Abstract

Homonuclear and heteronuclear two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy were employed to analyze an 80 amino acid polypeptide containing the human retinoic acid receptor beta (h-retinoic acid receptor) DNA-binding domain. 1H homonuclear 2D techniques were used to assign the backbone 1H resonances and more than 90% of the side chain resonances while 15N-1H heteronuclear 3D techniques were used to confirm the designations. Sequential and medium-range nuclear Overhauser effect connectivities determined the secondary structure of h-retinoic acid receptor DNA-binding domain.
