Abstract

The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS), a particle detector for searching for anti-matter, dark matter and the origins of cosmic rays in space, will be assembled at ETH Zurich and will be installed on the International Space Station (ISS) in 2004. Main features of the AMS' superconducting magnet are discussed.
