Abstract

The synthesis and exploration of electrochemical properties of heterocyclic compounds with structures similar to vitamin E, but without the hydroxyl hydrogen atom are presented. The compound studied was found to be most suitable long-lived model radical cation to test the oxidizing abilities of the radical cation of vitamin E ([alpha]-[TOH.sup.+*]) under homogeneous conditions.
