Abstract

Large-scale ocean circulation in the Nordic Seas and Arctic Ocean are explained with the help of a diagnostic model of the time-mean. An analytical expression for the model's bottom geostrophic velocity is formulated based on the arguments and direct observations of the f/H contour.
