Abstract

The study utilized a different approach to the cost-benefit analysis of rural electrification projects which is based on a theoretical framework centered on socioeconomic benefits. The research critically evaluated Tanzania's rural electrification projects in terms of the framework and applied it to a specific case. The main problems encountered in the case study involved tariff rates and high connection charges for residential consumers, and low power factors for industrial consumers.
