sb) under reducing environment. Sb-rich smelting slag is iron (Fe)-containing antimonic mine waste, which is one of the main sources of antimony pollution. In this study, the soluble antimony reacted with Fe(III) by S. oneidensis (Shewanella oneidensis strain MR-1) was performed in reduction condition, then the dissolution behavior of the Sb-rich smelting slag with S. oneidensis was investigated. The results showed that the released Sb was immobilized by S. oneidensis and the strain adsorbed Sb(III) preferentially. Sb(V) can be reduced by S. oneidensis without aqueous Fe. In the presence of Fe(III), S. oneidensis mediated Sb bio-adsorption and the chemical redox of Sb-Fe occurred simultaneously. Sb was co-precipitated with Fe to form the Sb(V)-O-Fe(III) secondary mineral, which was identified as the bidentate mononuclear edge-sharing structure by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis. These results suggest that S. oneidensis has a positive effect on the immobilization and minimizing toxicity of antimony in anoxic soil and groundwater, which provides a theoretical basis for the treatment of antimony contamination., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
