Abstract: A comprehensive control strategy was implemented in two Chinese villages from 2005 to 2007 with an aim to reduce the rate of transmission of 'Schistosoma japonicum' infection from cattle and humans to snails. The strategy was found to be highly effective and was adopted as the national strategy to control schistosomiasis in China.
