Abstract

The results from the 139La nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic analysis of the ruthenium carbonyl intermediates of X2LnRu(CO)2Cp complexes confirmed the presence of stable lanthanide-ruthenium bonds without carbonyl ligand bridges in the compounds' solid and solution states. Furthermore, reactivity studies showed that the lanthanide-transition metal bond participated in different electrophilic and nucleophilic interactions.
