Background: Over the past 15 years, WORLD NEUROSURGERY (WN) has emerged as a pivotal source in the neurosurgery field, reflecting remarkable growth and development. Originally published as Surgical Neurology from 1973 to 2009, the journal transitioned to its current title in 2010, significantly expanding its reach and influence., Methods: A comprehensive bibliometric analysis of WN's publications from 1973 to 2023 was performed. The analysis focused on identifying the top authors, universities, countries, and sponsors in 2 periods: 1973-2009 and 2010-2023. Additionally, the study included a detailed examination of the top 1000 most cited papers, and summary of top 10 most cited papers., Results: The analysis revealed that during the Surgical Neurology period, 6567 research documents were published, including 6503 articles and 64 reviews. Since rebranding as WN, the journal has published an additional 17,663 documents, comprising 15,366 articles and 2297 reviews up to 2023. The top contributors (authors, universities, and sponsors) were identified, and the study found that WN has successfully increased its foothold across various continents. The co-word analysis provided insights into the thematic focus of the top 1000 most cited papers, categorizing them into 15 distinct areas., Conclusions: This study underscores WN's significant role in advancing neurosurgical research over the past 5 null decades. Background: Oral cancer (OC) is a multifactorial disease that affects the oral cavity. The mortality rate is approximately 50 % and a high percentage of patients are diagnosed in advanced stages. Early diagnosis has been well demonstrated to improve overall survival, mainly when detected at a localized stage. Non-invasive techniques can help identify malignant features in real time, thus improving the path to diagnosis. This study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 articles cited on diagnostic aids for oral cancer., Methods: Articles from 2000 to 2023 in Scopus were scanned using five OC topic titles crossed with 27 diagnostic aid keywords. Duplicate manuscripts were eliminated using Microsoft Excel software and publications were ranked according to their citation count. This study selected and analyzed the top 100 most cited English-language papers., Results: 86,676 citations were accumulated by the top 100 articles most cited. 2011 was the year with the highest number of publications with OC papers. The article with the most citations obtained a total of 30,832. The United States was the country with the most publications, with a total of 45, and UCLA was the institution with the most publications (7) among the top 100 most cited papers., Conclusions: This study identified the top 100 most cited articles on diagnostic aids for oral cancer. Background: A bibliometric analysis was performed to map the current status and development trends in medical research in Nepal. It aims to visualize research hotspots within this field and provide effective guidance for future research directions., Methods: A systematic search of the Scopus database was performed to identify high-cited papers (HCPs) on medical research in Nepal between January 1, 1994, and December 31, 2023. Bibliometrics techniques were applied to analyze the publication dates, countries, institutions, journals, authors, and research hotspots. Statistical analysis and visualization were carried output by MS-Excel and VOSviewer software., Results: A total of 326 HCPs were identified that have received 100 to 10719 citations and registered 223.05 Citations Per Paper (CPP). The 47.54% and 95.40% share of the 326 HCPs have received external funding support and are involved in international collaboration, respectively. The 15892 (417 from Nepal) authors, affiliated to 12830 (177 from Nepal) organizations and published in 138 journals participated in 326 HCPs from Nepal. USA (60.45% share) and India. (51.45% share) were the most collaborative countries, while Spain (1609.15 CPP) and Mexico (1597.08 CPP) made the largest citation impact in collaboration with Nepal. C.L. Ranabhat (n=27) and B. Sathian (n=26) were the most productive authors, while D. Acharya (3652.29 and 16.5), and S. Bhattarai (2880.11 and 13.01) registered the highest citation impact (CPP and RCI). Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu (n=72) and Nepal Health Research Council, Kathmandu (n=34) were the most productive organizations, while Kathmandu University (3652.29 and 16.5) and Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, Lalitpur (2941.67 and 13.29) registered the highest citation impact (CPP and RCI). The Lancet (n=75) and British Medical Journal (n=11) were the most productive journals, while The Lancet Neurology (1749.5 CPP), and The Lancet (1371.13 CPP) registered the highest average citations impact. B. Basnyat has the most citation as first author in health and medical research., Conclusions: The present study offers an overview of research characteristics and trends of medical research output in Nepal. It identifies main contributors, core journals, and significant subject topics. The study hopes to assist researchers and practitioners in comprehending the development and trends of medical research in Nepal and discovering potential directions for future research.

Objective: The aim was to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of meningioma research, focusing on publication trends, top authors, universities, countries, and thematic analysis of keywords., Methods: From Scopus databases, first we analyzed 23,180 papers (or 19,824 articles and 3356 reviews) published between 2001 and 2023. Second, we selected the top 100 most cited papers and descriptively analyzed on Vosviewer and R Studio (bibliometrix/biblioshiny)., Results: For both sets, we highlighted the annual publication trends and the impact of top-cited papers. We identified leading authors, universities, and countries contributing significantly to the field. Keyword analysis categorized research themes across all papers. Specific focus was given to the top 100 most cited documents in meningioma. Details about the annual number of papers, mean citations per year, and the citable years are provided. The top authors are presented by number of publications, citations, h-index, g-index, and m-index. Co-word analysis was performed, and the main focus of the 100 most cited papers are presented in more than 20 categories., Conclusions: Our findings may provide insights into the evolution of meningioma research and its scholarly impact. The analysis underscores the pivotal contributions of top authors and institutions, outlines thematic research trends, and highlights areas of significant interest and growth in the field. This study assessed the features of the 100 most-cited papers on diabetes mellitus (DM) in dentistry using bibliometric measures. A search of the most cited papers on DM using journals included in the category "Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Medicine" in the Web of Science database up to January 2023 was performed. The complete bibliographic records of the selected papers were exported in plain text or Research Information Systems (RIS) file format. The following bibliometric indicators were collected: title, year, authors, number of citations, mean number of citations, institution, country, continent, study design, journal, impact factor, and keywords. Graphical bibliometric networks were created using the VOSviewer software. The number of citations for the 100 most-cited papers in DM research ranged from 111 to 566. Six papers each had more than 400 citations. Most were observational studies (n = 50) from the United States (USA) (n = 23) and were published in the Journal of Periodontology (30%; n=30). Robert Genco was the most cited author and contributed the most to the top 100 articles (3,653 citations; n = 13). The VOSviewer map of co-authorship showed the existence of clusters in research collaboration. The most prolific institutions were the Universities of Buffalo and Michigan (n = 6 each). "Diabetes mellitus" was the most frequent keyword, with 31 occurrences. In conclusion, the most cited studies that investigated the relationship between dentistry and DM were in periodontology. Observational studies, primarily from the USA, have been the most cited thus far.

Objective: To analyze the characteristics of highly-cited papers in Chinese Journal of Epidemiology from 2020 to 2023, and provide a basis for subsequent paper solicitation and identify research hotspots. Methods: On December 9, 2023, the citation frequency of each paper in Chinese Journal of Epidemiology from 2020 to 2023 was obtained from China National Knowledge Infrastructure. The total citation frequency of each paper was sorted using Excel 2016 software, and papers with citation frequency ≥30 were extracted for analysis. The keywords of the papers and Contents in Brief were analyzed. Results: A total of 1 317 papers were included in the analysis, of which 389, 342, 308 and 278 papers were included from 2020 to 2023. The total citation frequency was 11 873, and all papers were cited with an average citation frequency of 9. The keywords with high citation frequency in the papers included 2019-nCoV, hypertension, colorectal tumor, hand-foot-mouth disease, hepatitis B. and the average frequency of citation were 162, 77, 62, 51 and 47, respectively. There were 15 highly cited Contents in Brief in total, 11 of which are vital Contents in Brief or unique Contents in Brief, including Response to COVID-19 Epidemic, China Kadoorie Biobank, Epidemiological Research on Infectious Diseases, Healthy Ageing, Colorectal Cancer Prevention and Control, Prevention and Control of Hepatitis B, Quality Assessment of Cancer Screening Guidelines and Consensus, The 40 th Anniversary of Chinese Journal of Epidemiology , Expert Forum, Review, Standard-Protocol-Guide. The total citation frequency was 3 951, accounting for 72.6% (3 951/5 438) of highly cited papers. Conclusions: In the past four years, the highly cited papers of this journal mainly focused on the research field of emerging infectious diseases and chronic diseases. The response to the 2019-nCoV epidemic highlights the academic leading role. The effect of selecting and planning a topic, commissioning authors to write on given topics and making an arrangement in advance with a subject for contribution to vital Contents in Brief or unique Contents in Brief of this journal is pronounced, and the academic influence of the journal continues to improve.

Objective: To assess the current trends in the field of artificial intelligence in medicine by analysing 100 most cited original articles relevant to the field., Methods: The bibliometric analysis was conducted in September 2022, and comprised literature search on Scopus database for original articles only. Google and Medical Subject Headings databases were used as resources to extract key words. In order to cover a broad range of articles, original studies comprising human as well as non-human subjects, studies without abstract and studies in languages other than English were part of the inclusion criteria. There was no specific time period applied to the search and no specific selection was done regarding the journals in the database. The screening was done using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines to extract the top 100 most cited articles in the field of artificial intelligence usage in medicine. Data was analysed using SPSS 23., Results: Of the 11,571 studies identified, 100(0.86%) were analysed in detail. The studies were published between 1986 and 2021, with a median of 43 citations (IQR 53) per article. The journal 'Artificial Intelligence in Medicine' accounted for the highest number 9(9%)) of articles, and the United States was the country of origin for most of the articles 36(36%)., Conclusion: The trends, development and shortcomings in field of artificial intelligence usage in medicine need to be understood to conduct an effective research in areas that still need attention, and to guide the authorities to direct their funding accordingly.

Introduction: Bibliometric analyses provide an aggregate of the most frequently cited literature in a given field. The purpose of this study was to analyze the top 100 most-cited classical and contemporary papers relating to elbow surgery to serve as a reference for surgeons and trainees for educational and research purposes., Methods: A search was conducted for all papers containing the term "elbow" in the categories Orthopedics, Surgery, and Sports Science in the Clarivate Web of Science. Classical papers were those published from 1980 to 2009, and contemporary papers were those published from 2010 to 2019. Articles were assessed by country of origin, authors and their credentials, parent journal, level of evidence, and topic., Results: Citation frequency ranged from 86 to 867. Among the classical group, there were more level IV papers compared with level I papers; however, the opposite was true in the contemporary group. The most common topic in the classical group was elbow anatomy and function, and the most common topic in the contemporary group was lateral epicondylitis and medial epicondylitis and associated therapies., Discussion: This bibliometric analysis serves to help guide surgeons and trainees on the highly cited articles and important topics in elbow surgery, demonstrating a shift to prospective randomized controlled trials in recent years., Level of Evidence: Level V (Systematic Review with Level V as Lowest LOE)., (Copyright © 2024 The Authors. Complex congenital heart disease (CCHD) is a group of heart defects present at birth. Some imaging methods can support the diagnosis of these pathologies, such as echocardiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. This study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 articles cited on CCHD. Articles from 2013 to 2023 found in Scopus were scanned using 15 CCHD topics titles crossed with echocardiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Duplicated manuscripts were eliminated using Microsoft Excel software, and the publications were ranked according to their citation count. This study selected and analyzed the top 100 most cited English-language papers. The top 100 most cited publications accumulated 16,563 citations. The manuscript with the most citations obtained 1086, representing 6.55% of the total citations. The year 2014 had the highest number of publications, with 27 papers. The first authors had affiliations from 44 countries; the United States was the country that contributed the most, with 54 manuscripts. Boston Children's Hospital was the institution that provided more articles to the top 100. Finally, the Ebstein anomaly was the topic with the highest number of citations. Cancer has been the major and increasing cause of premature death and years of life lost. Various studies suggested the correlation between the aging process and cancer genesis. To evaluate the performance of the articles and to identify and compare the top-cited articles on aging and cancer, a cross-sectional bibliometric analysis was performed. Top-cited articles that were indexed in the Core databases in Web of Science were utilized to identify articles published from inception to September 3, 2022. The top 100 most-cited articles on aging and cancer were evaluated for their specific characteristics. Both Microsoft Office Excel and Visual Basic for Applications were used to analyze the number of publications and scientific cooperations among authors over time. The query identified the top 100 most-cited articles from the 368,504 articles. The top cited articles accumulated 308,106 citations. The citations per article ranged from 39,141 to 1040. Thirty journals published these 100 articles, with the Ca-A Cancer Journal for Clinicians publishing the largest number. Most articles have focused on the trend analysis of incidence, survival outcomes, and prognosis of cancer from different origins. Co-authorship analysis revealed intense collaborative activity between United States authoritative academic institutions and scholars. The present study is the first to analyze most cited papers in "aging and cancer." The historical trends, current status, and future direction in the field of older patients with cancer are systematically summarized. Background: Numerous studies have explored the most productive and influential authors in a specific field. However, 2 challenges arise when conducting such research. First, some authors may have identical names in the study data, and second, the contributions of coauthors may vary in the article by line, requiring consideration. Failure to address these issues may result in biased research findings. Our objective was to illustrate how the author-weighted scheme (AWS) and betweenness centrality (BC) can be employed to identify the 10 most frequently cited authors in a particular journal and analyze their research themes., Methods: We collected 24,058 abstracts from the PubMed library between 2000 and 2020 using the keyword "Medicine [Journal]." Author names, countries/regions, and medical subject headings (MeSH terms) were collected. The AWS to identify the top 10 authors with a higher x-index was applied. To address the issue of authors with identical names affiliated with different research institutes, we utilized the BC method. Social network analysis (SNA) was conducted, and 10 major clusters were identified to highlight authors with a higher x-index within the corresponding clusters. We utilized SNA to analyze the MeSH terms from articles of the 10 top-cited authors to identify their research themes., Results: Our findings revealed the following: within the top 10 cited authors, 2 authors from China shared identical names with Jing Li and Tao-Wang; JA Winkelstein from Maryland (US) had the highest x-index (15.58); Chia-Hung Kao from Taiwan was the most prolific author, having published 115 articles in Medicine since 2003; and the 3 primary research themes, namely, complications, etiology, and epidemiology, were identified using MeSH terms from the 10 most frequently cited authors., Conclusions: Using AWS and BC, we identified the top 10 most cited authors. Background: The number of citations a paper receives reflects its impact on the scientific community. We aimed to identify and explore the characteristics of the most cited papers on total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC)., Methods: Web of Science Core Collection Expanded Science Citation Index (1900 to present) was searched and papers on TAPVC were reviewed. Articles were ranked by the number of citations and the 100 most cited papers were analyzed., Results: The 100 most cited papers were published between 1952 and 2018 with a mean number of citations of 52 (range 26 to 148). The 1990s was the most productive decade. All articles except one were written in English. The 100 most cited articles were published in 24 journals, led by Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (21 articles), followed by Annals of Thoracic Surgery (20 articles), and Circulation (16 articles). The United States of America contributed most of the 100 most cited papers (60 articles). Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto led the list of citation classics with six papers. Christopher A. Caldarone, John W. Kirklin, and P. E. F. Daubeney were the most productive authors with 3 articles each. More than half of the papers were cohort studies (51 articles). Surgery, radiology and etiology were the main topics. A growing body of literature has demonstrated the preventive role of physical activity in depression, and relevant research is rapidly on the rise. The aim of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the 50 most-cited review papers on physical activity and depression, thus identifying important research topics and future research directions., Methods: The 50 most-cited review articles were identified and extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database (on 31 st October 2022), and a bibliometric citation analysis was performed using the Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer software (Version 1.6.18). Information on the country, authors of publications, publishing journals, citations (i.e., total or annual), keywords, and other meaningful data was analysed comprehensively., Results: The 50 most-cited review articles received, on average, 247.5 citations per article. Most review articles were from England, with contributions from some highly cited researchers and research teams. Western countries/regions, such as England, Australia, and the USA were the most influential in publishing review articles on physical activity and depression. The Journal of Affective Disorders and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews were the journals that published the most highly cited review articles on physical activity and depression. Important research topics on the literature on physical activity and depression focused on (1) different types of physical activity and depression; (2) intervention studies related to physical activity and depression; (3) fitness and physical activity levels in people with depression; (4) methodological analyses in physical activity and depression studies; and (5) the impact of physical activity on depression in different populations., Conclusion: This study reveals that review studies on physical activity and depression have great potential to develop further knowledge. Background: We performed a bibliometric analysis of the American Journal of Surgery (AJS) to identify, characterize and place within a historical context, its published classic cited papers (CCPs)., Methods: Bibliometric data from papers published in the AJS between January 1, 1945, and December 31, 2021 was extracted from the Web of Science database. Analysis was performed utilizing Bibliometrix and VOSViewer software., Results: 27,070 papers were published in the AJS over the study period. There were 16 CCPs, including 5 Top CCPs, identified. Review of the Top CCPs reveals that they are based on careful clinical observations, innovation and generally build on prior published work. Top CCPs usually are specific to a particular diagnosis or a commonly performed procedure, as such papers frequently present a scoring or classification system, or important details related to new operative approaches or techniques., Conclusions: Bibliometric study of the AJS has allowed for identification, characterization and appreciation of many of the key changes that have occurred in the discipline throughout the history of modern surgery., (Copyright © 2023 Elsevier Inc. Objective: This study assessed the features of the 100 most-cited papers on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL)., Methods: The 100 most-cited OHRQoL papers were collected from Web of Science, adopting a combined keyword search strategy. Google Scholar and Scopus databases were searched to compare citations. The following data were extracted from papers: title of the paper, number of citations, authorship, country, year of publication, title of the journal, study design, sample size, topic and OHRQoL instruments used. Graphical bibliometric networks were created using VOSviewer software., Results: The number of citations of the top 100 most-cited OHRQoL papers ranged from 73 to 949. Fifty-six papers received at least 100 citations and two received more than 400 citations. Most papers were from Canada (23%) and had been published in Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology (37%). David Locker was the most-cited author (25 papers; 3,521 citations). The cross-sectional study design was the most common (68%). The impact of oral health conditions on OHRQoL (43%) was the most frequent topic, and the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) was the most commonly used OHRQoL instrument (48%)., Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis highlighted the characteristics of the 100 most-cited OHRQoL papers, demonstrating that this field is far from saturated. This bibliometric study analyzed the 100 most-cited papers about the use of lasers and their modalities in dentistry. A search strategy was created using specific keywords related to the topic. A comprehensive search was then conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS-CC) database up to July 2021. Papers that addressed the application of any type of laser and its modalities in dentistry were included. Each paper was cross-matched with the number of citations on Scopus and Google Scholar. The following data were extracted from papers: title, number of citations, authorship, country, year of publication, journal, study design, subject, laser type, and oral health outcomes. The VOSviewer software was used to generate bibliometric networks. The total number of citations ranged from 120 to 4,124 and 23 papers received more than 200 citations. Papers were published from 1964 to 2015. Most papers were from Europe (42%) and Anglo-Saxon America (27%). The USA was the country with more top 100 papers (25%). Papers were published mainly in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine (15%) and Lasers in Medical Science (7%). VOSviewer maps demonstrated the existence of national and international research collaborations among institutions and authors. Most studies had a laboratory design (57%) and were about restorative dentistry (32%) and periodontics (21%). This bibliometric study of the top 100 most-cited papers on lasers in dentistry allowed a quantitative and qualitative analysis of this very promising research field, revealing a net of collaboration and the importance of this topic in dentistry.

This study analyzed the current status, hotspots, and emerging trends of global research on cognitive frailty, in order to provide new research ideas for researchers. Articles and reviews related to cognitive frailty, published from 2013 to 2021, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on 26 November 2021. CiteSpace 5.8.R3 was employed for data analyses. A total of 2077 publications were included. There has been a rapid growth of publications on cognitive frailty research since 2016. The United States, Italy, England, and Australia have been the leading research centers of cognitive frailty; however, China has also recently focused on this topic. The National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, and Shimada H. were found to be the most prolific institution and author, respectively. Co-citation analysis identified 16 clusters, of which the largest was cognitive frailty. The keywords which occurred most frequently were "older adult", followed by "cognitive impairment", "frailty", "risk", "dementia", "prevalence", "mortality", "health", and "Alzheimer's disease". Burst keyword detection revealed a rising interest in cognitive frailty models. By analyzing these publications from recent years, this study provides a comprehensive analysis of cognitive frailty research.

The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate the top 50 most cited papers regarding open fractures. The ISI Web of Knowledge database was used to conduct a search query during May 2020 for articles pertaining to open fractures. The query used multiple Boolean operative combinations. The Boolean operative combination that yielded the largest search result was: "open fracture" OR "compound fracture" OR "gustilo" or "gustilo anderson" or "tscherne" or "oestern". Articles were sorted from highest to lowest number of total citations. Articles were refined to include peer-reviewed original articles, review papers, or editorials. Articles were then screened by title and abstract to confirm they pertained to open fractures. This review provides an analysis of the most influential published literature and recent trends with regards to the treatment and management of open fractures. The purpose of this review was to identify and analyze the main characteristics of the 100 most-cited papers in the field of endodontic therapy in primary teeth. A search for the most-cited articles was conducted in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science 'Core-Collection' (WoS-CC) database up to December 2020. Papers were ranked in descending order, by number of citations, and each paper was matched with the citation count on Scopus and Google Scholar. Two independent reviewers selected the most-cited papers and analyzed it according to the number and density of citations, year and journal of publication, authors, countries and contributing institutions, study design, topic of the paper, and keywords. Spearman's correlation and Poisson regression were used to determine associations between the number of citations and study characteristics. The citation count varied from 15 to 135 (WoS-CC), 8 to 141 (Scopus), and 14 to 317 (Google Scholar). Of the 306 contributing authors, most paper contributions were from Sakai VT, Oliveira TM, and Machado MAAM (5 each). Most of the papers originated from the USA (n=21) and Brazil (n=18). Randomized trials were the most common study design (n=32), and "pulpotomy" was the most frequently used keyword (n=35). Poisson regression showed that the number of citations decreased by 1.5% each year, and increased by 9.7% for each unit of impact factor. This bibliometric analysis highlighted papers, authors, and institutions that have contributed to endodontic therapy in primary teeth. Common terms of interest in this research area was also identified, representing the first bibliometric analysis on this subject.

Citation rates can be used as an indicator of the influence and relevance of scientific papers. The present study analyzed the 100 most-cited articles related to erosive tooth wear (ETW). The top 100 most-cited papers focusing on ETW topics were collected from the Web of Science database on November 11, 2020. The following bibliometric data were extracted from papers: title, authorship, institutions, countries, number of citations, year of publication, journal title, study design, topic, and keywords. Scopus and Google Scholar were searched to compare the number of citations. The VOSviewer software was used to generate collaborative network maps for the authors and keywords. The number of citations of the 100 most-cited papers ranged from 71 to 330 (average: 97.44). The papers were published between 1949 and 2015. Caries Research (28%) and The Journal of Dentistry (16%) presented the majority of papers. Laboratorial (44%) and observational studies (33%) were the most common study designs. The most studied topics were epidemiology (31%) and the erosive potential of substances (drinks, foods, or medicines) (22%). The countries with the highest number of most-cited papers were England (32%), Germany (18%), and Switzerland (10%). The University of Bern was the institution with the most papers (10%). Lussi A was the author with the highest number of papers in the top 100 (14%). The most common keyword was "dental erosion" with 64 occurrences. Background: Bibliometric analysis is a critical indicator of the influence and relevance of scientific papers, whilst also highlighting key contributors and gaps in knowledge in a scientific field., Objectives: To update and analyse the 100 most-cited papers in regenerative endodontics from 2019 to 2023., Methods: A search of the most-cited recent papers focusing on regenerative endodontics using journals included in the category, 'Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine', in the Clarivate Web of Science database from 2019 to 2023 was performed. Three researchers conducted the study selection and data extraction. Data extraction included publication title and year, authors, number and mean number of citations, institution, country and continent, study design, journal title, keywords and research topic. Citation counts were also collected in Google Scholar and Scopus databases. Graphical bibliometric networks were created using VOSviewer software., Results: The number of citations of the 100 most-cited articles ranged from 6 to 85. Most were published in 2020 (n = 48), principally in the Journal of Endodontics (47%), followed by International Endodontic Journal (13%), Journal of Dental Research (6%) and Dental Materials (6%). Laboratory study was the most common study design amongst the included papers (n = 47), followed by narrative reviews (n = 17) and observational studies (n = 16). The most frequent first author on the top three most-cited papers was Hacer Aksel, whilst Adham A. Azim (n = 6; 89 citations) contributed most to the top 100 articles. The institution from which most articles originated was the University of Hong Kong (China) (n = 5; 81 citations), whereas the corresponding authors were predominantly from the United States of America (USA) (n = 31; 560 citations). The VOSviewer map of co-authorship demonstrated research collaborative clusters. 'Regenerative endodontics' and 'stem-cells' were the most employed keywords (37 and 36 occurrences respectively)., Discussion: The current study was designed not only to showcase the most influential papers in regenerative endodontics since 2019 but also to provide a better understanding of global research in this area over the last five years., Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis highlighted papers, authors, institutions and keywords in regenerative endodontics. There is a large body of research on Ramadan intermittent fasting (RIF) and health in Muslim communities, that can offer insights to promote the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), which encompasses good health and well-being. Based on recent bibliometric evidence, we hypothesized that RIF research is highly relevant to SDG 3, particularly Targets 3.1, 3.2, 3.4, and 3.5. Therefore, this bibliometric study quantified RIF literature supporting SDG 3 and associated targets over the past seven decades and explored themes and trends. All types of research articles were extracted from the Scopus database from inception to March 2022. Microsoft Excel, Biblioshiny, and VOSviewer were used to qualitatively and quantitatively examine RIF research trends supporting SDG 3 and associated targets. We identified 1729 relevant articles. The number of publications notably increased since 1986, with a dramatic increase in 2019-2020. RIF research predominantly supported Target 3.4 (reducing risk for non-communicable diseases), with research hotspots being diabetes, diabetes medications, pregnancy, physiology, metabolic diseases, and obesity and metabolism. This target was also the most commonly supported by dedicated authors and institutions publishing on RIF, whereas other SDG 3 targets were negligibly addressed in comparison. Our comprehensive bibliometric analysis of RIF literature showed growing support for SDG 3 through positive contributions to half of the SDG 3 targets, although Target 3.4 received the most attention. Background: In primary health care, the dissemination of retracted publications through literature reviews, guidelines, and recommendations can have a significant and lasting impact. Despite this potential threat, the retraction consequences and patterns in this domain have not been extensively explored. Therefore, this study investigates the characteristics and ripple effects of retracted papers in primary health care literature., Methods: Retracted publications indexed in PubMed from 1984 to 2022 in primary health care journals underwent bibliometric analysis. The dataset included detailed publication information, from which we derived annual retraction rates and examined trends by journal, authorship, and geographic origin. We further evaluated the extent of influence exerted by retracted papers through postretraction citation analysis., Results: In 44 primary health care journals, 13 articles were retracted over the study period, representing a retraction rate of 0.01%-notably lower than the aggregate rate for all PubMed journals. Despite this, we observed a recent surge in retraction frequency, especially in the last decade. The median interval to retraction was 15 months, with scientific misconduct, specifically fabrication, and plagiarism, as the predominant reasons. After retraction, the articles continued to exert considerable influence, averaging 25 citations per article with a 78.1% postretraction citation prevalence., Conclusion: Retractions resulting from scientific misconduct in primary health care are increasing, with a substantial portion of such work continuing to be cited. This paper presents the global research landscape and scientific progress on occupant thermal comfort in naturally ventilated buildings (OTC-NVB). Despite the growing interest in the area, comprehensive papers on the current status and future developments on the topic are currently lacking. Hence, the publication trends, bibliometric analysis, and systematic literature review of the published documents on OTC-NVB were examined. The search query "Thermal Comfort" AND "Natural Ventilation" AND "Buildings" was designed and executed to recover related documents on the topic from the Elsevier Scopus database. Results showed that 976 documents (comprising articles, conference papers, reviews, etc.) were published on the topic from 1995 to 2021. Further analysis showed that 97.34% of the publications were published in the English language. Richard J.de Dear (University of Sydney, Australia) is the most prolific researcher on OTC-NVB research, while Energy and Buildings has the highest publications. Bibliometric analysis showed high publications, citations, keywords, and co-authorships among researchers, whereas the most occurrent keywords are ventilation, natural ventilation, thermal comfort, buildings, and air conditioning. Systematic literature review demonstrated that OTC-NVB research has progressed significantly from empirical to computer-based studies involving complex mathematical equations, programs, or software like artificial neural networks (ANN) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In general, OTC-NVB research findings indicate that physiological, social, and environmental factors considerably influence OTC in NVBs. Inadequate management and treatment of wastewater pose significant threats, including environmental pollution, degradation of water quality, depletion of global water resources, and detrimental effects on human well-being. Biogranulation technology has gained increasing traction for treating both domestic and industrial wastewater, garnering interest from researchers and industrial stakeholders alike. However, the literature lacks comprehensive bibliometric analyses that examine and illuminate research hotspots and trends in this field. This study aims to elucidate the global research trajectory of scientific output in biogranulation technology from 1992 to 2022. Utilizing data from the Scopus database, we conducted an extensive analysis, employing VOSviewer and the R-studio package to visualize and map connections and collaborations among authors, countries, and keywords. Our analysis revealed a total of 1703 journal articles published in English. Notably, China emerged as the leading country, Jin Rencun as the foremost author, Bioresource Technology as the dominant journal, and Environmental Science as the prominent subject area, with the Harbin Institute of Technology leading in institutional contributions. The most prominent author keyword identified through VOSviewer analysis was "aerobic granular sludge," with "sequencing batch reactor" emerging as the dominant research term. Furthermore, our examination using R Studio highlighted "wastewater treatment" and "sewage" as notable research terms within the field. These findings underscore a diverse research landscape encompassing fundamental aspects of granule formation, reactor design, and practical applications. Objective: The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry (JERD) stands out as one of the most prominent international journals publishing research in esthetic dentistry. This study analyzed articles published by JERD since the year 2000 through bibliometric analysis., Methodology: The search was conducted in January 2024 using Scopus. The following data were extracted from the articles: citation count, year, language, access type, funding agency, study design, theme (general and specific), country, institution, authors, and keywords. The VOSviewer software was used to generate collaborative network maps among the data. Dimensions were consulted to measure altmetric data. Google Trends was used to investigate the global popularity of JERD research., Results: A total of 1394 articles were included in this analysis. Citation count ranged from 0 to 625 (average: 16.9). Articles were published between 2000 and 2023. Laboratory studies were more prevalent (n = 850), with the most investigated general theme being restorative procedures (n = 882), and the highlighted specific theme being the use of composite resin (n = 327). The United States had the highest number of articles (n = 640), with the diverse distribution among other countries. The most common keyword was "cad/cam" (n = 63). VOSviewer demonstrated high collaboration among countries. Intense mentions were identified primarily on Facebook. According to Google Trends, Egypt was the country that searched for JERD the most., Conclusions: JERD exhibited significant growth in the number of published articles and their diversity by topics, types, origin (country), number of citations, and impact factor., Clinical Significance: The JERD is a journal that publishes studies influencing clinical practice. Background: The aims of this bibliometric analysis were (1) a longitudinal analysis of the publication landscape in the field of pain (1975-2020) and (2) to characterize the overall publication profiles for two selected journals: European Journal of Pain and PAIN® utilizing an automated approach., Methods: Database searches in Scopus extracted all journals with 'pain' in their title. For the two specific journals, papers were manually/automatically profiled into preclinical, human and translational studies., Results: A gross list of 64 journals in the field of pain consisting of both active and ceased journals in Scopus were included in this analysis which identified 62,565 papers with approximately 4000 papers published/year. These papers include 2759 and 9156 papers in Eur. J. Pain and PAIN®, respectively. Currently, there are 24 active 'pain' journals. Authors/paper increase from 2 to 7 indicating a development from mono-disciplinary to multi-disciplinary studies. The overall publication profiles assessing preclinical, human (experimental/clinical) and translational papers in Eur. J. Pain and PAIN® were almost similar (14%, 75% and 10% versus 26%, 63% and 10%). Papers have changed over the years from mono-disciplinary studies (e.g. behavioural studies) to multi-disciplinary studies (e.g. combined behavioural and cell studies). After optimization, the search model matched the manual screening by 100%, 98% and 96% for the preclinical, clinical and healthy volunteer categories., Conclusions: Over the last 45 years, more than 60,000 pain-related papers have been published. Papers develop over the years from mono-disciplinary to multi-disciplinary studies. The overall publication profile including preclinical, human (experimental/clinical) and translational papers was almost similar in Eur. J. In this study, we conducted a bibliometric and altmetric analysis of the top 100 most-cited articles on religion from 2010 to 2023. The data were sourced from the Web of Science Core Collection database. VOSviewer was utilized to create visualization knowledge maps such as co-authorship, co-citation, and keywords co-occurrence analysis, and the Spearman correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationships between the variables. The results indicate that these articles were published in 22 journals by 231 authors in 158 institutions across 24 countries. Most of the articles were published from the USA. Kenneth I. Pargament and Harold G. Koenig were identified as two of the most prominent scholars, while the Journal of Religion and Health and the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality emerged as the most productive and influential journals. The citations for these articles span a range of 45 to 828, whereas the altmetric attention scores (AAS) vary from 1 to 797. The Spearman correlation analysis revealed that the AAS is weakly positively correlated with the article influence score (AIS) ( r = 0.285 ) and weakly negatively correlated with the number of years since publication (NYsP) ( r = - 0.233 ), but is not significantly correlated with other bibliometric indicators; however, it is posited that the importance of the AAS may increase over time as the influence of social media continues to expand., Competing Interests: Declarations Conflict of interest The authors have no relevant financial or non-financial interests to disclose. Sexual selection has been a popular subject within evolutionary biology because of its central role in explaining odd and counterintuitive traits observed in nature. Consequently, the literature associated with this field of study became vast. Meta-analytical studies attempting to draw inferences from this literature have now accumulated, varying in scope and quality, thus calling for a synthesis of these syntheses. We conducted a systematic literature search to create a systematic map with a report appraisal of meta-analyses on topics associated with sexual selection, aiming to identify the conceptual and methodological gaps in this secondary literature. We also conducted bibliometric analyses to explore whether these gaps are associated with the gender and origin of the authors of these meta-analyses. We included 152 meta-analytical studies in our systematic map. We found that most meta-analyses focused on males and on certain animal groups (e.g. birds), indicating severe sex and taxonomic biases. The topics in these studies varied greatly, from proximate (e.g. relationship of ornaments with other traits) to ultimate questions (e.g. formal estimates of sexual selection strength), although the former were more common. We also observed several common methodological issues in these studies, such as lack of detailed information regarding searches, screening, and analyses, which ultimately impairs the reliability of many of these meta-analyses. In addition, most of the meta-analyses' authors were men affiliated to institutions from developed countries, pointing to both gender and geographical authorship biases. Most importantly, we found that certain authorship aspects were associated with conceptual and methodological issues in meta-analytical studies. Many of our findings might simply reflect patterns in the current state of the primary literature and academia, suggesting that our study can serve as an indicator of issues within the field of sexual selection at large. The current global water crisis has prompted research into technologies that can reuse different water resources to mitigate water scarcity. The use of treated greywater can be proposed to provide additional water resources. By reusing this water in different applications, this water crisis can be mitigated at the local scale. This study presents a bibliometric analysis to assess the state of the art of greywater treatment and its reuse technologies. This analysis is based on the scientific literature published until 2023 in Scopus regarding greywater treatment and 1,024 documents were found. The results showed a clear exponential increase in the accumulated number of publications in this topic, which was spurred during the mid-1990s. The most prolific country was the United States, while China, the other typical scientific superpower in most fields, occupied the sixth position in the ranking. Environmental Sciences was the knowledge subject with more documents, followed by Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The bibliometric study was complemented using SciMAT to create bibliometric networks that represent the dynamic evolution of the themes. Background: Rewards can both validate and promote the stature of a researcher in their field. Research has been mixed on the role of gender as a predictor of receiving scholarly awards, but much of it lacks control for research excellence, and awards in interdisciplinary associations have been neglected. This study fills these gaps for suicidology., Methods: Bibliometric data from the Web of Science was utilized for this study. To control for research excellence the analysis is restricted to the 116 most highly prolific researchers, each with 70 or more works published on suicide, from the Web of Science. The research awards in suicidology, given by three different interdisciplinary associations, include the Louis I. Dublin Award, the Morselli Medal, and the Stengel Research Award. The link between gender and receipt of a major award is adjusted for possible mediators including long-term research productivity (h-index), years of experience, and organizational prestige., Results: While the percentage of women winning awards is less than that of men, we find that there is no significant difference between the genders. The quality of research and years of experience predict the receipt of each award., Conclusion: Based on a bibliometric analysis, women are not at a disadvantage in receiving research awards in suicidology. The unclear pathogenic mechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders stemming from NOTCH2NLC GGC repeat expansions drive focused research. Thus, a bibliometric and meta-analysis was conducted to uncover research trends and positivity rates in NOTCH2NLC. We conducted systematic searches in the Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, and Scopus databases for studies related to NOTCH2NLC up until August 2, 2023. Information regarding countries, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords of studies included in the Web of Science was analyzed and visualized. The positivity rates of NOTCH2NLC GGC repeat expansions across all screened patients and patients' families were pooled under the random-effects model. Publication bias and its impact were examined using funnel plots, Egger's linear regression, and trim-and-fill method. The bibliometric analysis, revealing pronounced publication growth, comprised 119 studies, which came from China and Japan particularly. "Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease" emerged as a frequently used keyword. The meta-analysis comprised 36 studies, indicating global positivity rates of 1.79% (95% CI, 0.75-3.17) for all patients and 2.00% (95% CI, 0.26-4.78) for patients' families. Subgroup analyses based on region and phenotype suggested the highest NOTCH2NLC positivity rates in Taiwan population (5.42%, 95% CI 0.08-16.89) and in leukoencephalopathy-dominant patients (8.25%, 95% CI, 3.01-15.60). Sensitivity analysis affirmed the robustness of results. In conclusion, NOTCH2NLC GGC repeat expansions exhibit rare globally, primarily in East Asia, and leukoencephalopathy-dominant patients, emphasizing regional and phenotypic distinctions. Background: Metabolic reprogramming (MR) in cancer (CA) has been a focus of intense research in the recent two decades. This phenomenon has attracted great interest because it offers potential targets for cancer therapy. To capture the intellectual landscape of this field, we conducted a bibliometric analysis to assess the scientific output, major contributors, and trends in the MR/CA research., Methods: We performed a systematic search using the Web of Science to retrieve articles published on MR of cancer from 2006 until 2023. The bibliometric tools such as Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, and Microsoft Excel were used to identify the most prolific authors, institutions, citation patterns, and keywords. We also used co-citation analysis to map the conceptual structure of the field and identify influential publications. Furthermore, we examined the literature by analyzing publication years, citations, and research impact factors., Results: A total of 4,465 publications about MR/CA were retrieved. Publications on MR/CA increased rapidly from 2006 to 2023. Frontiers in Oncology published the most papers, while Cell Metabolism had the most citations. Highly cited papers were mainly published in Cancer Cell , Nature , Cell , Science and Cell Metabolism . China and the United States led the way in publications and contributed the most to MR/CA research. The University of Texas System, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Fudan University were the most productive institutions. The profitable authors were Deberardinis Ralph J and Chiarugi Paola. The current topics included MR in tumorigenesis and progression of CA, MR of tumor cells and tumor microenvironment, the effect of MR on the CA treatment, the underlying mechanisms of MR (such as gene regulation, epigenetics, extracellular vesicles, and gut microbiota), and the modulation of MR. Some topics such as tumor microenvironment, lipid MR, circular RNA, long noncoding RNA, exosome, prognostic model, and immunotherapy may be the focus of MR/CA research in the next few years., Conclusion: This study evaluated the global scientific output in the field of MR/CA research, analyzing its quantitative characteristics. The prevalence of microplastics (MPs) in agricultural ecosystems poses a notable threat to dynamics of soil ecosystems, crop productivity, and global food security. MPs enter agricultural ecosystems from various sources and have considerable impacts on the physiochemical properties soil, soil organisms and microbial communities, and plants. However, the intensity of these impacts can vary with the size, shape, types, and the concentrations of MPs in the soil. Besides, MPs can enter food chain through consummation of crops grown on MPs polluted soils. In this study, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of 1636 publications on the effects of MPs on agricultural ecosystems from 2012 to May 2024. The results revealed a substantial increase in publications over the years, and China, the USA, Germany, and India have emerged as leading countries in this field of research. Social network analysis identified emerging trends and research hotspots. The latest burst keywords were contaminants, biochar, polyethylene microplastics, biodegradable microplastics, antibiotic resistance genes, and quantification. Furthermore, we have summarized the effects of MPs on various components of agricultural ecosystems. By integrating findings from diverse disciplinary perspectives, this study provides a valuable insight into the current knowledge landscape, identifies research gaps, and proposes future research directions to effectively tackle the intricate challenges associated with MPs pollution in agricultural environments., (© 2024. The final data represent 4453 articles, 19,916 independent authors, and 4436 institutions. Analysis of coauthorship was performed using R libraries software. Collaboration patterns were assessed at the node and graph level to analyze patterns of coauthorship. Influential authors and institutions were identified using centrality metrics; author influence was also cataloged by the number of publications and highly cited papers. Independent assessors reviewed influential author photographs to classify race and gender. The Gini coefficient was applied to examine dispersion of influence across nodes. Pearson correlations were used to investigate the relationship between centrality metrics, number of publications, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding., Results: The modularity of the author network is significantly higher than would be predicted by chance (0.886 vs random network mean 0.340, P < .01), signifying strong community formation. The Gini coefficient indicates inequity across both author and institution centrality metrics, representing moderate to high disparity in node influence. Identifying the top 30 authors by centrality metrics, number of published and highly cited papers, 79.0% were categorized as male; 68.1% of authors were classified as White (non-Latino) and 24.6% Asian., Conclusions: The highly modular network structure indicates dense author communities. Extracommunity cooperation is limited, previously demonstrated to negatively impact novel scientific work. 2 , 3 Inequitable node influence is seen at both author and institution level, notably an imbalance of information transfer and disparity in connectivity patterns. There is an association between network influence, article publication (authors), and NIH funding (institutions). Female and minority authors are inequitably represented among the most influential authors. Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition that affects many males. Physical therapy (PT) is the one potential treatment for ED that may improve blood flow, muscle strength, and other factors that may contribute to the issue. Data on the prevalence and trends of research on PT for ED are lacking., Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the literature trends in PT for ED via bibliometric and visualized analysis., Methods: Data on publications were collected from Scopus covering the period between 1989 and 2022. To refine the data, bibliometric analyses were conducted using Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, an online visualization platform, and BiblioAnalytics. Power BI and Bibliomaster were used to generate figures and tables, while Biblioshiny and VOSviewer were used for visualization., Results: A total of 494 documents were identified. The year 2019 generated the largest number of publications, with a total of 54. These studies have received 12,917 citations related to PT for ED. The most common document type was the original article with 283 publications. The University of California, USA, was the most productive institution on this topic, with 21 publications and 2,035 citations. The USA led all countries with 114 publications on the topic. The Journal of Sexual Medicine secured the top ranking with an h-index of 18. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are wastewater treatment technologies that stand out for their ability to degrade Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs). The literature has extensively investigated these removal processes for different aqueous matrices. Once technically mature, some of these systems have become accredited to be applied on a large scale, and therefore, their systemic performances in the environmental and cost spheres have also become essential requirements. This study proposed corroborating this trend, analyzing the available literature on the subject to verify how experts in the AOP area investigated this integration during 2015-2023. For this purpose, a sample of publications was treated by applying the Systematic Review (SR) methodology. This resulted in an extract of 83 studies that adopted life-cycle logic to estimate environmental impacts and process costs or evaluated them as complementary to the technical dimension of each treatment technology. This analysis found that both dimensions can be used for selecting or sizing AOPs at the design scale. However, the appropriate choice of the impact categories for the environmental assessment and establishing a methodology for cost analysis can make the approach still more effective. In addition, a staggering number of processes would broaden the reality and applicability of the estimates, and adopting multicriteria analysis methodologies could address essential aspects of decision-making processes during the design of the arrangements. Background: Bibliometric analysis is a scientific method that can derive insights into major publications' trends within a field. Currently, no bibliometric study has been conducted for Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS)., Objective: To characterize the most frequently cited articles in MMS., Methods: Web of Science was used to identify the 100 most cited publications on MMS between 1970 and 2022. Articles were analyzed by title, authorship, institution, journal, year, citation frequency, originating country, funding, citation index, Altmetric score, impact factor, Eigenfactor score, and article influence score., Results: Since January 2023, the top 100 articles had 9,096 total citations, ranging from 47 to 304. The top cited publication was "Mohs surgery is the treatment of choice for recurrent (previously treated) basal-cell carcinoma" in 1989. The top contributing organization was Harvard University (17%) and top contributing authors were Brodland, DJ (12%) and Zitelli, JA (11%). The year 2005 accounted for most of the articles (12%). Most articles were from the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (32%) and Dermatologic Surgery (27%). Polycythemia vera (PV) is a myeloproliferative tumor with low incidence and complex symptoms, affecting patients' quality of life and shortening their life span. Since the beginning of the 21st century, there has been an update but a need for uniform consensus regarding diagnosing and treating PV. With the continued interest of researchers in this field, a bibliometric study of PV is necessary. This paper aims to analyze articles on PV through bibliometric software to provide collaborative information and new ideas for researchers in this field. We collected PV-related publications in the Web of Science Core Collection database from 2000 to 2023. The included literature was analyzed using Citespace (6.2.R2), VOSviewer (1.6.19), and Bibliometrix. The study included country/region, institution, authors, journals, keywords, and references, and a visual knowledge network diagram was constructed. Microsoft Excel 2013 was also used for statistical analysis. A total of 1,093 articles were eventually included. The number of PV-related publications has steadily increased from 2000 to the present, with great potential for future growth. The US and US institutions have contributed more to this field, with the US ranking first in the number of publications, total citations, and centrality. Alessandro M. Vannucchi is the most published author. Tefferi, Ayalew is the most cited author. And BLOOD has the most publications, topping the list of the eleven high-productivity core source journals. The most cited article was "Acquired mutation of the tyrosine kinase JAK2 in human myeloproliferative disorders" (Baxter, EJ, 2005). By examining the keywords, we found that the diagnosis and typing of true erythrocytosis, the use of ruxolitinib, and the tyrosine kinase JAK2 are the research hotspots in the field; genetic and molecular research in the field of true erythrocytosis is a cutting-edge topic in the field; and risk factors for true erythrocytosis is a cutting-edge hotspot issue in the field. The fruitful research in this century has laid the foundation for developing the field of PV. The information in this article will provide researchers with current hotspots and future potential in the discipline, helping the field achieve more extraordinary breakthroughs. Currently, research should focus on increasing global multicenter collaborative research in diagnosis and treatment to develop scientifically recognized diagnostic and treatment protocols and new clinical drug research. Introduction: Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is associated with abnormal fundus neovascularization. Consequently, Anti-VEGF agents are vital for ophthalmic treatment. This paper reviews the application of anti-VEGF agents in ophthalmology over the past two decades with the aim of providing insights for further research., Methods: A meticulous search strategy was employed in the Web of Science Core Collection literature from 2003 to 2023 to gather relevant literature, which was then analyzed using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package Bibliometrix., Results: The study included 3,602 publications from 83 countries and 3,445 institutions. The United States and China have emerged as leading contributors in terms of the publication volume. Johns Hopkins University, the University of Sydney, and Genentech Inc were identified as frontrunners in this field. "Retina" had the highest publication volume, whereas "Ophthalmology" had the highest citation frequency. Among the 15,918 scholars, Bressler NM, Holz FG, Glassman AR, and Bandello F led in publication volume, while Brown DM was the most cited author. High-frequency keywords included "Endothelial Growth Factor," "Therapy," "Safety," and "Randomized Clinical Trial.", Conclusion: Anti-VEGF drugs have shown notable success in treating neovascular eye diseases, especially wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema, focusing on clinical efficacy, injection regimens, and safety. Future directions include developing new anti-VEGF drugs, drug delivery systems, non-invasive administration, multi-target drugs, leveraging big data and artificial intelligence, and addressing the current treatment limits.
