Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of a series of six novel Fe(II) compounds with the general formula [Fe(bztpen)X]P[F.sub.6] and [Fe(bztpen)C[H.sub.3]CN][(P[F.sub.6]).sub.2], where bztpen is the pentadentate ligand and [X.sup.-] is a monodentate ligand is presented.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on dichlorotris(triphenyl/phosphine) ruthenium(II). The authorts discuss the reactions of this compound with 1,8-bis(2-pyridyl)-3,6-dithiaoctane (pdto) and substituted 1,10-phenantrolines, and report the characterization of the products in acetonitrile via NMR studies.
