Abstract

This study examines the relationship between insulin-like growth factor levels, bone mineral density, and body composition in female runners and gymnasts. Results indicate that bone density, lean body mass, and levels of insulin-like growth factor were higher in gymnasts than in runners despite similar caloric intake between groups.
