Carbon nanotube (CNT) supported Pt nanoparticle catalysts SR-Pt were prepared by spontaneous reduction of Pt[Cl.sub.6][.sup.2-] ion by functional CNT defect. Compared with Pt catalysts prepared by hydrogen reduction and electrochemical deposition methods, Pt catalysts synthesized by functional CNT defects show excellent antipoisoning ability and long-term cycle stability.

Lumazine synthase and riboflavin synthase catalyze the last two steps in the biosynthesis of riboflavin, a vitamin that is involved in many critical biochemical reactions that are essential for the maintenance of life. The ribitylamino N-H moiety of the lumazine synthase substrate was replaced by CH2 and N-CH3 groups in order to obtain inhibitors and structural and structural probes that could be useful in studying the structures of bound reaction intermediates.

The PHC is organized in ten sections of the various aspects of Fazang's life and Ch'oe Ch'iwon has correlated the ten biographical categories with the ten kinds of mental states.

The NMR solution structure of FKBP-rapamycin-binding (FRB) studies aimed at the identification and characterization of novel ligands that target the rapamycin binding pocket is reported. It was found that rapamycin binds the FRB domain and inhibits the kinase activity of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) even in the absence of FKBP12, the most potent ligands bind to FRB with similar binding affinity but inhibit the kinase activity of mTOR at much higher concentrations.
