Abstract

A study was conducted to screen mutations in the [GABA.sub.A] receptor (GABAR) [beta]3 subunit gene (GABRB3) in 48 probands and families with remitting childhood absence epilepsy (CAE). The functional analysis of human GABAR transiently expressed in HEK293T cells with the use of rapid agonist application showed that each amino acid transversion in the [beta]3-v2 subunit (P11S, S15F, G32R) reduced GABA-evoked current density from whole cells.

Abstract

The cis-H2O/OH(super -1) complexes of [Cu(HISMIMI)Cl(sub 2)] and [Cu(HISMIMA)Cl(sub 2)] are capable of promoting both the hydrolysis of 2,4-bis-(dinitrophenyl) phosphate (2,4-BDNPP) and DNA cleavage in aqueous solutions, which turn out to be relevant for the development of chemical nucleases.
