Abstract

A study is made for energy trapping, a behavior of thickness-shear modes crucial to applications and revealed that two-dimensional equations for asymmetrically electrode piezoelectric are obtained, and the electrodes present constraints on plate electric potentials of various orders. The equations obtained and the results of thickness-shear modes are useful for the analysis and design of piezoelectric devices but not suitable for studying electrode mismatch.

Abstract

The design and theoretical analysis of a PZT-based acoustic microsensor using IPP (in-plane polarization) and IDE (Interdigital electrodes) is presented. The results show that the IDE and IPP can improve the sensitivitydsensors significantly.
